So I had to manually add darkcoin-mod.cl to the directory where my sgminer script is located. Now I'm getting, "Error: clSetKernelArg of all params failed."

You fucking dumb retard.
Man, even if you're right about all this shit, you don't have the right to badmouth anyone or being a complete jerk to others. Congratulations, you're my first effective member of my ignore list. I saw this member calling a scam, a scam before it was found out, so maybe not nice, but ... just saying What scam was that?

what s the connection to storj?
Strorj is currently running on top of Datacoin, but the dev (super3) has indicated that he will introduce a Storjcoin in the future. He might as well just take over development of this coin.

This one just calls everyone a "fucking retard".

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I can't connect to the US groestl p2pool or poolerino's groestl P2pool.

Question, if the announcement was Myriad was going to merge mine with some major coins like say, Doge, would it instantly raise its market cap to include the value of those coins?
No. It just makes the merged mineable coin easier to mine. It still has to succeed on its own merits.

Not if I was on that jury. "undue" is subjective. How were you going to buy bitcoins if they weren't for sale? If I'm a firefighter (and I am), I can't get credit for putting out a fire when I put oily rags next to a heater. Placing the ad is encouraging and enabling the "crime". If I as a private citizen did it, could be prosecuted for soliciting, then when a policemen does the same thing, he is entrapping. Fucking cops need to understand their job is crime prevention primarily and secondarily to assist in the solving and prosecution of crimes. Turning people into criminals so they can have someone to arrest is itself a criminal act.
So let's say I go onto a website to buy cocaine. I see an ad for cocaine, and contact the seller to buy it. How was I in any way pressured or entrapped to buy cocaine? I clearly was seeking out a way to buy cocaine, and almost certainly would have broken the law regardless of whether that person was an undercover cop. Now replace "cocaine" with "bitcoins" and it is the exact same situation. You absolutely did not go to localbitcoins with the express intent to not buy bitcoins, just like you didn't go onto that drug website to not buy cocaine. There are some gray areas regarding entrapment. This is absolutely not one of them. Even if the ad was sent to me directly regarding the sale, as long as they didn't keep hounding me after I said no, it would not be entrapment. I think this goes back to what Billy said earlier: it's not a cops job to be going around putting up ads for cocaine. It's their job to prevent crime, not incite/entice crime. That is a valid opinion, but not the way the law currently sees it. Indeed.

Damn, he took up such a good name. If someone can continue to develop the purse, let him go cry!
I agree. The coin works, it just needs some finessing and some updates and a community back up. I noticed in tweets the new dev team who took over whitecoin was contacted. But any good team would be fantastic especially for a coin only in the millions. I agree with all of that. And the premine out of the way, and a dev that people trust, the community would be a lot more likely to participate. Not to mention the investors who wouldn't be afraid to invest.

Why would anyone mine this over myriad?
|
|
|
It seems like a lot of people on the coin had lost confidence?
It's just a few short-sighted speculators who are angry that the price is still low. This is a big community, and I think most of us are quietly mining/buying because we know where this coin is heading.

Hey,
Sha-256d algo - is this like normal sha-256 of bitcoin, or something different? I cant find any info on it.
Yeah, same as bitcoin.

What's happening in MYR? No more Brazil?
the silence before the storm(s). no problems, all projects going forward. still bullshit Great first post. You really went through the trouble of signing up just to say this?

does anyone know if there are any profitability calculators for mining myriad? I really like the coin and would like to support it, but I am not sure I could justify it if it is not profitable to mine. Thanks!
You can look here http://myriad.theblockexplorer.com/, then check the current exchange rate at Poloniex or Mintpal and calculate it pretty easily.

