Is it possible you are downloading all pairs by mistake?

I checked the database file sizes and they are ok.

Does anyone else have this issue? That Poloniex takes ages to initialise?

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Dunno. How would I tell.

Also when I add a new currency pair it takes a long time even for that after everything is already loaded to initialize.

I guess you didn't. You can select all pairs in the dropdown list at login.

But if you are adding pairs after you login you haven#t added them all.

I really have no idea why it is taking so long for you to load poloniex pairs? Will try to find out for you.

Please keep me updated with regards to this.

Thanks

Do you have a link to the latest version of Leonardo? Lost the bookmark on my new Laptop.

Thanks

Hi thedreamer,

I just pm'd you with the link.

If you have an installed version on leonArdo on your machine you can always click on the "update available" or "update" links and you are also brought to the downloads page.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Duh.. Forgot about that. Thanks.
Started getting a very slow connection to Poloniex after starting leonardo since yesterday. Took like 15 minutes for the
'Poloniex Init DGB/BTC'
'Poloniex Init POT/BTC'
'Poloniex Init NMC/BTC'

etc.. etc.. to go away. Also I have to end-task it now as it wont shut down by itself anymore.

*add* looks like I have the latest version.

Hi thedreamer,

Is this still an issue? How is your network connection?

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Yes, still slow after a restart. Only Poloniex issue though and this started with the last 2 versions of Leonardo. (Before the 'Fix' for the hanging poloniex issues, there were no Init problems though).

My Network is on a verified 250MB/55MB connection so that's fine.

Hmm, tried it from the cloud shortcut on the desktop...that one isn't working Smiley

And about the fees....personally i also thought the fees were higher then normal. I will try to log this in some way.

The cloud shortcut points to a Windows download, right?

Linux download is broken?

I just tried it and it worked.

What is wrong?

1245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] leonArdo - Bitcoin Trading Bot for Poloniex, Bittrex, Bitstamp, Bitfinex.. on: April 13, 2017, 03:34:52 PM
Pls look > http://prntscr.com/ew04pb

Why this is always happenning? LeonArdo is creating a sell order with a little lower amount than what was bought. Therefore, there's always a remaining balance in the coin when sell order is filled. This can lead to a high remaining balance as time goes by and more orders are placed and sold.

Can u pls fix this?

Thanks for highlighting this.

It comes from the fact that currently leonArdo doesn't know whether you will be charged maker or taker fees. It therefore assumes the more expensive taker fees of 0.25%. In the future we will support this, but there are many places in the code where fees are handled and it is not a straightforward fix.

While looking at this I saw something strange:

I initially had a 0 balance on Argur (REP). Then I bought 1.0 REP and got 0.99750001! The trading fees are 0.25% so I would expect to get just 0.09975 and not this extra 0.00000001?

The crazy thing is that after I sold everything I then bought 20.0 REP to see how much I would actually get. I got exactly 19.95. No dust?

All the best,
Jonathan

Hi all,

on my laptop with Ubuntu 16.04 leonArdo looks ugly and "zoomed":

login screen:
https://s1.postimg.org/bwwgqpd2n/Sn_mek_obrazovky_po_zen_2017-04-13_12-32-18.png

logged app:
https://s9.postimg.org/95j8z09dr/Sn_mek_obrazovky_po_zen_2017-04-13_12-37-50.png

Any hints why and how can I fix it?

Thank you

Hi boblin,

Can you tell us your screen resolution and your UI scaling factor (found in your display settings)?

Jonathan

It's now possible to hide both the funds and margin trading info tabs to free up space for currency pairs!

Hmm, that pretty much sucks, because the software is hooked to my API key. Now i am facing an issue here

No problem BadAss.Sx.

I can build you another copy.

However, if you still have your old version of leonArdo installed you can click on the eye icon in the login screen to reveal your secret Smiley

....  I ask because if I use the default settings on Clam, it just stops trading on its own and sits there.  Seems that issue still isn't fixed....

this is important to fix...

What is important to fix?

We need logs or more details if we are supposed to fix something.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

It's the same problem I explained a couple of months back.  I set the default options in margin trading, start the bot, it stops after random periods of time.  I've done the reinstall, I've killed the hidden folder, etc...
Since I've asked on multiple occasions that I be given some guidance on setting the bot to work correctly and have gotten nothing but "we have videos" (which tell me nothing) or "we can't give financial advice" (which I never asked for), I can only assume that either the program is faulty or the factory settings are faulty.  Since I have no comparison, I just assume it's the software.  After several months of problems like this one existing, I just assume it's a software issue.

You explained something a couple of months ago? Something regarding another version of leonArdo. Is this a joke?

We have hundreds of customers. What exactly do you want me to do with that information?

As I said before if you have an issue I need as much information as possible. Logs/screenshots/description of what was happening. Without that, I cannot help you.

(Note: I had an email asking me similar things so I will re-use my answer here)

Regarding financial advice. Are you a lawyer? If so, are you working in Germany? Is your speciality corporate and financial law?

Because unless you are I am not so confident about taking your advice regarding what is and what isn't legal in Germany. We are a registered company here and we don't have a license to give financial advice. We paid a lot of money to ensure we are compliant and the advice we were given from our lawyers, who charged 350 EUR an hour BTW, was that we can explain the workings of the tool we sell but we cannot give trading advice. Period.

