1941  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: Cablepair (Tom) from BTCFPGA.com/bitcoinasic.net on: February 01, 2013, 03:39:07 PM
Ironically, I came into this community right when a Tom took a lot of people's money. I left and came back right when another Tom is doing the same thing.
1942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WeUseCoins - What would you include/exclude in a 2013 remake? on: February 01, 2013, 12:10:07 PM
also, i wouldn't use the phrase "no fees" anywhere... i might write "low fees".

I agree. Trying to convince people to switch to bitcoin to send money because of the lower fees is a bit disingenuous. Fees may eventually be higher than any other payment processor on the planet, or all of them combined, eventually. I agree that "low fees" is fair enough for the next decade.

I don't know about the US anymore (haven't had a bank account there in forever), but here in Korea their checks are bank issued like money orders and have a face value that can be checked on a network instantly (so a high tech money order) basically.
1944  Economy / Services / Re: Proxy to order Dominos Pizza with BTC on: January 31, 2013, 02:55:06 PM
Dominos in Korea too. And Papa Johns. And Pizza Hut, although in Korea the more popular are the Korean chains ($40 pizzas from "Mr. Pizza" and $5 pizzas from "Pizza School").
Yes, Dominos and Pizza Huts are everywhere in Asia. Papa John's is not that popular yet in Malaysia and Singapore, but they're starting to gain significant ground here.

Go Papa Johns! Better ingredients, better pizza.
1945  Economy / Gambling / Re: Over 50 by the end of the year? on: January 31, 2013, 09:07:56 AM
This leaving aside that BitBet actually has both the highest public bet in Bitcoin history (~1500 BTC wagered on one single proposition) and the highest betting volume per unit time.
I beg to differ.  Undecided

As for the people as the legalities, are you need to do is tell me you have full intent of pursuing the person legally and then what I do is legal. Simple as that. If you tell me that you're going to axe murder the person in their sleep, then it's illegal. So tell me you want to pursue them legally and it's legal. I thought I said all this already.

Sounds a lot like internet stalking to me and I don't really approve of it being done considering you get enough trouble from it happening with random people on the internet never mind being paid for it.

Free market.

If about half the people in this thread could be convinced to focus on developing the BTC economy, then great things will happen.
The other half of you might not be worthy of the effort it takes to come up with a good insult.

Now that's insulting!
1949  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's insult each other! on: January 28, 2013, 05:06:48 AM
By posting here I am insulting myself and everyone else automatically.

Is suicide still a crime in the US?

Yep. I wonder what the sentence is for successfully committing suicide.

I think capital punishment would be suitable for a sucessful suicide.

Actually, you might be on to something. They could make your corpse property of the state, using it for science or however they please as a deterrent to those who have a sense of "honor" in their stinking corpses. (Personally I think the idea of leaving a dead body is insane and will make sure I am cremated)

I just ordered shared cpanel hosting
and a domain

Phbronies.net

It says it comes with Ioncube Launcher
but I can't even see a "Software" category
in cPanel.

any help?

CINFU has amazing tech support. Literally every question I have asked them in their TICKETING SYSTEM has been answered within hours regardless of the time of day and they have always fixed any problems I asked, for even 2 years. Why you're asking your questions on a bitcoin forum instead of directly to them is beyond me.

The sooner we stop thinking we are valuable, the sooner we can succeed as a species to accomplish great things.
The Nazi Party thought so too.

The Nazi Party thought that life wasn't valuable, or the Nazi Party thought that anyone who wasn't one of them wasn't valuable? I think you're confusing the issue in an attempt to be dramatic.

The point still stands. When we stop pretending we are important, powerful, beautiful, original, unique, talented and valuable creatures, the sooner we can learn to share, build together and appreciate what is around us. How does this tie in with abortion? It actually goes both ways:

  • A mother does not abort her child because she realizes that her own wants/needs are not important and that she needs to just take care of what is in front of her (in this case being a new child)
  • A mother does not keep her child because she realizes that her own wants/needs will end up being the death of the child anyway.

The world is not so black and white. Whenever drugs, abortion, religion, and suicide are discussed on forums, people want to grab for the absolutes. Life just doesn't work that way, despite what we may want to believe to keep us warm at night in our own temporary existences.

But seriously guys I don't think the site gives a shit about the 3 bitcoins I "stole" from them. I don't even know if it was the receiving end's error, it could have been the site I was sending from (yet I would hope that site would not act in such a way, being widely used). I'm pretty sure if any of you found this you wouldn't have posted it on this forum period. I was just curious to know if anyone had encountered such a transaction error before.

