OK, apparently I don't know shit. So, to protect others and not to embarrass @solarion because of me, I'm not posting here until I get cryptos so good, that I can port wallet to any programming language and build my own coin from scratch.

Alternatively, you could consider reading the thread you're posting in. Nah, out of the question.

still, the fact that there is a 40% interest rate should imply more sells, compounding effect will be huge if you hold for let's say a year... the thing is if you want to invest big and get returns every month,it's hard.
how much is market cap?

679858.734603*current exchange rate

huge = 6434%

i used to have a nice simple calc link, this one works but isn't as clear

Nice. I been using this one as it gives many fine details:

If there is no hash on network to process PoS things and secure transactions, then I'll be batman, ok Smiley

aim your 28kh here:

http://www.zeitpool.zeit-coin.com/

Mining Zeitcoin directly is neither profitable or necessary.

Mining in pool for 1 ZEIT reward definitely is not currently (at the time of writting this) profitable for me. I can make more mining YC Cheesy

well, while hashrate was low, I solomined 197 blocks today with my 28 khash in approximately 5.5 hours time FYI. That's more I'm getting in minting. I know when it's useful to mine with my low hash or not. I'm not as dumb as everyone thinks I am. Now when hash is back to ~2 Mhash/sec, I guess I can forget about my 51% attack... Sad

Hashrate is low and shall remain low until hashrate is non-existent and PoW is disabled. PLEASE READ THIS THREAD, I'm getting embarrassed for you.

There is no 51% threat here even if the hashrate is zero.0 You're making decisions based on a misconception.

Holy uninformed posts batman. Shocked

For the love of god waldistons, read for awhile. Please?

Start with the thread title:

Quote

But most importantly - you could turn on some miners against ZEIT first! Today I decided to try solo mining ZEIT, and was getting a block every couple of minutes. Then I went to nap for couple hours. And when I woke up - WOALA - 1 Mhash of network is gone:

Code:
"blocks" : 213474,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 0.00029415,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : false,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 65066,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false

Basically, if I turn on cpu mining on my laptop, I have 51% of network. Luckily I managed to sell quick (missed the 4 sat order on mintpal), but still got ~ 0.01 BTC for selling all my ZEIT. For the sake of community, I'll leave my 28 khash miner on for a while (I'm getting a block every ~2minutes), so network keeps working, but I really feel bad about guys picking them up at exchanges.

I see that the Zeitcoin dev hasnt posted on BTT since the 13th: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=248641;sa=showPosts
Is he still active on this coin? If so, doing what?

http://forum.zeit-coin.com/

Moving to there almost exclusively isn't a decision I necessarily agree with, but what can you do right...freewill and all that.

The reasons that the staff team aren't here as much as they used to be are:-

1) We're all VERY f***ing busy doing stuff 'for the future' that you'll hear about when they are completed.

2) Even important posts here get swamped so quickly that it's becoming inefficient to even try to keep them bumped until enough of you have seen them.

3) Most of the talk here is of the "when can I cash out & make a fat profit" variety, which is the one thing NOT being talked about by the community.

The ZeitCoin Community was, is, and always will be about SO much more than personal greed. That's why we're there & you are here.

Have a great weekend, vultures.

Not real sure who "we" and "they" are, but:

Happy birthday anyway.

thats because there are no other coins with 50 billion in circulation that trades between 1-10 satoshi. its unique to zeit. unfortunately it is a bit daunting to new investors. what this coin needs is big time btc in the bid side as a show of support.

This is not correct.

"moneysupply" : 27310412826.79168700,

If you believe there are 50b floating around, then you should be buying like a madman as we won't reach that point for a very very long time. Smiley

The bulky orders are because each step up is 20% at this point. Look up "pip" and "spread" on investopedia

Right. To stop these wannabe tycoons and their silly manipulations we have to move the price up, but to do that we have to buy and hold. I don't know who's buying at 3, and I don't know if those buys are going to show as sells at 4 very soon. Eventually the exchange will collapse and likely steal all the coins they were foolish enough to leave there, but before then they'll suppress the value of Zeitcoin if we don't stop them. This is precisely why it's difficult to get out of the low single digits. Zeitcoin was close to freedom, but people stopped buying so back we go.

1713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I no longer consider bitcoin as a decentralized currency... on: April 25, 2014, 01:59:34 PM
From the moment I heard about bitcoin, until now, I always said the same: I'll invest in it and start to use it as soon as my local bakery is accepting bitcoins in exchange for bread.  That's about it, you want acceptance and real use for any currency, then the local store needs to accept it, and these stores will only do so when they can pay their suppliers with it (or easily transfer to fiat money).
This last part will be the show-stopper in my opinion... You can have ATM machines, exchanges, brokers, miners all you want, as long as you're not able to walk around in any city in either Europe, Asia, US, Africa ... and pay in the locals stores with bitcoin, then there's no use of all these mining rigs, start-up companies and venture capitalists who try to secure their place.
The main thing they're usually forgetting is getting the local shops and their manufactureres / suppliers to accept it and embrace it.
If bitcoin is able to overcome this hurdle it will truly go through the moon Smiley  - and back.

Until that happens, we have to use excellent companies like gyft and bitpay to enable bitcoin adopters to be able to use their bitcoins in more places. If, as a community, we continue to reward companies that have helped move bitcoin forward (overstock, tigerdirect, amazon) and avoid companies that do not (newegg) then we're exerting influence in the marketplace where it actually counts. Fiat shackles will not be broken overnight imo, they'll be broken one tiny piece at a time.

If everybody bashes on Walmart for retracting their gyft support then maybe they'll realize they made a mistake. Stranger things have happened.

is Zeitcoin ever moving up from 4 on paypal? Any updates on the multipool?

Actually it will be moving down to 3 shortly on mintpal. People have to actually buy for the price to go up.

sorry you were saying?

I was saying that there's very little buy support of late, as evidenced by the sea of red on the recent market history.

What's the deal with this coin - what's with the bulky sell order and buy order queues?

Lots of people fancy themselves "daytraders" and flip flop back and forth between different coins all day. Some also put in buy and sell orders and then absorb the spread. All of this of course works better when the exchange you're on doesn't steal all your coins...but hey you can't have everything right?

This is not a Zeitcoin specific occurrence, many of these guys don't know much of anything about the coins they're sloshing around.

hey guys. sorry if this has been asked before, thread is a bit long with so many pages.
how does the minting in the wallet work? do i transfer coins there and forget about them or is there config that needs to be done?

You can transfer Zeitcoin to your wallet and either leave the wallet running all the time or just load it for a day or two a week to get your stake coins. Either way I suggest you backup and encrypt the wallet and then unlock it only for minting(menu item). The coins mature in 20 days and will begin trying to stake if you do not move them during that time.

Great post thundertoe. Yeah Tek is rather unique in that it's one of the very few really good sha PoS coins and that it rewards it's holders handsomely. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

thanks for the help guys im proud to say zeitcoin is my first proof of stake coin so im learning all this for the first time. it appears i had 5 incoming transactions on 4/4/14. today i had 4 stakes accepted and 3 orphan. so i guess i only missed one real stake.

Grats man. It's fun to watch the coins pile up over time without the hassle of mining hardware to produce them. Don't worry about the orphans, any coins that did not stake will keep trying until they do and when they do you'll receive additional compensation based on coinage. It's all good. Smiley
