922  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: May 31, 2014, 04:01:23 AM
I MINED FOR OVER 12 HOURS AND HAD "ZERO SHARES" AND NOTHING ADDED TO MY UNCONFIRMED OR CONFIRMED BALANCES

SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT'S GOING ON....Huh?
(been mining slush on and off for awhile noe)....shares registered under my worker, but not in statistics under blocks found.....

blocks found isn't your reward for work done, if you have "Current shares","Score" and "MHash/s*" all showing numbers your doing fine.

Current round has been going for 12hrs +, so you haven't been rewarded yet for previous work.

You should have started 4hrs earlier you would have a heap in unconfirmed.

Look at the Statistics page you can see what's going on. Wink
LOOK....I UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT....WHAT I AM SAYING IS: UNDER THE "STATISTICS" PAGE, YOU KNOW THE PAGE THAT DISPLAYS ALL BLOCKS FOUND AS THEY ARE CONFIRMED?....NOW GENERALLY IT SHOWS YOU HOW MANY SHARES YOU ACQUIRED AFTER THE BLOCK HAS BEEN CONFIRMED, "RIGHT?"......EVERY BLOCK IN THIS WHOLE TIME SAID I HAD "0" SHARES IN EVERY CONFIRMED BLOCK I PARTICIPATED IN....AND HAVEN'T SEEN "ANYTHING" IN UNCONFIRMED REWARD"....THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH NO REWARD FOR MY WORK (1ST TIME I THOUGH MY FAULT, 2ND TIME...NOT MY FAULT).............SO, SHOULD I HAVE SHARES IN THE STATS PAGE ON CONFIRMED BLOCKS OR NOT?

what ya running...
hardware? software? settings???
more info will make easier to determine your problem

When you say they come with the barrel connector, is that just the port on the miner itself (the female end of the plug, soldered to the board)? Or a male end with exposed wiring to hook up to a PSU? I'd love a picture or a good description. Thanks!

Pictures added to first post.

Also, Free shipping through ASICPuppy.net for buyers in the USA. This weekend only.

924  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Buy CPU, GPU, SSD etc From Amazon.Com with Bitcoins WITH DISCOUNT + ESCROW on: May 30, 2014, 07:45:02 PM
Just placed my 1st order today, stoked!
The pricing can't be beat! I will post again once item(s) have been received.

Stoked! I actually modified my 1st order as I had run out of 1.75mm black ABS for my 3d printer and am low on cash right now.
Inglewood was always prompt in replying to PMs and will even help out with offering a buying suggestion just in you are undecided.
The pricing is better than I can get purchasing from Amazon with USD myself and shipping is faster than I usually get for the price.

As I mentioned, I modified my 1st order on Sunday (placed Friday/Saturday) and I received my items today (just now). Inglewood kindly provided a SS of the purchase page (without even asking for one) as well. I will definitely be purchasing more items off Amazon via Inglewood.

Here is what I ordered
1x spool Sainsmart 1.75mm Black ABS
http://www.amazon.com/SainSmart-ABS-107-ABS-Filament-Black/dp/B00AA5AIN4/ref=pd_sim_sbs_indust_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0642HMFY8MCQ416WXJA8
1x 8GB kit (2x4GB) Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 RAM
http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-PC3-12800-240-Pin-BLS4G3D1609DS1S00/dp/B006WAGG14/

and I paid a sweet percentage OFF the listed price, I don't want to advertise the price I paid as it may have changed slightly.

Oh and I might mention, NO ESCROW was used (which saves $ I would imagine). Shoppers can purchase safely with BTC on Amazon via Inglewood without worries! Thanks again mate!

pics of my filament and RAM will be posted soon.

Whoops! Forgot to post my pics, will have them posted tonight.

I am looking to purchase again mate, lemme know if you are taking orders. Sent you a PM.
Thanks!!!

929  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: May 30, 2014, 01:51:45 AM
Is my username apt?

I just started mining with Slush's yesterday.  For reference I just have an AntU1.  Here are my first few blocks (I went offline at 22152, power outage).

