Some questions just arised for me :
When some big companies or even states want to use Factom and there are not enough Entry Credits on the market. Will Factom just be able to create new ones ? Whenever a customer wants to purchase Entry Credits to use Factom, Factoids are converted into Entry-Credits - the converted Factoids are out of the system --> burned. So the answer is: There will always be enough Entry Credits because they are "made out of" Factoids. In a best-case-scenario that there would be very very high demand for EC's, the price of FCT would skyrocket to cover the demand. That's in fact what all Factoid-holder would like to see. ;-) Thank you for your answers and time. No problem! Ok and there are more EC's available as soon as price of Factoids rise, because EC's always cost 0.1cent ? So if one Factoid is worth 3$ now it can create 3000EC'S and the total of all Factoid's can create 8753219*3000=26259657000 now ? Right, but the total supply is already less than that, because there is zero inflation yet but already FCT-EC-conversion: 8,747,840.79620207 https://factoid.liveAnd if you imagine that a big partnership would be announced and we all expect high EC-demand, the price of FCT already would rise because of what I often call the "psychological market" (speculation). But even if not: A high demand would have natural (real/objective) impact on the price. That's why Factoids, and that's unlike to other Coins and tokens I know of, really have value - as long as Factom is and will be widely used. And for any record saving or transaction you need an EC or just to start a "contract" like in ethereum for example
To put up to 1kb data into Factom it needs 1 Entry-Credit.

But how are Factoid holders secured to not have some big inflations scenario coming from chaning their code in their own interest ? It's in their own interest to keep the system as secure as possible and to give the federated servers good incentives to run the system. To change Factom in a way that Factoids would become a high-inflation system-currency would be against that, because the price for Factoids would go down for sure. Maybe it's comparable to Bitcoin. Miners would like to get more Bitcoins per Block, but if it would be too much it would damage the price. How does the company make money at all ?
They develop software for companies which want to use Factom. The Gates-Foundation is a good example: Blockchain-based company Factom has announced it will soon secure medical records on its platform. The firm received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to provide immutable and easily accessible records.https://news.bitcoin.com/bill-melinda-gates-awards-grant-factom/My bet is that they make (or will make) the most money in the mortgage-sector. Factoids are like Ether gas , so just fee's right ?
No, Factoids are more a system-currency behind Entry-Credits. It works this way: Let's say you run a company and you want to use Factom. You hire a Developer who writes you a program to do that. Now you need Entry Credits. Since you don't want to mess around with Cryptocurrencies you and I agree that you buy Entry-Credits from me, $0.001 per EC. You order 10k EC's and send me Fiat. I send Factoids to your Entry-Credit-Address and now you are fine. Means: Whenever somebody needs and purchases Entry Credits, Factoids are converted into it and "burned" because of that. The lower the price per 1 FCT and the higher the demand for EC's, the more Factoids would be burned - and the other way around. That also means that the value of Factoids has a real base, unlike to other currencies. In my opinion it's legit to say Factoids are backed. Some even say they are backed by the factomized data but I believe it's more precise to say "backed by use". How does the coin inflation algorythm of Factoids look like?
So let's say a big companies buys Entry Credits, therefore Factoids are burned, how many new ones are created, how are they spread etc.?
Until Milestone 3 (election of federated servers - expected in about 12 months or something like that) there is no Inflation. The total supply is decreasing since launch. When inflation kicks in there will be about 73k new Factoids per months (10% of initial supply per year). But, again: On the other side there will be the conversion/burning-rate of Factoids through demand. The new 73k Factoids are payment for the federated servers.

Does this coin have op in the forum? Tempus you are very active here, you are big whale of lykke or PR at lykke? First question: Yes, you can find the Solarcoin-Ann here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=785257.0Second question: I wish I would be a whale! ;-) I'm a normal Investor but also help Lykke with community-communication and PR.

