Your character is lacking.
You moderate the most unused/inactive subsection in the community and are allowed the privilege of abusing a staff tag for it.
More good than bad can come from removing the forums endorsement of you.

The question is (and I'm sure everyone will agree), what is it to you Mr. sockpuppet? Does someone out there have a personal grudge against me? It seems that way. I don't think people should back down on things because other people have issues with it.
2262  Other / Meta / Re: Proposed removal of Matthew N Wright from forum staff. on: August 25, 2012, 10:22:10 AM
In light of Matthew's blatant dishonesty ....

Just to add onto the dishonest & intentionally misleading areas with Matthew's actions in the community recently:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=102648.msg1125880#msg1125880

Agreeing with the thread title, having a "staff hero member" loudly (spammily) defending scams and making unbacked bets himself is a black eye on the community
His removal from staff would be not much different from the recent decision to decrease scam exposure (changing from stickies to the longterm subform)
He could continue to do as he pleases, but without the implied support of the fourm itself, as I am sure some members of the community put larger trust into "Staff"

All the butthurt, no proof of anything-- saaaaaaayyy...you wouldn't be jealous now would you?
2263  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings & Trust - Money Returned List (One reported). on: August 25, 2012, 09:49:28 AM
I just got my invite to gpumax yesterday.  I spent all night getting things setup.

Then I started to wonder what the real benefit of the site was and had a hard time figuring it out. I can manage my miners just as easy without it.  And the only reason I could figure for people buying shares would be to test out a new pool (can't be many of those) or to gamble on a pool getting lucky. It didn't seem like enough to sustain the site.  So I started to read up on the man at the top.

I thought the same, until I racked my brains and thought of a really cool occasional use of the hashpower.  Not sure if that's what pirate's customers are using it for, but there's a good chance.

Think hard and you might come up with a reason for its existence too.

Shhhhh. Let them be smug in their accusations a little bit longer.  Grin
2264  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Tecshare lied about me scamming him on: August 25, 2012, 09:48:21 AM
Usagi, there's no need to defend yourself I feel, as TECSHARE has already been paid for the work. I will be instructing him to finish the work and give it to you, as I recognize this as being a miscommunication. Do with them as you will, consider it as a gift regardless from a fan ^_^
2265  Other / Meta / Re: Proposed removal of Matthew N Wright from forum staff. on: August 25, 2012, 09:32:01 AM
If Zipconf never worked where did the dividends come from ?
Beats me. I was never in control of any funds and came in long after any funds were collected. I think it's most likely he was paying "dividends" even without profits. I don't think that's necessarily a "ponzi", but it's not honest.

I find it hard to believe the founder of http://dcao.org/ would not warn the bitcoin community about a known scammer being involved in a project that was trying to raise large amounts of bitcoins from the community.
Couldn't agree more. How could such an awesome guy work with someone like Bitscalper without letting people know? Because he didn't know.  Wink

How much was JRO paying you for your silence ?
Nothing unfortunately, just promises. I was just following the boss as all employees do when they say "We've got a security leak, keep this under wraps while an investigation is pending". You really should be asking JRO though since I don't own any of those companies nor even hold equity in them.

It reminds me of why the better business beaureu doesnt work.

Yep. Back when I first proposed the idea of a safe network (similar to a cross between eBay's feedback/rating and the BBB on top), I didn't at the time realize why that's a bad model. After looking into the BBB and how even shitty companies who "pay" can get a A+ rating, I was appalled and immediately agreed with the community that such a thing should never be trusted, regardless of how makes it. Interestingly enough, MtGox made one and people trust them  Roll Eyes

You might not have known before you started working with bitscalper
Since you like to use deceptively loaded words, I'll continue to correct you. I never worked -with- Bitscalper. I worked with JRO who had also hired Bitscalper as a developer for a project I was brought on to help manage the front end of (which never happened I might add).

but you have admitted to working with him when 4000 or so BTC went missing.
Yep, with 5 trusted witnesses who can easily provide evidence that I never went near any code or did anything other than talk to JRO about ideas basically. You're fishing for a whale in a puddle too I see.

