Is anyone else getting the feeling this this is an outright scam? As in a take the money and run scam?..
i dont think they can disapear like that..

If they can make a pink pony coming out of a bag of weed and laugh like that , they can pull this one also.

Personally I think you'd be nuts to throw away coins on getting your jollies, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

Don't get me wrong in this one.
I'm just doing my research on bitcoin adoptions and use.
And I had an argument with the sexcoin fans , which only have a store using that crypto.

I inquired about SR also in the past, although I haven't smoked at least once in my life , not talking about drugs.
14464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should be happy tyranny is allergic to bitcoin, not sad. on: December 26, 2013, 10:17:58 AM
Crypto anarchy is real and in existence

1. An anarchic currency used in a different form of government isn't an anarchy the same way that china isn't capitalistic despite allowing the occasional capitalist endeavour.
2. Governments are already moving to regulate bitocoin
3. Bitcoin is not an anarchy, it is a democracy (not a constitutional republic in that if 51% vote to just steal money from X to give to Y it happens, there are no protection against it). Furthermore, unlike traditional democracies where people each get a vote, in bitcoin the vote is based on hashpower, which is extremely easy to centralize thanks to ASICs.

When did I say bitcoin was anarchy? It's a protocol.

1. Is the united states capitalistic even though it has non capitalistic properties? Social security, strategic restrictions, etc.

2. Governments can't regulate corrupt bankers, money laundering, gun running, the drug trade, etc. They might try, and sometimes be successful. That doesn't do much though.

3. Bitcoin is a protocol. I don't think bitcoin centralization is very likely. Although time will certainly tell. Bitcoin is one protocol, there can and will be others.

1. No, in the year 2013 the united states is a heavily socialist country that is rapidly embracing communism, dismantling its rule of law, dismantling its protections against tyranny, and sinking ever deeper into corruption.
The way you phrased your "question" was rather condescending and suggests I am "just picking on china" which shows you completely missed my actual point

2. Governments are the source and the method of corruption. They do regulate, they regulate towards corruption.

3. You need a better argument than "bitcoin is a protocol". The bitcoin protocol is a protocol, bitcoin is a cryptocurency AND also unit within said cryptocurency. Then you have the bitcoin network and the bitcoin software stack. But none of this semantics actually addresses any arguments

May I ask you where you live?
Because I lived in a communist country for enough time to realize USA is not going communist.
14465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 26, 2013, 10:13:41 AM
Is there a website like blockchain.info with all the graphs?
If not , I'm interested in the hasrate evolution and number of transaction graphs. For a longer period , at least 1 month.

Anything like that?
14466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Graincoin Blockchain Fork Took 1 Million Coin on: December 26, 2013, 10:09:44 AM

Why?
Any real reasons for it?
What makes it so special and unique?
What features does it have? Who are the devs behind it? Somebody using it?  Merchants accepting it?

Any of this?
Or just create coin , mine the shit out of it , pump and dump , next coin?

its fun to mine, its not being instamined, the premine will be managed effectively.

giveaways, superblocks, PoS steaks, good name, good community

will be developing into something great, just because not all coins are good doesn't mean all new coins are bad.

imo the settings of the coin are good for transactions, and it makes a great coin for testing your rigs out if you aren't into mining new coins.

I think if things continue along smoothly this coin has a good chance of making exchange, and longer term, being a stable member of the crypto currency market. check it out, the 30 second block time and total coins produced are good choices, the PoS @ 5% is a good choice.

I just think its a good coin setup compared to some of the other trash ive seen.

also everyone knows you always go all in on grain.

I hear the same thing about the all the alt coins. And so many times I feel like seeing a copy paste message.
Fun to mine? What the hell is that? Starting the cgminer and watching fans is fun?
It's either poor marketing or you guys need to go out more.

As for the rest of what you said , 30 sec block? we have at least 10 coins doing the same , also 10 with 15 seconds , 10 with 60 seconds in less than a year will have 10 with 29 seconds and 10 with 32 seconds.

For the second bolded part.
Why is graincoin better than ..doge?
WITH FACTS! No community , fun bla bla non sense for catching noobs for your pump and dump schemes.
FACTS!!!!!!!!

