801  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for Loan, Have Collateral on: August 26, 2021, 02:43:25 PM
It's funny reading some of these loan requests.

i no longer need the amazon account, so im sure someone would make use of that 300$.
So, you are putting the collateral on the line which you don't really need. This indicates that you don't have a strong reason to repay the loan. If you are simply looking to sell the account with balance, this isn't the right section or way of doing it.

Instead of all these collaterals, it would have been much better if you told the source of repayment. You are saying that you will repay after 14 days of the loan sent but that shows you are somehow trying to earn money from the loan amount and then payback.
802  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Block reward schedule and average blocks mined per day, where to find info? on: August 26, 2021, 11:18:12 AM
Hi,
I'm new to all this and I'm trying to get some statistics to work on. The thing is I cannot find such information. Sorry if I'm missing something or that has to be calculated somehow, but so far I couldn't find any information.
Thanx a lot!

LiveBitcoinData.com has all the bitcoin data you are looking for and more. If you need additional or customized datapoints, let me know!
The thread is more than 6 months old and as you can see from the profile, Gachet hasn't logged in since early January after creating this thread so your answer won't reach him. Maybe other reads can check that link, but I have never heard about that site.

I don't usually have a website for all these details, instead, I just google things I want to know. Sometimes the answer is straightforward like I searched just now "Current BTC block reward" and google shows me 6.25 BTC while sometimes a little bit of research is required to get the answers.
803  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling Bitcoin on: August 25, 2021, 08:08:27 PM
Sorry, forgive my lack of knowledge but what's stopping you from selling your coins to just anyone using a P2P site like LocalBitcoins or Paxful?

You said due to regulations you cannot sell to exchange but at P2P sites you deal directly with other traders and the price offered is very close to the market price itself.

If you don't want to use a bitcointalk escrow, there's no point opening a thread here in the first place. If you are expecting someone to send you 4 BTC worth of money via bank just by reading these stories, you are mistaken mate.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Is it reasonable to start a new GPU mining farm right when eth 2.0 is so close? on: August 19, 2021, 05:20:06 PM
I know that this has been asked a billion times already, and I know that it has been talked about a billion times as well, but nobody seems to have the right answer. Everyone keeps saying that oh we may move to ravencoin or etc in order to keep going, but looking at their hashrate it is not even close, the hashrate at ethereum ALL will be gone with it, and it will be going to somewhere, and if you do it on the other two, you need the prices to go up insanely high to make it profitable.

So once again I wanted to ask this, if ravencoin and etc doesn't profit the miners, and if 2.0 comes and there is no mining ethereum, then what will the miners do? I really want to start a mining rig and then keep using it is profits to keep growing it, I have sufficient income to sustain myself so only thing I am expecting from my rig is to help me earn enough money to get one more and then one more and grow it.

However this is a long term idea and with 2.0 coming up in a year or so, I am not sure if it really worths it. Even the R&D guy on ETH development team said that it will be pretty hard to make profit after we hit 2022, and that scares me the most. What do you guys think? Should I go for it? It is going to be tough if I do it, but maybe it may work out? Or maybe it will suck after 2.0 and we will all lose money? What is your opinion?
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season Champion: Milwaukee Bucks on: July 27, 2021, 07:08:47 PM
I really do not get the Celtics trade, that looks nearly like "get Kemba out no matter what" type of trade, never understood why teams like Al Horford so much and pay him that much neither, he is not really a good center neither, dude plays with 14 points and 7 rebounds, that is not really a great deal, in this day and age you need centers who can either shoot and spread the floor, or at least grab more rebounds for the shooters to retry when they miss, needs to be a great pick and roll defender as well because that is used but needs to be master and pick and pop as well.

So long story short this wasn't a trade to get AH to the team, this was a move to send Kemba away no matter what and they got a deal from OKC, they didn't even get a good pick or anything, they weren't really looking for any profit on this trade, only thing they cared about was sending him away. Weird move.
806  Economy / Economics / Re: Vietnam Becomes Latest Country to Turn to Crypto on: July 19, 2021, 06:21:21 PM
Well, before now a lot of people in Vietnam has already turned to cryptocurrency, and they have been making use of it for a very long time. What you have said about their government is nothing new at all, but it’s quite interesting these days that there are lots of people who are getting interested in Bitcoin, and there are also those that have chosen to declare it legal. That’s a progress for us as a community and let’s be looking forward to more of it.

