OP, please communicate with us if the person did in fact give you the wrong address.  If they did then it is THEIR fault and you have most likely been scammed.  It may not get your money back but you can contact one of the mods to check the PMs and if necessary they can take measures to make sure others are less likely to be scammed by the same person.
622  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU Looks to Ban Toasters, Kettles and Hair Dryers to Stem Global Warming on: September 03, 2014, 09:55:34 PM
This is such a crappy situation, we have to be the ones paying high for energy and giving the example to "go green", while places like USA and China pollute as much as they want so they can have cheap energy...

And yet you're happy to freely use the services and products created in those 2 energy wasting countries  Roll Eyes

If you're a consumer you're consuming regardless of where it's coming from.  Unless you're living in a rainforest canopy you're probably not carbon negative.
623  Other / Politics & Society / Re: American Health care: $10,169 for a blood test? on: September 03, 2014, 09:45:05 PM
American healthcare is a joke. Healthcare should be fundamental human right and free for everyone. Nobody should be paying for healthcare in a civilizied society.

Free? How?. Do you want doctors to work for free, as slaves? Or with "free" do you mean charging others for it, no matter if they agree or not?

I believe a socialistic system is the right way for such services as healthcare/emergency services and water etc. People definitely shouldnt be paying 10k for a bloodtest. How can anyone actually be expected to pay that much?

People do not pay $10k for the test.  Insurance companies are billed $10k for the test.  The policy holder gets stuck holding the bag if the insurance doesn't pay.

personally I would love to see insurance companies destroyed.  I love capitalism.  I hate crony capitalism where people can bribe officials to make sure their business suceeds while others fail.

If you walked into Quest or Labcorp and offered $25 cash they would draw the lipid panel.  Or you can just buy the mail in kits.

If America went full socialized the cheating companies will sleep with the politicians legally and have monopolistic ownership over healthcare industries - only a tad bit worse than what we have now.
624  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining Review on: September 03, 2014, 09:33:19 PM
FinalHash, come post your company's info in my thread.  While I personally do not feel that cloud mining is useful to me and it may potentially harm the network through centralization, I do see a place for it in getting people new to crypto involved with the mining process if nothing other than a learning tool.

My thread was meant to warn new users of the risks of potential ponzis and scams by people pretending to run cloud mining companies (right as lunamine ran off with 2000BTC).  If you have a legitimate company post the details here along with link to your website and proof of incorporation or at least of having mining equipment.

625  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Customer review of Megamine on: September 03, 2014, 09:27:25 PM
Justin you are the only CEO or cloud mining representative that will come into these subforums and actually respond to other people's posts.  I commend you for that.

Not once have I see GAWMiner, PBMining, Genesis-Mining or many of the others leave the safety of their announcement threads to post in the forums.  Kudos.
626  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: ANTMINER S3 reboots unexpectedly on: September 03, 2014, 09:05:17 PM
DEUS M1-550 was also not working with 2x ANTMINER S1 UV . It was the same problem as for ANTMINER S3 previously. After a few hours the GH/s dropped rapidly for both antminer s1.
LC POWER 600W (LC600H-12) works stable with ANTMINER S3 for 40 hours.

the deus m1-550

is this your psu?
and is this your other psu?
http://www.lc-power.de/index.php?id=488&L=1
They are not very good ones.  Where do you live Eur or USA or ?? The deus is better quality then the lc is  which is why you get better power numbers with it.

Yes, I own them both. I am in Europe.
What do you think about CS650M 650W 80+GOLD to power antminer s3? Would that be ok?

It's probably overkill for just 1 S3.  Should you decide to get 2 S3s I would bump up the 650 to a Corsair 850 Gold or an EVGA 1000 Gold.  Otherwise even a 500W Bronze Corsair is fine.
627  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Using my Cointerra 1.6 TH/s as a Food Dehydrator on: September 03, 2014, 08:54:02 PM
Hahahahaha can you imagine the smell coming off that cointerra in a few months?  Phoooo-weeee!

As they say, "Winter is coming", it's just around the corner then you can use it to heat your house... unless you're in southern California, then it's just another warm day. :|

Oh you're down here too huh?  Don't you love the fact that this is the hottest year in recorded history in SoCal.  I mean we had 97F last winter, WTF!  Other people's mining room's ambient temps are less than our weather temps  Shocked
628  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining, profitable or not? on: September 03, 2014, 08:42:38 PM
The decision to use cloudmining services depends on your needs.

