I can help, I can help:

642  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: March 11, 2013, 03:23:17 PM
Maybe you are waiting because most units go to Chinese customers first, and they really made far more units than said here?
Quote from: PuertoLibre;17885
I should point out that Avalon sold 1000 units within Batch 1 (in China).

300  sold separately overseas including the USA.

So revise your power numbers.

1300 units * 67Gh/s = XXTH/s

Edit: By the way, 600 units in China in Batch 2. It is unkown how many exactly in the USA in Batch 2 since the orders were botched and pieced together.

Lolz ..just like BFL has sold over 19,000 ASICs Roll Eyes

Ah, the joys of spreading FUD Wink

643  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 08, 2013, 10:43:43 PM
Everyone else is making orders and hoping that this is legit.

Please tell me people aren't really this stupid..

To quote the late (late, late) Thomas Tusser:

Non-poetic translation: A fool and his money are soon parted

This thread is hilarious. How many sockpuppets those ASIC startup scam managed to pre-register?

Indeed haha, everyone knows it's a scam but we've still managed to pull it out to 23 pages Cheesy
645  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining company valuation on: March 07, 2013, 07:30:57 PM
How would or do people go about valuing a mining company. Say a company has got an Avalon at what 60gh/s, how would people value this? At the price of the hardware, revenue projections? What?

If rev projections how would you calculate it?

A company with one Avalon running at 60GH/s would probably show how much they're making per day / week at the current difficulty, subtract any expenses (such as electricity, hardware costs, and "Management Fees"), and then distribute the remainder to all investors.

That said, valuing a company really comes down to how much the company takes away in fees / other expenses, how they've structured their dividend payments, and how much equipment they have.

Revenue projections come down to figuring out how much you're making at the current difficulty, and then figuring it out again as the difficulty increases. There's no surefire way to know what the difficulty will be, but it helps to try and make a prediction. What I've done in the past is to figure out how many preorders there were for all ASIC companies, and compare that to statistical data I pulled from the top pools (essentially getting an idea of who the "hardcore" miners were). It's even more difficult to make these predictions now that ASICs are starting to mine...compared to when it was just GPUs and FPGAs.

If price or hardware do you consider the time of investment not earning when the device has not been shipped? And someone has had their money / investment tied p for possibly 3+ months?

Typically no, since the "mining" company isn't "mining". And a 3 month investment is really not long at all in the big picture Wink
646  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I Predict Difficulty Will Be Over 100 Million by Summer 2013 on: March 07, 2013, 07:06:09 PM
hey send me a prv msg  if bfl  pays in btc not promised   imaginary asics in the future like u geting paid in

send me link i troll for them 2

What?

Relax, he's just trolling the shit out of the mining speculation subforum with terrible grammar and zero logic. I ignored him when he hit 13 posts (a new record for any newbie, by the way).
647  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin and the ASIC Conundrum on: March 07, 2013, 07:01:50 PM

Was there a point to dig up a half-necroed thread just to quote the first post?

Lower is better. Gives me another chance to get in again at a great price Wink

I think 67117 is  proxy pool. The hash output is always simillar to SLUSH's. SLUSH has 2.6% rejection rate -they obviusly  proxy pooling. Still not real proof of working ASIC.

Or it could be ASICMiner Roll Eyes
It could be, true.

Haha there's no "could be"..it is ASICMiner Wink  ...I was being sarcastic before Tongue
650  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 06, 2013, 01:37:02 AM
how many do you have now? just the one?

Also curious how quickly users could acquire these. I don't care if I only could run it for 6 months before the power consumption exceeds the income. If in those 6 months I make back the investment and then some then I'd be a happy customer.

Guys , i am trying to wrap my head around this one :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=148832.0

if its legit we need more Hashing Power online soon.

It's not legit. New poster with no history comes along and *poof* "Look at my ASIC that I'm selling!!" is a scam 99% of the time.

Of course, anyone is free to prove me wrong with an investment of 1300 Euro with this guy...
652  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL SC Pre-Order Information on: March 03, 2013, 07:17:38 PM
Times 15454 orders = 1,499 TH or 1.5 PETA hashes per second = ~215 Million difficulty ONLY counting BFL.  Grin

You do realize there aren't actually 15k orders..right? Even some community contributors have actually written a couple papers on the subject..

BFL recently culled all the unpaid orders. They were almost at 20k and now they're down to 17k after. I believe most of the papers you refer to were written before then, but if you have any links I'd like to see what else they say.

Ha, but you're still assuming that there have been that many orders to begin with...which is essentially assuming that over 50% of all known workers have purchased at least a Single SC.
653  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinbase Warning !!! on: March 03, 2013, 06:52:25 PM
Have you read their ToS?  Ya know, the actual CONTRACT THAT YOU WENT INTO WITH THEM?

I'm sure they disclaim responsibility for this sort of thing, since, you know, they don't want HIGH RISK PURCHASES?

And, do you know that every financial services provider ever does this?

EDIT: Yup, they do!
3.1 Coinbase may cancel or reverse potentially high-risk purchases made using reversible payment methods.
https://coinbase.com/legal/user_agreement

There is no legal basis for this thread whatsoever.  Coinbase wins.  Sorry!

