just as bad as taking the miner offline for a tweak and the block is found in the 1-3 minutes it takes for the miner to get back online. poof there goes some work

Hi guys what is the reason for block 22148 to become invalid...thanks In some rare events, 2 different pools (or miners) solve the block (or report solving the block) at the same time. In the 'photo finish', one is the winner, and the other has an 'invalid' block... this was our case with this one Cheers Well that sucks. I came on here to ask the same question. this makes up for it 22154 2014-05-29 14:16:43 0:01:41

Is my username apt?
I just started mining with Slush's yesterday. For reference I just have an AntU1. Here are my first few blocks (I went offline at 22152, power outage).
# Block found at Duration Total shares Your shares Your BTC reward Block # Block value Validity 22151 2014-05-29 08:40:41 0:31:01 1009492763 725 0.00001673 303149 25.02545496 4 confirmations left 22150 2014-05-29 08:09:40 8:01:16 15694913790 10625 0.00001575 303145 25.03866986 confirmed 22149 2014-05-29 00:08:24 6:03:28 11813716997 2788 0.00001739 303097 25.18944223 confirmed
So for 22149 I jumped into this round very late. This is the first round I mined and my share ratio is at it's absolute lowest. Yet the reward is at it's absolute highest. How is this possible/fair?
To elaborate: 22149 was a 6 hour round, I mined for maybe the last two hours of it. 22150 and 22151 I mined beginning to end of round. The ratio of (My Shares / Total Shares) for 22149 is staggeringly low compared to 22150 and 22151 - YET the reward for 22149 is higher. I participated/did less work in the round I got the most reward in.
Can anyone explain this to me?

Slush's anti-pool-hopping system. Earlier shares in the same round carry less weight than shares laters in the round. It seems like the system is based on hashrate mostly but I am just another miner

Yes. That is the answer. Pool hopping in reverse works in your favour here.

My 'estimated reward' is totally wrong, less than 50% of my proportional share. The reported hash rate seems to be correct. I'm not sure if my shares are reaching the pool and counted or not. Just to be on the safe side, I'm shifting my workers elsewhere until this clears up.
Cheers

Just moved back, as after 'testing the water' it seemed to be detecting the added worker. Hopefully just another brief hiccup. Part of the fun.
Cheers

when I added 2 small workers my payouts actually decreased. But it's hard to say why, other than more people joined the pool? When I removed them I didn't notice a change in payouts at all.

in last 4-5 days its has gone from 2200+TH down to 1800+TH back up to 2300+TH, as said earlier by someone the anti pool hopping sys slush has in place seems to be working in reverse

I know that 112bit just did a group buy where 150 S2's were sold so that is another 150 TH that hit the network this week. I put an additional 1 TH on the pool but I have been here steady since March. Maybe some are trying to find a home for there new ants.

Why haven't they figured out who the huge "unknown" is yet? It's been that way for quite some time.. I'm thinking ghash offloaded a chunk of their hashing to a new ip to keep it looking like they don't have much.
