1241  Other / Off-topic / Re: Way to prevent someone reselling code on: July 30, 2014, 01:26:20 AM
You could encrypt the code, but anyone with a few hours of time can reverse it fairly easy. You could add a few "call home" calls to check against a license db. Again, some time spent in the code they can null the calls. I'm not sure of the nature of the script, but some scripts can be uses a SaaS. Run the core code on your own server.
Of course I could do that, check their license against my database, but they can just delete that part of the code and separate it from my licensing system. A good solution is to actually run their script on my servers, but on their domain, so basically they just tell me what they want, and then they simply use their domain on my webserver, and then their site works, but sadly no one would want that because that would require me to change something whenever they wanted to change something.
1242  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price are you going to cash out your BTC stash on: July 30, 2014, 01:24:43 AM
I think i'll never cash out ALL my Bitcoins since i believe Bitcoin is like the internet on 1980s.
But once it reach 2000$, 5000$, or 10000$ i'll sell some to have fun Cheesy
I hope it hits 1,000,000$, then I will be rich, but the problem is is getting it back to fiat. Of course I will be able to spend it which is nice, but bitcoin might not be able to be used on insurance or homes or cars by the time it hits 1,000,000$, but that far in the future, anythings possible.
1243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin overcome the actual currency? will the wolrd bank allow it? on: July 30, 2014, 01:23:38 AM
last couple of months i've noticed bitcoin is already running in some places, industry and even money transactions like foriegn exchange. the usage of bitcoin is still growing. you cannot call bitcoin as a legal tender says the IRS, but if bussinessmen and some people in high industry countinue using crypto-currency there's a posibility that someday it may
Of course its possible, and the world bank wouldn't want it to happen, but if the world decides to use bitcoin and stops using fiat, then it will overcome. The way that bitcoin will overcome is for the public to see its true values and reasons of creation, instead of seeing only bad things on the news. Bitcoin also needs to see some more company adoption, other than the tech industry (Dell.com, newegg, tigerdirect accept it now). Starbucks accepting would be cool, integrated with their starbucks card, fast would would be nice, just about everything would be better with bitcoin.

Why were my messages deleted?
Mine were too. The thread is sadly self-moderated, so people thinking of investing should be careful, as the thread is not transparent.
1245  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price are you going to cash out your BTC stash on: July 30, 2014, 01:19:31 AM
I would probably cash out/spend my money if it hit 1000, and keep the other half in cold storage for a very long time, to see how much that increases. Currently I try not to spend my BTC, because I feel that it will be worth a lot in the future, and instead of buying that 1 GPU, in the future I could by 10 of the same GPU with the same amount of bitcoin. I get a sinking feeling when I spend my bitcoin, because it was worth twice as much a while ago.
1246  Economy / Economics / Re: Please stop with mBTC, microBTC, ...! on: July 30, 2014, 01:16:47 AM
Question, if we ended up using satoshi (in the future) as a normal payment, maybe even up to a dollar or a cent, then what would the transaction fees be. If for example a coffee costed 2 satoshi, the lowest possible fee could be 1 satoshi since that is the smallest BTC amount possible. Would we create more decimals?

A satoshi being worth more than a few cents is so unlikely as to not even be something to worry about. If a satoshi = $1 then 1 BTC = $100,000,000 and the Bitcoin money supply would be $2.1 quadrillion (many multiples of all the money in the world).   Even under the most dubiously optimistic scenarios (i.e. Bitcoin replaces most or all national currencies) a saotshi would still be worth no more than a few pennies (circa 2014 USD in purchasing power).
Ok, so then a satoshi being worth a cent would be extremely likely. That means a bitcoin would be worth 1 million dollars, which would be very likely and it would be a good number, and that means a satoshi would be worth a cent, which perfectly matches up to the USD, making it easy to estimate conversions. Also bitcoin being worth a total of 2.1 trillion dollars is very likely, because currently the amount of fiat in the US is around that, probably a bit more, but right away bitcoin wouldn't replace fiat fully.

Hello, I am a programmer who owns lots of code to sell, and I have made a few sales already. One guy has bought the script, but is trying to resell the exact same thing on satoshibox.com and this forum. The site is made up of php, mysql, and html. I was wondering of a way to prevent someone from copying this code and giving it to someone else. I was thinking about providing keys out to people, and if the key matched a key stored on a mysql server, the code would be unlocked, but the people could just look at my mysql information and gain access to that, or they could delete the part of the file where it would match their key to the key on the database. Anyone have any ideas?
1248  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] DiceBitco.in | BE THE BANK ! | 1% House Edge | HIGH LIMITS | Instant ! on: July 30, 2014, 01:09:54 AM
I like the interface of your website, but its very similar to other sites. If you want your website to succeed, you must offer things that are unique to your website, and that set you apart to another website. You can't just make a clone of other websites, as they will use the more trusted popular website. For an example, if you dropped the house edge to the lowest on the market, you could attract a lot of people that way. If you offered an option to participate in a jackpot for every roll (for a small fee of course) where if you roll a specific number you get your winnings plus a large amount of BTC, that would be cool as well, bringing another element of luck and excitement into each bet. Good luck, I hope you succeed!
1249  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there room for a State Run Cryptocurrency? on: July 30, 2014, 01:03:25 AM
IMO cash is still safer than Bitcoin, cash cannot be traced by any means, Bitcoin could be traced with the correct knowledge. Probably a coin like Monero over i2p or so will be used as the next digital cash by the bad boys. Is this good or bad? I don't fucking know? as im a good guy.
You can lose cash by simply dropping it, but yes I agree with you in the sense that once you receive the cash, you don't know where it came from, as nothing is left on the bill to prove that. With bitcoin, you can trace the money all the way back to the block that it was created in. The problem with this is that you can see the balance of anyone, which I think is why people will hide their balances from their friends for privacy.
1250  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-29] CD: Arizona's First Bitcoin ATM Struck by Lightning on: July 30, 2014, 01:01:14 AM
Yea, I really hope that the bitcoins aren't stored on the atm, which would be really stupid cause someone could just open up the atm and take the private key. I would imagine that the atm is remotely controlling a wallet stored on a secure server somewhere. I think we can blame the illuminati  Wink

