2741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is helping to eradicate poverty in poor countries on: July 31, 2022, 07:04:45 PM
eradicate poverty in one country?
I think this is too much as we know bitcoin is not legal in every country, so how can it help eradicate poverty in one country,
but if it helps financial freedom for the poor can be said to be true,
The article only contains ads, not what you intended
You do not need to do it for ALL of the world, you need to do it for one, and if you do it for one then you are going to end up getting the attention of the others. Imagine a world where all the crypto lovers got together and helped El Salvador. I am not saying that our money would be enough, hell we raised 100 million only for Ukraine because they were at war, how much do you think we could invest into El Salvador as a whole?

But, a decentralized donation run by all the crypto people into the first ever nation that made bitcoin legal tender would send out a great message, and if they actually do well? Well, next stop will be another poor country and then another and suddenly we have dozen countries in our pocket making it legal tender. That's what we should want.
2742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's to make of the NFT craze in retrospect? on: July 31, 2022, 02:53:52 PM
I don't actually understand why they are buying it. Hype? Trend? Be popular? Especially that Dorsey tweet. I mean, why? Buy it for what purpose?
You really think it will be valuable in the next 10 - 20 years? Is he a hero for that to happen? He created a good social platform, okay but it ends there.
Maybe in the next decade or two he won't be remembered.
Same questions like. Who is the owner of Friendster, Myspace? What's the first shared thing in friendster? It is unknown and no one bothers to care anymore.  Grin
Things shared in the internet are temporary it won't last long.
NFT will stay for a different purpose though. A better one.
Basically, the idea of "being smarter than the scammer" idea. I have talked about this a million times, it is not about if the project is good or not, it is not about if it will sustain for many years neither, it is all about the fact that you could mint it early on, and selling for a lot more right afterwards and if you are right then you could make a lot of money, if you are wrong then you will lose money.

Definitely NFT collections these days do not have that potential but at some point it was so crazy that you would be spending 500 bucks on minting that was stolen from a template asset, and you could still get it to flip for 10x more than that right afterwards.
2743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Merge: The most anticipated upgrade on Ethereum blockchain on: July 30, 2022, 11:50:32 AM
Yes, it's great. I've been waiting for this upgrade for a long time. It's coming up in early August: the Goerli testnet merge. As soon as that is completed, the only thing left to merge is Mainnet on September 19th. It's time to get started. I am not sure if anyone noticed the ETH gas fees, which are pretty low at the moment. It's been a long time since I last saw ETH gas at such a low price! Anyway, the only thing I'm waiting for is when the merge will be complete.
Many people are actually waiting for this because they thought that this can also fix the problem in the eth fees. Another thing which excites us is that the previous upgrades are always being postponed or delayed but I hope that this one if for real now. The month of July is now ending already, so that means that the first phase of the upgrade are now going to start next week or so. Oh yeah, that's nice.

Thinks OP, this is the cause of the bull in crypto. That cant be. I don't think anything related to eth or other coins can contribute in the overall market but only bitcoin has the ability to do that. Btc showed an increase first last day, and that was the real one that makes the market a little bullish.
2744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is helping to eradicate poverty in poor countries on: July 30, 2022, 09:18:33 AM
The article is just a form of promotion of the author's project, not about bitcoin. Obviously, "eradicating poverty" is only part of a plan to achieve centralized crypto projects in order to attract as many communities as possible. Even though they talk about bitcoin, there is no attempt by any government to use bitcoin in order to eradicate their country's economic problems. In conclusion, bitcoin is not the solution in this case.
I wouldn't notice the link if I didn't read your post. It seems you are right because the link was about electroneum. Although they mentioned the word crypto but they still highlight their own project.

It's been a long time since I first hear them, thought they have died already but anyways, there are countries where bitcoin is adopted more than just an asset, El Salvador for example and there are now even bitcoin cities on them. That brings a lot of opportunities to the people there but maybe you are right that they didn't rely all to bitcoin. There are some problem which bitcoin cant solve but government should make an effort to bring solutions if they don't want their people to suffer.
2745  Economy / Economics / Re: EU countries agree deal to cut use of gas this winter on: July 30, 2022, 08:34:56 AM
The issue here that it is not just Europe that is paying the price. I checked the natural gas prices at various hubs. Dutch TTF prices are going at $2,300 per thousand cubic meters, while the LNG Japan/Korea marker is also near all-time high levels (~$1,500 per thousand cubic meters). Europe may be bearing a disproportionate impact of the oil/gas price rise, but other regions are also getting affected. Here in India, the government had to remove about half of the taxes on diesel and gasoline after the ruling party lost elections in some of the provinces. And already regime change has happened in some countries such as Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
When you can sell something for 2.5k to somewhere, even the places that had nothing to do with it can't go on to take it for 1.5k for too long, it would be not profitable to do it. Don't get me wrong, it could be less, but that would require for people who are taking advantage of this situation to stop doing that and sell it for a fair price when they know they can make more money.