Yes I have. I double clicked on a withdraw function, and was paid twice. I tested it with a smaller amount, and clicked on the button as many times as I could. I was sent 15 or 16 of the same amount, and for both instances my account was only debited the original transaction. I informed the site owner, and asked where I could send the coins back to and how to reproduce the result. He took the coins back and I wasn't awarded for it, and I'd do it again. But that's just me. My dad taught me that honesty isn't doing the right then when someone's watching, but doing the right thing when no one's there to watch you. Crypto currency makes it really easy for the eyes not to be on you.

I guess I could still report error, or even better, I could gamble back away the 3 btc I "stole" from the casino.

Say this site is a roulette wheel and you bet the 3 coins on 00 and win. You going to keep betting until you lose the 3 and anything from it? The right thing to do is contact the site and let them know about the issue and return the coins. That's the right thing. But may not be part of your moral fabric.

You guys are right. I did contact the site admin.I do hope the website gets the problem resolved, or if it wasn't the fault of the casino site then I really cannot say how it happened, either way I'm sure they won't mind me keeping the 3 btc.

Kudos on starting to do the right thing. Think of this: If you ask them if they would like you to send it back and how to do so and they provide you with info, then they needed it more than you. Otherwise, they might just tell you to keep it with their thanks. Either way, you build a bridge instead of burning one. Take it from someone who has made it a habit of swimming; life is easier with bridges.
1955  Other / Off-topic / Re: Abortion on: January 27, 2013, 03:58:10 AM
I voted for immoral. I believe abortion should not be a choice that one life makes to the detriment of another.
The article I am linking (by Eric Lloyd) shows conclusively that there is no dividing line between a human life and an unborn fetus.

SLED: The Case Against Abortion
http://standtherefore.com/blog/sled-the-case-against-abortion/

Preview:

The SLED Argument. SLED is an acronym that stands for:

Size
Level of Development
Environment
Degree of Dependency

These are the qualities that can be used to distinguish the born from the unborn. The unborn are small, not fully developed, in the womb, and wholly dependent on their mother. But do any of these qualities affect the value of the human fetus? I’ll analyze it one quality at a time.

The concept of life having value is what brought on taxes and religious wars. The sooner we stop thinking we are valuable, the sooner we can succeed as a species to accomplish great things.
1956  Other / Off-topic / Re: Abortion on: January 27, 2013, 03:21:55 AM
What's your stance on abortion

we'll stick to first two trimesters or more specifically; times when the baby is not viable outside the womb

Is abortion then immoral or not immortal?

I'd say it's neither immoral nor immortal. Wink

In my experiences with a sister who had 3 miscarriages, a friend who's girlfriend has an abortion, and a mother who was told by the doctor that she could not conceive me in the first place, I have personally come to think that it's a personal choice, just as suicide is. If you knew for a fact that your baby would be an alien monster that would kill everyone in the world, you would more than likely not have an issue with aborting it. So the polar opposite would be this-- can you prove that your baby won't be a nightmare, douchebag, bottom rung of the ladder drudge on society who ends up growing up and raping women and killing others? If not, I say the decision to keep a baby is 100% dependent on the conditions and environment. If I were living in North Korea, I'd probably be inclined to abort. If I were stranded on Mount Everest and absolutely sure I would starve to death, I'd probably abort as well. If I were a wealthy person who could logically get away with not even raising my own kid due to the amount of helpers I had, then treating it like an "inconvenience" and aborting is pretty fucking immoral imho. Then again, morals have nothing to do with science. Why don't we just change our DNA to where we can choose to stop making babies and end this problem in the first place?
1957  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: January 27, 2013, 03:09:35 AM
I received my issues #2~#4 in Korea a few weeks ago. Really happy with the quality. I am looking forward to future issues very much so.
1958  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I didn't think it was possible, but a website bugged resulting in FREE btc on: January 27, 2013, 12:40:37 AM
I'm not in a place to give moral advice, but I thought this might make it clearer for tou:

You're in a garage having your car fixed. You pay the mechanic's assistant $100 for your $70 expenses, but the assistant gives you back three hundred dollar bills mistaking them as tens. You don't tell the mechanic or the mechanic's assistant. You go to your local library and post on the bulliten board what you did instead of telling the mechanic or assistant.

Digital currencies screw with people's morals, it's plain and simple. The ease of sending, recieving, losing and spending these fun bucks pave the way for all sorts of mental acrobatics regarding what is acceptable behavior or not. I once let this affect my judgement and was subsequently outcast from the community for basically not taking things seriously. A word of advice: take ot seriously. You'll be rewarded much more for it.

@OP: I've made it a practice of rewarding people for finding mistakes of mine and I am sure many others are similar in this practice. Keeping a few bitcoins due to an error is a cheap lifestyle that will not carry you very far. What do I know though, I have a scammer tag for making a similar lapse of judgement.
