Love the friendly exchange of advice from Hyper.

I don't mean to hijack the thread so I probably won't post a lot in the future. I love RPG's and the name GP is genius I want to see it work Wink
922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GP] GoldPieces - Launch Announcement Thread - Friday January 9th on: January 14, 2015, 12:28:51 AM
You can get away with even one seednode, but you have none

Alright i'l get one setup, Thanks

~Inkha

Trust me 10 nodes as well would be best Wink Sorry to sound like a broken record!

That's true a seednode would be great as well. I still recommend 10 nodes it is better for the network and shows you are a long term coin. Not many nodes is not good for the network and makes people think you aren't serious. I think you are though which is why I am giving you advice Wink I had 10 for HYPER from launch to make sure the network and users were 100% OK.
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GP] GoldPieces - Launch Announcement Thread - Friday January 9th on: January 14, 2015, 12:05:15 AM
Dev don't let this coin die because of lack of nodes! I think it is great there is another gaming crypto (as well as Gamerscoin) out there please make some nodes and make sure it survives. You can also package a goldpieces.conf with the wallets for users Wink I have some proposals for collaboration I have a project in the works we can all benefit from and will be contacting you soon.

I can make more nodes I was told 2 should be plenty. How many do you recommend I add for maximum safety?

You want 10. Inspires confidence when people go to sync the wallet and there are lots of connections Wink It shows the coin has good infrastructure. Nice GIF I like it! After 6 months or so exchanges and GP fans will add all the nodes you need but you need 10 for now for at least 3-6 months.

927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | funding science education, research, & development on: January 13, 2015, 11:17:16 PM

That's a great idea to send $1 to worthy science campaigns from the EMC2 Foundation. Maybe you could tell them that if they would accept an EMC2 donation you could give them more a little more in the form of EMC2?

Sounds frustrating. I never imagined it would be hard to find campaigns to fund. But with the long term thinking you guys have I am sure it will definitely pay off in the end for EMC2 being able to carry out its mission. Feel free to tweet some stuff to @hypercrypto and we can spread the word a little.

A dedicated EMC2 youtube channel is a great idea. Since we started posting weekly youtube video updates and also our new HYPER intro video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMTt3zAJgpg Interest has been soaring. I would highly recommend getting an EMC2 youtube channel off the ground with an intro video and weekly videos if you have the resources Wink

Also it sounds to me like perhaps EMC2 should go straight for the source, and set up your own crowdfunding platform where people can donate EMC2 and other supported cryptocurrencies to worthy science / world changing projects. That would be something and as most of the support is from cryptocurrencies (especially EMC2) why not? It would get a lot of press too as there is nothing quite like it as of yet. Beats waiting around for Indiegogo or another site to add cryptocurrency support. With coinpayments it wouldn't be too hard to set up either.

Just my 0.02 EMC2 you all are doing a great job and you've been steadily plugging away at your goals while many, many other coins have come and gone.

Yes, we do have a youtube channel, the video in the campaign is the most recent addition, the campaign gallery video is our 'about us' (EMC2) video.  You're right we should provide additional video, but as Varvarin indicated our hope is that the success of this campaign will bring on more projects to work with.

When I mentioned sponsoring youtube channels, we would pay channel owner for the right to place a few second clip at the start of their video: "this video was sponsored by" [show EMC2 logo] "The Einsteinium Foundation .... (with a catchy tagline ... 'donating to science')"  and also have a mention at  the channel's youtube channel info page.

Indiegogo is a magnificent CF platform, there are very many other CF platforms some of which with a focus on science all of them will be used.  As for setting up a CF platform here is where we would need to partner with you to create a platform.  You know there are a ton of games seeking CF each year, this would also serve as a source for your gamer coin consortium (the three coins) as well.

Between the cause-coin consortium and the gamer-coin consortium we have a minimum of 8 different coins represented to start.   I think this type of project could serve all involved very well -- let me know what you think.