Are you telling me that people who could make more money should just be fair and sell it for cheaper on the price it used to be? That's not how capitalism works and they can like it or not, Russia became capitalist the moment they stopped being USSR, hence they will do whatever they can to make a dime more if they can.
2746  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: July 30, 2022, 06:38:53 AM
I do understand that some of you might say that they signed the deal regarding the grain export but blah blah blah, honestly Russians are not letting that happen, they are even burning the crops as well which means that they are trying to pressurise the EU through stopping their grains exchange as well.

Some countries are still getting some oil imported from Russia because they are eventually going to get it from somewhere and other countries are not really increasing the exports of oil.
Not only oil but some precious metals and other stuffs can also be found on Russia. Wheat is also a type of grain right? And they say that wheat is also found in Russia. What a country. Now I know why the impact of the sanctions given to them is so huge that not only the nearby and neighboring countries are feeling the effect but also the rest of the countries are suffering as well.

Ukraine only has grains but I think that grains can also be found easily on many countries, most especially in the Asian part as many places there are not yet developed. Not a lot of big buildings around so there are more space to plant and grow a grain.
2747  Economy / Economics / Re: New scenario for cryptocurrencies next semester on: July 30, 2022, 05:40:26 AM
Bttzed03 is correct, it must be in a reputable exchange.
It's no different with an ICO, that's the only catch with this IEO. Instead of direct purchasing of tokens from the developers of the project they will use an exchange for investors to buy it.
So what will you check? Same old thing, the team, the utility, and future goals. Then, you add the exchange on where they will list it, it must have a reputation, accurate volume, and the crucial part in my opinion is history of successful IEO which also used the same exchange.
Investing with an IEO is much easier because people can just skip the other parts but will simply head on a trusted exchange. They think that a trusted exchange already did the job for them which is researching because a trusted exchange can't just list a poor quality project or a scam project as that can damage their reputation and people will think that they only care for the money so they will now start to avoid it.

Our only assurance before when investing in ICO or picking a bounty is to check the manager that manages it. If it's high rank and reputable because like I said earlier, they will also do their research carefully as they are also afraid for their reputation to get damaged.
2748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: July 30, 2022, 03:39:25 AM
Yes of course. High tension in El Classico not only occurs on the field but also off the field. We certainly know how the fans of both clubs will react to El Classico, to the players. And their arguments are very interesting to read, sometimes they become fun entertainment to fill spare time.
It is undeniable since the first, El Classico has become one of the most awaited moments of a football match. The winner of El Classico is often unexpected.
Indirectly, Lewandowski's presence there can evoke euphoria in El Clasico which has indeed decreased in recent years slightly when the absence of Ronaldo and the last Messi.
Lewandowski is one of the players with an astonishing goal productivity every year in the Bundesliga. On the other side, Benzema this season 2021/2022 won the top score in 2 big leagues, namely the Champions League and La Liga. This will definitely make El Clasico hot again.
Now surely after few years we are going to have some good rivalry in El Classico because this was not good without few star players and in coming season Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema both are going to have good contest as both will face each other and this heat is going to create more craze about this Spanish League and El Classico is going to be again on high tension.

Now we have to wait for the another positive output of this all can Robert Lewandowski do like he has done in Bundesliga for many years because this is completely different environment for him and many times things can't go in player's favor when they have change in league if he succeeded in this then surely El Classico is going to be more hot and entertaining.
2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: July 30, 2022, 03:11:56 AM
It is really very early to start the league in Turkey. Even in the north of the country, temperatures are very high and it is quite humid everywhere. It is too hard to play a decent game. Season could start at least 3 weeks later, in my opinion. Even Istanbul is too hot for even 21:45 games. And I agree with what you have written, no team seems ready now. We will probably see very unexpected results indeed. I don't expect much from the big three also. First 8-10 weeks will be quite unexpected. And big teams need more transfers now. But in this economic situation, it will be very hard for every team.
Yeah, right now things are not good for start of this season but sadly all leagues are going to have early start of this season due to Qatar world cup which is going to play in November and December, so they want to adjust their time as well which is also very important for them. I was watching few games which are happening in different countries and feeling it's still hot and players are feeling problem due to this all, but they have to settle this for this season and next season could be again on usual time and all will be able to have their best.

In last two seasons we have too many difficulties for many clubs even top ranked clubs are also suffering with economic situation and world is also suffering badly due to Russia, Ukraine conflict which is having big impact on all clubs hopefully we will be in better position in next season.
2750  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Futures Trading is not for everyone on: July 29, 2022, 10:30:42 PM
If you are a crypto trader using spot I advice you should stick with it till you become a professional trader, just because you start futures and win three rounds of short or long buys doesn't mean you are officially a pro trader....

