Now that's a lot of hash

What concerns me is this increase of roughly 1 Ph/s happened since this morning! I am wondering if this was the same miner causing BTCGuild issues recently? The pool luck is up but who knows...

10 blocks found and it is Friday........That makes for good end for the week. Smiley

heh, did you see the cuurent pool hashrate?  Shocked Shocked

Update

The ROCKMINER Rocket Box Operation Guide:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekgsAmnNChQ&feature=youtu.be

5 mins to set it up, 0 stackability, LOTS of wires aka spaghetti monster. Good luck with sales!

I actually plan on designing and printing clips that will allow these units to be stackable! Just gotta get my hands on one and I could have it modeled in a few hours.

Actually, I only need the specs on the X shaped parts of the Rocket boxes in order to design the 3D printed stacking clips  Grin
If someone can provide that info, I will be able to model those up pretty quick like.

I had a rough past couple days (disabilities) but am feeling much better today and can finally finish the RBox modular mounts.

My question has still not been answered. I think I will take it over to the Bitcoin thread.

All I wanted to know was what percentage the difficulty increased.

Plain and simple.
Didn't need all the other stuff but thanks, I guess.  Roll Eyes
So, if anyone has the answer to my very basic question, that would be sweet.

Otherwise, yeah...happy mining.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

scroll down - you will see % increases over time...

[edit] or you could work on your basic google search ability - "bitcoin difficulty increases" - Smiley

Thanks for providing that link.

Yes, I could use my Google prowess or I could strike up convo with fellow miners that happen to be mining on the same pool  Grin

Just kidding Smiley - but that bitcoin wisdom link is very useful I found...

Agreed! and no harm yo

Turns out I had the page bookmarked but have not visited in a long time plus I never saw the % table on the bottom of the page. Appreciate it much!
I learn new crap everyday!

689  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Overclock the Antminer S1 to 200GH/s] The EASY way! on: June 20, 2014, 05:45:30 PM

I do plan on Pencil-Modding but what does this mean...

I don't think it's possible to break anything with this mod, but in case you break something, I'm not responsible

Freq (275 MHz):

edit /etc/config/asic-freq
Quote

        option 'freq_value'    '0A81'  #275M
        option 'chip_freq'     '275'
        option 'timeout'       '45'

Will I need to change the freq to 275 AFTER applying the graphite? Or do the Ants freq change automatically after the graphite is applied?

I'm sorry, mate.  I'm gonna have to say no to uploading any other frequencies.  This is a thread for overclocking and people who go to this thread are going to get settings for underclocking.  In addition; and this is the most important thing:  I use the OC values on the OP.  I've used the 400MHz for a while as well, and even 375MHz.  These values for underclocking; I've never used.  It's the reason I cannot answer your questions.  I simply don't know the answers wrt to underclocking.

Please visit dogie's thread and good luck with the underclocking.

Cool and thanks.
690  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Undervolt antminer s1 [1.19W/GH at the wall] on: June 20, 2014, 05:44:55 PM
I don't think it's possible to break anything with this mod, but in case you break something, I'm not responsible

Why undervolt the antminer s1 ?
Because with default voltage (1.1v), the chip has a very bad efficiency

What are the results ?
I wanted to achieve 0.85v on the asic. ( you can go at 0.75v if you want and share the result)

With this voltage my 3 antminer s1 are hashing at 140 GH/s each for 500 watts (166 watts per ant) (corsair AX1200i)  [1.19W/gh at the wall]
all my ants have less than 1 % of HW (0.95 0.5 0.3)

What is needed ?
  • a pencil HB
  • an antminer s1
  • a multimeter (ohms meter and voltmeter)
How to ?

The following value works for an antminer with R3 resistor = 4.47 kOhms

When adding pencil on R3, the result will be a lower voltage on the chip, so it's difficult to burn anything by doing it.

Voltage :
  • Turn off your antminer ...
  • Check the R3 value  with the multimeter: it should be 4.47 kOhms (if not: the logic is the same but the next value are different)
  • apply pencil on it
  • Check the R3 value
  • if R3 value is between ~2.8kOhms and ~3kOhms it's good, if not reapply pencil or remove it with your finger (it's not rocket science, so even if it's 3.1 don't loose your time ...)
  • You can check the voltage of the chip with the voltmeter on the yellow things (the ant must be powered on) (~0.85v for me)

Freq (275 MHz):

edit /etc/config/asic-freq
Quote

        option 'freq_value'    '0A81'  #275M
        option 'chip_freq'     '275'
        option 'timeout'       '45'

Is there a need to ssh into the S1 and change the freq settings or am I not understanding correctly why the freq is posted in the OP???