There has also been countries where Bitcoin is banned and banks are restricted from working with anyone that is into cryptocurrency trading, so these has kind of made it difficult for a lot of people in those areas. I hope these things gets fixed.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 15, 2021, 07:47:33 PM
I still dislike this new system, not the extra sprint thing, I just do not like the way it is done and the points given and that's it. If you do qualifiers you are telling people to have a flying lap and in that case people like George Russel could show their talents, hell even Mick sometimes gets something so lower levels are actually looking like they could be doing something, of course when the real race starts all they get is blue flags as we all know but it's still quite fun to watch those qualifiers.

Those are still there so I am not worried, and racing for qualifiers is not a bad idea neither but I wish it was more like "let's see what your total time will be in 50 laps" type of thing instead of everyone racing, so instead of one fastest lap, you get fastest 50 laps instead, but people wouldn't be racing with each other, it would be like qualifiers where people get out one after another and do not usually get near each other, or have blue flags at worst, that way it's not a full race but still everyone does 50 laps and then you see who is fastest and who is slowest and decide the positions according to that instead of a race.

Secondly getting points for qualifiers? That's just not fair, you already have big teams getting most of the points, why give them even extra points on top of that? I would say that's the biggest problem with this, just remove the points and I would be fine with it.
808  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Signals in crypto on: July 15, 2021, 06:09:50 PM
There are no "legit" signal groups, there are groups that either scam others and totally fake, or there are ones that poses as "legit" and fail. At the end of the day signals are just indicators hitting the point that the owners of those groups decide and that's it, when those indicators hit their marks then group owners share it and that's it.
Absolutely true, no signal groups can perform consistently either if even they are true to their plan because if they were as good as they aspire, they would be trading themselves instead of selling signals at telegram.

Most of the signals groups can be classified into 4 types:

1- Outright Scams: The ones who take money, delete chat and block you.
2- Partial Scam: They don't intend to scam but the signals they provide are useless and random predictions more than anything else.
3- Neutral: Free groups giving out signals but obviously neither powerful nor useful nor accurate.
4- Positive: Hard to find such groups where some individuals actually put effort to at least provide news and based on that news, predict the price movement.

Signals in crypto are overrated and a trader who just relies on signals cannot succeed at all.
809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: buying crypto currencies and then travelling on: May 24, 2021, 07:16:08 PM
There are lots of ways that you can buy bitcoin and secure it and not have problems when next you want to access it. It is very much possible, it depends on the wallet you decide to make use of and as long as you have your seed stored safely you can always be able to access your wallet anytime you want.

And as for the government being anti cryptocurrency, that can’t really stop you from selling and buying cryptocurrencies, but if it’s not legal in your country then you have to be very careful the way that you’re dealing with crypto currency so that you don’t get into an any problem with the law in your country.
810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New meme coins 😂😂😂 on: May 13, 2021, 08:53:24 PM
Doge coin and shiba coin have opened door for weak devs who are just waiting for new opportunities to grab more money the easiest way possible, am I the only one seeing new incoming meme coins this days? I mean I don't want to mention names but they are growing in numbers 🤣🤣🤣🤣 want some advice? Be careful where you put your money meme coins are simply meme coins no more no less
It is very concerning how a new meme coin just climbed on top spots of the CMC within a few days. I am not going to invest in these new shit coins because they don't have a vision, a team to show themselves neither they do any kind of product working. All these coins rely on is hype and somehow they have managed to create so much hype that Binance was almost forced to list the coin at their exchange and I am sure even they don't know why there was so much pressure to list it.

A simple piece of advice to serious traders: Just invest in the product, not in the hype and not in what others are saying. If you understand a project and what they are aiming to achieve then go for it but just because everyone is buying something, don't fall for it.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Cricket Match-Fixing Scandal on: May 13, 2021, 08:35:07 PM
I think only football has had a fixing scandal. It turns out that this news opened my eyes if all matches were very likely to be arranged. Their network is so wide, many people are involved. I think gambling on the game is perfectly reasonable, but let it work its way. The owner of power is supposed to evaluate all match equipment. Maybe an oath and a salary more than enough to avoid this bit of cheating.

