I don't see the big deal in this other than having the Winkelvi name attached. Don't get me wrong I'm glad they're getting involved and are promoting bitcoin but I'm more concerned about decentralized exchanges. I'm sure this is just a ploy for them to scoop up massive amounts of bitcoins easily through taking their cut of fees.
Dude this is literally the only way to have all these clueless old wealthy guys getting involved with Bitcoin. They wouldn't invest any other way unless there is a regulated certified serious exchange.

Soemthing is fishy. If you lose your BTC no one is going to give them back out of charity. Like the poster above prolly PR or some shit.

Unfortunately you still need to use regular banking in most cases (western union) coz meeting people in real life is hard.

If the pro-vaccinators wish the anti-vaxxors to take the vaccines to keep the herd safe from disease (herd theory) Do Bitcoiners have the same argument - everybody should use Bitcoin to keep (the herds money) safe.
What I mean is, do Bitcoiners have the right to abuse non-Bitcoiners because of their choice of money?
(of course I would never do it)
Nice try I think you may have got the (admittedly a stretch in any direction) analogy reversed. Vaccines and fiat: pushed by private corporations to make a profit off the backs of the less educated. Well, the diference with fiat is, some vaccines are actually legit and crucial to be taken as soon as possible. Lives are saved thanks to vaccines.. not all are legit tho.

Lol what a scam. Nuclear technology is deprecated and Geothermal is the future.

I do it all the time.
Rule no.1: All coin are shitcoins Rule no.2: When you're crying someone is winning Rule no 3: Every coin go through pump & dump. Rule no.3: Those who stand by Rule no.1,2 & 3 succeeds in crypto.
But some coins end up dying before there is a pump. ALso, if you buy too much and there is not enough volume you may not be able to sell them.

We need Seth Macfarlane to do some Kim impersonations in a new film to make him even more mad.

I applaud China for keeping the Western threats out of their country.
....and what threats are that? Allowing their citizens to the mass information out on the internet? I think he's being sarcastic, but don't believe me on this one, he may be an actual brickhead.

Well, thats like what 99% of celebs said (unless they were extremely obvious like Jennifer Lawrence's pics).

Not many predicted that we would reach $1242 per bitcoin in 2013, when it started the year at $13.50, unable to surpass the previous peak for 18 months.
The peak was surpassed, and 30 months after (the peak of 2011), Bitcoin was trading 40x higher.
I think this makes it more, not less, probable that the same can happen again and $50k reached if not this, the next year.
BTW. I was one of the (quite few) people to recognize that BTC's NPV was $2000 when it was trading at about $50 in March-13. This realization helped me a lot in the assurance of going speculatively all-in that year, and realizing a 600% gain in 7 months.
It is true that the prediction of $300k per bitcoin before the end of 2013 did not materialize, yet everyone who played along, did fantastically good by buying at $50. They either sold partly with me for 1000%+ gain, or are still holding for a 500% unrealized gain.
Every troll who does not have money to pay his own expenses would do well to heed this.
But we can't expect similar gains with any other coin, at least not like XMR. We'll see gains for sure, but Bitcoin is "the one and only", the father or coins... cant really compare and expect past performance on bitcoin be comparable with other coins.

Centralized Bitcoin exchanges need to divorce themselves from the libertarian paradigm. Solve this: 1) We dont have centralized, "serious" exchanges like the Gemini or Coinbase one, which leads to old big money not comming in. 2) We have centralized exchanges which means we get to deal with wall street bastards and risk the price being rigged, also risk on the exchanges being a failure again killing bitcoin due lack of trust. How to solve this?? afaik, decentralized exchanges dont allow for proper trading.

The fastest way is Stockmarket, you can earn good profit without big risk Bitcoin is too dangerous, especially with price stability
If it was that easy , everyone in the world is a millionaire right , don't you think . I totally disagree here dude , Bitcoin is a lot less dangerous then stocks because we know that Bitcoin will rise sooner or later (while Block reward decreasing over the years ) but for stocks market ... meh , you should read books etc about economics it's really not that easy. Well you also can count on stocks like CocaCola, Apple or Microsoft to continue gaining strenght over years.

Almost everyone on this forum is in the top 5%. It's easy to look up and say, "It's not fair". Nobody looks down and says the same. The world can't support 7 billion people with a TV and air-conditioning. Before you expect the top 1% (only about 1.5 million dollars by the way) to give some up, how about you give your wealth to somebody in Africa?
When you are surrounded by people that lives like you you become accustomed and you want more. I feel bored and poor compared to Cristiano Ronaldo for example.

The question of whether or not to create a new coin isn't if you can make money from it, but if I can make money from making it.
Yeah, everyone thinks Bitcoin was the first, and everyone thinks Litecoin was the first alt (when it is a rip off from Tenebrix).
