Last night I presented for Dash to about 100 people
So my 2016 has started in a great way, last night I presented in an entrepreneurship event and explained Dash to people. Crypto was not the only topic on the night, so my presentation was part Dash part traditional business, which made it even better as the audience was not a crypto audience, instead it was all people interested in entrepreneurship and technology start-ups which is a great audience for us. After the presentation several people came by to learn more and I will probably do a webinar for some to learn more specifically how to get involved with DASH and get their first coins.
I encourage all Dash supporters to get out there this year and just talk about Dash. We are already a movement that goes beyond online forums and this is how we will continue to grow.

I think it makes perfect sense to have something like x days before a proposal can be voted on. It's out in the open, and there's just enough time for something that doesn't pass the sniff test to come to light. Even a mere 5 days before voting can begin could be sufficient.
People are voting on proposals that they think sound good, but how many people are actually vetting the person who put it out?
I agree completely. Questions and answers will change the way a person votes. I noticed on https://www.dashwhale.org/p/590-soda-machine, 29 NO votes rolled in during the hour between me asking who owns/keeps the soda machine and the answer... If there was time, I would have liked to ask more questions, like why $400 for graphics design? Many could whip out something amazing in an hour for free... I just want time to ask questions and have them answered... make sure everything is kosher before handing out money I see no legitimate reason to not wait a week or more... seems REALLY fishy trying to argue that a vote should be passed within a day of being proposed... You can handle your share of the vote as you see fit. That is your right. As is others to vote in the time that they see fit. |

I am replying to you because this is an important misunderstanding.
There is no reason we should copy a broken congress or bureaucratic government! Even the electoral voting system is archaic, we can just count individual votes now - we are not traveling on horseback.
Yeah, do you know why lobbying and payoffs work? It is because the votes are not actually done by the people, they are done by proxy. Why would you give up voting rights to 500 overpaid politicians and expect them to vote on the things you want? That also only works when you are forced to pay a tax to support those 500 overpaid politicians....
What is the reason to spend hours debating something? That would only be needed if there is a disagreement. Once a certain % of vote threshold is attained, there is no need to debate. If a proposal was on the fence, it may not pass. It may get revisions before it passes. That can all be coordinated by a threshold of votes.
The system works! The masternode owners, who also have the most to gain/lose by voting, vote for the proposal that will help Dash in the future. There is no proxy voting, no forced taxation, no need for debates.
If you had read the entire discussion you should know that I wanted to get some questions answered about the recent soda machine vote that paid out only 3 days after being proposed. 3 days is not long enough to uncover a potential scammer. I have no interest in copying a broken system, nor am I suggesting any such thing. I am trying to help design a better system, one that is not broken, or easily breakable... It's constructive criticism... take it for what it is... I have not suggested anything unreasonable or made any claim that is not 100% accurate... The trolls here are seriously making me consider selling my MN A potential scammer would lead to people doing more due diligence and not voting until they have all of the facts. There is no requirement to vote right away, so if a proposal is more detailed, MN owners can take their time to vote, and the proposal will not pass right away. This particular proposal was made by a well-known member of the community, and was fairly straight forward. That's why it received so many votes in a short period of time and was funded. I doubt that a detailed proposal from an unknown entity would have done so well so quickly. Until that scenario happens, there is no need to complain. If it does happen, then we will need to change it. The fact that projects can receive funding quickly if needed is a strength at this point, IMHO. Good advice to the same five or so Dash usual-suspects/true-believers/bagholders/instminers/first-sight-lovers who are the only ones left who actually still give a shit about the well-known poster child for 2014 instamine scams, not counting the obvious sock puppets they occasionally create in order to give the illusion of someone outside of their circle being interested. No, those are the only ones left who still frequent this cesspool on a regular basis. We have a thriving community on Dashtalk, soon to be moved to Dash.org. It's all a matter of perspective. Whatever you may think of these individuals, and I can't speak for them, our community is growing. The biggest indicator of that is the new partnerships that are being formed after conventions. Investors are doing their homework, and are concluding, as have I, that these issues are not as important as the future of Dash. In fact, it's a net positive as we have a dev who busts his hump to bring value. But, at the end of the day, you will still be haters, so it doesn't matter what I say. We'll let the markets decide. |

I thought people might think it was me who created that account but I can assure you it was not. But my podcast is related to DASH so therefore on topic. I never post my links in here (maybe once or twice in a year), and as you can see I didn't on this occasion*, because I'm not really fond of the crowd here. So when people do it for me I'm happy about it. You can call my podcast whatever you want I've been doing it for over a year now and never really gave two craps about what people think. I do want to say thanks to the dude who posted the summary. In all seriousness, it may be worth it to see what kind of legal implications this would have, we don't want to be getting sued after the fact for something we overlooked. It may be a good idea for starters to remove the images of the trademarked pop cans. DGBB funds would be better spent on other things than legal fees. |

For those late to the party, what they're going to do is give away Dash at the North American Bitcon Conference, a little more than the soda costs, then have people buy a soda via instantX from the vending machine to show how easy it is to pay with Dash, and have it instantly confirmed, no delay, and no risk to the vendor / retail establishment. last one  OK, something has been bothering me. I like the red of the coke cans, but hate the yellow/orange of the Fanta cans. Can you include cans with cooler colors? Not that I want to keep it monotone so much as not so jarring? Red just looks good with blue, and you could add silver diet coke cans too. Maybe Dr. Pepper? It'd keep the theme looking cool and refreshing. The one with the heart and warm browns would be awesome for a coffee or hot cocoa machine OK, that was my 2 cents......... except that my favorite so far was the evolution D and the dash.org at the bottom because that's not as important IMO, they'll find the website easy enough I don't believe we will be able to please everyone on this. This last one has been getting good reviews, overall. |
