161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin was not what we were promised - there I said it! on: November 23, 2018, 10:04:33 AM
Promise? What promise? A decentralized system doesn't have an authority to promise you something.

A decentralized system that was still made by someone and currently still being updated by other people, so yeah, there were ''promises'' in a way.

made? No. It was proposed. Anyone could volunteer to 'make it' and many are still 'making it'.

someone? How do you know it is 'someone' and not 'some group of people'.

updated by other people. Yes. So? You can be one of those 'other people'. And if the existing 'other people' does not accept your recommendation, you can always create your own implementation and see if there is enough people supporting it.

so yeah, there were ''promises'' in a way. So, NO. There were no ''promises'' in any way.

Yeah just like anyone can volunteer to be the president of the United States. You can be one of them if you know what you are doing just like politicians, 99.99% of the crypto community do not have enough knowledge to be one of them.

What about the whitepaper, when is that coming?

Well, also bitcoin and other crypto ''currencies'' are not even close of being currencies. Who uses bitcoin for daily transactions? Or any other crypto for that matter? Absolutely no one so of course every time there is a small dump/crash, everyone rushes to sell because no one is interested in holding bitcoin, almost everyone bought for speculative reasons.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop calling Bitcoin ''stable'' it's not. on: November 19, 2018, 05:39:38 PM
yes, the proof is that bitcoin is falling again now. it proves that bitcoin is unstable, and the perception of some people when bitcoin lasts for $ 6000 is wrong. therefore, the value of bitcoin is also likely to rise again.

Yeah, haha, seems that this post has aged well. I personally was not expecting this big of a crash but as I said you never know. Now people are going to say the usual, ''buy the dip'', accumulation period, etc etc.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you ever regret having gotten into Bitcoin? on: November 15, 2018, 08:19:28 PM
Set stop losses and you will never regret anything. Of course that's easier said than done, a lot of people can't control themselves, this ''buy the dip'' mentality has done a lot of bad things to a lot of people. Something going down 80% isn't necessarily a bargain.
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop calling Bitcoin ''stable'' it's not. on: November 15, 2018, 08:18:00 PM
Today proved my ass wrong about it being more stable. Today felt like one of the old days with a wild swing.

It honestly feels that when people less expect it, something happens, up or down. I don't really think many people anticipated this crash at all. Bitfinex Shorts were really low, every day going lower, so obviously the bears weren't confident at all. Then again this happened mostly because of the hashrate battle, didn't it?
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop calling Bitcoin ''stable'' it's not. on: November 14, 2018, 11:46:35 PM
Low volatility doesn't mean stable. Bitcoin has experienced periods of low volatility many times, however this doesn't mean bitcoin is stable, not even close. We all know it doesn't take much for bitcoin to explode, either up or down. That's absolutely still in the cards, I mean everyone is waiting for the next bull run and some people are waiting for a big crash.

It's like saying, this bomb is stable because it hasn't exploded yet.

I strongly agree with you Mate! you were right the bomb exploded today I hope that it does not keep exploding I already lost  8.000 $. I am trying to not fall down and cry like a little kid but is hard Sad. Do you have Any suggestion for us, please? or someone? I am willing to be open-minded and listen to everyone. Anything to calm the nerves like theories, explanations, vodka, cookies, rum, jokes…

Haha, sorry for your loss man, I always use stop losses so it doesn't affect me as much. I'm sure if you go to reddit or even here you will find the usual, ''buy the dip'' or something along those lines but I wouldn't be so quick to do it. At this point things like dead cat bounces can easily happen and trap even more people, If you haven't sold yet, you could just place a stop loss right at the bottom of today, if you did sell, I would wait for the dust to settle a little bit before trying to buy. I'm personally waiting for tomorrow to see what kind of continuation we have.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop calling Bitcoin ''stable'' it's not. on: November 14, 2018, 11:17:58 PM
Well  Grin Grin Seems like I was right after all and the ''big move'' happened today, although unfortunately it was a bear move. This is exactly what I was talking about, people get too comfortable, everyone thinks bitcoin is stable and then boom, that's when shit happens, bull or bear runs.
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dominance and Bitcoin Meme on: November 13, 2018, 10:11:10 PM
As long as btc holds most of the fiat pairs, bitcoin will be the king. It's going to take a looong time for the other alt coins to get their fiat pairs. Sure Ethereum and the top 5-10 usually have but other than that, not too many. As long as people have to buy bitcoin to exchange it for other coins/tokens, bitcoin will still be dominant, that's really why Bitcoin moves the market. Of course when a new user/investor wants to buy a coin, he/she will probably buy bitcoin first and not ETH or LTC, etc.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the fear of crypto-currencies legit? on: November 13, 2018, 09:29:47 PM
People are increasingly getting scared to invest in Bitcoin and other virtual currencies out of fear of getting scammed. Should they be?

Are they? How did you come up with this conclusion? I don't think there has been any period of time where the average guy wasn't scared to invest in crypto. Even during the bull run, a lot of people were scared of the possible crash. Investments are always scary, that's why they are called investments, there is no guarantee, ever.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when bitcoin becomes stable? on: November 13, 2018, 09:24:05 PM
Many businessmen and investors will invest in bitcoin. Our government will reduce their profit coming from banking services.many of us will benefit the stability of bitcoin. Many businesses will use bitcoin as a prime medium for any transactions like money transfers and they can also use it for accommodating flights, hotel reservations and many more that we can benefit and make it more convenient for us to transact.