#           Block found at           Duration   Total shares    Your shares    Your BTC reward    Block #   Block value           Validity
22151    2014-05-29 08:40:41    0:31:01    1009492763    725                    0.00001673    303149    25.02545496    4 confirmations left
22150    2014-05-29 08:09:40    8:01:16    15694913790    10625            0.00001575    303145    25.03866986    confirmed
22149    2014-05-29 00:08:24    6:03:28    11813716997    2788                    0.00001739    303097    25.18944223    confirmed

So for 22149 I jumped into this round very late.  This is the first round I mined and my share ratio is at it's absolute lowest.  Yet the reward is at it's absolute highest.  How is this possible/fair?

To elaborate:  22149 was a 6 hour round, I mined for maybe the last two hours of it.  22150 and 22151 I mined beginning to end of round.  The ratio of (My Shares / Total Shares) for 22149 is staggeringly low compared to 22150 and 22151 - YET the reward for 22149 is higher.  I participated/did less work in the round I got the most reward in.

Can anyone explain this to me?

Slush's anti-pool-hopping system. Earlier shares in the same round carry less weight than shares laters in the round. It seems like the system is based on hashrate mostly but I am just another miner

I think nascar was the biggest waste of money ever. why not find a demographic that can actually 1.run a computer 2. turn right 3 . brush their teeth
4. keep their hands off of their cousins  Grin

you'd be surprised to see who is watching and supporting NASCAR these days

And the absurdity of it gave us a considerable amount of bonus points for the internet medias, so imho that's the most exposure that the 100000000 doges could have given us.

Exactly!

Anyone else having wallet issues? I keep getting database errors etc. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, upgrading but still nothing. I am able to access it for a few short moments after restarting the wallet but it usually crashes within 5 minutes. I took a couple screenshots of the errors earlier and will post those when possible.

Running Windows 7 x64

Thanks!

934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner 3.0 w/AMD Catalyst 14.6 Beta drivers on my Win 7 R9 290X system on: May 29, 2014, 05:44:15 AM
Hi all.
Buggy AMD v14.6 Beta drivers?
I just wanted to let some know what I just experienced.

The new AMD Catalyst v14.6 Beta drivers are buggy, at least on my i7, Windows 7 SP1 setup.

Anyhoo, I installed them & noticed that my previously working MultiMiner v3.0.2 with the Sapphire R9 290X GPU setup wouldn't mine with any coin config I had working prior to this driver upgrade. This included my Bitcoin, Litecoin & Darkcoin setups.

So I uninstalled v14.6 Beta drivers completely, rebooted & reinstalled them again.
Still no mining happened.
I uninstalled the v14.6 Beta drivers, again, rebooted, again, & installed the previous v14.4 Catalyst drivers.
All is back mining the way it should be.

I repeated this again 3 more times just to see what gives.  I gives up, that's what.
At least I'm back mining Darkcoin with MultiMiner as before & will stay away from the AMD v14.6 beta drivers.

I guess that's why they're called BETA, eh?

I am still running the last v13 (13.12?) series drivers. I lost a bit of performance with the "stable" v14 driver.
935  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: M's Ant (S1/S2) Monitor v1.5 on: May 29, 2014, 12:22:32 AM
noticed in 1.5 if all 3 pools arnt populated server doesnt show up on ants page

I just tested this.  With the first 2 pools populated, and the third empty, it still behaves properly.  There must be something else going on.

Hopefully once I switch this to use the API all of these weird issues will be resolved.

M

Keep up the awesome work mate! I enjoy using your monitor Cheesy

Anybody else notice the huge increase in the pool's hashing power? Seems as just a week or so ago the (23) 2330126.426 Ghash/s  was 18.

Asics are cheap these days! My average round payout has decreased a tad in the last week.

Yeah I think someone has noted this before. I had issues with one of my Ants not wanting to mine without all 3 pool info complete.
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner 3.0 Darkcoin & X11 config help. on: May 28, 2014, 10:01:26 PM
This is to help anyone that is/was in my noobie shoes with the Darkcoin setup & mining within MultiMiner 3.0.x that is looking to get the Darkcoin mining going as quickly as possible using the great GUI MultiMiner provided by NWOOLLS.

Results may vary from GPU to GPU & from system to system.
(Noobie admission): Oh, and please, please, Puh-Leeeze, don't play videos while using your GPU to mine.  I learned that the hard way.