In my country there have been cases but in football. They set the score for the results of the match. After it was discovered that the perpetrators were punished, the players who became actors were not allowed to play in soccer for life.
Any sport where people can bet will have chances of rigging.
I even wonder if UFC is rigged at times because some of the decisions given by the judges are hilariously funny and concerning.

I remember a fight recently concluded where one judge had the fight 30-26 for one fighter and the other judge had it something like 30-27 for the other. I know a 29-28 can happen but how can two judges be so different on the same fight that one scores it as 30-27 and the other scored it as 30-26 for the opponent.
812  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa needs to fix continent, richest people are politicians on: May 13, 2021, 08:19:02 PM
Forget Dangote and the rest of the billionaires, the richest people in Africa are politicians. Africans need to reevaluate and rethink their system, so much power is given to the politicians and without any checks or balances. How can an ex-governor not be tried in court for his mischievous activities because there is a written document that said so who signed the documents is it the populace? They loot millions of dollars and stack them up for their families whereas the masses are suffering.
They even go as far as banning the trading of cryptocurrencies because they feel people might benefit from it. When the world is enjoying it. African needs to be taken to the hospital and given proper treatment because they are moving backward. More strength to their youth as many are still thriving in the harsh environment.
Yes, they really need to do something about their countries, or else their leaders are going to ruin them. Most of their leaders don't have their children living in Africa, all their children are living in developed countries such as Europe, and the United States,, so they act anyhow and don't care about Africa and the countries there. They are all greedy and once they go into power they want to pack the money that will feed their whole generation, and that's their only focus and not about making their countries a better place.

If the people don't wake up and put an end to this, then it's really going to be a big problem later in the future, because their evil leaders are using them. I know it's not going to be easy for people to take action, but they really need to. Although one thing I am worried about is that for such a change to occur, a lot of people are going to be paying the price.
813  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation speeds up in April as consumer prices leap 4.2%, fastest since 2008 on: May 13, 2021, 07:24:08 PM
Inflation hasn't been going up in just one place, it has also been happening in other places and my country has been one of the countries where this is a problem. A lot of things in the market that we used to buy for a token are now high in price, prices has seriously gone up, and the most annoying part of all these prices going up is that some companies still shrink the size of their products, I just don't get why they do such a thing, if they know they are going to shrink the price, isn't it best that they leave it at that same rice than inflating the price?

Then if they decide to increase to increase the price, they should leave it at same quality and quantity as it used to be. I hope that we are able to get out out from this big mess that we have landed ourselves.
814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for the next Doge! on: May 13, 2021, 06:43:53 PM
I've Been seeing a lot of hype behind DOGE coin and I still don't understand it.
You are missing a big story in that case, there is a guy Elon Musk who is also one of the richest man on earth who is actually pumping the coin Grin.

I guess DOGE coin has became considerably bigger than I would have ever dreamed. I remember when It first came out. I didn't understand the Meme or the humor behind it.
It was made to tip others and personally I used it to save transaction fees for my gambling earlier, I never see it as an investment even though the price is going binkers. Still, dogecoin is a classic example how an almost dead coin may peak and will enforce all of us to rush for it to consider for long term holding. Lots of my friend mined it before but sold for less than 30 satoshi also. This doesn't mean we must hold all coins for long duration but dogecoin says to us, anything is possible in crypto space.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time to invest in Polkadot? on: May 13, 2021, 04:38:51 PM
I haven't heard of polkadot before. I do not know what it is. but lately I have seen that it has many investors and interested people. I started searching.
its very strange, some one in crypto market but didnt know what actually polkadot is. maybe you need to explore more about crytpocurrency . polkadot was good blockchain and smart contract platform , every project that use polka chain now get attention from crypto market. another thing you could find in online sources.
You know, some people just read charts and invest in the coins flowing in the positive direction and one such guy I found in a group who was trying to explain to everyone that dogecoin will reach $1 but failed to explain how and when asked about DOT, he said what is that?