Also you never went back to correct your many threads of calling Maria and everyone else under the sun bitscalper once you knew the truth. You did not let the public know at all until someone forced your hand (and you even at first deleted that).
Maria and CoinExchange (Leo) are both the same person. He lives in New York and uses his wife's name to spam people whenever he's banned. He is not Bitscalper, but he's an equally scummy fuck. If you'd like, I can go back and update all of my old posts if it matters to anyone, but then you'd probably just post that I was "changing my words".  Roll Eyes

Will there be a feature about your working relationships and Zhou/Bitscalper/JRO in the next issue of your mag? Should be good reading.
Doesn't seem like it would be very interested "news", and would be rather short as well.
2266  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 25, 2012, 08:47:29 AM
I think it is high time for you to shut up and stop being part of the huge fraud most of us tried hard to protect people from.

In the name of Satoshi Nakamoto, "Keep your opinions, politics and religion out of my bitcoin".

When people start talking about "protecting" me from things in Bitcoin, I can't help but equate it to the reasoning for Paypal holding my funds.
2267  Other / Meta / Re: A Public Plea for Civility on: August 25, 2012, 08:27:15 AM
While I totally agree BinaryMage, I firmly believe that for things to change, the mods need to start working harder, and actually moderating this place.   A stricter stance on everything you listed in the OP would greatly help keep this place more civil.   That, along with actually merging multiple threads rather than having 12 on the same subject would go a long way to making this a usable forum again.

Right now it's a pretty horrible place to be, which is NOT a good thing when we're talking the primary site for all things bitcoin.  This is where new people to Bitcoin will arrive after 1 google search, and right now I very much doubt they'd stick around.
+1

Asking for civility on the open Internet is like asking a dog not to drag its ass on the carpet; it is an exercise in futility.

Absolutely.

If you think its bad now you should have seen it before the newbie section was introduced and the SA troll invasion happened.

Everyone who was here at that time knows this to be true.

Matthew if you do win the bet and cant prove that you have the money I would urge no one to pay you and that you be labeled a scammer. You not having the money for the bet in the first place would make the bet invalid. I trust that you most likely do have the money that is why I took the bet, but I suggest you do prove it if you win or there will be a lot of angry people that will not pay you. I can prove I can cover my bet, I suggest you do the same or I will label you a scammer and so should everyone that has taken your bet.

PS - you asking for bets on weather you actually have the money is just stupid. If it turned out that you did not have the money it is a loose, loose. Only a fricking idiot would take that bet because I they won you would not pay anyway.

Yes, I fully planned on proving it, I just like screwing with trolls. I'll prove it when it's time. Right now it's just a few scattered people who hate me already asking for proof. Why would I give them what they want? It's better to bet against them that I do in fact have it and make some money off of their trolling, don't you think?

The side bet btw is just a statement to trolls. Feel free to ignore it as I doubt anyone is going to participate in it anyway, and I will be proving I have the funds in due time. Cheers.

Printing 50,000+ issues of the Bitcoin Magazine seems to me a step back to the 20th century.

I like Bitcoin Magazine, and therefore I read it online. Like many citizens of the net I read everything in softcopy (online or in e-format on a pc/phone/tablet screen) and I have not bought a physical dead tree book or magazine for years.

I suggest to invest something (much less) in a good adSense campaign.

Good advice! I'll be thinking about it.
2273  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: If I win the 10,000BTC, I have an idea for what to do with the money... on: August 25, 2012, 06:11:39 AM
It's generous of you Matthew - but I think if you want to be generous with that bet, there are other projects which would be more beneficial to the btc economy.

Here's an idea... make a high profile campaign to get some well-known charity/foundation/organization to accept Bitcoin. If you offer them $100k, they'll listen, no matter what currency it's in.

If I could pick any organization to whom you should make this offer, it would be A) Mises Institute or B) Cato Institute.

Or, if you want to REALLY pour some fuel on the Bitcoin economy, set it up as a bounty for a massive porn website to accept BTC. Basically, meeting with someone from Kink.com or Brazzers and tell them you'll donate $100k if they accept Bitcoin. You can do it in an epic creative way, like I know you're good at Smiley

If you do this, for the $100K demand that you be in one of the videos too.

