441  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bittrex is a scam website - AVOID!- WITH PROOF!! on: December 08, 2017, 02:20:30 AM
After reading this thread, I just sold all my altcoins, just put in a btc withdrawal request.
Got Txid.
Lost a good chunk in the altcoin blood bath but I decided to just keep everything in btc for now.

Thanks guys

Good decision, I'm surprised that people still want to trade there after all this, do they not know or do they just not care? Everyone else, keep spamming their twitter. https[Suspicious link removed]xchange

Bittrex is doing a good job hidding the news, probably they're paying the news media to don't publish any bad new about Bittrex.

It does kind of look that way, they haven't made any statement anywhere about their problems and they seem to ban people on different channels that complain about it. There are only a few sites that did publish the news against bittrex.
442  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin futures on: December 08, 2017, 01:57:13 AM
In theory, futures should be backed by real bitcoin holdings which the issuers of the futures would hold, but im not sure... I think futures is just legal institutional gambling. Wall Street will try to control the price through futures. It depends on how stupid the market is to let themselves get manipulated by the price of something that is not even real Bitcoin. We are dealing with billionaire weasels now, it's a new different level never seen before in Bitcoin.

My recommendation: Ignore futures and it's price, and only trade real bitcoins directly, anything that isn't this is on the scammy side.

Hi & thanks for answering. Can you please explain the point of backing futures with a commodity if the contract is to be cash settled? Why would that be needed?

I have heard that they will be cash settled. I don’t think you would buy actual Bitcoins (or short actual Bitcoins). I don’t know how this will affect the price of actual Bitcoins but is seems that there could be potential for manipulation of the price by doing futures contracts.

This could be good or bad for Bitcoin. It’s new territory for us so we’ll find out the ramifications after the contracts are on the market.

Thx for contributing. Can you please explain how that manipulation would work if futures are settled in fiat? Do you refer to that bitcoin could be bought/sold on-chain in order to manipulate future positions? Becuase that's the only possibility I can see. I.e. not the other way around.

As far as I've come to understand, when the price moves too much in one direction then one side of the futures contract will gradually lose money on his account and eventually risk margin call. Then, if he doesnt deposit more money the exchange will forcefully liquidate his position by selling the future contract (if Long) to someone else. The losing speculator is left with nothing on his account. But he will never have to buy/sell actual bitcoins, right?

This is what Cboe says: XBT futures provides investors with the opportunity to buy, sell and trade bitcoin futures or implement your trading strategies without having to pay for the actual currency. The single price settlement process gives participants the option of using XBT futures to hedge their exposure in underlying bitcoin or gain exposure to traded bitcoin prices without holding bitcoin.

So no, you are never buying or selling, that's pretty much the point. This should push bitcoin price higher, if it's not already doing it but eventually it's going to be bad.
443  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CEX.IO Withdrawal times - any experience? on: December 08, 2017, 01:20:28 AM
I can deposit VISA / Mastercard, but I cannot withdraw. I've been waiting over a week for my selfie verification too! Please help, these long delays are becoming so frustrating. I love the CEX.io interface and support but what's the point if I can't take my money out ever? Thanks...

Bittrex takes even 2 months to verify your account so in comparison cex is actually fast, I don't trust any exchange anymore, only bitstamp. Cex has super slow support system, it's not a professional exchange like I thought it was.
444  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex ignores thousands of clients! on: December 08, 2017, 12:49:51 AM
Yes! Finally verified! Ticket #348219 - solved

I was sending a messages in my ticket regularly, there was no answer. Now I decided to send this message:
"Damn slackers, when you finally will start to solve your client's problems? A lot of people are waiting so long to get verified but you just ignore everyone. Fucking scammers! Worst support ever! Going to report your company to FBI for scamming! :@"

Plus I have sent an e-mail addressed to bill@bittrex.com and ryan@bittrex.com:
"Hello again!

You have a worst support ever. Is it your company's policy to ignore your clients, or just a support are slackers? I`m going to report your company to FBI for scamming. I know, a lot of people already did that, and I will be the one more person!"

Got verified after 10 minutes..... And reply in my Support Ticket was from Ryan.

And what did they tell you? Can you post the email image because I honestly don't really believe you. I don't know if the best approach is to insult them and threaten them, could work but could also just easily backfire on you.

Bittrex ‘Leaks’ User Passports In Support Emails, Says Russian Telegram Channel

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bittrex-leaks-user-passports-in-support-emails-says-russian-telegram-channel

If you know your documents got leaked please send me a PM

I'm surprised how easily people send their IDs to unknown persons  (let it be bittrex or somebody else).  They can simply use your documents to open a bank account and doing some illegal business all in your name....
I also have couple of thousands usd there, but not considering sending them anything.