|
|
|
Klingt interessant, ich hätte direkt mal 1-2 Fragen:
1.) Was ist ein “semi-dezentraler“ Maktplatz ?
Edit: Eine präzisere Erklärung von Mihail Nikulin auf englisch: "Lykke is a semi-centralized exchange. This means that the exchange does not take possession of the traded coins (Ethereum tokens, Ethers, Bitcoins or colored coins), but needs to be trusted to match trades correctly. Lykke has a centralized matching engine and decentralized coins settlement. Matched trades are settled on the blockchain in the atomic way. Each atomic transaction must be signed by both parites and the exchange. Still to be able to trade, one should deposit his coins to Lykke exchange. Depositing coins is not equal to trusting coins. How can it be? Lykke uses multisignatures mechanism to hold client's funds. Lykke exchange can not spend any coins without a client's private key. Even if the exchange is compromised and the Lykke key is stolen, the client will not lose his coins. The second key is required to spend deposited coins. Lykke exchange also provides a refund mechanism to guarantee funds recovery in case of emergency."https://lykke.com/city/blog/2016-09-30/lykke_integrates_ethereum

Ein paar Infos zur Trading-App: KYC - Know your Customer:

Can we trade on PC browsers? Or we can only trade in mobile wallet?
For now it's only possible over the mobile App. But a web trading terminal is in development. Release is likely for end of Q1 2017.

So Lykke's will never be added to other exchanges i.e. Poloniex because Lykee's have their own exchange Lykke already is a working exchange, yes. But it's not totally finished yet. A lot will come over the next months. Will it be possible to buy LKK on other exchanges as well? I believe yes. But I doubt that Lykke will ask other exchanges. And even if it would already be possible, one should download the APP to store it safely. Holders Lykke tokens are able to receive devidents from success of platform? I am not holder and want to know whether there is sense to buy? Yes, once Lykke is profitable and the choice should be made not to reinvest all profit but to pay dividends. It would be unrealistic to expect that soon, but paying dividends in future is the plan.

Just downloaded the app today! Really nice user experience At the weekend I will start trading a bit Yes, it's really a great App. Funny is: Usually I don't like it to use App's. And first, when I found Lykke, I even was kind of disappointed that it only was possible to buy LKK through the App. But once I tried it I recognized how good they are in building intuitive stuff. For people with some sense for details it really tells a lot about this project.

what do you think? will there be topics like "we missed the lykke-train".... i hope so.
I believe the chance for such a scenario is good. There is especially one thing I really find impressing and what I, as an Investor in this space, always try to find: Teams that are able to deliver certainty and reliability. What I mean with that is: In a deeper sense it's always about "feeling safe". That's true for potential Investors, it's true for users. If we focus on the user-experience and in a technical way it's especially about two aspects: 1) Easy-to-use 2) Security And out of Investor-perspective it's very important to trust a team. It needs trust that a team really focuses on a project and not just on making money. It needs trust that a team has the technical skills, but also the experience and expertise to get a business running and all the stuff most people don't even think about. And Lykke has it all. I believe: They only have to keep on with what they do and how they do it and success will come. One risk might be competition, but I don't know of any similar project with such a team. And others Even if others would copy all the Code, what would be possible because it's all open source - I wouldn't know how another team should be able to come close to Lykke.

Volume is incredible, especially for young exchange. I hope it will affect on Lykke token holders. Yes, I was really surprised to see it that high. Today it's not that high, but the real show will start once Lykke is fully regulated, ready to welcome the forex-guys and to do ICO's etc. 2017 will be an exciting year and absolutely not boring - promise! ;-)
|
|
|
ICO price was 0.05 CHF right? Actually I wonder how does the fiat exchange work, if lykke represents token/share of the platform, you have big volume/much trading fee earned, lykke should be pumped to heaven. Yes, price was 0.05 CHF. But Lykke's business-model is not trading fee - they follow a zero-fee-policy. Lykke acts as marketmaker and will also be a platform to do ICO's and so on. Regarding the LKK-price: I believe it's kind of a paradox situation, because the increasing Bitcoin-price leads to increasing attention on the whole space. That's helpful. At the same time Lykke needs to meet some important Milestones and will do that without doubt, but it's early. The real show will start once Lykke is fully regulated in the USA, and once some releases are pushed out Lykke-Coders are currently working on, like... * Margin trading * Regulated retail FX * Offchain settlement scalable to 100’000+ transactions per second * Ethereum support: multisig wallets, interblockchain atomic swaps * Payment system provider ...and there will be more. All together will make Lykke much more attractive, also for the usual Forex-sector and that will boost the volume and will have impact on the LKK-price. People "only" need to understand that it's not an Altcoin but the representation of company-shares. Over the last months LKK was suppressed like nearly all Altcoins because of the rising Bitcoin-price. I expect that will change over this year. LKK could start to fly once Lykke gets more attention what will happen without doubt.