They wont invest, why would they? If bitcoin is stable no one will invest. You invest when you are expecting the price to go up, otherwise, why invest? If everyone expects the price to be the same, they wont invest.

Stop calling the global markets "stable" they are not.

Low volatility doesn't mean stable. The global markets have experienced periods of low volatility many times, however this doesn't mean the global markets are stable, not even close. We all know it doesn't take much for the global markets to explode, either up or down. It's like saying, this bomb is stable because it hasn't exploded yet.

Wink

The Bitcoin market just happens to be faster, with shorter boom-bust cycles than most other markets. Still a good observation OP and an important one to keep in mind, lest one deems one too safe for their own good.

I get what you are saying, nothing is really ''stable'' but yeah, people might be getting a little to comfortable. This is exactly the best time for bitcoin to experience a big move (could be to the upside or the downside) when everyone is looking somewhere else. I truly believe bitcoin will be able to recover somewhat, maybe hit 10k again, we have seen pretty good news this whole year really.

175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fake dump on: November 13, 2018, 12:42:27 AM
So we basically just had a fake dump, also called fakeout for bitcoin. The bulls definitely bought the dip this time even though it wasn't too big, currently trading at 6400$ perhaps we are able to climb back to 6600$

How many days have passed since your post? humm... if they spent more than 7 days and see the price:

Bitcoin: $6 385,96 USD

it seems that the price is stagnant and does not increase, for this year I doubt that we see more than  $7500, is more likely to fall price instead of increasing price, this was a very bad year for crypto and the losses are still very high . I started to see negative comments coming from the experts who made so much optimistic predictions

''is more likely to fall price instead of increasing price'' Is it? How did you come to that conclusion? ''Experts'' are doing the same as usual, some of the predicting bitcoin to go down and some saying bitcoin will reach 50k.

The overall sentiment isn't that bad. Low volatility isn't necessarily a bad thing, a lot of people were looking for it, weren't they? Check the shorts on Bitfinex, they are declining everyday which means bears aren't very confident anymore.
176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fake dump on: November 09, 2018, 06:56:30 PM
people need to start getting a better understanding of "size"! and it depends on the context. when you say $100 that can be huge rise or fall when price is like $200 but when price is $6500 that $100 rise or fall is considered a small one and since this is bitcoin and the price rise and falls are always bigger than normal changes in other markets, that $100 (which is 1%) is considered extremely tiny and is not even worth talking about!
not to mention that this price that OP got excited about a couple of weeks ago is not even to a major resistance line. not even close!

You should start paying attention to volatility then, sure 100$ is not a lot, however when bitcoin is barely moving 50$ up or down for weeks, a 100$ move in 1 hour or so is significant.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when bitcoin becomes stable? on: November 09, 2018, 06:52:06 PM
It's not even close to being stable, it's stable compared to before but for a supposed ''currency'' it's far from stable. The EUR or USD is stable, bitcoin is not, not even now. This wont last much longer either, we will see a break eventually either up or down.
178  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Top Social Media Accounts to follow for Cryptocurrency Trading on: November 09, 2018, 06:47:51 PM
They are all garbage, mainstream ''traders'' Check TheChartGuys on youtube. Dan really knows what he is talking about and although he doesn't sell or give ''trading signals'' his analysis of the market is spot on.

I agree that the ChartGuys does have a good channel on Youtube. I also follow DataDash on Youtube.

Does anyone else on this forum follow any good Youtube channels crypto trading? Either fundamental analysis, technical analysis or news updates.

HAPPY TRADING Smiley

I don't, I would rather just follow 1 than many. They aren't going to give away free signals anyways, at least Dan from TheChartGuys has some accurate overall technical analysis.
179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's the most reliable? on: November 09, 2018, 06:45:19 PM
Friends tell me, please. Binance, Bittrex, Exmo, Kraken: what is the best, in terms of convenience and the most important reliability?
Which one do you prefer?

I prefer using Bittrex to the rest. Bittrex is a US-based company and has a committed security capability for their platform. It is on record that Bittrex is yet to be attacked by hackers and the support team of Bittrex is ready at all time to resolve whatever issues you may have. Second to Bittrex is Binance which is based in China, the platform is robust and was able to overcome the last hacking attack.

Who cares about hackers when the owners of the exchange themselves are borderline scammers? Do you actually think locking accounts for 4-5 months is normal behavior? They didn't even alert anyone that passing KYC will be a must to withdraw anything, they had literally hundreds of thousands of support tickets open because of it, it's quite amazing that they got away with it and people still use that terrible exchange.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ❤❤ EOSPlay.com | EOS Gaming Hub |🎲 Dice💰Lottery | Generous Referral Program ❤❤ on: November 08, 2018, 03:18:42 PM
I do like EOSPlay, it definitely has a cool design, perhaps they should have more games.

EOS is really serious about developing their ecosystem and this is just one of the project they have right now. This is apart from that EOSBet too which I didn't know until I bumped into an ANN thread of EOSex.com. You guys should be coordinating with each other here. If you are serious about gaming hub, maybe you can also create a sport betting project for EOS.

Actually yeah, it seems that they have a few projects running at the same time, I would invest if they had an ICO or something. At least it's a working product, right?
