5781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? on: March 15, 2020, 11:50:49 AM
Only sports events are getting cancelled or postponed. People who were into betting can come out it if they want to but those who gamble with other games can still carry on. Only through self realisation you can stop your addiction. Untill then keep doing what you love the most.
5782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction threads on: March 15, 2020, 11:48:09 AM
This thread reminds me a out my habit but it does not bothers me as I am not a compulsive gambler. I gamble for fun and when I feel I should have a little bit of enjoyment. I do not gamble daily therefore it is okay for me.
5783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game on: March 15, 2020, 11:45:38 AM
It took 5 years for Japan to prepare for the Olympics, huge amount of funds have been invested into the preparation, if the Olympics is postponed or cancel it will bring severe economic problem to the country.

I am sure they will never cancel it but postponed it for the time being. They do not have any other choice.
5784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World on: March 15, 2020, 11:41:40 AM
Yes that possibility will happen, Casinos are very popular among the gamblers because of the interaction and you're more immerse in gambling, Lung cancer is a common thing in the casino because of the place is very enclosed and the air just circulates around it and covid will definitely spread if there is a infected among them, so they will rather go into digital gambling or online gambling rather than going to casino, and it's a good thing to crypto and to the world.

I support online gambling casinos but gambling casinos will also suffer from this epidemic, they employ a lot of people, many business thrive in gambling casinos and they are paying huge tax to the country where they operate, I hope everybody will get back to their business and this goes to gambling casinos too, they play important rules to country where they operate.

I think both online and offline casino will suffer from this epidemic. Basically no one wants to spend fiat at the moment as in time of crisis you will need money to live on. Bitcoin casinos will suffer as fist value of Bitcoin has gone down considerably, they need Fiat to run their operation. Because of the damm virus everyone will suffer directly or indirectly.
5785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Site to advertise or promote bounty on: March 15, 2020, 09:33:14 AM
It is better to promote your projects on websites like coinzilla, cointikka, coinzutra or coinfunda. They all have been in this field for more tan a year. They have build their reputation and traffic with their articles and network.

Why advertise on a new website like the one quoted by the OP.

I heard corona will slack off in April and bitcoin halving will be near too, I believe in April bitcoin will again boom.

From where did you hear this news, I mean what is the source?

If you think that the rise in temperature only will killl the virus then you need to read this article.https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/03/warmer-weather-slow-spread-coronavirus-200310050819610.html

I am still certain that it will take its own time but we need to put in place preventive measures to fight this damm virus.
5787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Smart Contract Money Making Programs - Risk Free? on: March 15, 2020, 09:09:31 AM
Very recently, some Smart Contract Income Opportunities have become popular. Most of them involve Person to Person transactions where you pay 0.1 ETH to your upline and you receive 2 payments of 0.1 ETH when you sign up 2 direct referrals or you receive them via spillover.

They are promoted as risk free, decentralised and members in full control.

My question to the knowledgeable ones here is, can such smart contracts be manipulated where the owners of the program can divert a transaction to their address?

Also, can the owners of the programs end the smart contract whenever they wish and run off with money acquired by somehow diverting several hundred transactions to their address.

Please help me understand the reality of such programs, thank you.

Isn't that a chain system you are paying to join this program but you get paid when you join others to this system. Sound like a scam in the making. I will certainly avoid such programs. It is kind of an MLM system and people should avoid it.

5789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] COVID-19 Hits Ethereum Community Conference, Six People Test Positive on: March 15, 2020, 08:39:15 AM
Very sad to hear that few people have been affected by the virus. Everyone who was present there should get their test done. Why was it not postponed or cancelled. March is the month when it started to spread in Europe.

I pray for their early recovery.
5790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Woman Funding ISIS With Bitcoin on: March 15, 2020, 08:16:41 AM
Well nothing has changed since 2017. There are people who are supporting terrorism using cryptocurrencies. Eventually they will be caught and put behind bars but, in the meantime Bitcoin will get a bad reputation.

All that money that she had sent has now been flushed to the drain after the collapse of ISIS.
5791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from centralized wallets on: March 15, 2020, 07:40:39 AM
Those who have been in this forum for more than a year now should know by now to avoid exchange wallets and those that don't give access to the Private key. Still you will find one individual creating a topic and explaining the same as he or she did not listen to anyone here in the forum.

Store your crypto in your wallet for which you have access to the private key.
5792  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Useful trading tools on: March 15, 2020, 07:25:07 AM
Binance info (https://info.binance.com/) is a great alternative to Messari. Coingecko is also a better source for coin market cap and liquidity compared to CMC for now imo.

Coingecko is far much better than CMC know. The worst part about CMC is that it takes long time to load because of the advertisment s. I personally have been using Coingecko now.