Aww, this was the conclusion that the OP was supposed to draw after digging up the contract that they agreed to.

for the record  josh was hired couse his a deciving cunt just like is wife at bfl

to lie and lead on the succkers

there is a incredible ammount of deleting and censoring goin on bfl forums  aka  north korea style

u not lick bfl ass? ur done baned etc

oh and not to forget    JOsh  mean time  is running  eclipse mining pool
so having none els to do then lieng about delivery dates

have come up with the idea to host ur  asic miners oneces and iff they get delivered

on his pool and for 7 times the electricity cost

make sure u punish the cunt
now that u know

Sorry, I can never take anyone seriously when they have large quantities of grammatical errors in their statements. I've bolded the spelling errors, and I've underlined sentences that don't flow (or make sense) for your convenience. It's by no means fixed after all my added adjustments, but maybe it'll get you into your 3rd grade English class.

On a side note: I've always wondered this, but why do people use shorthand when typing on a keyboard? Like "ur" and "u"...is it really that hard for some people to type out "your" and "you"?
655  Economy / Speculation / Re: Review of S.DICE on: March 02, 2013, 03:10:25 PM
So with the BTC rallying up, S.DICE is valued at ... 1 000 000 000 * .0062 = BTC6200000 @ $30 | $18,6000,000
Is this high? low? about right?

Hmm...I dunno.  Just because BTC is at $30+ does not mean you can do calcs like that.  Is it extremely valuable, yes.  But to extrapolate like that, just does not make sense.  Think about it a minute.

I thought it was only 100 million shares total, not a billion?

Even so, how does valuing a company in USD (or any currency that a Bitcoin can be converted to) not make sense? Just because they operate in Bitcoins doesn't mean we can't do some quick math to figure out their "real world" worth...
656  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Update - 3-1-13 on: March 02, 2013, 05:28:51 AM
Fly or Fail, it's all in BFL's hands.

Let us pray for a miracle. (....the world is holding its breath)

^ I got my miracle today. ^

Nice!!! So they shipped all 300 and customers are mining on them, right? Oooohhhhhhh, sorry...I forgot Avalon missed their timeline as well...
657  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon URGENT ISSUE: both of my avalon do not work any more on: March 02, 2013, 05:24:51 AM
To all gentlemen,

Issue fixed immediately after I upload latest firmware to avalon.   Grin

Thanks avalon team for their prompt supporting.

Fantastic!

Thanks for the update, and happy mining Wink
658  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon URGENT ISSUE: both of my avalon do not work any more on: March 02, 2013, 03:26:14 AM
Sounds like a software or network issue since it's unlikely that both units would simultaneously have hardware failure.  I'd drag it over to a friends place or something and see if it works on their network, update the firmware, reset it to whatever defaults it has, etc.

This is my thought as well...near simultaneous failures from the hardware generally (at least in the SysAdmin world) rules out hardware errors (though it's possible). Have any recent updates been applied (intentionally or not), can any other pools be reached, or have any networking changes occurred (not being in China, I don't know how much they'd limit connections for Bitcoin)?

Just some food for thought. I'll think about it for a bit, though I'm sure there are dozens of capable minds in this community that can far surpass mine. I'm curious to see what BitSyncom comes back with.
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Forgot to pay miner transaction fee...help? on: March 02, 2013, 02:20:20 AM
it confirmed like 10 hours after. What a relief. That's a crazy long wait for no miner fee.

I've had this happened to me as well when moving funds to BTCJam recently. It took about 12 hours to finally show a confirmation. No worries though, I've never had an instance where the funds never actually have gone through...just a delay every now and again.
660  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock][KCIM] Korb Investments – Establishing my Investment Firm, part 1 on: March 02, 2013, 01:17:46 AM
Happy March everyone!
I figured it was about time I gave everyone a company update.

As everyone should know by now, 8 Single SCs were purchased with company funds in January (order numbers 16100 and 16252). Since then, I’ve had more than enough funds to purchase 3 (maybe 4 if this rally keeps up) more Singles, but at this time I would rather wait until the orders we already have are filled.

That said, there’s really no point in continually selling Notes when it’s really just going to sit in the account for me to pay interest on (which is great for investors, but not so great for me).
On March 8th, 2013, Lightbox (James, the Havelock manager) has agreed to pull any remaining Notes off the open market for KCIM.

All this means is that no new shares can be purchased, and instead people will have to buy/sell shares from each other instead. This also has the benefit of stabilizing my finances a bit since I’ll know the exact amounts I’ll be paying for dividends (and eventually buybacks) each month. So, if you wish to purchase from the fund itself (and not from another investor) this will be your last week to do so.

Speaking of buybacks, I currently (still) have them slated to start on June 1st, 2013. Even given the continued Butterfly Labs delays, I am unsure if pushing this timeline back (again) is warranted. Assuming BFL manages to start shipping this month, I will more than likely receive my personal equipment (2 Singles ordered back in August and November, respectively) before June. This has the benefit of adding a bit of funding before the January orders come in, which will help.

If anything, my first option here is to modify the current Buyback Rate (the percentage I purchase back each month). To maintain solvency without any mining revenue, I can lower the rate to 5-10% instead of 20-25%. This means I would purchase back fewer of the outstanding Notes, leaving more in investor hands. As you may surmise, this is better for you and worse for me since I’ll be paying out more interest to more people.
Regardless, I think this option is better than drafting up another contractual amendment for everyone to look at and agree to.

Other than that, I’m sure everyone has notice that they’re received their February interest payment. The March payment is scheduled, so everyone should be receiving a notification about it soon. The latest company documents can be found under the Company Docs and Links section, and this includes the Korb and Co. Investments Financials up through February.

As always, if anyone has any comments, questions, or concerns please feel free to get in touch with me through this thread, email, or PM.

Cheers,
-Andrew
