The SP20 can be under-clocked to ~0.5 J/GH, depending on cooling and specific ASIC batch.

Cooling?
Ambient temperature.

Within 1-2 days we'll reach to "shipping from stock" status.

okay my sp20 arrived fedex sent it early.  woke me up and I answered the door half dressed.  but this is not the story.

I open the box gear looks good.  So I was wondering how do I set this up. I go to the site of sp-tech and do not see much for set up.

This thread is 450 pages so plain and simple were are the setup instructions's.

I do not mind starting a thread on setup with a ton of photos and links.

thanks for help

There is no need to do any physical modifications inside the unit.
Everything that should have been cleaned cleaned at the factory.

Some people, who are technical, changed fans or made emersion cooling systems and so far that didn't cause any problems.
But you must be aware that if someone changes something and the units stops working we have the right to decide that the warranty no longer applies because of the nature of the change or the way the change was done.

cleaning would hardly be described as a physical modification (other than by notorious scammers KnC/CoinTerra)

that being said, i can find no mention of warranty terms on the spondoolies-tech site.

so either way, cleaning the heatsinks that i could reach seems to have helped.

the ability to adjust the fans to a higher speed than 90 may also help with my ambient heat concerns... i'm sure i mentioned that long before discussing opening the rig to clean it & thus voiding the warranty.

does anyne have a copy of these terms at hand?

i recall having to click on some agreement when first connecting to the sp20 but not the sp30.

Our term of sales are here:
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/pages/terms-of-sale

Please send us an email before attempting to modify or open the box.

I resent the comparison.
I agree that loosing warranty over cleaning heat sink is indeed draconian a bit. On the other hand, mishandling the ASICs, like applying too much pressure can cause damage.

Whatever happened to Cowboy Miners? Did they salvage what they could and get their operation up and running again?
They asked not to share more info and I respect their wish.

Order 3242. I don't have a ticket number, but have sent 3 emails through your contact form on your website.
Found the ticket. Your miner will be shipped on Sunday and we'll compensate for the delay from the 18, as written few pages back.

Hi All
We have now new support team.
You can see them online as spond.support.1 (Sonya) and spond.support.2 (Michael).
They accept direct Skype calls between 14:00-16:00 and 19:00-21:00 Israel time.

You can also send mail like always, to support@spondoolies-tech.com.

If they can not help, they will redirect you to me.

Well, got up early today to talk to support. It's 14:37 Jerusalem time, nobody there.

Now I gotta go to work.

I get off work too late to talk to them at 1900 hours...some I'm screwed for another week.

I feel your pain, they've been ignoring my emails for 3 days now. Customer support is non-existent.
What's your order# and support ticket# ?

It looks like both Batch 1 and Batch 2 can both be ordered for the SP20s right now.  Maybe a stupid question, but what is the difference?

We had a problem with the website, thanks for letting us know.
The batch one units are being shipped with last ones being shipped out tomorrow.
1095  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 19, 2014, 05:52:55 AM
So are the SP20's shipping today the 18th or the 26th now?
Due to the huge demand, some of the miners will be shipped late.
We'll compensate for the diff from later of the (18th,  day of payment received) until the day of actually shipping.

Guy

thanks

   at  a rate of :

1400gh = 0.01747 a day
1500gh = 0.01872 a day
1600gh = 0.01997 a day
1700gh = 0.02121 a day

I used https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

I purchased early around the 12th so my clock starts on the 18th  it is now the 19th so 1 day so far.

0.02125 BTC per day

Guy, I would be interested in your thoughts on this:
http://www.coindesk.com/kncminer-plans-16nm-bitcoin-mining-asic-launch-2015/

Does ST have plans for a competing product launch at about the same timeframe?
Some comments on https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-118:

- When you don't intend to ship anything, you can come out with whatever FUD numbers you want
- 16ff+ will be ready for mass production in Q3
- 0.07 J/GH is nothing special on 16ff+. It's achievable even on 28, if you employ extreme non standard design techniques (which I won't get into) and under-volt the ASIC considerably. The real questions are what will be the GHs/mm^2 (hashing silicon density) and $/GHs (total system cost) when achieving it.
