I don't get the drama about escrow. Hopefully I didn't misjudge as I have already paid anyway, but please tell me what I'm overseeing here (if I did):

Goat can proove he's got the shares and is allowed to auction them (friedcat confirmed).
friedcat is in controle of the shares anyway.

We have proof of our winning bids and payments...so friedcat will surely "transfer" the shares to us anyway?
Escrow actually adds risk: If John gets hit by a bus (please don't ever do!) the coins might really be lost.

Goat has said that friedcat confirmed his ownership of the shares, but I have not seen that quoted anywhere thus far.

I could be wrong but I don't think wachtwoord's problem with the deal was the escrow itself, rather the innocuous way the contract was worded.

Personally I have placed my trust in the reliability and trustworthiness of John to act as escrow agent.

I sent the e-mail to John and he confirmed it in this thread. I did not post it publicly. If it happens that in two months that this is an issue cuz Friedcat is MIA I will give him access to my g-mail account.

Thanks

It looks like almost everyone paid but that 750 BTC guy so I will not be adding more shares to sell. 850 will be the total for this auction.

Here may be the cause for miscommunication.

Chaang Noi only lists the bids that are still in contention to win the shares.
Vezunchik doesn't see all the bids he has made in the list and feels something went wrong.

Because a lot of other auctioners create a list where all bids are mentioned - and there is a line between the bids that are still in contention and the bids that have dropped off.

Yes.
My bid 300 @ 0.42 # 105 must be in winners list. - mistake.
You didn't found mistakes in my table. So you winers table was made in wrong way. - mistake.

If anyone finds a mistake please tell me specifically what that is and I will try to deal with that fairly.

Thank you.

There are a lot of independent members here, but no one wants make a look for bid list. You may do it by yourself - just search for ("@" OR "PM") in this thread.

Vezunchik, now you are confusing me. Can an independent party parse this thread for the correct final winners? Or is Goat just going to settle discrepancies with extra shares to sell?

I've already sold some assets to free up the coins for my 100 shares, and would like to make sure I'm not wasting my time and some margin.

Vezunchik, I do not understand. Is there a reason why you are not paying for your shares?

In a PM I told him I think he owes me 63 BTC for 150 shares. He is welcome to claim them.
1307  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER AUCTION 2000 sahres. on: February 20, 2013, 11:47:49 AM
FYI: I have withdrawn my bid via PM.

NP, Thanks

(sorry in case this is OT): I might be interested and found the huge asicminer thread. Can someone tell me where to go to get more detailed info on Asicminer, like share contract and stuff? Are these shares publicly traded somehwere?
ASICMINER shares are currently not publicly tradable, but I think they are making their own exchange, and there's going to be passthroughs obviously.

It would be good to see contract to be able to evaluate expected dividends and whatnot... any place to see this stuff? I think initially there were 400,000 shares of which 200,000 have been given out at BTC 0.1?

That is correct. I do not know where the contract can be found other than maybe the main thread on page one?

There is so much interest in this because they are actively mining with massive THs and BFL and others keep delaying.

Thanks.

ASICMiner was listed on GLBSE. It is only trading OTC now but will be listed before dividends. Right now auctions like this is the only way to buy ASICMiner.

Thanks.

Just throw  me and my bids away in previous topic, without any answer? Well lets see what will happen at the end here...
225 @ 0.38

You can not bid in this auction until you pay for the shares in the other auction.

There seems to be a misunderstanding so please private message me. You should have the payment address already.

Thank you.

1312  Economy / Auctions / 850 (or more) ASICMiner shares for sale. 1 day auction! on: February 20, 2013, 10:03:25 AM
TL;DR  2000 AsicMiner auction @ .38 BTC

750 (or more) ASICMiner shares for sale.

I am selling the shares that people bid on, but did not pay for in this thread. 850 right now but I would guess 100 or so will be added in about 12 hours.

Bids need to start at .38 and go up by multiples of .01
You must bid in blocks that are divisible by 25  (ex, 25, 50, 100, 1375, 2000)
I'd like you to post in the thread but PM's are fine if you are an established member and want to be anon.
You must pay with in 24 hours.
Please do not bid if you will not buy.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144574.0

I will go traveling for the weekend so this auction will have to end (Thursday, 2013-02-22 14:00 UTC).

Local rules, you must stay on topic. If you want to ask off topic questions please PM me.  Also "Pipesnake" may not post in this thread.

1313  Economy / Auctions / Re: One single lot of 100 ASICMINER shares on: February 20, 2013, 09:39:07 AM
BTC0.9/share?? Wow, that's more than double what they are trading for everywhere else.

But maybe not what they should be trading at Smiley

Oh and you live in Thailand right?

I live in the USA.

Which country do you think would enforce accountability for a bitcoin-related scam?

Neither.

and that is why we use trusted escrow:)

Right because you want to do a $100,800 trade WITHOUT escrow

Go scam someone else.

Where was this $100,800 trade  Huh

Different thread, and he is not talking about me.

Some one spammed this, I think the mods got rid of some of the off topic posts.

Wow 2000 shares huh?

No wonder you wanted to thread-jack.

So what's going to happen if you never receive those ASICminer shares?

I'm sure you're planning on refunding all these nice people right?

So what exactly is different from your scam than mine?

Because some guy confirmed an email?!?

I'd have NO PROBLEM doing that.  After all, that is some kind of escrow!

I have very good reason to suspect you will not receive the shares. My recommendation is that everyone should use escrow unless they trust the buyer very highly. Having someone look at an e-mail is NOT escrow.

Thank you and please everyone trade safe use trusted escrow!

1320  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER AUCTION 2000 sahres. on: February 20, 2013, 06:13:20 AM
The OP says you must pay within 24 hours. However I will extend this to when I wake up in the morning. That will be around 8:00 AM Thailand time. (in about 19 hours)

If I can not see the coin by then, you no longer have a claim.

Also IRC #1 turned out to be a troll so if anyone is interested in 750 shares please let me know.

Thank you.