It would appear Bittrex has changed their TOS again without notification...  The restricted states where NOT on there when I signed up!

Dude people have 100k+ dollars stuck in there and the only way to get them out is by verifying yourself. I personally wouldn't want to give them my ID but there is no other option. I still don't know what the fuck they are doing, it doesn't seem like a full scam and at the same time they keep doing super shady stuff.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GEO] GeoCoin | GIS & GeoTechnologies on: December 07, 2017, 11:59:08 AM
Although I don't like bittrex at all and I wont be trading there anymore, this is really good news and I'm sure the price will seek a new time high very soon, specially with such a low supply the coin is still extremely undervalued.
447  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bittrex is a scam website - AVOID!- WITH PROOF!! on: December 07, 2017, 11:56:11 AM
Out of curiosity, did most people have their accounts locked or reset to 'new' only after they deposited a significant sum for the FIRST time, or did they deposit/withdraw large-ish sums repeatedly before randomly getting screwed?

My experience has been the latter. I've deposited and withdrawn large-ish amounts many times over the years with no trouble, and then randomly they decided to screw me when I deposited a much smaller amount recently. Weird.

Are you talking about USD? It seems that people get locked/disabled when they deposit usd, right? I personally have deposited a good sum of btc and other cryptos and I haven't been disabled, this was before trying to get verified, I never tried to deposit after that.
448  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: December 07, 2017, 11:51:19 AM
If this was all legitimate Bittrex would at the very least allow anyone who wishes it to withdraw their coins. They could simply lock those that fail verification from trading, no need to block withdrawals.

They are withholding OUR coins and keeping them in trex wallets for a reason. That reason is anybody's guess..

Let me withdraw my coins without having to hand over my ID  & face photo (FFS.. that is ridiculous) to an anonymous service and I'll stay far, far away from your scammy exchange.

-edit
Genuine question - is there anyone who tried to do the Basic Verification and actually succeeded?  I got the "no public record match" and it seems a lot of other people did too... just wonder whether anyone actually made it through that stage.

I've asked that question a couple of times and haven't seen a single person claim to have passed Basic verification.

It seems that you have to be from the US and make no mistake and you would get verified, I've seen some people that got verified with the basic verification but most of the times it wont work and it's retarded that they will allow non US residents to try basic verification when they know it wont work.
449  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bittrex is a scam website - AVOID!- WITH PROOF!! on: December 06, 2017, 12:39:03 AM
If you want your ticket to receive Bittrex support, read the details here, I hope it can help you.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2525770.0

Don't fall for scams guys, if you really want the ticket to be seen faster you can use the 2fa ''trick''. You can send them another ticket but using ''disable 2fa'' and telling them you need your 2fa to be disabled. They will ask you for your balance, a few transaction ids and IP to disable your 2fa. You should give them all that + Id and Id+selfie+piece of paper with date and bittrex written on it.
but can't you simply disable 2FA on your settings page? why would they react on that in the support section?

The point is to make them answer you. You are ''tricking'' them into believing you can't access your account, this triggers their system and you will get an automated response. You can then respond to that ticket with your id and selfie and it seems that they will check it faster that way.
450  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: December 06, 2017, 12:37:53 AM

I had a 'Legacy' type account on Bittrex (more than 18 months old) which effectively had a limitless daily withdrawal limit.
I never had any withdrawal problems in the past and used to deposit and withdraw substantial amounts of btc without
any hassles. Recently I deposited btc to trade alts and when i tried to withdraw i discovered that my account type had been
changed from 'Legacy' to 'New' and that i now had a ZERO (0) withdrawal limit! Note that at the time I made these crypto
deposits (over the last couple of months) there was NO WARNING whatsover that my account type had been changed to New
and that I now had ZERO withdrawal capability! (Due to the outcry about this disgusting deceitful behaviour I see
Bittrex NOW has a warning once logged in that says you cannot withdraw anything due to being 'unverified'... TOO LATE
to put that notice up now!! It should have been put up there the second they changed my withdrawal limit to zero and
my account type to New so that i could back then decide for myself whether i still wanted to deposit funds knowing i
would then need to give up my privacy and get 'verified'.  These scumbags took that choice away from me and are
now holding my funds hostage to extort me for my personal information!

This is totally unacceptable and is nothing short of entrapment and plain theft.

