Hi guys, I used bitcoin-qt as my bitcoin wallet and I forgot to setup a password So today I checked my wallet and a very small amount of bitcoins were stolen: https://blockchain.info/de/address/1CPEdjFu6TaZpPFGQ81zHaW7prtJ1pk8LVIs there any chance I get these BTC back? Or do I have to pay to learn the lesson? After that, I moved to multibit and saved it on several USB-Sticks with a strong password using KeyPass obfuscating. Is there anything else I have to take care of? Thx for your help! Regards Mix it and send to a complete different address stored on a USB stick. There is no way you will get your money back unless the thief sends it back for some reason.

On a side note, has anyone tried decrypting a bitcoin private key or something in sha256? I have no idea what it would do
Unclear what you're asking. Hash functions, like sha256, are theoretically one-way: so you can't go the other way or "decrypt" them. If you take a private key and pass it to sha256, you will get another hash of random characters. I worded that wrong. I think its possible (takes a lot of work) to brute force it or something, but I really don't know. It would be pretty cool if like some transaction data would be stored in that hash.

it is best to used a computer that will never go online and also make sure to have internet security software such as Bit Defender or Kaspersky
Don't even use a computer. Use a paper wallet generated offline. That is the safest. is there any guide to use paper wallet m8 ? https://www.bitaddress.org/Turn off your internet as soon as it loads the page, then click generate paper wallet. pretty good...but not 100% safe. still theoretically possible for virus to manipulate results. Safer is to load the Js code onto a true cold machine. Agreed. I don't know if the site works on a phone, but buying a cheap android phone and generating it off of that would be a good decision as well.

Their monitors are the best. They have very cheap very good quality consumer monitors (I am currently on a s2340l as I am typing this), and they also have the best professional photo/video editing monitors.
yeah i was going to buy one of their refurbished IPS monitors, but mine started working again magically. i always hear these great things about those dell monitors, but i guess i don't need it now. Been on two Dell IPS monitors since 2010 and they still work great. They do make some great monitors, although I think the OEM panels are from LG. I don't think Dell actually makes any of their parts inhouse. The only gripe I have with these monitors is that in this day and age, there were no HDMI I can't vouch for any of their mainstream consumer PCs though. Those are generally crap parts inside. Yea mine is 1080p IPS 23 inch glossy. Its a beauty. Sad thing is it came with a VGA cable.

Just seen that I got my payment again. Keep up the good work. Hope that one day the max post count gets lifted and increased as I would like to do more posting even tho I am way under limits already however would be nice for hero members to get a little extra benefits Post count is massive already. Up to 0.48 BTC per month is the max possible (400 posts as a hero member or above) which is a lot of money.

Bitsky won't get any interest. Unfortunately, his Bitcoin will "disappear"
My point is that if he really has no access to private keys, then for him coins in my wallet aren't any different than coins at his website. Ergo, he can just pay the daily interest directly to my address too without me having to transfer them. Exactly, if you read through the btc-banker thread you can see he has direct access to the private keys. Here's more evidence that he's the same person who ran the scam site btc-banker.com. Here's the cached version of btc-banker.com (The original was taken down) Here's the current bitcoin-h.com website. Notice any similarities? Haha. Bitsky, you still investing? It would be nice if you would invest like 0.01 to see if its legit. I would chip in 0.005
