1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Remote Hard Reset for GPU Rigs? on: April 23, 2016, 02:57:39 AM
These are the ones i've got to remotely reboot. Although that i never need to do that.

Not cheap but they work fantastically!

if i'm not mistaken this need a wire anyway, so it's not really what the op is looking for, he was talking to do it without any electrical connection, but only with internet

Found this on Amazon for US users, a bit pricey but looks like it would fit the bill nicely.

EDIT: Found another very similar unit (TP-LINK) for only $29.95.  www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-Amazon-Electronics-Anywhere-HS100/dp/B0178IC734/ref=pd_cp_107_1
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Coin exchange ethereum to BTC? on: April 23, 2016, 02:44:03 AM
Poloniex, Bitfinex, Kraken are exchanges you can use to sell Ethereum for BTC.

You could sell your ETH now, but the price could go up as well. Do your research, but in the end make up your own mind and not blindly go by what other people say.

Just keep in mind that if they were so proficient with correctly predicting markets, they would be off sailing on their yacht with a bunch a bikini babes and not hanging out on Internet forums trying to convince others what to do.
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Wall? ICO? on: April 21, 2016, 11:43:19 PM
Hi, a buy wall is a very large amount of Bitcoin placed in the buys side of a coin listed on any exchange. It can be there for a number of reasons. Perhaps to encourage the price to rise, or an investor who really wants to buy in to a coin cheaper than what they are on the sell side. I usually see it as encouraging sign. A sell wall works in the opposite way (depending on its size) but really large ones can often be used to suppress the price. It could even be placed by the same person who has the large buy wall so he can accumulate more coins cheaper than buying from the sells side. An ICO stand for initial coin offering. They are purchased by the public from the developers or an exchange before they are listed for regular trading. Etherium and Lisk are two examples. I like ICO's because I don't mine coins and it gives me a chance to get in early. However, they do come with risks like developers vanishing after they have received BTC from the public. You can usually tell from the announcement though if there is a risk. If there is very low effort put in to the ICO caution is advised.

thanks

GailSan pretty much nailed it, but I will add to be sure to use his definitions and not those you typically find on trollbox chat. I get sick of people calling a 10, 20 even 50 BTC order a wall like you often see, especially on Poloniex. "OMG guys, there is a 20 BTC buy wall on ETH" is typical of this type of talk. A real buy (or sell) wall would be more on the order of 1000's of BTC considering ETH's volume and would take hours, if not days to move past.

Most of what you do see of these big walls are fake, meaning that they are meant more to move the market in a direction (buy up, sell down) then actually acquire or sell coins at the "wall's" price. You can tell this as if a wall is nibbled on, meaning some orders against it are executing, the wall suddenly disappears without the corresponding amount of orders showing in the history, meaning the manipulator removed the order before it was completely filled.
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Soon Back To Sub 1 Dollar on: April 21, 2016, 11:34:01 PM
It is doubtful it will go back to $1 anytime soon, too many miners have jumped on board with their (assumed) investments in hardware and infrastructure to simply give their Ethereum away. The cost to mine 1 ETH is approximately $1.40 based upon normal hash-rates and an electricity cost of $0.08 KWh, and this figure does not include any ROI on investments.

Based upon this and the fact that the mining difficulty is continuing to rise, I don't think will go much below $5.00, with $3.00 probably a pretty solid floor.
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feathercoin Doubled on: April 21, 2016, 08:10:28 AM
Glad my wallet took awhile to sync up and for me to get my FTC transferred, I managed to sell some at 10k sat, or 0.0001 BTC Smiley

I haven't sold it all yet, waiting to see if it goes up some more, but if it drops near 9k again I will probably let it all go. I didn't have that much, but at 10k I can get 3 BTC back.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be ethereum price in 2 years from now ? on: April 21, 2016, 05:28:16 AM
Also we need to consider BTC's price in 2 years. A rising BTC (tide) floats all alts (boats).

Short term fluctuations usually result in alts dropping somewhat when BTC rises, which makes sense as they are priced in BTC for the most part, but it also the BTC tide that brings the needed $$ required for trading in the alts. LTC only hit its peak near $50 when BTC was pushing for $1,200.