Preface: & My cry:
I've been mining for Bitcoin & Litecoin with MultiMiner for over 5 months now with little trouble.
I've done mining using GPU & USB miners, standalone AVALON & ANTminers & now back to GPU mining for the Darkcoin, coin, for now.  I'm still doing the other mining as well.

The reason I've posted this is because I was in need of some minor help in setting this up a few days ago & no one was able to come to my aide for whatever reasons or I was just too impatient in a period of 24 hours, (I think I was impatient). so I figured this out on my own.

PS: I'm a noob myself, but this works for me & if it works for you, Kudos.
PPS: If I was able to help you in any way & you're feeling generous & you get that weird feeling that you may want to send a small donation to the address below in darkcoin, litecoin or bitcoin. The payment addresses are waaaaaaaay at the bottom.

PPPS: I'm using modest settings here.  Try at your own risk.  (but this did work for me & has been)

Prerequisites: You will need to register at a Darkcoin pool of your choice, create an account & worker name of your choice prior to success with MultiMiner or any other miner application for that matter.  For my config I've setup over at: www.drkpool.com.
Install MultiMiner v3.x.x, I'm using v3.0.2 with SGHSGMiner.

Know that I won't go through everything in MultiMiner's configuration since most of them are self explanatory except for the setting up of mining for different coin configs.

My hardware:
I'm using a XFX AMD R9 290X GPU on an i7 CPU/Gigabyte X79 motherboard, with 24GB RAM, Dual 500SSD boot drive system with Windows 7 as my O.S.
I'm getting about 2.4MH/s, with no errors, at approximately 65 degrees Celsius.  Again, your results may vary.
The "Arguments" section, (you'll see later), varies greatly so my settings there work for me, but may not for you.

Here we go with the config steps:

GOTO "Settings", THIS OPENS UP THE "Configure Settings" DIALOG BOX,
GOTO "Advanced miner", THIS OPENS UP THE "Configure Miner settings" DIALOG BOX,
GOTO "Advanced GPU Miner Settings, THIS OPENS UP THE "Configure GPU Miner settings,
FROM THE DROP DOWN BOX SELECT "X11",
FROM THE "Miner:" DROPDOWN BOX SELECT "SPHSGMiner",  (that's my preference & what I'm using)

(Check) Terminate GPU miners, (that's my preference & what I'm using)

THEN CLICK "OK".
NOW BACK AT THE "Configure Miner settings" DIALOG BOX,
FROM THE DROP DOWN BOX SELECT "X11" OPTION,
TO THE RIGHT COPY&PASTE OR ENTER THE FOLLOWING STRINGS:
-I 12 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 25600 -g 1 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --temp-cutoff 70,

I'm currently using "-I 18 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 30592 -g 1 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --temp-cutoff 75",
(that's my preference & what I'm using),

(You can experiment with different settings based on your GPU card)
(My intensity level, "-I", can be set from the "12" setting upto the max setting, "20" (for the R9 290X GPU).)
(The closer I get to "20" the slower & unusable my entire PC becomes, keep this in mind.)

(Noobie admission): Oh, and please, please, Puh-Leeeze, don't play videos while using your GPU to mine.  I learned that the hard way.

THEN CLICK "OK".

----------------
----------------

TO THE RIGHT OF "Settings" THERE IS AN ARROW, CLICK ON IT.
FROM THE DROP DOWN BOX SELECT "Coins",
SELECT "Add Coin",

TYPE IN (without quotes " "):
"DarkCoin",

Exchange Symbol:

"DRK",

ALGORITHM:
"X11"

THEN (CHECK) "Coin configuration enabled"
THEN CONFIGURE YOUR COIN'S Host:, Port:, Worker Name: & Password: INFORMATION.

THEN CLICK "OK".

Give your MultiMiner app a quick review of all your other settings before clicking on the "START" button.

Good luck, happy mining & always donate to Mr. Woolls by going into the "Perks" section of MultiMiner to help the cause.

If I should've posted this in a separate thread please advise.

If you have any negative remarks or don't have any constructive criticism to help noobies, please save it for the end.