Here's a good reference: https://www.startjoin.com/

Replied to your PM Wink Maybe we could merge platforms if everyone agrees.
928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Anon Web Wallet ~ Disruptive Game Currency ~ On Bloomberg ~5% PoS on: January 13, 2015, 10:14:17 PM

I don't actually use coin control as HYPER stakes all the time anyway (if you send coins with old coin-age / high stake weight by mistake you only need to wait 24 hours to stake more, so it isn't the end of the world like with coins that have much longer staking times) but here is my understanding of it:

Each line corresponds to a group of coins sharing the same coin-age since they arrived in your wallet during the same transaction either from staking or when they were sent to you. The "Date" column indicates the time this group of coins landed in your wallet or when they last staked. The "Date" column effectively lets you determine the coin-age.

Amount is the number of coins that are eligible to stake and that are trying to generate a stake for you right now.

Date is when the coin-age was reset (when the coins were sent to the wallet or when they last staked). So the older the date the more coin-age those coins have. However as HYPER stakes so often you will find that often larger groups of coins that are newer will have a higher staking priority.

Priority is their priority to stake (try and use lower priority coins for transactions to send etc)

So with current HYPER coin control coin-age is implied from the "Date" column and stake weight is implied from the "Priority" column.

As HYPER stakes every 24 hours if you have a decent amount of HYPER most of the time your coins are going to be sitting at highest priority trying to stake Wink

Thank you for the detailed explanation !!  Makes things a lot clearer!  Smiley Cool

No problem so with HYPER coin control you can work out which coins to not send as they are about to stake Wink Also every now and then you will want to consolidate the smaller amounts of coins from the staking of stakes themselves back into larger chunks. You will have the highest stake weight if every now and then you consolidate all your coins into one chunk / input again Wink

EDIT: Don't forget to listen to the new HYPER song guys. Warning it is dub step style by @SonicGrimeMusic https://soundcloud.com/sonic-grime/hyper Wink
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Anon Web Wallet ~ Disruptive Game Currency ~ On Bloomberg ~5% PoS on: January 13, 2015, 09:35:05 PM

Its just nice to be able to select "lesser weight" coins and lesser aged coins for sending,  so you don't have to sacrifice "older" coins that have more weight.

That's why I like using coin control.

And have you actually looked in Hyper's coin control window?   Could please you post a screen shot where it lists coin age?
Because I sure don't see it there.. I see the dates, but not "age" (in days) ..  maybe I'm missing something..

Thanks !!

I can second this observation. This has been known all the time. There is no coin age listed. But if you noticed, the number of confirmations list that is ordered from largest to smallest is pretty much the same ordering for coin age. So for now, the number of confirmations can be used. For a temporary way to calculate coin age more-or-less, you can just take the # confirmations * # HYPER for each input. This way, you can tell which input should have the lowest coin age to do your transactions with.

I would say we should also consider changing the default behavior of transacting with the highest confirmed coins (the default from bitcoin) to that of the lowest coin age. This way, most people shouldn't worry about coin control.

That is a great suggestion meowball! I will add that to the development list too Wink The HYPER wallet does have advanced coin control it is just a slightly older version than some of the other wallets that have been shown. We will update it as soon as possible most likely in the next release.

You can use confirmations but also the number of coins is very important. Smaller amounts tend to have lower staking priority. Staking priority is the best way to know which HYPER to send and which to keep in your wallet for staking.

Made a screenshot with explanation below:

I don't actually use coin control as HYPER stakes all the time anyway (if you send coins with old coin-age / high stake weight by mistake you only need to wait 24 hours to stake more, so it isn't the end of the world like with coins that have much longer staking times) but here is my understanding of it:

Well we have a staking graph in the wallet in the main window which shows stake weight over time and most other wallets do NOT have this feature. Do you have the latest version?

It wasn't really clear to me if that was my weight in the graph or the network weight (as some clients tell that in the hover window).

So, I'm guessing that is the individuals (users) coin weight?

And thanks for working on adding some of these features !!!  That's great!

No problem Wink I've just asked Palm Detroit if we can add these features to the next wallet version and I will post here in the thread as soon as I know if we are going to include them in the next release!

The staking graph is YOUR stake weight of your coins in the HYPER wallet Wink

931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Anon Web Wallet ~ Disruptive Game Currency ~ On Bloomberg ~5% PoS on: January 13, 2015, 07:55:50 PM

Just go to settings -> options -> display (tab) -> display coin control

I hope that answers your question. Coin age should be easily viewable in coin control. Personally I don't use these features as coins stake every 24 hours so it is not like you have to wait long and carefully make sure you don't reset coin age on some coins by mistake Wink

I still don't see where it lists coin age in "coin control" window..
I see confirmations number.. and date..  I guess that's all there is for now?