14467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin network cost is OK now, but may soon be hugely wasteful on: December 26, 2013, 09:57:00 AM
To start an attack on the bitcoin network (51%) you need around 4000 Neptunes right now.
That would lead to around 50 millions , if bought directly not production cost.
And the cost would be 1mil/month.

So , is the bitcoin network such an expensive and wasteful thing?
By comparison one of the banks in my country , 5th by importance was paying 5 millions euros per year as rent for their main branch office.
Let's multiply this by at least 5x for all the subsidiaries , by 5x for all the top 5 banks , and taking into account the size of my country by 300x for the world.

And , we're talking rent here , not electricity.

tits for btc?

full of girls already doing it on cams...

You mean by that that there is a videochat website taking bitcoin tips?
Not interested in the nudity or the adult stuff but this is one type of business everyone was talking about good it would be to  incorporate bitcoin payments but I haven't seen any till now.

They will get some free promotion if they started accepting BTC

There are a couple I believe. google Cam4BTC. Think the guy posts on here.

Well , it's not working for me , I mean there is nothing to do on the website or I'm doing something wrong.

Ps. i searched for and read about it on another thread , 200vists /day is a bit of a joke.

I haven't been on the sites, but I'm sure there are others, or will be soon.

Yeah , I was searching for a few of those as an example in another discussion but couldn't find any real website , with enough customers to fit .
My guess is that there isn't any adult well established website dealing with bitcoins right now.
14469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should be happy tyranny is allergic to bitcoin, not sad. on: December 26, 2013, 09:35:52 AM
In a way the Chinese are lucky that they are not in an environment of hybrid payment systems. Their Bitcoin economy will grow on a bitcoin to bitcoin basis instead of a bitcoin to bitcoin converted to government money basis.

Please enlighten me how the Bitcoin economy will grow in China in the crippled way it's now.
The only model I see viable to grow is SR.

Also , china was more about trading than the rest of the world. We have people paying with btc for goods here , not in China. In China we had traders and speculators that flocked because of the 0.0 trading fees , nothing more.

It will grow slowly for sure. But it will grow in a way that separates Bitcoin from the government currency.

We have people paying with btc for goods here which are then converted to dollars for most of the sites using something like BitPay. Sure it helps to grow the economy faster, but we still have to work toward having a bitcoin to bitcoin economy.

When you say people paying for goods "here" you mean US and Europe I assume.
Cause right now , merchants in China will not do this anymore , at least taking this into account:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1ssw8v/china_for_now_will_not_allow_goods_and_services/
Of course , nobody really know what the Chinese gov really said but I assume this is the best interpretations.

So , bitcoin economy in china is.... bye bye
14470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Graincoin Blockchain Fork Took 1 Million Coin on: December 26, 2013, 09:30:43 AM
this thread will be updated when the issue is resolved.

I will just go ahead and say that if this guys coins are missing as a result of the fork directly that he will be taken care of.

also, every new coin starts somewhere, devs fixed the coin quickly when it broke and minimal impact on balances, its now working great.

while it is risky to get into new coins early, in this case tx42 picked the right new coin to jump on board with. Smiley

all aboard the grain train, wooo woooooooo

---

if you want to make $$ mining, get on the train. just aim a little hashing at it, you will thank me later.

What do u guys think about skycoin

An interesting coin Smiley (I'm ironic here).
Clone of NXT principle , let's forget of mining , we "mine" or created it all from the start and sell them all to stupid people.

Skycoin's gonna' fly--the sky's the limit! By the way, if you wanna' join up on Ecrypto, be a bro and use this link:

http://ecrypto.net?ref=405

You can trade NXT there, I think!

Why should it fly? Any real reasons for it? Not the name and not another story about the famous devs behind it.
Also , I liked how your fer link got broken. Wink

China.. China... China. Is not a democracy. I never understood why people were so happy to learn about China's love for bitcoin. Suddenly the country that is happy to see Tibetan Monks on fire became Disney World. We have our iPads and Galaxy S4 so we are happy.

You can go to torrentfreak and read the comments on the article that Thepiratebay has moved to North Korea.
Lots of people started to congratulate KImJongBong and his ideas . Why ? Because they "did" something that was convenient for them.