I figured i'd do Basic Verification but this did not work - no surprises there after researching the problem and found that
NOBODY is getting it right to complete Basic Authentication anymore... so Basic Authentication is a joke! in fact it's just
a trap that Bittrex has laid out in which they use the info you input into Basic Verification against you after they purposefully
fail it and then coerce you into doing Advanced Verification ... and then if there is ANY mismatch between the info you
entered in Basic compared to Advanced then you are screwed and it can take months (if you're lucky) to get Bittrex Support
to manually verify you. Note that there is no option to review your Basic verification info or update it afterwards ... this
is by design to trap you into a position whereby you upload all your docs for Advanced verification but get this failed anyway
due to some mismatch (no matter how trivial) so still no withdrawal ability even although you have uploaded more than
enough personal info to allow identity theft. Do you trust Bittrex with your personal ID documents when this is how they operate??

I refuse to give in to this extortion by Bittrex and am not prepared to do Advanced Verification due to the shady way they
went about entrapping me (no warning) into depositing crypto all the while changing my account type and withdrawal limits
to zero stealthily without my knowledge! This is the lowest of low i have ever encountered - not even Poloniex pulled this kind of devious sh1t!
I opened a Support ticket regarding this but get no response.

i'll be joining the class action against Bittrex for sure due to their unacceptable shady behaviour and their use of my
deposited funds to extort all my personal ID info from me against my will!

If there are any decent human beings left then please give me my coins back

They are basically scamming and I read somewhere that jomio or jumio whatever the name of the system is, will sell your ID data if needed. It seems to be specified in their ToS. I don't know if it's true but I wouldn't be surprised.
451  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: December 05, 2017, 07:32:54 PM
So, basically there two options:

1) Something malicious: count your coins lost, don't give them anything more (protect your ID).
2) Overwhelmed by something, but no malicious intent: wait for them to respond, count your coins lost, but there might be a chance you get them back. In worst case they have to close your account and return your funds.

I thought they were going to go full scam but it seems that it might just be incompetence since they are actually solving quite a few tickets. This still shows the lack of experience of the people that are running the exchange.
452  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex ignores thousands of clients! on: December 05, 2017, 07:31:45 PM
Read the site below. Reporting it is an option. The more reports are sent, the more attention it will get and then Bittrex must make right or face serious consequences:

https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us

They may be hotshots in cryptos, but in the American criminal system they are small potatoes perfect for crushing by the FBI to show their capabilities.

Drop an anonymous tip if you prefer (website tells you how). Spread the word on THIS option!

That's an option but it takes some time. Best bet would be to sue them. Many people can't but if you are from US, you can and it will probably be faster and better than reporting it to the fbi because how knows how many reports they get daily.
453  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: December 05, 2017, 04:13:41 PM
Yesterday they approved my enhanced account finally so I could withdrew funds (after two weeks). Will not use them never again, at least not for years to come.

I was very aggressive. I fighted them where I thought it can hurt them most. Social media (especially twitter), bitcoin local groups, podcast chats. Always trying to use my real name, hopping so they can identify me. Its the most effective way for them to lose money, if their customers start leaving or you are helping new ones to go to alternatives. For the fact, I know at least few 10s if not hundred users withdrawn money because of my activities. They lost more opportunity money than they could ever stole from me. I also contacted top bittrex people on their linkedin accounts (had to buy pro version for that) and send them some personal messages (so they feel at least a little uncomfortable if not threatened).

This tactics worked before from me. I got money from Cryptsy as I did similar thing early enough while they still cared enough for losing money and bad reputation.

Now. Here the story will not end for me like it did with cryptsy and we know how that one ended. What really pisses me off, is that they stole money from bunch of people from third world countries like Iran, India, Pakistan.... That happened a while ago and nobody talked much about it. I traveled the world enough and for a fact know most of those people live already a hard life with their oppressive governments. And lots of them were now robbed just like that. While at the same time they seem to put zero effort to resolve situation, but rather continue adding new trading pairs and getting new users into trap.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-altcoin-exchange-bittrex-eyed-with-suspicion-due-to-thousands-of-mysterious-account-closings

We need to help this industry grow by actively campaigning against bad actors and their practices (not just frauds, incompetence goes to the same length) and shortsightedness of people milking the crypto and giving little in return.

Effective ways to turn away new customers and making existing ones leave is showing them links to bittrex latest twitts (where people complain massively), bitcointalk threads like this one, active petitions and youtube videos.

