1041  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did you guys know Charlie Shrem is out of arrest and he's reading and posting on: November 14, 2014, 02:19:51 PM
No it's fairly easy to keep them mentally separated... one was implicated in shady drug stuff, and the other one was a bad actor.

Hey Shrem isn't that bad of an actor, he fooled you all for years!
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A map of the crypto coin landscape evolution. The basic ABC's on: November 13, 2014, 10:52:58 PM
Litecoin, "innovative"?

Darkcoin, the "first" anonymous coin?

1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is happening with NXT? Fucking Nothing!!! on: November 13, 2014, 10:50:14 PM
Most average crypto users don't even understand NXT, how will general society?
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The full truth behind ShadowCash/Coin trolls and their attacks on other coins. on: November 13, 2014, 07:59:04 PM
Sigh... I hear they are now trolling in I/O coin now. I guess they just they dont get it that people even their fans don't like that shit.

I "hear" the SDC community is trolling Islam and Mohammed now too. They are going to set off WW3!
1045  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell off is imminent? on: November 13, 2014, 06:43:25 PM

Too much greed... Too many of you hoping to get rich quick... This won't go over well soon.

Well how can people not be greedy? You saw people getting rich hand over fist in crypto in 2013 and alot of noobs (myself included) jumped in 2014 hoping for the same and instead ended up buying their bags.

I think the reality is Bitcoin whales much prefer this volatility in siphoning off other people's wealth rather than seeing Bitcoin itself rise and bring more "new wealth" along with it.

All this talk all of a sudden too of colored coins and sidechains is for Bitcoin technocrats to protect their money and power by harvesting all the innovation and ideas the alt market has made in the last year and taking it for themselves.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bryce Weiner remain a dev of UNO? on: November 12, 2014, 02:43:52 PM

obvious smearcampaign is obvious.

+1

The weiner-haters try to cook up a story for weeks now and fail miserably with it. It's unsubstantial trashtalk is my impression too. Most involved in moving this forward are younger than 22. Some 4chan-kids trying to cause some havoc because they bought into razor and that didn't work out.
As long as no informations are delivered this is all smoke.

The best thing those people can show to substantiate their non-arguments is a meme with a bryce-quote. That's about it.

Letting BW go because of this baseless shit would be a testament of a weak community.

no evidence/further information = smellherfart.com

I'm a grown man and I can tell you having worked in the real world, i'm sure someone like Brian Kelly paying Blocktech what was no doubt big money just to have to wait endlessly for months for Bryce to deliver a simple POS fork to his coin while Bryce spent all day yacking on twitter was the last straw for his position over there. Add on top the gamerholic fiasco, I'd fired him myself. And what happened to the Liberdade project? Or Razor Road? Admit it, the guy never delivered anything and instead preferred to spend his days stirring up drama like you know...a 4chan kid.

Why can't we just admit the guy was peddling snake oil and move on? Crypto can be better than this.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PoS is far inferior to PoW - why are so many people advocating switching to PoS on: November 12, 2014, 06:14:25 AM
Mining was never fair.  Today after 5 years of learning resources and how-to-guides many people still can't figure it out.  I'm sure someone here will come at me with an ad hominem ("lol ur stewpid") but it doesn't change the fact that PoW is indeed this complicated thing which most users and upcoming users will never understand.

Maybe your laptop or a dusty Windows 95 could had mined Bitcoin in 2009 but doesn't do any good if the user in control of the hardware did not know where to begin and back then there was virtually no learning resources to consult.   There was a reason why millions of the first Bitcoins were mined by a very small exclusive group of people with backgrounds in computer science and this scarcity was why they were able to manipulate the price and make it valuable enough to had been appropriated as a payment method on websites like the Silkroad.

I've been in crypto a year now and even still mining talk is all gabbedly gook to me. Granted I own a laptop and have had no reason to mine with my hardware which prohibits me from bothering to go learn how to go about it, but the point stands that if it looks like a foreign language to me, imagine what it looks like to ma and pa.

This is why mining should have always been a one-click affair and you're done. Why should anyone have to compile a wallet or mess around in notepad, finding pools or running command-line  debug windows just to create crypto currency? It is not very democratic to begin with if only technocrats can do it.

no stay away, i lost a lot of money from cloak bcuz of u guys. i was here first

Maybe you should have traded smarter?  Cloak had insane gains and you didn't sell?

