When a coin market has a fixed number of coins, its value increses and decreases with the amount of BTC diposited/withdrawn from the coin. The more BTC people deposit into doge the more its value is. When a coin market contines "printing new money"(mining new coins), the amount of BTC invested has to continuesly grow in order to keep its current value. My question is...what makes you think that in a few weeks/months people will start investing MAJORRRR btc in this coin? *for the record I do have about 1m doge that im holding on to. 1 - DOGE has seen $8 million (or 11,000 BTC) of market volume in last 24 hours. - DOGE was mentioned by Reserve Bank of India along with BTC and LTC in their recent press release. 2 - No other coin in the history of cryptos has reached 4 major exchanges within 2 weeks of it's launch. - All memes that come onto the internet mostly are born in reddit, 4chan, etc. So, this forum is not a good place to track DOGE's progress. The sub-reddit of doge (/r/dogecoin) has crossed the total member count of Litecoin's sub-reddit only behing Bitcoin's. Today, it was selected as the fastest growing sub-reddit and awarded "Sub-reddit of the day" - A Starbucks cafe based in South California, USA just started accepting DOGE. 3 - As of today, 50% newbies are coming to crypto because of DOGE (confirmed) 4 - DOGE is has climbed to 35% of network hashrate of Litecoin. If this doesn't convince you, nothing can 1 false , show proofs 2 false , there are more coins that did that , and one of them even faster (buts it's just as stupid as doge or even worse so i won't advertise it here) 3 false , can't prove that 4 false , common  get some glasses |

What's so special about earthcoin apart from being...premined?
pre mined is used and wil be used for promotions, give-away's and investments ect ect its fast in all things , mining coins, wallet is fast wen starting up, transactions almost lightning speed, so what do you want more ? transaction speed is a primary cool and the succeed in it ! deleted beggingIf you give in promotions 1% of the premined coins , that's called a scam or a damn lie. |

I agree that many of the alt-coins do not and will not provide any lasting added value to digital currencies. So many of them just seem to be projects that have been made for fun. Since most of these currencies seem to derive their value from bitcoin they can provide a legitimate value in someway since you are trading them and their value against the as the standard. Regardless of what currency it is this inherently adds value to the standard coin. This can be viewed in a way that is similar to International currencies all being measured against US dollar. Bitcoin is the US dollar and the other currencies are like the UK pound this Spanish dollar, or the Papua New Guinea Kina. The more alt currencies there are, the more legitimate bit coin becomes. There is also value in a simple meme as has been proved with Dogecoin. the OP is in my opinion correct in saying that you should be cautious when dealing with some of these alternatives but that does not mean that they do not have inherent value.
You're wrong on this. Right now the cryptos are like visa , mastercard, discovery etc etc. And , do you use visa to pay for gas , mastercard for groceries and discovery for condoms? Count out the promo offers they might have at a few stores. Also , take a look at what happened in Europe. One single currency that simplified a lot when your travel and make purchases. I had a bag of coins and small paper change from my visits prior to that which i could only spend if I went back to France of Spain. Now I don't have to think about this anymore. |

I think Dogecoin will be pretty much dead in a few months.
While I wish it to lose some importance , I don't really want it to die as it will have a negative effect. But also , don't underestimate the power and madness of 4chan. I didn't know 4chan is behind this.But why Dogecoin?The Doge meme is most popular on 9gag and on Hugelol. 9gag is different from 4chan. And the only way to understand it is by joining it , but that is one path to darkens ). 4chan tends to be more like a community than 9gag which was a post wall and hasn't evolved too much from. I've just about had enough of cryptsy. The lags and delays and constant issues are a joke. I'm just tired of being p****d off.
I like cryptsy, I like the interface and I think it could do well as a trading tool rather than an exchange.
I used CoinedUp yesterday for a few trades. Deposits came in on time, confirmed on time. Trades went through in a timely fashion, then I withdrew my bounty back to my wallet. It took ~1 hour. On Cryptsy I would have to budget about 1-2 days to complete that set of work (anything under 24 hours is a bonus on cryptsy).
I love you cryptsy, but I'm gone. Give me a call when you've got your act together.
Wait till coinedup has the same users and volumes as cryptsy. I bet the same problems will show up. |