There are some people who want to get involved personally (hands-on). Cloud-mining is not for them.

There are numerous other people (many of them almost without any basic knowledge or experience in altcoins) who would be willing to learn but think that this is a difficult task for them (e.g. setting the miners themselves etc.) and/or people lacking the space to have their own miner.

As far as profitability is concerned it all comes to lucky guesses as it always is the case in the crypto world. Can you find a good coin to mine before it becomes a main-stream hit, then you will have profits. Did you put all your money to mine a scam coin you will lose.

Nothing in cryptoworld is straight forward!

Just my 5 cents!

These kind of people should not be involved with mining.  If you don't have the time or the energy to get involved with physical mining then you don't need to contribute to the demise of a currency by helping to centralize it.  If you promote cloud mining are you promoting centralization, particularly if you are supporting large mining entities like cex.io.  That would be like people wanting to get involved in helping put out a fire by standing with a garden hose while blocking the path of a firefighter with a 3" line.

There are many ways to get involved with crypto and make money.  Mining is but one aspect.  People are looking for easy money and they think they can throw some cash at a website and have more cash come back.
629  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer s3, ur thoughts and opinions about it on: September 03, 2014, 08:30:02 PM
Just under 0.06/CAD/kw/h is a really good price I would agree but insofar as actually turning any kind of profit with an S3 at current prices I would say your chances are slim to none.  I would second the earlier fella's suggestion of looking into purchasing used hardware as well if your hooked on the mining thing.  If profit is your motive then simple buy and hold would more likely suit you better.

S3s are still somewhat profitable when used in groups. Not so much single units. You can get 4 of them now for what it costs to get for a little more a 1Ths unit from a competitor. And with 4 you get roughly 1.8Ths. All things considered thats not too shabby.

Single unit is still profitable, just find a really cheap power supply..

Even without factoring in the PSU an S3 will not ROI for the majority of people.  If difficulty didn't increase then it might, but people were getting used to 4% increases and the last 2 have been over 15%.  You can't compete with large companies who make the miners themselves.
630  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New 14nm miners??????? on: September 03, 2014, 08:28:19 PM
If TSMC is booked up well then 28nm it is.
The hash rate is rising so fast that by the time 14nm ASIC fab capability becomes available, fabbing the parts will be uneconomic. We're headed for 1 exahash around the beginning of 2015, about 4x the current hash rate.

By Q1 2015, all miners will be losing money. Then what?

Difficulty will go to the moon!

Well at some point somebody will shut off their miners.  First to go will be most European and Australian miners since they have high energy rates.  If that doesn't bring the difficulty down then the people who thought they had cheap power with $0.08/KWH will get kicked out.

The same thing happened with GPUs - that's when FPGA started becoming popular.  ASICs killed FPGA development.

Sooner or later we'll reach equilibrium.  At that point people with "free" or insanely cheap power can mine against large companies.

Just be aware that high temp electronics do emit dangerous chemicals (VOCs)

632  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is anyone paying more in maintenance than making profit in Cex.io? on: September 03, 2014, 09:52:11 AM
It's just a matter of time before fees completely erase mining income for those who own cloud hashing.

Not that I disagree with you, but lets be fair to Cloudhashers (is that even a term, if not I HEREBY CLAIM IT  Smiley). This has nothing to do with cloud hash, it has to do with difficulty going up and the price of BTC not increasing. I know you agree with me based on your comment on another thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=737629.20

"The home user obviously can't mine if difficulty goes up but the fiat price doesn't - they can't get BTC ROI currently and then they may not even get fiat ROI."

My personal opinion is cloudhashing offers the least risk to any "investor" but this is all dependent on scale and assuming legitimate cloud vendor.

As part of my experiment, I have some GHS at Cex.io and in my experience fees being higher than share reward is an exception, not the rule.

CK

Risk and Reward.

Risk is pretty much money spent on the outlay for the investment when buying cloud hashing.  For physical mining it would also include people's time.

Reward should be the same for both assuming both have the same hashrate and we make the assumption that the pools should have negligible effect on the end total of income.

So the only difference in Risk/Reward is the higher or lower Risk.

Physical mining always carries a lower risk since even with miners placed in a colocation center the total outlay would be less than that of any cloud hashing.

Physical hardware has risk of hardware failure and cloud hashing has risk of getting scammed.

