1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XPC]PorkCoin X11PoW/PoS Porkcoin  Every 160 blocks Generate Nomal Block on: January 02, 2015, 07:26:46 PM
After a night, I was very pleased to see porkcoin has been successfully released.

The coins in the early stages of coins, I prefer to see more decentralized, more people come to mine  it.

Learn something new every day.  My instinct is to push it till it moves, crank it to 11, but that doesn't work with the R9-290.  Doesn't work because it's throttling for power considerations long before you're hitting 1150.  Just dropped my voltages right down and finally got 23.5 at 1125, I-20.  New understanding of how to handle this card will make for better benchmarks, for true.

Oh, nice price jump today, from 60k to 70k.  Yeah, I'll take credit for that.  Put some orders up last night, woke up to find that I basically owned it on Cryptsy!  Drop a line with your DMD wallet address, I'll give you well earned reward from my ill gotten gains.

hi ...if anyone can give some advice, it would be appreciated

I have 3x290's getting about 6.3mhz each... running sgminer 5  , using catalyst 14.7 r3 driver, mining algo x11....no other settings than X 64 w64.

Can I be getting better speeds using 14.6 drivers...and or other settings ie mem clock etc

thanks

Nope and nope but you can crank your clocks up until they squeak.  I've found power limit at about 1150/1500, then x11 throttles the core clock down.  Unfortunately it's a matter of power, not temperature, so cooling isn't the thing at that point.

Are you sure you're running the right algo?  Tell us more about WHAT you're running and how you're running it.   Software, hardware, that kinda stuff.

Hmmm!  Sure is a memory hog!  Glad I just tightened up the timings tighter than a snare-drum.  7 threads on an FX-8350 running at 5.0Ghz.  I'd feel better if it wasn't telling me "hashespersec" : 0   From peerinfo I'm gonna guess that rpcport=8876?
1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7950 GX2 Mining possible ? on: December 23, 2014, 10:30:01 PM
Is there any way to use this card for mining ?

Have 3 of them and would be cool to use them anyway.

GX2?

7950's are great beastly cards and can be undervolted to 1.09V and still hit 1100/1500+ easy.  Therefore they're great for mining any damn thing.
1150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: December 22, 2014, 02:33:50 PM
Hey guys, what do you think of Iceland jailing its bankers?

Should the people of Iceland share the punishment for taking out loans that they couldn't afford to pay back?

www.aurorapr.co.vu

I remember when Iceland was the country that 'stood up to the bankers'. Now I have some Auroracoin, all I can think is, hey fuck that place  Angry

They had nothing to do with it, that was the whole problem right from the start.  They had no input and were deliberately excluded.  Still one of the most beautiful places on earth, nothing can change that.

Moved to a self-moderated thread so people can't tell you how stupid the idea is.  You seem to forget that this is all a zero-sum game here.  Why not let people just flip coins and reward or penalize themselves with the results?  Nobody MAKES money, it's just shifted around.  Hiding it in a cloud of nonsense changes nothing.  STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!

Kids these days.  Can't even add.

I voted for XMG,
I'm mining & saving it. I think it's gonna be next hit coin.

I quite agree.  The level of support, commitment, actually DOING THINGS puts most coins to shame.

1.5 euros at 500-600kh/s scrypt
Just click the link to register.
Adjust cgminer (3.7.2):

If there was anything with a return like that the big farms would be all over it.   That 2 euros a day is what they pay you to spread the word.

Ignore them, it's a why not situation.   I don't understand why people aren't mining Diamond, far and above the most profitable out there.  Ah shit.... there are optimized miners for ATI, but I don't see a ccminer variation.  Might wanna take a look around though.  Or... I could look just one page further and find an Nvidia miner on their main page.  DUh!  Good luck!

You can only mine on the first card until dev works on the miner.  Everyone with multi card rigs has this problem.

I'll try starting separate instances, see if that works.

Has been tried, you may do better if you install 12x/13x drivers.  I didn't go that far because of the increased performance offered with the 14.9 drivers.

Nope!  HW errors still there and a ton of rejects on the 7950.  Dug up the Stilt 290 bios mods, picked a middle-ground one and it's much more agreeable shall we say.  Now I can overclock that properly for Diamond, check out this algo with the 7950, of course 7 cores for the Magi and my dance card is full!  *sigh*  Still won't really know if miner's working until I pick up a block and I'm still completely um... indescribable... Now I stopped programming a long time ago, 386-486 long time ago, but I programmed a lot for a long long time before that, back past the Apple/Commodore 6502 can't mult or div back to punchcards and Fortran... and I can't imagine programing a set of tools like the qt wallet software, cgminer, minerd etc etc, and having NO FEEDBACK to see how they're communicating!  Why hasn't someone just added that in?  The wallet is the pipeline, no?  It coordinates, hands out work etc etc, so, well you know what I'm saying.  It doesn't seem to be a problem to add a network bandwidth monitor, why not a simple readout to show connected miners?

And just now I notice two Found Blocks for pool 0!   And then I notice that the wallet hasn't synched and is 22 hours behind on block 5654 for some reason.  *sigh*  Time for something else for a while.

Interesting, dropped the mult on the 7950 from 9 to 8, increased hash from 80 to 110 proving that just because you can, might not be good.  Still get hw error on 2'nd card when dropped from 6 to 4.  I'll try starting separate instances, see if that works.  If not, well, that 290 is great for mining Diamond.
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Kryptohash | Brand new PoW algo | 320bit hash | ed25519 | PID algo for dif on: December 08, 2014, 04:32:19 PM
@Atomicat
which r9 290 do you have and what settings do you use for them?

It's an XFX I just picked up last week.  Cards max out at --shaders 1792,2560 --shaders-mul 9,6.  Got three New block detected's so far and four Found Block's.  Four hardware errors on the 290, none on the other.

Could be card/driver/bios.  I just picked it up and haven't thrashed it into shape yet (damn, no hynix mem!)  I think the person who sold it to me thought they were dumping a lemon.  It had one of those awful blocks for a cooler and my jaw dropped when I saw it was idling at 80C!  But I intended to slap this Thermaltake 2.0 on it anyways, and now it stays under 70 no matter what the voltage or load.  Quite possible he might have cooked it a bit just trying to run anything.

So, one valid block somewhere because I'm at 5613 now.  Going to update those drivers, back in a bit.

Just got up to date!

Edit"  And now we seem to be back to waiting for work, ah, there we go, and a block found but not showing up in transactions, still showing block 5612

CG show difficulty 2, wallet display difficulty ": 31.99957275, synchronize the 5609 piece, suddenly have 26 hours block to synchronize again...
 Embarrassed

Same here, block 5611, network traffic twitches but that's it.  Interesting that cgminer is cranking away, for better or worse.  71Kh/s from the 7950, 125Kh/s and an occasional error from the 290.  Ha!  Just said it found two blocks, still at 5611 though and nothing in the transactions log.  Think I"m gonna update my drivers.
