How would you go about cashing out very large sums of Bitcoin, or other cryptocurrency?
A hypothetical example:
You were fortunate to purchase five thousand Bitcoin, when it was only pennies a coin, and it's now worth a whopping $130,000,000. This is now sitting in cold storage in your digital wallet, and you want to cash out 100 million usd.
1) Are Coinbase and Gemini your only convenient options? Will they be able to cash out such a large sum, and send the proceeds to your financial institutions without issues?
2) FDIC insurance only covers up to 250k per bank account. So, you would need more than four hundred accounts in order to cover all 100 million dollars. Is there a better way? Can you just send all 100 million directly to your Vanguard brokerage account? How do the ultra-wealthy do it??
3) What would happen if you suddenly sent a hundred million dollars to several banks/financial institutions? Would the IRS be immediately notified? Would your accounts get frozen? How do you avoid this?
No snarky answers, please. The above are only hypothetical examples. I don't own 5000 Bitcoin. Not even remotely close.
If you don't have that many bitcoins, then why ask such questions? Why immediately legalize 100,000,000? There are many jurisdictions in the world where you can legalize bitcoins and earn small taxes, but this will be done in stages so as not to attract the attention of the tax authorities. But sometimes it is better to resolve the issue of citizenship and tax residence first. |

probably but i think albert einstein has a famous quote about keeping things as simple as possible but no simpler than necessary i guess that doesn't apply to countries taxing their citizens though huh? maybe you can find the quote. what's wrong with just a flat tax so everyone pays the same percent no matter if they are an individual or business? then you could reduce your tax code down to one sentence and save alot of trees in the process. of course that would put alot of tax "professionals" out of work. so they wouldn't want that. There are global accounting standards on the basis of which experts evaluate various global companies, their value, and so on. But why is all this for individuals? Why do they need to know what value added tax is? The state should be interested in individuals engaging in business, because this greatly reduces social costs. It is more profitable for the state for a citizen to do business rather than stand in lines for social benefits. |

Just a question, anybody who used KYC during LBC operation all those trades under that person's name is usually filed in their database ready for request from the tax man aka IRS or HMRC (if British)
Now that local bitcoin is dead....I remember it gave people an option to delete their account. If some one did. Does that now mean any trades during its operation are not recoverable by the tax man?
Since technically nobody would be able to answer the request from LBC since no employees and the account information people had a chance to delete just before it shutdown.

Then you need to have more compelling excuses if government agencies ask you questions. Binance and P2P are good but the individuals dont have enough single point of liquidity for us to swap/exchange. So it would be good to even partner with a group that has that sum of KZT to USDT

А чего здесь циничного, все ж нормально. Просто обсуждаем тему что и как с эфиром и чего потенциально можно ждать. Я сам далек конечно от конспирологических теорий, однако то что вы излагаете это вполне себе реальный ход развития событий. Это как когда-то в 90-е типа назначали смотрящего. Ну вполне себе может быть и такое. Ничего же по большому счету не изменилось. Мы тут все обсуждаем PoS, a кто то ведь знал что он будет и что потом пойдёт концентрация стейкинга в несколько крупнейших холдеров. Лидо вероятно тоже хорошо контролируется в этой связке. Но как то обвинять технарей в таком сценарии неправильно, они же просто делают свое дело и неплохо. А вот ушлые финансисты конечно на этом погреют ручки свои загребущие. На эту историю можно же посмотреть и по-другому. Джозеф Любин конечно был финансистом, и много где работал в централизованных финансовых структурах. Однако потом он вполне мог стать ренегатом и увлечься созданием децентрализованной финансовой системы. Он же финансист. Финансисты все индивидуалисты. И он вполне мог сообразить, что в современной финансовой системе ему расти больше некуда. Все позиции уже заняты. Почему бы им не создать убийцу Эфириума в такой ситуации? Иметь всё, лучше чем иметь только часть. Есть еще много факторов, после которых у Виталика поперло. Без поддержки такое не делается. А поперрло,потому что в него вложились банкиры. А пользователей лучше привлекать рабочей экосистемой, а не возможностью получить очередной дроп от проекта и обещаниями. Рад что Гевин Вуд пересмотрел свое мнение на счет развития Polkadot. Изначально сложная системы была придумана чтобы скам проекты не смогли стать парачейнами. Облегчая в одном месте происходит ухудшение в другом. Да и обновление еще не скоро. I believe this will reduce scammers since everyone will be eager to report them while they have funds that can be seized by Binance once report is proven. Fraudsters work on Binance using other people’s personal data, and to combat fraud, you need to verify your identity every week using a video call. In the meantime, as long as it remains possible to work on crypto exchanges using someone else’s documents, fraud will continue. Yeah, the amount of reward is laughable but the disadvantage for scammer that will be report was their funds will be seize despite they are using different identity. You will need to escrow your balance to Binance once you create a buy&sell order on Binance P2P. Reporting the scammer while he/she has an existing order will surely trap his balance and seize it by the exchange. I think this is what Binance thinking on this program but I really agree that reward is too low for the trouble. Has Binance P2P changed its rules and now the buyer needs to make a bank transfer of dollars or euros to the exchange account? In this case, it is very difficult to commit fraud, but it will also be difficult for users to work with the crypto exchange.
