Comfortable, trustless masternode budget voting - Dashwhale.orgWe are very exited to announce the launch of our new voting service, allowing you to comfortably submit your DASH budget votes via the Dashwhale website. For the setup, you simply have enter your masternode privkeys on your masternode settings page. These privkeys are encrypted in your browser with a passphrase, to ensure, that even we don't have access to your privkeys. To cast you votes, simply press the "Vote YES" or "Vote NO" button on the proposal page, enter your passphrase and you are done. Nobody likes to fiddle around with the DASH wallet on command line, to vote for the large amount of budget proposals. I've started using this and it's a godsend! Dashman for updates, DashWhale for voting/monitoring...running an MN is now MUCH easier! I can confirm this. Those two services are like catnip to MN owners! |

No wonder you are bitter and you need to grind away here to try and get the XMR price up. Their regular Polo sugar daddy didn't turn up on time and the bottom's started falling out of XMR which is why they're all over here bouncing off the walls. Please would said sugar daddy attend to business and get it back above 2 again so we can have some peace around here  Oh, I haven't watched it in a while, 0.00189, that smarts! So their desperation is justified, but misguided attempts to attack us aren't going to help them hold the fort at home, though. Tough spot to be in, indeed. There's still small amounts of Dash available here and there which may serve as an escape route from the misery...we won't hold grudges. |

Let me share something - as a young man I was a chess player, a bit later I was a political columnist - and in both fields I had an advantage of seeing a move or more further down the road than the others.....
If we'd have these two goals clearly outlined I'd see a direction this project is going and will have go back to my insane days of having 90% of ALL my investments poured into it. Like this we, obviously, depend on the others to develop the same but if they don't...
Very interesting and relevant stuff, wozzek. You're right, the adoption stuff is a real challenge and till now things have been strategic - like actually aspiring to something that actually can function as money. As you say, the hard bit is getting it adopted, especially when bitcoin itself isn't even in widespread adoption. Will digest. The fact that BTC hasn't gained widespread adoption by now is not a concern at all, if you look at a larger timeframe. Bitcoin, from a Dash perspective, is not very adoptable, due to its lack of fungibility and slow transaction speeds, not to mention a clear lack of direction. Dash, given its intense organization and direction, coupled with a superior product, given a large enough timeframe, will refine and get the word out. It will overtake Bitcoin the rudderless ship at some point. Then it will just be a case of fine-tuning and maintaining. It's really laughable the problems and infighting that Bitcoin has, that Dash, after only 1.5 years in existence, has solved already. We have the means to succeed where Bitcoin failed. We just need time, and I for one, consider this a long-term effort with lots of expected and unexpected ups and downs. We will succeed. |

I was a big fan of Darkcoin/Dash in the past. If i remember correctly, i was the one that revived the whole name changing thing last year and i was very glad that it finally happened, although i thought for a while that Dash sounded pretty stupid.
I admit the fact that i find Evan to be a hard working and talented guy, but he did some big mistakes in the beginning, whether intentional or not, that made this whole project look very shady. The kind of suspicion that will always shadow over the innovations that this guy is bringing.
We all remember that in 2014, the main traits of a scam coin were: "Instamine" (happened with Dash), "Reduction of supply" (happened with Dash) and "Rebranding" (happened with Dash). The thing is that in 2014 we were all naive and beginners in the altcoin scene and maybe Evan saw that and took advantage of it, without ever imagining the repercussions that he would suffer after. This is the story of a visionary young man that started a project with a lot of greed in his mind.
I always thought that the only way to change this is for Evan to quit this project and start another one with a clean distribution and conscience. The current marketcap is at 13.5 million dollars, which should never be a problem considering that Bitcoin is about to fork with a 3.5 billion marketcap. Yes, some people would suffer as a result of this, but not many. 13.5 million dollars in marketcap is nothing. Start another blockchain, use the same code/vision and simply own the altcoin scene, unless you still want to make a lot of profit from those masternodes and you just cannot stop.
If that happens, i will be the first one to invest all my money into it. Probably many more after me...
Agree with everything you said here except bolded. Am I trip'n or what?? You agree that Evan should quit?? what has this thread come to  I must say Tao I was somewhat alarmed too. Maybe you didn't think through your "agree with everything except..." statement terribly well? That is an opinion for a solution, which would clean the slate. I know it will never happen, but if it did, Evan could start fresh, free of the mistakes of the past. I don't think Evan should quit, I should clarify. EDIT: I've altered my post. |

Most of them are from other crypto projects and have been here for some time (so in some ways we think of them as part of the furniture, ha!) but they're none too successful as the project's continued to go from strength to strength. What you'll find is people here are pretty balanced and comfortable with both the history and current direction of Dash. This project has brought initiatives and developments into the crypto realm that haven't been implemented anywhere else. You'll see the fear and sense of threat they're feeling on regular display here though their "trolling" posts.