LTC lagged BTC a bit when it first took off back in 2013, and I think the same thing will happen to alts this time around. If BTC starts pushing $500, at first alts will either go down or stay about the same, but once $500 is breached and it starts pushing $600, $700, or even $800, I think we will see the alts start to explode too.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: April 21, 2016, 05:16:08 AM
The ETH price will come down for awhile and shake out weak hands. I think there will be some sub 0.015, maybe even sub 0.010 buying opportunities in the weeks/months ahead before it makes another run for the highland.
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Predicted Price of dogecoin? on: April 21, 2016, 05:09:50 AM
If you look at the complete chart of dogecoin, you can see it's become a pump and dump coin. It will drop back down to 30-40 sat for a few months then out of no where bamm, it will pump up again. Just spread some buy orders around in the 30's and 40's and hope they all fill. Once you invested what you are comfortable with and have your doge bags filled, set some sell orders about double what you bought them for and forget about it.

By December they should have all sold and you can rinse repeat the whole process. Usually doge gets two of these cycles per year, but it can and does vary to throw people off. The exact bottom and top also varies, but don't get too greedy and try to time the absolute bottom or later try to sell at very peak and you should do well.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feathercoin Doubled on: April 21, 2016, 04:50:22 AM
Sweet, one of the few coins I was able to withdraw from crooksy before they closed. Syncing the wallet now, time to dump my last 30k of this dead coin.
1010  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: April 20, 2016, 06:26:21 PM
I will keep playing as long as bitcoin has a price. but maybe I'll find a job in the real, because bitcoin already I can not rely anymore, if the price is only $1.

Do you mean that now you are not working on any real jobs and rely only on bitcoin for your daily life? If so, I wonder how you can make a living with bitcoin only. Would you share how you do it?

It may sound impossible, but in some countries people get by on only a few $ a day, so even earning 0.25 btc a month may be a lot. In the US it is quite different and you would probably need to make at least 10 BTC a month to live, which would be quite a bit harder to come by.
1011  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late to start with bitcoin? on: April 20, 2016, 06:17:15 PM
Exactly as most users quote the price is increasing continuously day by day. It is just the gradual growth based on the technology. So halving will surely give a good price rise, it's better to buy at this price and get good profit rather than waiting for a low price than the current price.

Yes, I agree with this sentiment that the growth is a slow natural progression based upon more awareness and usefulness of the technology. The halving will have an effect, but this will be temporary blip in the overall scheme of things. There are probably plenty of people who are buying now looking to cash out when the halving occurs, so we may see a boom and bust cycle again this year, but the overall trend is still a slow steady rise.

I think a bigger issue is the block size debate, once that is resolved we will probably see a greater reaction than the halving. The halving is a predicable event that has been known about and priced in for a long time, where the block size debate is still uncertain and uncertainty makes investors nervous.
1012  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late to start with bitcoin? on: April 20, 2016, 06:11:06 PM
As my teacher always say, better late than never. Although it's too late to buy bitcoin since we passed the 300$ phase already, it's not too late to start from signature campaign and faucets.

Also if you buy bitcoin right now, it is believed that after 12 weeks, the price will shoot up. Better buy bitcoins right now and hope that their prediction comes true.
The prediction is true and i think it will double the price after halving you dont need to wait for 12 weeks the price is gradually increasing and i think it will increase more sooner more and more.. and some other investors are buying more bitcoins because they know the price will be double after block halving.. the price of bitcoin right now according to preev price is 441.3 btc and don't waste your time to buy right now day by day the price of bitcoin is increasing..

I don't know about it doubling after the halving, I know a lot of people expect that but that doesn't mean it will happen. I am sure it will go up some, as we are seeing now, but BTC is often unpredictable and there are many people looking to make money off the expectations and behaviors of others.
1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We missed the ETH train. on: April 20, 2016, 06:01:44 PM
The train in slowing down as it approaches the next station to let people off and allow new people to get on board. I am not sure exactly when or where this new station will appear, but it will probably charge around 0.01 BTC/ticket to get on the train.

Its destination from there? Up a mountain. The question is will it successfully make it up the mountain with its many peaks and valleys, switchbacks, and treacherous tracks along the way, or will it run off the rails, or be buried in an avalanche? Many possibilities, both good and bad, but it is sure to be an exciting ride.
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be ethereum price in 2 years from now ? on: April 20, 2016, 05:22:28 PM
What will be ethereum price in 2 years  ?

What do you think ?

eth @ 20-50 usd ?

eth @ 200 usd + ?

eth @ 0 usd ? = deadcoin ?

If it is not an elaborate scam then I can see the $20-$50 range being viable in two years time.