1252  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FAUCET on: July 30, 2014, 12:56:00 AM
Freebitco.in is the largest and most trusted faucet here (at least from what I know). They offer pretty good payouts, with a chance to win a massive payout by doing nothing, and you can also gamble your winnings, which is pretty fun. I think I've made about 0.01 over many months, from visiting every so often. Don't trust a faucet as a good source of income though, you will make pennies compared to other sources of income. If you wanted to make a good amount of money, look into learning languages like php and javascript, as you can put yourself for hire on these forums or reddit, and people will pay you good money to develop things for them. That's what I do to make money, on top of signature campaigns.
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which city will be the center of crypto currency on: July 30, 2014, 12:51:58 AM
Can't believe no one has mentioned Seattle. Such a liberal city, Surrounded by many high tech industries.

its in the US
The US is actually one of the friendlier countries towards bitcoin.
From what I've heard, Canada is nicer right? Toronto is a very large city that could potentially be good as a center, but again, bitcoin is DEcentralized, not centralized, meaning there can't be a definitive "center" for bitcoin. US has the income laws right? Bitcoins are taxed now aren't they?
1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor Cgminer & Sgminer on: July 30, 2014, 12:49:03 AM
If I still mined, I would use this. Too bad I can't make any money anymore, the difficulty is too high these days Tongue
1255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Buying Groceries...would you use BTC, GOOG or USD...? on: July 30, 2014, 12:47:40 AM
I do spend my coin but I am wiser about spending then with fiat. I guess in the back of my mind I and always thinking the coin could go up and then I have overpaid for this item. For example I would rather spend $5 paypal on fiverr then to send them my bitcoin. I know that fiat will never double so it is a safe way to pay. There is a chance that bitcoin could rise and tomorrow I could have overpaid. I guess you could argue tomorrow bitcoin could be worth nothing and I got a great deal. I'm just optimistic i guess Smiley
OMG thats exactly what I do! I think of bitcoin as worth 1000$ all the time, because I just know in my gut that it will hit that price again, and I refrain from buying things because it is worth only 60% than it usually is worth. I'd way rather spend my fiat than bitcoin today, because I know that it can't double tomorrow, whereas bitcoin has a chance.
1256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Buying Groceries...would you use BTC, GOOG or USD...? on: July 30, 2014, 12:45:30 AM
you could always divide your stash into a long term holding stash and a short term spending stash.
whatever purchasing power you would use to buy products for the short term using fiat currency you could just buy with bitcoin instead.
What I used to do (while mining was profitable) is put half into my cold storage, and half into my hot wallet where I could buy stuff. Cold storage is still not used, and I will never use it (I want to hold onto it until bitcoin reaches a massive price, then I will sell).
1257  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BTC Gambling Script w/ Bootstrap Provably fair (Affiliates) INVEST FEATURE!! on: July 29, 2014, 11:32:34 PM
If you ever get this converted to daemon let me know!
I am considering converting it into a daemon as we speak, because its a bit simpler, but I really need to figure out how to get new transactions using a daemon. Blockchain has a good free daemon server, but theres no walletnotify feature so I have to work on impletementing listtransactions into my script.
I am the creator of this script by the way, and Acoin is my official salesman
1258  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Sell BTC Gambling Script w/ Bootstrap Provably fair only price 0.05BTC!! on: July 29, 2014, 10:29:32 PM
Am i correct in assuming this is a copy of this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=712125.0
This is a stolen copy of the original script that Acoin and I are selling. Do NOT purchase from this seller.

Why not just lower your prices anyways, you will get so much more sales.
Haha,
The script that this guy is selling does not match the size of the script we used to sell (the one that he stole was old), so hes probably selling a virus. Anyways we have updated our scripts a lot, and now we have an automated invest features, and a provably fair system, and used a daemon, instead of relying on blockchains service. His script was extremely old.
1259  Economy / Gambling / Re: LuckyBit - putting suspense back into gambling on: July 29, 2014, 10:27:26 PM
hey man, i lost some money gambling too. thats the game man. You win some but you lose most. that's why i stopped gambling and limit myself to a few times a month max. gambling can be an addiction if you aren't careful.
Especially on a site like luckyb.it  Wink
Gambling is designed to make you lose over time, so if you find you have made a profit, stop right now, and quit while you are ahead. Probability shows that if you keep going you will usually lose that money.
1260  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BTC Gambling Script w/ Bootstrap Provably fair (Affiliates) INVEST FEATURE!! on: July 29, 2014, 10:22:08 PM
I am the original creator of this script, and I approve that Acoin is selling the legitimate version, and I am getting paid for selling this. This is the ONLY legitimate version of the script that I approve of, and anything else is stolen from us. You can view a demo at cryptobets.co/coinflip
