That's incorrect in my humble opinion.
There's a lot of places on the internet where people congregate and talk about Bitcoin, this one being only one of a few. Even if this forum went to shit and/or shut down, people would just move to a different site and continue as they were previously. This forum is insignificant on the future of Bitcoin because of this, same as a forum about the Russian Ruble would be insignificant on the progress of the Ruble its self.

That's incorrect to me. This is the most popular forum for Bitcoin, created directly by Satoshi with half a million users registered.

Yes and the news are also watched by millions of people yet when they say killing or raping is bad, guess what, killing and raping still happen because people who do those things don't give a shit, same concept applied here
I don't want to assume anything here, so I will just ask. Are you implying we're never going to reach some sort of humble and civil compromise? We are a tech savvy forum. We are one of the most intelligent people on the internet. I am sure we can come together at some point. I just don't know when. It has to be soon though, because 6 years has already passed us by.

I'm not sure if trolling or serious.
The definition of a troll is someone that posts deliberately offensive comments to get offended reactions.

I do not believe I have done that in this post. No matter. If you are offended by me, just ignore me I suppose. I'm not hurting anyone.

Now seeing that you were serious.. No I'm sure we will never come together at some point. Has that ever happened anywhere in the world? No, there is always going to be at least 1 crazy person that fucks up everything. People have different opinions even if one of them is the correct one, the other part thinks their opinion is the correct one and so on..
782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: December 12, 2015, 01:20:51 PM
What are your experiences in handling paypal disputes? What if the buyer is fraudulent and filed charge-backs? Since PP sides buyers, won't the seller be at the losing end?

That kind of stuff only happens when you are using paypal to trade with someone else. Paypal is super secure when you are using it to buy from websites, specially physical goods.
783  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Basic trading tips on: December 12, 2015, 01:19:16 PM
Imagine you buy 1 bitcoin at 400$, it's a wise idea to have some active orders or a bot to sell if it hits 350$ for example because at night when you sleep the price can go down easily even 100$ and you don't want to have your bitcoin stand still and lose money.
784  Economy / Gambling / Re: [POLL] Best Dice of 2015 on: December 12, 2015, 01:15:50 PM
I actually voted for 999dice. I know people think it's a scam, it never was 100% proven and I personally have won over 2 bitcoins there from 0.004 bitcoins, they never fucked up any withdraw and they are always fast plus the betting speed is also super fast with the 200 bets per second on auto. Bitcoinvideocasino also has a pretty fast dice betting.
785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Gambling, Money is not everything on: December 12, 2015, 01:13:20 PM
Although I know this whole thread is basically to farm signature posts I have to say that gambling is one of the worst forms of entertainment. When I gamble I do it for the money because I know there is a slight chance to win that big pot, you can play videogames if you want entertainment.
786  Other / Off-topic / Re: When is it useful to borrow bitcoin? on: December 11, 2015, 06:20:21 PM
Borrow bitcoin for 1 year contract when it fall. Double borrowed bitcoin when price going up and profit.

Optimistic boy! I guess its bad idea borrowing bitcoin in long term.
Not many people want to lend out their bitcoin for a long time.

If you have a strong collateral they might but you could just sell the collateral honestly, I don't see any advantage in getting long term loans, in 1 year you would definitely be able to buy bitcoins so why borrow them?

788  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports trading strategy? on: December 11, 2015, 06:16:02 PM
I was betting with betdaq and the betfair. These sites allow you to do sports trading. Now, we have BetBTC which works pretty similar to those sites.
An easy way to get some profits is to play for freebets. once you get a good trade going you can trade your bet and collect your profit. After that, you can invest your profit. that will be a freebet.
another strategy is to go for sure bets. meaning that you will always have some winnings to collect. In this case, you select a different betting site always checking for the best odds. if it is a soccer game you can, for example, bet against the Draw and eventually would be covering any other result. Now, after that you will need to find a betting site that has a nice odd for the draw and put your bet on favor of a Draw. After that you will have all results covered and no matter what the final result you will always make some profit.

tell me what you think

Is that even possible? There are no sure or guarantee winning bet. Because is is betting against with odds and that is not although you do some bet with 1.02 multiplier it wont guarantee you will win that match. Are you saying here is to cover other match with other match? If you say so this is almost the same as martingale then
~
Forget that martingale...
it is possible and it is called sure bet. its kind of arbitrage between different betting sites:
https://en.surebet.com/surebets

you need to do some calculation and have you account funded in a few betting sites for that to work.

Of course its possible! it is a widely known strategy between progessional sport betting traders. And you also have plenty of sites to help you find the right matches. As for the calculator you can find it here:
http://www.betting-smart.net/en/surebetcalculator.htm

You don't even need sure bets to make profit, profesional tipsters are not even using them because they can rely simply on statistics and their knowledge of the sport which is enough to make profit.
789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Satoshi himself the single individual with the most power to harm Bitcoin? on: December 10, 2015, 04:50:35 PM
If the price goes to 1 million I would expect bitcoin to be accepted on 99% of the shops, online and offline, if people were using bitcoins for basically everything, selling a million bitcoins at once won't do anything because people won't care about the price of bitcoin compared to dollars or any other currency.
790  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: We just launched! on: December 10, 2015, 04:44:18 PM
This really to me look like somebody's first website. Nothing like how most other sites on the internet work. Have you heard of bootstrap.css? Or HTML5, even CSS for that matter? You might want to try finding some tutorials on the internet and start teaching yourself coding.

