1281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should I do with over $4-5 worth in BTC? on: July 29, 2014, 02:46:14 AM
Forget about it.
Come back after 3 years.  Smiley
Thats actually a good idea, forgot about that. Try holding onto your 5$, and if bitcoin hits one million dollars, you will have 8000$ (I think that is a good estimation?), which is awesome, but that might be a couple more years.
1282  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you guys play on your own? on: July 29, 2014, 02:44:40 AM
Has anyone tried the BF Hardline beta yet? I know it ended but it was a pretty fun game. Like cops and robbers. What did you guys think about it.
1283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Satoshi will ever spend his bitcoins? on: July 29, 2014, 02:42:46 AM
I think when BTC is worth a bit more he may start to hand it out to exchanges, charities, and other businesses, just to fuel bitcoin even more. He doesn't seem like a very greedy guy.
1284  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you guys play on your own? on: July 29, 2014, 02:38:13 AM
I usually don't like to play games like DotA2 and BF4 by myself, as its not as fun as playing with your friends, because you can work together to set up plays, troll people, and have fun. Skyrim would be an example of a game that I play on my own, because its currently not possible to play with others Tongue
1285  Economy / Economics / Re: Is 1 bitcoin a decent and good investment? on: July 29, 2014, 02:35:53 AM
1 bitcoin would be a nice fun introduction to investing, seeing how it rises and drops and the ticker is easy to find. If you are going to get one, make sure you can afford to lose all 626$ of it. It could crash at any time, so only invest what you can afford to lose. Other than that, go ahead!
1286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which city will be the center of crypto currency on: July 29, 2014, 02:32:28 AM
This thread is kind of ironic, because bitcoin is supposed to be DE-centralized, when your asking what will be the center. There will never be a 'center of bitcoin' but there could be cities that happen to support bitcoin more than others.

Learn to program. If you know lots of programming languages early on in your life, you will open up a lot of well-paying jobs, and you can put yourself up for hire on reddit and this forum, and get paid lots of money depending on the size of the project.
Well, they're definitely going to be in high demand in the future. Since it's quite likey everyone will want to have their own thing programmed (which could, in turn, make a huge supply of programmers, needing to have people really stand out among others), it would create a lot of demand.

I can't recommend any languages, but you should try out HTML first. It's kind of simple, and will be a great place to start (It can also help you make your own website for your programming services)
For bitcoin purposes, you will need to know php, html, css I guess, and javascript. You also need to know how to use mysql databases. Those 4 languages (plus a database) are all you need for creating just about any bitcoin website, like an exchange, a gambling website, or a store.

Will there be any special event for the coming 300,000th bet? Cheesy
Maybe they will make the 300,000th bet a automatic win or something. Like automatically they win the maximum multiplier. That would be pretty cool, cause a hundred people would all be betting at one on the yellow or red and there would be so many balls falling down. The server might not even be able to handle it.

I do think that they might not do anything, but for 1 million an automatic maximum win would be a lot more probable.

Since we organized something for the 250k bet, we won't do anything special for the 300k th one.

@williamj2543 your idea would be fun for sure, be we cannot do that because the result would not be provably fair! All bets since the very beginning are provably fair and can be checked (we even released an open source software to do it for you!), and we want to keep it that way.

But we'll keep that in mind for the next big bet celebration, rewarding the winner with something proportional to his bet amount is a good idea.

Well, I don't really think a guy who's bet has been multiplied 999x cares if his bet is fair or not. I guess this would mess up the system a bit, but maybe you could just manually (after the bet has been made and rewarded) just multiply it by the max amount for it's color

A game kind of like Flappy birds, but with items and things to upgrade  Wink
Well, if he did develop flappy birds with items and things, it wouldn't be monetizable. Theres no way he could make money, just paying out a tiny amount, otherwise known as a faucet.

Good faucet good idea, and I like the checkin thing, but the time is really just a overlapping theme for generating a random number. Its kinda cool though, but a bit gimmicky.
1297  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Which game you would like to play for bitcoins? on: July 28, 2014, 07:42:25 PM
I think you should make them more of a 1v1 type game, I would enjoy that so much. A website where you pay 0.01 BTC (or higher or lower games) to match up against someone random, play against them, and if you win you get their bet as well, and maybe 1% is paid to the house as a fee. Chess, checkers, blackjack, rock paper scissors. I would donate 0.1 if you set that up.

What did you do to make this? How is data pulled from the forum servers?
Well I don't know how he did it exactly, but I did an html_dom, so basically I get text info from your profile page. It finds the post count, username, activity, address, etc. rows for the table, and finds the corresponding data in the next column over. OP, if you want a more accurate fast system I could show you mine, it doesn't take any time to load. Heres my currently working system: http://cryptobets.co/bitcointalkuser.php?id=191301
Thats my id, just replace it with yours after the question mark. Its more of a testing thing I did for a possible future signature campaign, and I could easily add a table or fancy graphics. Although I don't really know how the owner of the system on this thread got post history.