One very effective punchline is to point out they have new 200.000+ unresolved support tickets opened in the last month only. I have created additional ticket in the timespan of three days and number grew for over 25k.. Very visal screenshot to show to people. New people know nothing about mt.gox and cryptsy so it helps you point them there also.

Did you get a mail telling you that you got verified on your personal mail or their support ticket or did you have to check manually on your bittrex account?
454  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bittrex scams $millions and the community is in denial phase! on: December 05, 2017, 04:08:06 PM
Bittrex is a ponzi scheme.  They are long gone.  The site is on automatic.  What they are doing is very illegal.  It may not have completely collapsed yet, as some people can still withdraw, and that is their plausible deniability, for now, but make no mistake.  They do not have your funds and they are not planning to give you your coins back, ever.  They have stolen your crypto tokens.  It has nothing to do with regulations.  They are scammers.  Period. The best we can do is launch a lawsuit and hope to settle for a fraction of what is owed to us.  Stop defending these criminals.

Not a ponzi scheme, they might have tried to scam people and now they got scared. I personally think they are just incompetent and fucking lazy. They can't even write a statement about the whole situation. You will eventually get verified most of the times although you can get your account banned/disabled. The should still be punished and no one should use the exchange anymore but people don't care.

They are horrible, they have terrible reviews and 0 support just like many other exchanges. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15102 This is their CEO or whatever, you can try to contact him. He hasn't been online in a long time, though. Just a really shitty exchange overall.
457  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex ignores thousands of clients! on: December 01, 2017, 01:57:02 PM
We might don't need their ticket's number. They are just spamming with their begs, hoping someone will solve their problems. I think that will not work, while some interesting post might be unnoticed because of this spam. More constructive discussion how to solve the whole problem (not a problem of specific Bittrex client) would be more reasonable.

"Spamming with begs" ? Excuse me, but people's livelihood is seized by Bittrex for weeks and months with no resolution in sight. Begging is the least they can do. To beg for access to your own property - that is something truly terrible.
I think begging is one of the worst tactics here. It will not help, I think, but make clients look weak and pathetic... so encouraging NOT to return the money.

There is nothing else you can do to access your funds unless you want to sue them which takes a lot of time, effort and money. For now the only thing is to beg, they are verifying some accounts it seems.

After the swap, i have 700GEO on bittrex and i will receive 700UBQ on wallet UBQ Bittrex?
No that is not correct.  You will have 700 GEO after the swap occurs.  The difference being if you want to withdraw that balance from Bittrex you will need to use a UBQ wallet capable of handling UBQ tokens.
mean geo swap and another coin but this coin in bittrex?
And use UBQ on Bittrex when i with draw?
this coin after swap have exchange on bittrex? same ANS  swap NEO
or if i have geo on bittrex, how to receive new coin or bittrex auto swap for me?
I don't think you fully understand how swap will work, we will be transfering all the GEO balances from the current blockchain onto the UBQ blockchain as GEO tokens.  Bittrex will handle it all behind the scenes for you, on the front end it will appear the same to you.  In the backend if you wanted to withdraw your GEO balance from Bittrex after the swap has occurred, you will no longer be able to use your current GEO wallet.  You will need to use a UBQ wallet capable of handling the GEO token.  I hope that helps clear things up.

You wont be able to withdraw from bittrex, they are scamming people, check it out right now, you probably are already disabled and can't withdraw.
459  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ADDITIONAL CAMPAIGNS!!!!! on: December 01, 2017, 01:57:44 AM
It's hard to find a good signature campaign that isn't flooded with people wanting to join. Usually new campaign threads are full within a day, sometimes it takes only hours.
It's a popular business and a lucrative one on top of that. People are ready to lie, beg, threaten others and report posts just to get a spot and if they do they'll want to keep it.
In short, you just got to watch the threads and apply early. By the time a thread appears in on the list of campaigns in this section it's usually full.

There are still plenty of campaigns if you are willing to get paid in other coins, specially tokens. I personally believe it's even better that way, you can make a lot of additional money with twitter/facebook bounty campaigns.

That wont happen because bittrex is about to go full scam just like cryptsy, for the sake of this project you should find another exchange, anything other than bittrex.

You see my friend - we are kinda cooked here as we are holding Geo's on Bittrex since 2 months in anticipation for the swap which is all the time 'around the corner', and yes it is a scary prospect keeping funds for so long on an exchange... but you gotta do what you gotta do in crypto world, right?

You don't understand, do you? https://twitter.com/BittrexExchange/status/936078538922385408 There are thousands of locked accounts and they are still locking more, maybe yours is next if it's not already locked for withdrawals.