That's not true at all. Many felonies have been committed. If adequate logs were collected, many crimes could be prosecuted, and the criminal actors would meet justice. The only reason this hasn't already happened is because the governments hate the people. Why would they defend property rights of mere citizens? Citizens are for rape and plunder.
Ridiculous. The only reason why most bitcoin crimes go unpunished and victims get no reparation is that bitcoin was appropriated by rabid "libertarians" who hate governments, law, regulations, and police. The logical consequence of assuming that those things are evil is that "there are no criminals nor victims, only smart people and stupid people". The invariable response of the "bitcoin community" to each new bitcoin scam or heist is "stupid victims, they should have blah blah blah." Most countries apply laws equally to libertarians and non-libertarians. The rule of law doesn't end with people who disagree with it. Also, one could certainly make an argument that bitcoin was created by libertarians.

Reading some of these posts, it looks like people are starting to get angry. All these hodlers were patting each other on the back and loving the Chinese when they were pumping their yuan into btc. Now it's suddenly F$#@ China! These people don't want the world to adopt btc because it's superior to the current fiat system, they want mass adoption simply so they can become rich. This blind greed is indeed negative news and bad for btc. If this is the attitude prospective btc buyers are going to see from many of the holders, don't expect many people adopting bitcoin.
Please suggest a system by which miners do not turn a profit without compromising the security of the network. Proof of Stake

... also using getmininginfo would require running a wallet on my mining rig (or using RPC to connect to one) which further complicates things. That said, it would probably be an improvement to use getmininginfo, so if someone wants to send me the maths to get from the difficulties of the various algos to "Coins/Scrypt MH" then I'll update my script and post a new version using that.
it should be in a config file because 290/290x mines differently than 280x (faster skein, slower groestl for the same scrypt mhash/s) I made a php script that does the same thing for windows: https://bitbucket.org/iopq/automatic-algo-switcher-for-myriadcoin/I scape the difficulties from the JSON api and my config file has the settings for an R9 290 if you want to do it from the wallet and run the wallet I suggest you use the same approach, I have scrypt disabled because it takes too much power what you might want to also do is scrape the price info, let the user specify the power usage of each algo (and $/watt), and calculate the most profitable algo based on current price and selling immediately after mining Hmmm I was wondering about that. The "Coins/Scrypt MH" number seems to give me a good enough approximation of profitability for my R9 280x for my purposes, but I see that to do it properly those numbers would need to be weighted for different GPUs. I guess the numbers are just discovered experimentally? I don't have the time (or the equipment) to work out the weightings for coin production on different algos and different hardware unfortunately. Your idea for letting the user specify the power and doing a proper cost analysis before choosing the algo is great... but again I'm not sure I have the time right now to implement that I think I will take up foodie's offer of a nice simplified "Coins/Scrypt MH" webpage to get the numbers from and leave it at that for now. I'll also implement a decent algo choosing mechanism - maybe based on the setting of the commands at the top of the script (ie: no command for a given algo means leave that algo out of the running). At some point I'll put it on github and open it up if people are interested in contributing? Also - a question for the devs and other coin-tech people: Is the constant switching of miners between algos in this way considered harmful to the coin? Obviously if *all* miners were switching en-mass on the hour, it would cause some pretty wild and weird swings in difficulty and hash rates for the algos... I know auto-switching pools are frowned upon for this reason by some people. When you have big enough hordes of miners chasing profit from coin to coin it can severely impact hashrates and leave coins vulnerable to attack at certain times. I suppose chasing profit *within the one coin* as we are doing here is not as bad... but then its open for analysis / discussion. Maybe would be helpful if we could get some kind of database or a list similar to: https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison A large sample size of various hardware configurations could yield more accurate average hashrates.

Datacoin is being used in Storj development and testing ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=555159.0 ) for now. There can be more plans on DTC - Storj cooperation, when these plans are approved\released, I'll push this info to all DTC threads. It sounds more like Storj is trying to create a Datacoin competitor/replacement.

$1 price means a 500x increase, so no.
Once this coin catches on, and the price of bitcoin recovers, I'd say $1 coins are fairly likely.