Forget about that, the interface is not what matters, the content is. He listed like 5 shitty faucets and that's it? I mean we could just go to micro earnings and search for faucets ourselves, the list needs to have more faucets with more detailed information about them. There are other methods too, lending, investing, mining, where are those methods listed at?
791  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question about Valid Collateral on: December 10, 2015, 04:40:11 PM
Valid collateral can be only altcoins. Blog can be collateral only in rare specific cases as an exception.  Wink

There are so many altcoins, do you have to create wallet for all the altcoin you want to accept as collateral?
Lenders generally accept only bigger alt coins like Litecoin since it has low volatility. Lenders can choose to accept other coins but most would just place them at exchanges and request a much higher collateral value.

Afterall if lenders are worried about volatility they shouldn't lend at all because bitcoins have just as much volatility, look at the price, from 200 to 400 and from 400 to 200 again in a matter of days, it's risky.
792  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: December 10, 2015, 04:35:38 PM
invest for sure. money just gonna value less overtime.
Invest in gold or land or bitcoin.

Is it really? How do you know? Money as a whole can't lose value, if dollars go down, euros go up and if you had euros the value of your money is going up basically, gold can go to shit too, you never know.
793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long will 1 year 25 weeks take to download (file size?) on: December 10, 2015, 04:33:20 PM
Does anyone know how much would it take me to download the full wallet from 0? I have only 20mb/s of internet connection, is it going to take like a year?
794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: December 10, 2015, 04:28:12 PM
Paypal is more widely accepted, but if we give a few years, i'm sure bitcoin will overtake paypal. If there's a seller accepting bitcoin, it's usually highly discounted, so that's great.

I believe few years also are not required for bitcoin to replace paypal. Around the up coming halving, we can see drastic value appreciations of bitcoin value which will eventually force most of the merchants to adopt bitcoin as a payment processor. Hope for the best things to happen.

No. Why would that be? Bitcoin was at 1200$ and almost no business started to accept bitcoins. If bitcoin goes high that fast, it wouldn't encourage people to accept it as a payment method because of the volatility, there is no way for a big business right now to accept bitcoins, imagine that, they could lose millions. Imagine they sell things for a value of 1 million dollars everyday, instead of dollars they were bought with bitcoins, what would happen if the price drops 100$ the next week, they would basically lose millions.
795  Other / Meta / Re: HYIP SCAMS - We need to do something on: December 10, 2015, 04:23:06 PM
Hello Friends,

HYIP Scams have a long history in the internet.
And with bitcoin HYIPS, almost 99.99% turn out to be scammers.

<snip>

I personally have been scammed many times. Almost every little satoshi I earned from faucets have been eaten up by scammy Hyips.

<more snippage>

Good day. Smiley

So, what exactly is your problem? Are you a slow learner or just let greed get the best of you? The vast majority of these scams are quite easy to spot.

 He's not a slow learner.   He's a HYIPocrite.

HAHA. It's extremely hard for someone to get scammed by HYIP's or ponzis, really. Only a few of them even try to hide the fact that they are ponzis, like 99% of them tell you already they are a scam yet people still give them money, then complain??? I don't know, humans..
796  Other / Meta / Re: reason why sig-campaigns are not banned? on: December 10, 2015, 04:19:13 PM
If you think that removing signature campaigns will end all spam you are deeply mistaken. Go see some other big online communities and forums - Reddit for example.
There are no paid signature campaigns there - yet the spam is overwhelming.
Signature Campaigns for the contrary are making people's posts more constructive imo because most of the campaign managers are not paying for half witted spammy posts.

The spam here is defined differently. Spam is supposed to be someone that with the use of electronic messaging systems sends unsolicited messages (from wikipedia) but here in the forum spam is more like posts that are not constructive which can easily be ignored, I really don't know why people get so mad, you can simply ignore them. At least we dont have people spamming memes or photos every thread or what's worse like youtube which is full of every type of spam possible, memes, people copying jokes, overused memes, pretty much 90% of the comments there are off topic.

Hey, an even better question, where's the new forum, lebrowski?
I believe OP's intention was asking the same thing, then start arguing about how much theymos has spent on it(a tactic similar to Goat's). But as the question has been "over-asked" , this was probably done to stir things up

It seems that lately a few newbie accounts have been used to troll the forum, like the other guy called fwxsh or something like that, I wonder if they are all the same person hiding on newbie accounts.
799  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do DICE BOTS Actually Work For You? on: December 10, 2015, 04:06:38 PM
Dice Bots just help you to do automatic/very fast rolls with many option. But, without good bet setting, you could lose your money easily.
Bots and your bet setting isn't perfect, so it won't give you profit.

Also, there are many bots which don't run well or steal your bitcoin Sad

No, actually with any settings bots will only help you to lose your money faster, you might aswell just bet half of your money on 5% two times and see if you get lucky, it's faster and the odds are basically the same.
800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest win with the smallest amount ever bet? on: December 10, 2015, 04:05:13 PM
That Hui's bet was insane! I didn't read about it in PD thread and I see this first time. Someone will be kind and explain to me how that was possible? You can have bet multiplayer of 9900x on PrimeDice?
Your chances of winning this must be something like 1:1.000.000.

Correct, the maximum multiplier on Primedice is x9900 and your chance to win such a bet would be 0.01% or equivalently 1 in 10000.

1 in 10.000 seems fair enough, although if you play that might aswell buy lottery tickets, at least you get a higher jackpot but it's still a good ''strategy'' to use if you are farming the faucet of the site, free and fast money.
