Even the slightest hint of a collusion with pirate, and no one will pay, its an unfair bet.
I think Matt may have had every intention of paying at first, but it grew out of hand, and now hes just going to see how high the community will push it...hell end up taking his scammer tags and say it was a lesson to teach us all about being greedy and how easy it is to be scammed. The irony being that no one got scammed, b/c very few expect him to pay.
I could be way off base, but that's what I think is happening here.
I will pay my bet even if there is 100% proof that Matthew is pirate. And if I lose I'll be paying it on the 9th. When I bet my money I fully expected him to pay and not paying bets is a scam whether the other person expected it or not. +1, Couldn't agree more. If I lose based on the rules of my thread, I will pay out exactly as outlined in my thread. No ifs, ands or buts about it! |

You said pirate has stolen money when it just isn't so -yet-, then you said you hope he is criminally prosecuted for something that hasn't even been proven yet, then you said trolls are here to help. I don't have a grudge yet. When you started taking more bets after it was clear you lost, I became skeptic you would pay out. I had every intention of paying you in the event pirate paid out, so I would expect the same out of a trusted forum member and former head, current editor in chief of the premier bitcoin publication.
Oh mark my words, if I lose, I'll be paying every bit of what is agreed upon in my thread. No doubt about it. I've been in the bitcoin community for over a year now and this is the first time I've ever had any interaction with you. I'm positive I can continue on without you.

This is not about some fine point of theoretical law, it is about public relations. Show the Forbes article to your grandmother and ask for her immediate gut reaction. I do agree that it's a cheezy way to get free publicity. But I'm not convinced people will have that kind of reaction to the Forbes article. I did, and I'm a troll. Besides the whole thing (taxes, hiding tax paperwork from people you expect to vote for you, pretending (or actually doing it) to steal tax paperwork) being a huge farce, lets just say someone wanted to pay a million dollars worth of bitcoins to some anonymous punk, they would probably appreciate free help from someone who can get that done.

One of the founding members, currently Editor-in-Chief. (We have 40+ members at the moment) I read the Satoshi Superstar's bio where you refered to yourself as "head of the Bitcoin Magazine".
No, and stop quoting out of context. The profile bio clearly states " Currently I’m head of the Bitcoin Magazine". That was back in February 2012. It's September now. A -lot- has changed since the first issue, I made sure of it. I found out about Bitcoin Magazine from your forum pic, which used to be a flashing bitcoin magazine logo.

I think I've contributed a few updates on the website, but no, I'm not an active columnist. We have an entire team of writers that I'm sure would appreciate hearing that you don't care about their work because you have an internet grudge  I would refuse to fund an organization that is directly involved with you.

If he owes 100% and only pays back 90% but the investors agreed to it, -that- is the agreement and therefor he has paid it back. I would win the bet.
If he owes 100% and pays back 100%, I would win the bet.
If he owes 100% and does not pay anything anything back, I would lose the bet.
I'm trying my best to be smart about my clarifications, but if you need any more clarification, please ask and give examples so I can better explain. This is all on good faith of course, I don't want to get into legal arguments "But you said if he paid back on 12oclock and that was EST not KST" and other bullshit. This is about whether he is a scammer/ponzi or not, not about whether you can cheat the system for a cheap profit. BTCST wasnt a ponzi it just invested in one  So Matthew has won his bet... Pay up guys. ROFL. When my original bet was made, I offered Matt to bet with an escrow. More and more I am wishing I demanded it from him.
I lol'ed when I read this. We will see many more comments like this tomorrow I'm sure. Why would there be more comments like this if you do pay? I can't imagine there being more comments like this IF you won. I am talking about right before the bet ends. People will suddenly realize how stupid they are. |
