This looks very interesting.

I will wait to see the next update before I make a purchase.

Thanks for your interest Jude!

We posted a new thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1078323.0 and in it are details on how to get your hands on a free demo paper trading version of leonArdo. Or you can just go to our website and download a copy. That means you can try it out before you have to decide whether to buy it!
1803  Economy / Trading Discussion / Free Paper Trading Terminal for Bitcoin on: June 01, 2015, 09:22:49 AM

We are a small start-up company called Margin Software (marginsoftware.de) and we might have
something you are interested in Wink

Have you ever thought about trading bitcoins or alt coins but were a bit reluctant to start? Or are you a
veteran trader and are just sick of poor web-based front ends with limited features. If you have answered
yes to either of these questions then please check out our free leonArdo paper trading terminal!

The leonArdo demo allows you to simulate real trading on Bitstamp and BTC-e. Add dummy orders
to your local copy of the live order books and even run two in-built automatic trading strategies
to see what it's like to play the bitcoin markets. A local client database keeps track of all your
orders and funds so that you can track your progress over time.Take a look:

We have Windows/OSX/Linux versions available on our website. The Windows binary is signed with an EV-Cert
and some of our beta customers who bought our real trading leonArdo product have reported their
experience with us on this bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=506317.0

Before you scream scam, please have a look at the thread or our website. We'd love to get your feedback to
help us to make the best trading terminal possible in the bitcoin space. Or if you have any questions you can
post here in the thread.

How can you get your copy?
Just go to the website and click through to our Products section.

Release notes for leonArdo Demo - Paper Trading Terminal

1. Please note that the paper trading edition does its own order matching locally. Your orders are 'blended'
into the market. It behaves as if you had really placed the order on the order book yourself. Of course, if your
simulated orders become a significant amount of the order book, the results will differ from real world experience.

2. In some cases recovery from sleep experiences an issue and halts the markets. A restart of leonArdo will
do the trick. Don't worry you won't lose any data as it's saved locally.

3. On start-up leonArdo matches any outstanding limit orders against the trade history to simulate real world
conditions.

Hey testbug,

sorry for the delay, but we are working on a new release and an announcement which is due soon.

Which exchanges are supported yet? I read sth. about bittrex,is it implemented yet?
Btc-e and Bitstamp are available right now. Bter and Poloniex are (partly) implemented and in internal testing phase.

How are my passwords stored? Are they stored local or on your server? Is there any connection to/from your server to the software?
If you want, your password is just kept in your local memory. If you do not want to enter it at each start up, you can store it in an encrypted container on your local harddisk.
This functionality is already integrated and is available with a click.
We just serve history data for convience. If that scares you you can just block the ip or we build a custom version for you, but it really is nice to use that data Wink
The software talks directly to the exchange API.

I am interested in your software, would be pleased receiving an answer from you
sorry again, but we are quite busy right now. If you like we are also available for a skype call.
For more information just have a look at our webpage: http://marginsoftware.de
If our response time on the forums is slow just drop us a message at contact@marginsoftware.de ;-)

Hi again.

If I use your mArgin strategy or Ping/Pong what happens when the market goes outside those values?

As in if I set it to trade at $260/$265 and the market either falls below or rises above this, does the bot just sit there waiting till I change the values?

Hi SavellM,

It depends Smiley

If you use the Static Ping Pong strategy you set a buy and a sell price and these remain fixed. However, if you use the mArgin maker strategy, it has a Max. order age parameter you can set which determines lifetime of an order before it is replaced. Once this expires the strategy will take the current market statistics (including your chosen buy and sell margins) and place a new order. To control the amount of gain you want to achieve you can set the Minimum effective margin [%] parameter. E.g. setting it to 1.0% limits the strategy to only placing orders that will result in an effective gain (after the subtraction of exchange fees) of 1.0%.

Does that answer your question?

All the best
The leonArdo guys

Clearly not the right choice for us to spend time implementing support for bter given what has happened. Ah well, looks like bitfinex will be next for us now.

Hope you guys didn't get burned too badly...

1810  Other / Archival / Re: leonArdo - Graphical Trading Software available for Bitstamp, BTC-e on: February 14, 2015, 09:49:42 PM

We'll check this out. Thanks.

When will you add Bittrex?

Thats what im waiting for.

Thanks for your interest.

We are nearly finished with bter and bitfinex and will be releasing them soon. Bittrex is also on our radar, so stay tuned Smiley

You should put Leonardo Dicaprio's face on the logo to make it more attractive.

Great idea. We'll get to work on it Smiley

We have been very busy improving leonArdo and all registered customers have received a link to the newest version!

  • leonArdo will automatically restart trading after a network outage now (no more coming back to a dialog waiting for your input Smiley)
  • Notifications tab updated to allow entries to be stored in a client database. To remove notifications simply select all and click 'x'  or click the tick you if want them to remain but not show as a number in the notifications icon
  • Improved display of numeric values for better readability. For example, hover over a value in the slider and the full precision will appear as a tooltip

Really enjoying the P2P Financial Systems 2015 workshop in Frankfurt, Germany. A nice mix of Bankers and Cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Andreas Antonopoulos gave a great talk this morning. If you are interested we are live twitting from the event (@mArginsoftware) and there is a live stream here: youtu.be/4uEhnTToqIc

1817  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading (not bot) software GUI with graphs multi exchange compatible. on linux on: January 28, 2015, 06:01:37 PM
so yeah. Does anyone know of a client like QtTradeBitcoin but with graphs?

Have you looked at leonArdo? -> http://marginsoftware.de/
We have written it from scratch in C++/Qt  and we use it mainly on Linux ourselves.
We support Bitstamp and btc-e already and are testing Bitfinex and Bter at the moment.

You can see it in action in this (a little bit outdated) video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm1G_Vlzq9k

Give us a shout if you are interested, we are happy to answer any questions.
If not, let us know what you are missing Wink

Some reviews from our users:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=506317.msg9742805#msg9742805

P.S. If leonArdo does not fit you and you are fine with btc-e Wink you could use their MT4 platform.
Other than that I don't know any solid client. Which was the reason why we build one our self.

Happy trading.