Buyer decides which is greater Risk.
633  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democrats Hope to Mobilize Blacks for Midterm Elections on: September 03, 2014, 08:02:58 AM
What I find ironic is that black people tend to vote for democrats, but the cities that are run by democrats (Chicago for example) are run horribly with much higher then average crime rates, unemployment rates, tax rates, and lower job opportunities, and property values.

You don't think that perhaps you have confused cause and effect?
Maybe cities with more social problems vote democrat, and nice safe areas vote republican?

There are few exceptions, but the cities that could be described as armpits in America have more or less gone full Democrat for the last 30 years.  In those 30 years most of those cities have gone down down down, like Los Angeles (one mayor Riordan was R, rest D).  Bradley was decent, but the last 3 Ds have been an absolute nightmare.  Chicago and Detroit are prefect examples - they haven't fixed any underlaying problems.
634  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Electric utilities are blowing cost of energy theft out of proportion on: September 03, 2014, 07:58:24 AM
While I do think electric companies are an unregulated malfeasance that involves cronyism with state officials I don't think your bus analogy is a good one.  In you analogy the freeloader would be hitching up his RV to the back end of the bus for a cross country tow.
Electric and utility companies are actually among the most regulated companies in the US. As a result their margins are very thin and have very little room for error when it comes to running their business. Any losses (caused by theft or otherwise) would very much affect their ability to continue staying in business.

They may be regulated but regulation does not equal enforcement.  The securities industry in incredibly regulated and yet this kind of happy horseshit happens:
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/WallStreet/story?id=6471863

Look up DWP in Los Angeles - they are embezzling millions of dollars.  It has gone missing and the county and city officials won't investigate it because they all have campaign contributions.

Their margins are thin my but.  They have some of the highest paid administration in the country and pensions not seen in any industries.

SCE/PGE is more or less in bed with CPUC in California.
635  Other / Politics & Society / Re: American Health care: $10,169 for a blood test? on: September 03, 2014, 07:48:56 AM
This is how the greedy insurance companies are squeezing the hard working American citizen. Forget about the blood test, every single type of medical treatment in the US costs as much as 500 to 1,000% more than what it costs in the EU. A surgery which costs $100,000 in the US can be performed for just $15,000 in Belgium, or $10,000 in Russia. Only one solution for this. Nationalize the healthcare sector.
You also have to wait a lot longer to get the same procedures, sometimes resulting in a surgery being unnecessary because the patient has either died or the problem has become so severe that surgery would not be effective.

I don't think you understand that if you make these things cost less unilaterally then the people who perform these services will ultimately get paid less which would mean less people would enter the field and those that do enter the medical field will be less qualified.

Don't go to board UNcertified doctors.

5 years ago I would have agreed with you.

I am boarded and am re-certifying my boards this year.  It's basically extortion by the medical establishment and doesn't really focus on ensuring physicians meet any standards of care since lot of the stuff in the boards is stuff that is not pertinent to real world application.

I would recommend having a malpractice attorney do a little digging for $50 or $100 and they can find out quickly what suits any physicians has been involved in.  State Medical Boards are pretty much useless.  Hire a private attorney if you want to know a physician's history.

The only reason I am retaking my boards is because I need to be boarded to keep my license in CA.  Otherwise the boards are just a scam.  A physician who keeps up with modern CMEs and attends meetings at the local hospital will be more up to date that one who just passes test after test without any meaningful understanding of population and demographic changes.
636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do with one full bitcoin? on: September 03, 2014, 07:35:01 AM
Bitcoin is a currency and an economy.  If you want to invest in it you need to advertise BTC to merchants.  Newegg and Dell took it, advertise it to your local shops.  The more it gets accepted, the more stable it will become and the more likely the value will rise due to its utility.
637  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ban the person above you (jokingly). on: September 03, 2014, 07:32:11 AM
Banned for eating mutton last Tuesday.  Mutton should only be eaten on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.  Come on everybody knows this!

Titanic OST for sure

Yes.   For an orchestral track that has a little harmony in it does sound very sad.  Every since that movie I can always recognize Horner's work since he uses a lot of the same styles in other movies.  Never An Absolution is right up there (for being down there).
640  Other / Off-topic / Re: what most beautiful woman in the world ? on: September 03, 2014, 07:08:05 AM
Jessica Alba is fine.

For most beautiful hmmm I would pick Jessica Biel

Eh I met Alba last year when she wasn't wearing making.  She was more Dark than Angel - the years have not been kind to her.  Plus she's a raving lunatic when she opens her mouth - she was talking for 5 minutes about her dog's penis in front of kids.