If it turns out to be an elaborate scam then 0 USD is another possibility.

I am still on the fence on this one, for every good thing it seems something else negative is also revealed. While the official forums being shut down is not the end all be all, it is a rather curious development considering the almost overnight success it has recently enjoyed.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum - Time to buy or time to sell? on: April 20, 2016, 05:06:58 PM
Well, I bought a bit as part of a buy-in-stages plan to "leg in" and HODL. Only a minnow's worth, but what the hey.

And what I bought, I've already lent out on Polo's Loan Market. The low offer is pretty durn high: 0.0397%. Must be a fair bit of eager short sellers. Wink

Is there a minimum of ETH you need to loan it?

I believe you can lend as little as 0.001 ETH at a time, at least that is the minimum amount you can offer on the BTC side, so I assume it is the same with ETH. With BTC it make more sense to lend in fractions, but with ETH fairly cheap compared to BTC it is not hard to have at least 1 ETH to lend out.

The minimums only apply to the initial offering you do manually, sometimes automatic renewals break this amount into smaller pieces so a auto renew can be even a smaller amount. This is one quirk of Poloniex, I have had a times several 1 satoshi BTC loans out due to the auto-renewal and of course you never will earn the interest on them since the minimum credit of course needs to be at least 1 satoshi.
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Pump & Dump Scam on: April 15, 2016, 04:21:15 AM
People will get burned so fucking hard from this. Now would be a good time to take profits from this altcoin pump! The chart is screaming for you to take profits guys!

I wrote this close to ATH. I hope people listened!  Undecided  Cry

Depends on when you got in.
If you got in when the price was $0.75, you really won't feel bad about not selling.  Smiley

The cost of my mining was about $0.5. I still think I should have sold when the price was $15. So it depends on individual.

That mining cost was 3 month ago's cost. Today's mining is much higher, probably it is $4 for most people.

The mining cost is definitely higher, but not quite by that much. I have one rig that does 80 MHash/sec and still generates a bit over 1 ETH per day mining. It draws 800 watts from the wall, or 19.2 KWh/day. So even at 10 cents a KWH, 1 ETH runs about $1.90 in electricity. Of course this assumes the rig is paid for, if you are still trying to ROI on equipment then it would be more. So as long as ETH stays above $2 and difficulty doesn't increase much more, mining profit is still there.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v1.2 on: April 15, 2016, 04:07:52 AM
Running Claymore's miner for 8 hours on 4x R9 380 (non X) rig, the hash rate on miner shows 80 Mhash/sec, but on the pool (Etehrmine.org) it dropped from 75 Mhash down to 45 Mhash. I switched back to qtminer for a few hours and my pool hash rate returned to normal, so I rebooted the rig and tried the Claymore miner again and within a hour I seen the hash rate going down again. For now I switched back to qtminer.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: April 12, 2016, 03:41:18 PM
I don't know, but I think ETH is still holding out pretty well. Anyone who thinks it can just moon like it has the past 2 months forever is delusional. It is still up quite a bit from where it was Jan 1st, and is still profitable to mine.

I am currently getting $6 back for every $1 I spend in electricity mining, so it provides a healthy profit by any measure. When I started mining ETH last August I was lucky to break even at times, but by holding during the down periods I made out pretty well when it went over 0.03 BTC.

As to its future, it has just as much a chance as any other alt. It all depends on the continued development and community support. There has already been some positive news stories, so we will just need to wait a bit and see if this continues.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Call the bottom - Ethereum on: April 10, 2016, 12:39:21 PM
I'd say somewhere down around 0.015 BTC or about $6 is where it will bottom out, might even touch $5 for a bit. This will scare out most people into giving up and selling their $10 ETH for half price before the slow pump begins again. This will probably happen in fits and starts as they will need to shake out people on both sides, bears and bulls enough first before next pump. This will probably occur over several months and I am sure we won't see returns to previous highs anytime until well after the BTC halving has come and gone.
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: April 06, 2016, 04:04:39 PM
It may go lower yet, possibly even to 0.018, but now is a good time to start dipping your toes in the water if you have been on the sidelines waiting to get in. But yeah, I don't think there is any danger of going back to $1 anytime soon. I think it was a little early for it hitting $15 when it did, but I think around $8 - $10 range is solid and may stabilize down here awhile before making a renewed run to $15 or higher. I am talking months here, not days, so there should be plenty of time to get in if you want.