Another question. Before you bought leonArdo you saw we offered a free demo version, right? Why didn't you try that out before you bought?

You are asking questions for which there is no single/straightforward answer. There are no magic settings that I use for CLAM or ETH. I look at each currency pair and set up the bot parameters based on what I see. For the current parameters how many times would the bot have swung between buy and sell cycles? Is past behavior going to reflect future behavior? Who the hell knows? If the course moves away from your bot parameters it could be that the bot doesn't make anything and the next time you come back to it you need to re-set the parameters. What is the volume like on the pair? There is no point trading with 1 BTC on a pair that has a daily trading volume of just a few BTC. The market is not deep enough. Choose pairs that are not in a pump/dump phase, but rather have a mostly sideways, horizontal, profile. That's where leonArdo performs best. If you suspect the course might move outside your bot parameters you can use to Min. effective gain setting to set a negative value which allows the bot make a loss up to the percentage you set in the hope that it can then continue trading. You can do that, or you can leave it at a positive value and make those decisions yourself. What's better? Depends on the situation/currency pari/knowledge of trader etc. Another couple of interesting parameters are the length of time you give the bot as a history window and the length of time you wait until you replace a bot order. What are the right settings for CLAM - there are no right settings for CLAM! You need to practice. Overtime you will get better and yet you will still always make mistakes.

And check in on leonArdo regularly enough. It will need tweaks. Stop and re-start bots. Fire up a new currency and new bots. Get out of a currency that is dying a slow death etc.

You won't make 41% every night - that is why I had to go back a week to pull out a very good performing bot image! If I made 41% every night on every pair with leonArdo, I wouldn't have to sell leonArdo.

Where leonArdo excels is that it trades without emotion. It will wait for the price to come to it and not make a rash decision, like I probably would, to adapt my order. Of course, if the price turns just before hitting leonArdo's order then it also wont react. Another benefit is that it can react to rapidly changing courses and it never sleeps - unlike you or I.

And just so you don't think I am pulling your leg and secretly making 41% every night I have attached a screenshot of how leonArdo did last night on XCP. Last night the mArgin maker bot did one buy/sell cycle and made 2.58% effective gain after trading fees. Then the course keep going up and since then the bot has done nothing! Bummer. I will have to re-evaluate what I will do with it today. 2.58% a day is no 41%, but it's still a hell of a lot more than my bank is offering me for my savings (less than 1% a year).

The best of luck in your trading endeavours.

If you have any specific questions regarding the functionality of any aspect of leonArdo I am only too happy to help.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

So how long before we can add our own algorithms and setups? Been watching this for awhile now.

This is complex stuff and we want to do it right.

It will be a while.

There are other things that we will get out first.

How do I handel it, when the margin maker fills 0.99 BTC of my 1 BTC buy order and the market wents up to the margin range where the sell of the 0.99 BTC should stay. But it always sticks on the 0.01 BTC buy and waits to get filled before it sets the sell order. The bot could make good profit with that 0.99 sell.

Agreed. For that we would need an order pool which handles partial order fills.

It's on our radar to implement that.

Thanks for your feedback.

Just a humble opinion for an algorithm as a work around with existing features.

After first buy order partially filled,
Leonardo can create a sell order directly

and whenever another partial buy order happens,
adapt amount to add over the existing sell order.

if sell order happens partially, adapt amount to add over the existing buy order.

it can be easier to implement, and very efficient with the feature of editing bot parameters while it is running.

Best Regards

Thanks for your input!

Guys I have an issue where some of my bots stop one at a time they always  stop on a sell, and I can't figure out why as I am not buyin and selling large amounts and I have more than plenty btc in reserve. The only thing I can think of is that I am on a shared WiFi network at work and it is currently being a bit slow. Any thoughts?

Hi ScotiaMine,

Yes, as KDoge said, I'd need to see the logs.

If you have a really dodgy network connection then the bot will stop at a certain point because to go on placing trades would be irresponsible or may not even be possible.

The main logs can be found in the hidden .leonArdo folder in your home directory.

You can send them to me: contact@marginsoftware.de

Jonathan

Wow! Good day for trading on Clam today. Lots of volume, up and down all day. I made the price of this bot back just today!

Yeah, while testing leonArdo cloud I had a great day on Clam last week. Made 41% in a day  Wink

What settings are you using?  I ask because if I use the default settings on Clam, it just stops trading on its own and sits there.  Seems that issue still isn't fixed so I need a point of reference.  If I'm not setting it up correctly, I'm fine with accepting that as my own fault but I really do need a bit of guidance.  That said, what settings are you using for Clam?  I assume it's Margin trading, but what are the other settings?

Thanks,
Percivul

Hi Percivul,

There are no magic settings! You have to look at each markets volatility and history and decide on which settings to choose. And don't expect to make 41% on every pair every day. It ain't going to happen.

We are not legally allowed to provide any trading advice. If others want to share settings they are free to do so, but we just cannot.

The bot I used in this example was the mArgin maker bot, but it was not margin trading.

Best wishes,
Jonathan