If you would like staking weight more easier to be displayed I can ask PalmDetroit to include this in the next QT wallet release. We are constantly working on the next releases.

Yea, most wallets show staking information,  like some of the previous example screenshots.
Kind of surprised you guys haven't done this yet.
Not trying to be a dick..  just sayin'

Well we have a staking graph in the wallet in the main window which shows stake weight over time and most other wallets do NOT have this feature. Do you have the latest version?

Also after you activate coin control you can then view as list (go to transactions tab and then open the coin control) this will then display all the different "chunks" of coins you have and their coin age. AFAIK the date shows when coin age started. I don't use it as coins stake every 24 hours anyway so it isn't like I am waiting for weeks for a stake.

Anyway like I said we can add the other requested features to the next version of the wallet, we've had two releases in the last month and there will be another one soon Wink I've added them to the wallet development list as I said.

EDIT: These 2 features have been added to the development list and should be in the next HYPER QT wallet release https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624651.msg10140868#msg10140868 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624651.msg10140889#msg10140889

Got a couple of nice new HYPER banners thanks to Cryptoinfinity that is also hosting some HYPER gaming competitions https://cryptoinfinity.com/Thread-Open-Competition-4-New-HYPER-Game-Competitions. If you know of any cryptocurrency / gaming / BTC blogs or news sites that want to earn some HYPER for advertising please PM me with site statistics and advertising rates per month.

Just me here with some critique....I have a really good graphic designer in mind for this. Will you allow me to run some ideas past him?  He does all my club gig stuff and works as a designer professionally.

Just list the sizes here and I'll have him eye some graphics based on the websites, videos, and the soundtrack. I know how to muse his soul to come up with some sick graphics for us.  Just say the word.

Personally these banners I think could be much better....especially top one.

Hey jt. Great idea he can start with making a banner the same size as above if he likes? These banners are just something to get us started we have some older ones but I like these new ones better. I can send him a tip for it like I have for you with the videos Wink Please keep us updated!

AGain...apologies for my honesty.  I'll see what he can do...I'm really busy over the week and weekend but I'll see if he's interested at least.

Carry on

No need to apologize. These were made quickly by http://cryptoinfinity.com as we are running ads on their site, and they are a good start but something by a professional graphic designer would be awesome. If he has the time to work for a HYPER tip please let me know! Keep me updated.

And as I mentioned before webmasters of crypto and gaming sites please PM me to earn HYPER for running ads on your site!

Nice banners! Do you want me to keep the one I have up or swap to one of those (and if swap, which)?

I think swap for the bottom one and let's see how it goes Wink Also please make sure they are pointing to the new website at http://hypercrypto.com but I am sure you already did that can't remember Wink

that's what I mean, bottom right corner Smiley

Ok thanks. I will see if we can get it added to the next release. Added it to the development list Wink

I will get both added to the next HYPER QT wallet release.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

The wallet does stake every 24 hours so as long as you have a nice chunk of HYPER after a while you will be staking all the time Wink In fact after your stakes of stakes start staking you will be getting HYPER all the time if you leave your wallet running Wink

Also, there is of course the staking graph in the wallet that also shows your stake weight over time Wink
937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Anon Web Wallet ~ Disruptive Game Currency ~ On Bloomberg ~5% PoS on: January 13, 2015, 06:54:43 PM
I think he's talking about the new features included in Hyperstake coin.
.

Well PalmDetroit can add that to the next HYPER QT wallet no problem Wink I will add it to the development list it looks good.

You can still see coin age with the coin control option on in the wallet we have now too.
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Anon Web Wallet ~ Disruptive Game Currency ~ On Bloomberg ~5% PoS on: January 13, 2015, 06:40:44 PM
Is there some way that I can see *my* coin's current staking weight(s) & age?

I don't see anywhere where it shows.  Huh

Bump...

I'd like to see it too Smiley I don't think it's easily viewable ATM...

The HYPER wallet has advanced coin control features.