I mean polkadot is relatively new and market awareness is too low among investors hence this may not be a right time to invest with polkadot. We must give it time to sustain among all other cryptos and then we may finalize our financial decisions later on.
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins or Tokens with a good potential like SHIBA INU. on: May 12, 2021, 09:14:55 PM
People never learn, because one token happen to pump and give 500X in a short time do not mean another will do this, all these Meme coins are shit coins and we have been in this position before, is just that the scale his year is on another level and nothing goes up forever
It is kind of gambling now. You have a lot of balloons in the shop and you are asked to shoot one and it might pay off 100-200 times but it might also end up nothing. Similarly there are 1000s of new coins in the market daily and you can try your luck with any of them but the chances of predicting the correct one are second to zero.

Vitalik has now acted and an honorable act was included. There are a few more transactions today, but this one stands out as the strongest.
Wow this made me really emotional because we all know how much India is suffering through coronavirus right now and when a crypto creator like Vitalik donates money, it just feels really good. Well done, Mr Ethereum.
817  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID advanced the world into the future on: May 12, 2021, 08:35:48 PM
1. Small business are taking over and people are appreciating them more.
That is only for the short-term though because once things are back to normal, big industries will take over and people will again get back to their jobs. A lot of jobs were taken away during pandemic spread which has caused them to run their own small businesses.

2. People are getting more connected to their families.
Well yes, but I have heard news of people being stuck to their workplace and unable to see their family during these times as well, so I mean t works both ways and yes overall people are able to spend more time with family.
818  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: holding is not an easy thing on: May 12, 2021, 07:28:25 PM
for the rich, I think they can do that. however, I agree that when we hold assets in the long run, the first hurdle we face is the daily needs we have. however, it is very difficult to stop, and encourages us to sell our assets, even at low prices. What's worse is, when we sell the assets we have, the price goes up.
And this has happened with almost every one of us, I had some million doge coins and I sold them for dirt cheap prices and now I have nothing but regrets. Although I know that it might have actually turned into dirt and dogecoin might have finished by now if Elon didn't support it out of anywhere so I feel bad but I don't think I made any mistake selling them in past.

Holding requires you to have financial freedom which not everyone can afford and at some point, we are tempted to sell the coins even though there is a fear of missing massive value in future.
819  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptos VS Apple on: May 12, 2021, 07:03:30 PM
Apple is now a rotting Apple without the lead of Steve Jobs (RIP) as they really don't innovate as much with the new guy Tim Cook. All they have is a surplus of cash and the fact that they make high quality electronics. Other than that nothing hype going for them. Tesla is the new Apple if you ask me. Cryptos are in a different league than Apple they're all on a 24-7 market while Apple/Tesla are stuck in the 9:30-4pm market of old. I know FTX has added a token for both stocks to be traded there 24-7. If more exchanges add stock tokens then Apple would have more relevance.
It is true that the face value and innovations Steve was able to bring are not matched by his successor Tim but I was looking at the graph and Apple hasn't done badly at all. I mean crypto taking over doesn't necessarily tell that Apple is doing bad or declining although it might be, it only tells how the crypto industry has seen a gigantic growth especially with the involvement of Elon Musk into dogecoins and Bitcoins.

I always wonder whether the market cap is the true estimation because market cap is calculated by the price of the coin/token multiplied by the total supply but if seriously everyone decides to dump a particular coin or token then isn't it true that the market price of the coin will pummel and hence the market cap is just an illusion? I am only wondering and my concept about the market cap isn't crystal clear either.
820  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency, now a fast rising trend! on: May 12, 2021, 06:12:48 PM
(b) Most times, only the rich can get richer from trading. Sounds very controversial, but think of this, if two friends follow a signal and enter a trade, one with $50 and the other with $500. If everything works out well, both will be in gains, but the profit margin of both individuals will be different. This Illustration further supports the claim that only the rich can get richer from trading.
This is true and there is another way how rich are getting richer. People like Elon Musk can manipulate even a stable and deep market like dogecoin which is quite clear but although the motive is unknown, it tells us how rich people can play with the market at will.

There are people with humongous capital in the crypto market and they can short sell any asset to an extent where an average trader will panic and has no option but to sell them. Recently that's what happened with Game stop shares but the funny part was that the guy who spread the news managed to make people hold their shares and the value kept going up because in short selling you need to repay the tokens at some point and if holders sit tight, you are going to suffer.

I completely agree that the rich are getting richer be it either way, bigger investments or just plain manipulation of the market.
