I'm disappointed an Aussie version was left out.

The opening would be something like this:

Great remark with which I very much agree.

Plus there is about to be a tsunami of new developments in this project - from incoming tech to promotional stuff - to be concerned with.

Forget about the trolls. They've had over a year to make their case. They've even been given the run of this thread - unmoderated - to publicly canvas Dash's own followers and potential investors. They've also had the run of the whole of bitcointalk to issuing monthly rafts of adverse propaganda in their own threads.

Their agenda is bankrupt.

Passed its sell by date and reduced to a mix of recycled old slogans, second hand philosopher soundbytes and faux ethical outrage. If it ever had any impact at all, all it's done is to give the valuation more upside than it otherwise would have.

This project is about to enter a major new phase, characterised on the one hand by the opening up of new promotional fronts - some of which have already started to see the light of day - and on the other some very exciting technical evolutions. What's different about this time is that there is a far more robust base to move off from: a 3000+ masternode network, 60% of the coin supply now earning a healthy interest for its holders, significant budgets for development & promotion and a roadmap to do it justice thats no less ambitious than one that's just been delivered upon.

Against that background, there is no need to get distracted by the comedy sideshow other than for entertainment purposes.

I've been pondering the new budget and superblock scheme and a bit unsure what I make of it. If I understand this right the masternodes can vote to create thousands of extra dash to be included in a block.. So this will push the number of dash up from 22 million to some higher number? Is that correct? Is this not a bit like quantitative easing that central banks do ? Someone correct me if i got this wrong . Thanks

I wish crypto would be a nicer place which fostered collaboration, sharing and general good will between different coins and technologies. What ever happened to giving someone a pat on the back and saying good job on trying to further this ground breaking technology, knowing that for something in such its infancy, can never be perfect initially.

Instead trolls from other coins, including their developers love to spread hate, bitterness and focus on something that happened years ago that really has ZERO bearing on the solutions we have today and nor will it in the future. And when specifically for Dash, when there is only a single point of contention, repeat and repeat again, I mean seriously dont you have anything better to do with your lives...You only live once and you trolls love to live it like its groundhog day. Not to mention the majority of the community does not care about it, you had your chance to buy it when it was stupidly cheap, if you didn't, then build a bridge and move on. I can only imagine the grudges (AdamWhite, IceBreaker, Smoothie, Smooth) you would hold against your families if they did something wrong, you would remind them every day of their lives?

I guess its just something other coins and their supporters need to do to fill the void when their coins are boring, stagnant and not going anywhere. Maybe in the hope that it will ruin someone else's great work in the hope they can gain a few dollars. How selfish and greedy. Why not think of the bigger picture? If we all banded together, the probability of being able to have main stream crypto market penetration would be even greater, and hence crypto in general would be worth alot more.

I posted something similar to this about 6 months ago, but I feel like now's a good time to give people my story again. I want both the people researching DASH for the first time, and the old holding veterans who are nervous the FUD might scare people away to know the viewpoint of someone fairly new.

As someone who came in "late" to DASH, I literally could not care less about all the "instamine" drama that a few select posters on here whine about.  There was obviously plenty of time when people could have bought in by the thousands for dirt cheap and they didn't do it.  They're just angry that they blew their chance.

Before I bought DASH I looked into the technology, where it was going, and what some of their ideas for the future were.  I looked at the dev team who pumps out a higher number of more innovative and bigger features faster than I've seen any other coin or tech company produce. And I looked at the fact that Bitcoin essentially hasn't changed the entire time I've been a proponent of it...  That's really what sold me on it.  DASH gets stuff done.  They have the most innovative ideas, they have the skill set to back it up, and they're not afraid to adapt and change things to make the technology better, even if it makes a few people angry.

When researching DASH, my first source of information was the Dashtalk forums.  When I became fully involved in it and needed more discussion to read throughout the day, I came here.  Long story short, other than just impressing me with their ability to spend all day everyday being completely negative without becoming suicidal, the FUD spreaders have had no effect on a new DASH investor/investigator.

The community is amazing and very helpful with anything and everything.  I've been very impressed all around.  Keep up the good work, dev team, testers (very undervalued as I've seen in other projects), and Dash community!  Thanks!

1st, please don't quote, a lot of us have him on ignore so he can't irritate us.  Go ahead and answer him if you want, but when they're obvious trolls, it'd be kind of you to at least not quote him.

And to answer this, and I was there, we didn't have a block explorer for almost a week, that is when we discovered what happened.  Before that, there was no way to know how fast blocks were being found.  Evan saw that the coins were paying out too high, and adjusted his algorithm, which mostly stopped the spillage, but the extent of the spillage was not known until the Block explorer was created. The miners that had a lot of hash may have known, but they didn't tell us.  Evan was probably running a machine or two, but he would not have known, he had a special calculation that was supposed to pay out high if the hash rate was low, and drop as the hash rate raised.  Anyway, after the block explorer came out, and we realized what happened, Evan asked if we wanted to start over again.  Everybody said no.  You have to remember, Evan, as a developer, needed to please the miners because they were the backbone of his new experiment.  What if they didn't come back if he re-launched.  They'd already spent a week with their mining equipment focused on his coin.  So he didn't relaunch.  We all had the same chance to get in on the launch, and the same chance to the coins as our knowledge and abilities and resources allowed us.  That's life.  Life has a little bit of a luck factor.  

But those first 2 days and the week after were hardly the only opportunities for people to make money in Dash.  And by the way, Evan bought up tons of coins, which he then used to pay for bounties.  He bought them 20,000 at a time.  Why would he do that if he were mining them all up?  I think not.

and i'm eagerly awaiting some less feeding of the trolls. let me once again explain the objective of trolls : to disrupt a forum by any means necessary, this is mostly done by posting fear, uncertainty and doubt (fud) posts in that forum and trying to provoke a response, any response upon which can be replied again and again and again.

We are in negative interest rate territory in the US.  This happens right before the gig is up.  Two interesting excerpts from the article below.  So what if we combine these and make it anonymous....digital and cash...dash...Ah I think I see the answer.  DASH is NIRP Resistant.

    First, as noted above, cash and NIRP simply do not mix as cash provides the general population a handy way of circumventing the intentionally punitive implications of negative rates, which as a tax on all savers, would force everyone to spend savings the moment these were created. The thinking here, of course, would be that with savings immediately converted to consumption, the velocity of money would surge and boost economic growth in the process even if it was conducted under punitive rate duress.
    Second, and even more important, is the blockchain basis of bitcoin, which is precisely why the Fed is so fascinated by it. With a perpetual and current ledger of every single transaction in the monetary domain, a digital currency such as bitcoin provides the Fed something cash never would - a constant database (or ledger) of every single transaction everywhere and any given moment.

I would think that it would be - almost, anytime....
