Each transaction is mingled with the secret of the day
I see the secret is published the next day, but how do I know a secret wasn't changed depending on the results of the first bet of the day? Is there a hash of the secret published in advanced so that later when the secret is published it can be verified to be unchanged from before the wager was placed? |

I checked the address I ordered the coins to be sent to in blockchain.info and it shows empty. Then the problem is on VirWoX's side. They've not sent the bitcoins. The problem is, I can't alter the address I have sent money to on Virwox panel. It says the money has already been withdrawn. The blockchain is the truth. I believe I've read that they don't process bitcoin withdrawals right away for first-time purchases, and it could take a day. I've sent emails to virwox, How many business days have passed with no response? |

Yes, an online casino could do that but that is a one time occurrence and fatal for the casino (see John Corzine / MF Global). A casino that doesn't have crypto / provably fair has the ability to tip the odds just enough such that it is never noticed by the players. |

i am looking to pick up a 6970 specifically for mining.
Ever since the block reward subsidy halving a couple weeks ago, those who are still GPU mining of Bitcoin are either mining at a loss or are paying a really cheap rate (or free) for electricity. But even for those with cheap electricity, that characteristic is just delaying the inevitable -- the day the GPUs get powered down. This is because as soon as any one of the five ASIC manufacturers start shipping in quantity, not even cheap electricity will help you. So unless you were hoping for a 6970 specificallly for gaming, and would like a good excuse to buy one ("for mining"), then don't waste your time or money. |

is this two factor authentication actually used to keep your private key secure or just to let you log into the site? Same question was essentially covered here: The 2FA is to protect against a replay attack using your password to access the Blockchain.info website. It does not protect the backups.
Someone with your blockchain.info/wallet password and access to the encrypted wallet file can decrypt the file and spend your funds.

Wow. Nice. Also, from looking at the timestamps, 10 minutes went by from the unlucky dice roll to the included double spend transaction, if I'm seeing it correctly!
It took ten minutes before the rest of the bitcoin network picked up the double spend apparently, I don't know why, but the same thing happened with my practice round. Can you provide the transaction IDs? At a minimum, I'm curious which mining pool (if any) was responsible for the block in which this occurred. |

I very much doubt they would still be allowing 0-confirmation bets if they were seeing such an attack happening.
There is a person reporting success in two of three attempts to double spend against the site. The tactic is to create the initial spend using a spam-like transaction (e.g., over 1K of data, from lots of small transactoins) and pay no fee. That transaction will not confirm anytime soon -- perhaps for many hours. If the bet ends up being a losing bet, then from a another client, create the double spend transaction and include a nice fee. The client will transmit and rebroadcast the double spend transaction. Most peers won't accept the transaction as it is a double spend, others do and also will try to relay it. Eventually a miner (apparently using a custom client that will prefer the replacement transaction with the higher fee) will mine a block that includes the second (double-spend) transaction. If when doing Send transaction via Custom, if I choose to have change sent to a New Address, that works as expected however it creates a new address even if I am not going to end up having any change in the transaction (i.e., if I am spending the entire amount of the coin that I selected as an input).

EclipseMC picked up the 0 fee transaction.
Conclusion: The miner must be using a custom set of rules when picking transactions for this to work. I got really lucky in the practice round.
One big difference between your first trial and your second was that the second transaction was under 1K bytes, and the first was something like 2K. So it would make sense that a "spam-like" transaction wouldn't confirm for many hours leaving the opportunity for a mining node with a "higher fee trumps a lower fee" customization to have the chance to mine a block. I see that in the second trial the "Relayed by IP" is again 127.0.0.1. Had you sent that from Blockchain.info? |

Any currency? So if I asked for a couple Vatus (VUVs) (from the Central Bank of Vanatu) you could hook me up?  I'd presume that would be expensive, but then I read: - We will not charge any physical currency exchange rates.
- The only exchange rate you will pay is the standard rate to convert your currency to an ecurrency.
Which I interpret to mean the spot forex rate is paid with no additional currency exchange fee, but that could be me misinterpreting the meaning. - All post expenses are to be covered by you.
Which is why I asked the question in the first place. Where (country, state) would I be mailing the cash to if I were to be looking to buy bitcoins with cash.? |

Today, 28.46BTC shows a value of $378, eventhough the market price chart shows only upward motion...
Confused... It appears to use the 24 hour price (which is volume weighted average price, VWAP). There was a selloff earlier today, and a rebound, so VWAP is several percent below the last trade price. |