2275  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: August 25, 2012, 05:20:29 AM
Ok guys, I just had this huge illumination of what GPUMax is all about. I think I understand who the buyers are going to be (not the Beta ones, the real ones) and what's this project is all about.

If GPUMax is really what I think it is, I believe pirateat40 is currently years ahead of us. This project is dead serious and could really change the dynamic of the mining marketplace. I'm seriously excited to see the end of the Beta. I'm also pretty confident that the name of GPUMax will not change, even if ASIC come out.   Wink

I don't think it's appropriate discussing about it publicly, but I still want to discuss it. I need to validate my theory with somebody. Cheesy

So, here the conditions:
If you,
-have a farm bigger than 15 GHash/s (or, if you are bigger than me)
-are currently invited in the Beta of GPUMax

PM me, and I'll share my theory with you. If you don't fulfill the conditions, don't bother me. It's your job to prove me you fulfill the conditions. Only serious miners that could consider mining as a real job.

PS: It also means that my confidence about pirate paying back his BTCST lenders jumped up to 101%. Pirate is the real deal.

Hehe. You mean he's not a Ponzi?
2276  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: If I win the 10,000BTC, I have an idea for what to do with the money... on: August 25, 2012, 05:08:39 AM
It would be a very nice thing to do, but I'm afraid people could take it as a sort of spam, and it might bring a total negative effect on Bitcoin if people walk around saying they got the magazine "for free". This would turn it into a pamphlet in the general public's eyes.

Yea, I thought about this too, but since it's sold for $8.88 at bookstands across the country and on our website, and this is a -personal- thing I'm doing unrelated to the Bitcoin Magazine itself, I doubt it will have any bearing on things.
2277  Economy / Service Discussion / If I win the 10,000BTC, I have an idea for what to do with the money... on: August 25, 2012, 05:02:59 AM
I am not making any promises yet, just gauging interests, but it occurred to me the other day that the best thing I could do help the Bitcoin community, my career, and Bitcoin Magazine's exposure all in one go would be to use some of my winnings to print 50,000+ issues of the Bitcoin Magazine and mail them to everyone on the forums (and off, if anyone asked).

I think people are afraid of purchasing the magazine because of the original late issue (in fact, there are some people who ordered -recently- who are still waiting because we -just- got a large 4,000 issue shipment in Romania and are only beginning to disperse them), but I am confident that we'll make it up over time with consistent issues (we've already printed September's issue, so it should be fine from here on out). I think Bitcoin Magazine is important to the community and that once people see the high quality, especially with recent issues, they are going to fall in love with it.

So why wouldn't I just do it without even asking? Because a few months ago one customer asked us if we have a digital release because they didn't want to ever give out their address. I thought this was -really- odd considering it's unlawful for us to share our records with anyone else, but I guess to each his own.

So here's the question...

If I win the 10,000BTC bet and I pay for 50,000 issues of the Bitcoin Magazine to be printed and shipped, would you accept one?

2278  Economy / Gambling / Re: I'm offering 100% ROI to anyone who thinks I don't have 10,000BTC to pay out. on: August 24, 2012, 09:39:14 PM
Protip - That's part of the reason they're not betting.

Uhh. Betting is closed silly. The full amount has already been bet.

OK then.  That's part of the reason they didn't bet when they could.

Also, did you forget about my other question?

You said you could prove you have the funds.  You're silence regarding whether or not you will is telling....
When it's time, it will be obvious. Not before, and not because people bother me about it. I like to make an impression (if you didn't notice). It's both entertaining and helps people open their mind to more possibilities. Just telling them something right off the bat doesn't work anymore. You have to make them spend their time and energy crusading against it before you prove it's not harmful.
2279  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings & Trust - Money Returned List (One reported). on: August 24, 2012, 09:36:24 PM
We do need a list. It's imperative, not just for public interest, but to prove the bets that are currently going. Is there a spreadsheet available?

How do you plan on proving pirate paid, when some random jack ass claims he didn't pay him?

-I- don't prove that, Pirate does.