Actually in the real world, you know, one not run by manic depressant autistic tards like what makes up most of cryptoland, putting your money in a growing and successful investment is the smart thing to do. However in crypto candy land, that usually results in you buying at the top like all the poor souls who bought Blackcoin at 90k satoshi thinking this is going places only to see it drop all the way to 10k overnight.

This is why I learned by now, only buy a coin when it's cheap otherwise you'll end up in a slaughter house. And when you hear a pump group is in a coin, SELL NOW because that means they already accumulated for weeks and are ready to dump on your ass!

You'd think with all his money he could get a better haircut.

Quite the full head of hair. Maybe a rug?

Lol I don't know, it reminds me of Donald Trump and Bill Gates who have all the money in the world yet the worst hair styles ever. I guess when you have that much you learn not to care.

1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin : InstantX Demonstration (still in Test Phase) on: November 09, 2014, 04:19:32 AM
Instant transaction is marketing bullshit.

The DRK dev himself said this week the transactions will take 15 seconds.

That's a test environment, nothing like the real environment.

Dark has always been marketing bullshit ever since they claimed to be the first anon coin even though Fedora/TIPS beat Darksend v1 to the punch for basic coin mixing by months lol.

But unfortunately sometimes those with the greatest spin win in the end.

Btw Mazacoin had less than a few second confirms too. But oh right, it was a "scam" lol

1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ZeroVert - First Zerocoin Implementation | New gold standard for privacy on: November 08, 2014, 05:09:58 PM
I'm not going to knock Zerovert's tech, I'm a layman and not qualified to comment. But I still have yet to have seen proof this coin is from Poramin, I messaged him on Facebook to see if it was true but no answer and the Vertcoin account is still silent for months yet it shows it logged on in October so he clearly hasn't forgotten his password. Couple with the fact the whois for zerovert is anonymous while Vertcoin's website is open registrar, I think we just need more answers and transparency, especially in an era where it looks like people's privacy is being eroded every day and giving people false hope of anonymity is dangerous.
Alleged Poramin Insom (at least that's the name of account) has appeared on Vertcoin thread and said:
Hello Vertans,

I'm a vertcoin developer. You may know or not know that "Vertcoin" account was banned due to giveaway issue. I will responsible for every question regarding Vertcoin development. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask questions in here or in Reddit. I will try to answer and update the Vertcoin development as soon as possible.

Regards

How does Btctalk handle account bans? Are you still able to log in to your account after being banned because user Vertcoin did login in October. Poramin was created a few days later. Although it is possible maybe he logged into Vert for the first time it October and hadn't realized he was banned months back? That could explain the short time period between him coming back and making a new account.

I am a big stakeholder in SDC but I hope SDC can reach Dark's prices so I can switch out 50/50 and hedge my bets.

The idea there should be only one anon coin is foolhardy IMO, having multiple options is good not only because it doubles the work that the powers that be have to do to try and track down users of the currency, but it is also a safe hedge in the cataclysmic event that somehow either coin ends up being compromised.

Please, let's be respectful with each other. We all love our coins. Our devs have been talking and they all recognize the value of the other coin. This is no bailing out. There is no way to know what would happen in the future, both for ShadowCash or for Darkcoin. The market is difficult and that is why we think this makes sense. We both have nice features planned, but the market doesn't always recognizes them because success needs more than features.

Thank you, and don't get me wrong I respect that Duffield and Dark see the value in SDC and are approaching with this offer. As an investor I just personally am iffy on whether the deal is beneficial to SDC or not, but I'm not on the SDC team so all I can do is watch. Either way this brings alot of new eyeballs to SDC.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: November 06, 2014, 07:55:40 PM

Here is a simple answer: I never heard about ShadowCoin before. a) If your ShadowCoin is really great and has value then why are you agreeing to destroying it? Just continue to work on it. b) If it is doomed to fail then why would it be saved at the expense of Darkcoin investors?

No one has agreed to anything. This is just a proposal from Eric, as far as I know no one in the SDC camp has accepted it. I just find it convenient this doc hits when ZK Snarks is in private testnet. I don't think any merger would benefit SDC until ZK is released and the market reacts accordingly to find its price point because that is the true value of SDC.

To put it in perspective, this would be like Litecoin coming to Dark a week or two before the release of Masternodes and offering to merge with DRK. It might sound good initially but may not benefit Dark long-term at that point. I think if a merger were to happen SDC can get a better concession if the SDC camp just waits a few days.
