81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Facebook About to Get ‘Myspaced’ by Next-Gen Social Media? on: August 26, 2016, 05:47:29 PM
I think we need to talk about getting more than just nerds, speculators and drug dealers to actually use Bitcoin first before we start proclaiming the death of Facebook through gimmicky social media coins.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE RISE AND RISE OF MONERO on: August 25, 2016, 08:03:09 PM

whatever you guys have been warned remember that when your ass is burned.

Alpha Bay wrote this on reddit

"We expect this to cause a spike in the price, so if you are an investor, now is the time to purchase Monero."

This is an obvious clue this thing is going to be manipulated either way, no doubt the two dark markets colluded together and bought up a bunch of Monero beforehand.

Hell for all we know they make their fortune off longing and shorting XMR and out of nowhere shutter both markets, why keep running the risk of running a huge underground narcotic operation when you can make a fortune off the crypto markets and retire easily?

I got my popcorn ready  Cheesy

I always thought Boolberry was far superior to Monero but paid trolls and whale backers run these markets, not tech unfortunately.

You realize that guy in your avatar got hacked to death with machetes and axes?

He should have bought stealthy Monero.

This is how I honor his memory  Smiley

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DT-Token - DT Chain - Changing the World Block by Block Use Case by Use Case on: August 23, 2016, 03:18:11 PM
Not sure why this theft incident needed a "use case", this has happened an endless number of times to an endless number of coins and the one time we got a chance to prevent it, we let the thief run off with the loot?
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Monero replace Bitcoin soon? on: August 22, 2016, 10:07:33 PM

It has been pointed out elsewhere that the Mossad is sponsoring ZCash.  If you want to trust your privacy and substance to the transparency, honesty, and restraint of the Mossad, well... I don't even...

Ironic you say that since there is many hints Cryptonote is from the Mossad or NSA lol.

Pump has been over, now the price is correcting, maybe go back to 500-1000 sat. And then more pumps? Who knows.

My ghetto TA

LOL I remember investing like 2-3 btc (can't remember how much exactly) into the Noirshares GF, never once saw a dime of return on it. Remember this was back when BTC was worth alot more too. Should have bought protoshares instead.

I heard the rumors of this dev being Barziwi but never raised the issue without any proof, now this makes me mad.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: August 10, 2016, 06:44:56 PM
What is this talk of "Bitcoin insurance" I see spouted in the trollbox about Omni?

I admit I had forgotten about Mastercoin and saw a blurb about Omni a month ago about the next possible "100x", I looked into it and definitely saw it's not dead and progress is being made, albeit quietly. Put it on my list of "to buy later" but apparently later came sooner than I thought  Smiley
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All the whales are in ETC now on: August 01, 2016, 09:30:54 PM
I suspected at the time of the DAO hack btc whales were behind it, and now I suspect the same are pumping ETC so they can make a fortune dumping all those stolen coins. I could be wrong though, it could be a much larger conspiracy involving ETH whales - anything is possible in crypto. The only thing that seems pretty clear to me now is buying ETC is playing russian roulette - the sledgehammer could fall anytime.

Honestly I think it being a conspiracy is a bit far-fetched, it's one thing to hack the DAO and short ETH but to assume the dominos would fall toward a hard fork and an exchange like poloniex having the radical idea to list the pre-fork chain as an asset and then plan to pump that, it all sounds too convoluted.  I think Occam's razor suggest it's a black swan event, nothing more.

Instead of running and crying to the lawyers, whom I view as lower than bankers, why  not win the war of ideas by helping Ethereum Classic conquer ETH's market and hashrate?
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC price speculation on: July 28, 2016, 01:31:40 PM
Bitcoin Maximalists will pump it to parity for political reasons IMO, ETH Whales will try their best to dump and dump to keep it down, but Bitcoin Whales are 10x bigger by marketcap than ETH Whales.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC on Polo on: July 28, 2016, 02:53:52 AM
Ow, i miss ETC train, i see yesterday ETC price is 0.0008 - 0.0009 and now 0.004. Is now still good time to buy ETC or price will go down again and i must wait price lower to buy?
DAO attacker owns about 10% of all ETC. You do the maths what happens next once he dumps.

Yes, dumping is obviously not the optimal strategy.  The DAO adversary is smart enough to know that.

https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic/comments/4uldjs/attention_dao_attacker_lets_make_a_deal/

tldr:  Better solution is to put the funds in a contract that funds an ETC Foundation and makes scheduled, manageably-sized bug bounty payments to the adversary.

I have a friend who recently made bank accumulating almost 10% of an altcoin that pumped huge on polo for a few weeks. He didn't dump it, he sold off slowly and no one was ever the wiser.

I don't get why people are any more scared of a thief with a huge supply vs some lucky schmo who accumulated cheap. Most huge dumps are market tactics to flush out cheap coins by someone who wants to be a bigger whale, but someone who legitimately wants out isn't stupid enough to kill their own market and all buy support.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: July 25, 2016, 09:51:05 PM

Lots of folks here don't know mrpumperoids is a straight ETH shill that can not be trusted to tell the truth.

I laughed when he posted Seaman's crying emo editorial on Huffington Post to make a case, I mean really :p
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do I own coin on two forks at once ? on: July 25, 2016, 09:22:11 PM
so you sold NO ETH when it touched like $14 USD EACH?

you fail at life and trading.

LOL I'm sure the people who sold Bitcoin at 5-10 dollars told those who held the same.

Still I wouldn't have been that strong not to sell at least half myself.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Illegal Content on STEEM on: July 25, 2016, 08:57:59 PM
like universally illegal kinda shit? the kind of thing that is so bad one does not mention it by name?

Is it possible that this has not happened already?

Hillary's emails?!
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good Buy Time For Ethereum Classic on: July 25, 2016, 03:23:02 PM
If you enjoy really risky situacions

Buying ETH was originally a risky situation, everyone bought into an ICO that locked their money up for a year with lawyerly language put in that this is not an investment.

Ethereum Classic is, in my view, a total and absolute scam by any traditional financial definition of the word “scam.”

Garbage article from a garbage "news" site, Seaman is only making assumptions of what Vitalik and the team think, Vitalik hasn't even made a statement of support one way or another yet other than another non-sensical tweet.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC on Polo on: July 24, 2016, 07:51:42 PM

imo, BTC whales and Chinese mining racketeers will keep ETC alive to beat Ethereum like a drum...
They want to dead-end every single alt exactly the way Bitcoin has been dead-ended for 2.5 years and counting.

Ask yourself why would Busoni from Polo risk his entire business over this unless he phas some major crypto powers who told him privately if he does this they will support him.

The logical thing would have been to let a shitty exchange like Yobit list first and let them take the initial risk and evaluate how the market reacts. So what made him do this?

I don't think this was added on a whim, I think this is a larger plan being orchestrated behind the scenes to turn ETC into something major and not just a joke.