Thanks!

Think you could post up the 300 and 325 frequency configs?
It's about that time to do some underclocking.

Thanks mate

Is there any way I can persuade you to not do it without using this guide from dogie   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=526060.0    first?

I already sent the code to jelin1984, but I don't think it worked as I saw him post on dogie's thread.

Code:
clear
cd /etc/config
mv asic-freq asic-freq.beforeUC
wget -O asic-freq http://goo.gl/5xfbLd
wget -O asic-freq.325MHz http://goo.gl/dPDeUj
chmod 664 asic-freq*
reboot
[/quote]

Whoops, I meant to ask for 275 frequency and not 325/300, apologies as I had a killer migraine last night and everything was super difficult, heh

Any code for underclocked to have 1wattvper gh from s1

I have to upload the asic-freq with the lower frequency value.
Which frequency do you want to try?  Below are the list:

Code:
        option 'freq_value'    '4f81'  #400MHz
        option 'chip_freq'     '400'
        option 'timeout'       '35'

        #option 'freq_value'     '4d81'  #350MHz <-- factory default
        #option 'chip_freq'      '350'
        #option 'timeout'        '40'

        #option 'freq_value'    '4c81'  #325MHz
        #option 'chip_freq'     '325'
        #option 'timeout'       '40'

        #option 'freq_value'    '0b81'  #300MHz
        #option 'chip_freq'     '300'
        #option 'timeout'       '45'

        #option 'freq_value'    '0981'  #250MHz
        #option 'chip_freq'     '250'
        #option 'timeout'       '55'

        #option 'freq_value'    '0781'  #200MHz

Looks like the time to start modding my S1's to maintain maximum profits as I am now needing to add more hash power to my farm in order to keep my daily reward close to where it was before.

What percentage was the last difficulty increase? Knowing that should give me a good figure for how much I need to increase my hash rate.
I think I would rather see the 4 Ph/s over the 3.4 we are pushing now...if the pool doesn't grow with the network, the pool WILL get left behind.  Undecided

Wait 2-3 days and buy the upgrade?

I am at least 2 weeks from being able to make my next purchase...most likely a couple more S1 units and mod those so that I can push ~1 Th/s but on 1/2 the watts!

I am picking up a small scrypt asic setup to keep my "mine" diversified and versatile!

...and, by the time those are paid off, will you have enough to buy the next latest and greatest, will it ever end? no.

Actually, I should be able to keep my toes in the mining game for quite awhile so long as I make smart investments.

It's just good to know what percentage increase I am needing to shoot for just to keep up with what I have, if not increase any.

its either, quit while you are ahead, or all in.

meh. there are MANY factors to consider and I am doing good with my current strategies.

698  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Overclock the Antminer S1 to 200GH/s] The EASY way! - updated to 393.75MHz ASIC on: June 20, 2014, 03:30:13 AM
I used the OC from the dropbox (yes before I read it was bad) for my S1 and it ran fine. I walked out of the room for 2 minutes and when I came back in my S1 was off and my PSU (thermaltek 600) stank. I upgraded to thermaltek 850 single rail and wired my S1 up but nothing, still no power. Is there a way to fix/salvage my S1?

What was bad? What settings did you try? Whats the manufacture date of your S1?

This what I used for OC:

clear
cd /etc/config
mv asic-freq asic-freq.before-393MHz
wget -O asic-freq http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/bwbk1wdy0yx1l46/asic-freq.393.75MHz
chmod 664 asic-freq*
read -rsp $'Press enter to continue (Antminer will reboot)... ASICs speed set to 393MHz \n'
reboot

I had just purchased my S1 "new" but am not sure of the manufacturing date.

The last snapshot I have of the miner stats shows it 393mhz 2160 fan speed and 50/51 temp running at 201 gh/s

Bum deal yo...not sure what be done. Any pics of the damage? (if any) Might be able to replace the bad cap (if that is what fried)

No pics, it looks exactly the same. I wish I knew if/what cap was fried. I'm not really sure if the 600w psu blew and fried the S1 or the OC did; maybe I've gotten the psu hookup wrong (hopefully). I've seen two different diagrams on the location of the motherboard jumper 3rd/4th and 4th/5th so I tried them both but not a single beep or whirl. Is is also possible that the thermaltek "SmarT" M850W doesn't work for this kind of hookup?

The ATX "jumper" trick is on the 4&5 pin slots on the clip side, counting from the left. Jumping the 3&4 pin slots might have fried your psu.
You would definitely notice a fried cap. Any bulging caps?

Also, try another PSU and press/hold (10 secs) the reset button on the S1 controller board if you can get it to power up