Same as China madness here.
People started congratulating China just because of one thing. The price boom. The rest? They didn't care a bit!
They didn't even bother to check how China economy works , why they keep their yuan in check and why bitcoin woudn't not be a solution for them.

Money and wealth before ideals.
14475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price at end of 2014? on: December 26, 2013, 09:01:46 AM
If its the same distance to the exponential trendline as now the price would be at roughly $7000. If its at the trendline the price will be roughly $2500, and if its at the bottom trendline it will be around $750. The most optimistic value would be $10000. If there is a S-kurve developing, there can be no resonable upper price limit imho. So basically more than $750 and less than infinite (probaly less than $10000).

Less than infinite? You are a genius sir Smiley

It will become infinity when $ dies (not next year)  Wink

1) $ isn't the only currency in the world. Hardly the most important these days.

2) Learn something about infinity before applying it to ..... anything.

So , which is the most important in your view?
Because by the way you said that , there are a lot more important that $ and I really can't figure them out.

Ltc and now Lambos Smiley

359 posts in a month, yet still lack a clue.

yeah... LTC is pretty much the same as the premine Ripple, I mean Quark.

Let me know when I can buy Lambo's with LTC. When that happens I will get one more.

I know how people can easily change their view on something , that's why I was asking.
Although I read a lot of your post before signing up (lets cut 50% of the choo choos) I never came across specifically about Max Keiser , or I haven't look into it (my bad).

As an example , PP is evil, is bad is gonna go extinct , and when the the news come that one of the directors holds some bitcoins > pp is gonna embrace bitcoin , hurray hurray Smiley.

About the ltc , lambo thing , considering it teasing Smiley))

PP is evil eh? You got that from me telling people not to use pay pal to trade btc? you still do not understand why this is a bad idea? Hmmm.....

What a n00b.

I was talking about how peoples view of PP can change easily. And how people who hate paypal , when they get their first BTC they want to sell it for pp money forgetting how they have criticized pp in the past.

It was an example how the view of somebody on something can change. Just how your respect of Mister Quak here changed recently.

As for trading pp > btc , its' not a bad idea if you're the one paying with PP and the other send first Smiley , am I right?

14477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will I be able to use Bitcoins at the mall in 2014??? on: December 26, 2013, 08:52:45 AM
Bitcoin-hotep for sure you should be able to use bitcoins in malls, restaurants and every other place you may think of. And these bitcoins won’t be used in one single country but they would be accepted worldwide so next time you won’t have to go for exchanging your currency before travelling to other country

Want to take a bet for this to be happening in 2014?
Cause I really doubts there will be lots of places you can spend your bitcoins in malls or other stores everywhere in the world.

Thanks stompix for vouching that I'm not a kook. All is well, for now....

BTW, no one knows who the devs for bitcoin are, so I don't know what knd of standard that should be.

You probably think about the one and only Satoshi Nakamoto.
But for the rest , you can find them here:

Transparent enough?
14480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin network cost is OK now, but may soon be hugely wasteful on: December 26, 2013, 08:37:36 AM
Imagine that the price of BTC reached $1,000,000 USD on January of 2016. The block reward will still be 25 BTC, meaning that every day, 3.6 billion dollars worth of bitcoins is distributed to miners. Miners would be expected to spend almost 3.6 billion dollars per day to mine these coins. That's 1.3 trillion dollars per year, or almost 2% of the wealth produced globally every year (as of right now).

First of all, a probably more relevant comparison would be to the amount of money in circulation (M0), which is ~$10T.
This means, that at 1.3T per year, Bitcoin represents ~13% of the global wealth.

At these levels, governments power are much weakened, and as a result their spending is cut.
Governments typically spend anywhere between 40-70% of the GDP.

On top of government, we have financial institutions which coercively trade with our money, without paying dividends.

So we pay 2%, but get smaller and more efficient governments, and shrinked financial institutions in return.
I'd say the saving potential is dramatic.

You assume that bitcoin will replace money , but it's not like that right now and it's not heading in that direction too fast either.
Right now , you can see the bitcoin value more like an oil field getting discovered and explored.

This currency commodity investment puzzle has to come to an end but it won't be that fast.