Some other tools that can be added to the above list are
Trading Santa - trading bot which is free
Cointracking - crypto portfolio tool.
5793  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that Corona Virus may effect trading? on: March 15, 2020, 07:18:40 AM
I do not see any reason for it to affect trading. The panic in the market was created by the whales and to a large extent small investors are also to be blamed for it. At the moment it has recovered quite a bit and hopefully it will recover more in the next 10 to 12 days.
5794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can the market stand this trial on: March 15, 2020, 06:33:06 AM
Perhaps you should try looking at the bitcoin history as a good example.
From 20k to 3k and then back to 14k and then 6k again.
That should explain everything.
Remember that it is still in a volatile market and it will happen for a long time.
Maybe even at the time when we are not breathing anymore.

But if you have stable coins then it wont be a problem. Stay with that and you wont see any drop in value.  Grin

So far this is the good answer to the question of the OP and it will be satisfied most of the users who ask this kind of question. On my side, there will be no doubt that the market will recover from this crisis and everything will gonna be just fine. If you see some people rushing to sold their Altcoins in the midst of this crisis, don't join them and let it slide now. maybe after this month, everything will return back to normal.

Quoting the above two as the best answer for anyone who has any doubts about the existing situation. Things were far worse after than what we are seeing now in early 2018. I remember febuary 2018 Bitcoin price went below $3k and it went back to $14k after few months.
5795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is fake shit on: March 15, 2020, 06:18:12 AM
Look their are pros and cons to everything. If you have only faced the worst side of cryptocurrency market then it does not mean everyone here has faced the same.

No body has asked to invest or trade in Cryptocurrency, you did it and you should have done you own research before doing it. You are responsible for your own shit, we are not, so stop blaming .
5796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Exactly Caused The New Drop Of Crypto? on: March 15, 2020, 06:12:11 AM
Just in few days now we have been experiencing unthinkable massive market drop, it seems something happened which I did not hear off. Please anyone here to tell me what exactly happened to the market?

Thanks.

First reason is whales manipulating the market. The second reason global economy meltdown. The third reason fear of the damm virus. Fourth reason panic selling by retail investor.

Situation might get worse so, be prepared.
5797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would a global recession affect cryptocurrencies? on: March 15, 2020, 05:43:09 AM
A small economic meltdown has already shown its effect in the present crypto market. Considering a global meltdown its effect will be the same for cryptocurrency market too.

I definitely do not want this to happen but when it happens I will sell everything and reserve fiat.
5798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 15, 2020, 05:38:33 AM
I am afraid about my job as well. The markets are collapsing and many of the companies are a few weeks away from bankruptcy.
This is very worrying. Economy almost in every country is affected by this virus spreading and it does not seem that we will recover this situation very soon. This virus is taking over the world like a big storm I guess. Good thing is that it spreads from person to person in close proximity. So as long as you are extra careful you are safe.

The coronavirus - known as COVID-19 - spreads from person to person in close proximity, similar to other respiratory illnesses, such as the flu.
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/01/coronavirus-spread-protect-200130115539072.html

We need more people to be aware of the situation and protect themselves.

Go to espncricinfo.com and you will feel that you are in a ghost town LOL. Everywhere it's corona, rescheduled and postponed :-D

@vishnu.reang don’t worry you won’t loose your job, even though the global economy has taken a beating but I’m pretty sure that it’ll improve in the long turn, and till then avoid unnecessary expenses and save money wherever you can. @Royse777 it’s just not espn all the sportsbook sites are blank because all the events are cancelled, and I also feel that the ICC test championship will also have to be canceled because ICC won’t be able to schedule any Test matches for quiet a while now.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019–21_ICC_World_Test_Championship#2020

This is just a temporary phase and the situation will get in control within due time. I heard that Israeli scientists have claimed to find a cure. Within couple of months, things will get to normal. @vishnu.reang do not worry you will not lose your job.
5799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 15, 2020, 05:19:42 AM
Every cricket event went down the drain and postponed for time being, except PSL i guess and the way things moving forward we can say TATA to cricket or any other major sporting event for at least 1 month, may be more.
And more importantly TATA to sports gambling? This will be boring although I am not a regular gambler. No more known sports to bet. Bookies will face a significant down in their revenue too. I can this going to be continue longer than one month.

For a couple of months, gamblers will be out of their addiction for a change due to the natural disaster but the gambling economy will be impacted greatly. I personally was looking forward to IPL betting but I feel this year it will not happen.

Things have gone from bad to worst in India.
5800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coronavirus is ravaging a large portion of cryptocurrencies. Is this permanent? on: March 13, 2020, 08:47:18 PM
You cannot entirely blame that the current situation has happened because of the damm virus. Market is still being manipulated by the whales. In just 24 hours Bitcoin was down by 39% and then it came back to 27%. This nothing but pump and dump strategy by the whales.

Because of this dump and pump the whole cryptocurrency market is now suffering.