I thought I was a pro coming from spot trading, I used 300$ which I planned to use to DCA into a project but a man can dream, my first attempt was successful, which net me 50$ and the second was 100$, the third round was 40$ and I close the trade for the day...

On the second day I lost everything, I now officially accept that I am far from been a pro trader, at least that's what I thought 🤔.
For some of us here who already have an experience, they still find it hard to understand everything in spot trading so it was surprising how a newbie can start in futures trading directly. It could be that they are smart for them to understand things easily? And what's more surprising is they manage to win three rounds or more but of course they are not pro yet but being a pro takes time and a lot of experience.

The moral that we can get on your own story op is don't be confident enough just because your previous attempts are successful and have gone smoothly because there will be times where we can get unlucky so always secure most of your profit and use only amounts which you can easily afford to lose.
2751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your most realistic ATH prediction for the next cycle? on: July 29, 2022, 10:20:42 PM
You’re prediction of 185K is fair and probably most of the member here will agree base on the recent price behavior of Bitcoin on previous cycle. The previous ATH before 69K is around 20K so bu doing an estimate growth, the multiplier of growth we looking for is more or less x3.5 of the ATH which means the next psychological target for new ATH will be above 100K and 200K mark. Price prediction above that range is already insane and not logical at all but who knows? We are all lunatics Bitcoin believer when we dream Bitcoin price will go above 20K when the price is less than a grand.  Cheesy
100k is a common prediction ever since so why not 185k? Once we are now at those levels, 200k or more is now going to be easier to achieve and will now be the new target by the people. Price prediction above
200k like for example 300 to 400k is still realistic in my opinion. In case you didn't know, we have a thread here last time which shows the price predictions of those so called experts.

If only you saw that you will say that those are the ones who are insane because some of their predictions can range to 500k up to 1 million u.s dollars. I didn't know if what are their basis on why they can say that because there are no extra information.
2752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 29, 2022, 09:59:21 PM
we are talking about the poor performances by the Pakistani bowlers in this test match but they were the same team with similar bowlers who won the first test match against Srilanka.
I think the batsmen were more responsible in this loss as they scored too low a total in the first innings which caused the pressure to pile up and affected their batting and bowling performances.
After winning first test match by big margin most of the players were overconfidence with this captaincy was also not good as suddenly Babar doing some blunders which were helpful for home team in first inning and fielding is also having troubles for them for years, but sadly they have never done any positive change in this department which is big dilemma for them and their selectors.

Sri Lankan's are good learners, and they settle their mistakes which help them, and they were able to fight back with now they have again third spot in League table if they are able to beat New Zealand then surely they could be on good spot which will help them for having good end in this test championship.

Now for reaching into last two, a hard target for Pakistan as they need to win all five matches which is not easy job because current England team is doing good job with red ball.
2753  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The right time to invest on: July 29, 2022, 09:48:50 PM
The right time to invest in crypto is always during the dip, and trust me that's best tactics some traders uses to purchase all these top coins that they miss out when they were pumping. But some still get the wrong part of it due to FOMO and buy during the pump and lose everything when the coin hits it's ATL. Definitely devastating to see such these days because the market is currently dump and experiencing Hugh losses like that doesn't really helps matter. The right and appropriate time to invest is during the bear period and hold and wait for the bull to click then you sell, isn't it simple?
The problem to some of us is that they are still greedy even if the market already moves in the opposite direction because they think the price was still high and they said to their selves that they need to wait for more dips or for that real bottom to come. This is why some can miss the best opportunity.

There are also people like that who buys at high but there are some who got lucky because the price continued to rise instead of falling down. They then sell their coins for some profit but if ever they still got greedy and waited for more then that's already their problem. Buy low sell high seems simple but the truth is not all have the patience to wait for a long time only to see a real pump before they sell.
2754  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the future of Bitcoin uncertain? on: July 29, 2022, 08:56:11 PM
What could be the state of Bitcoin in the future?

This is discussed all the time but I am asking this question because my elder brother said that after 2025 Bitcoin will not exist anymore and will be completely dead. He also said that after 2025 Bitcoin will not be mined so that Bitcoin will not be able to hold its own position.

So I would like to know from you how reasonable this statement is?
I know that there could be falls here and there on bitcoin, but the bottom we have seen here is the peak we saw in 2017 so it shouldn't be that shocking to think that bitcoin will go up over time. Like for example we will have a huge increase now after this drop, whatever the price becomes, 100k, 200k, don't know really but when we have another drop, it will be once again around 50k+ when it "drops", and that would be the key to our success.

If you buy at the top of a period, you will still be profitable on the bottom of the next. Just keep doing that and you will be making a huge amount of profit, only if you buy it.
2755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: July 29, 2022, 08:38:04 PM
Haha, so there are still people who compare the new season to the preseason games? Wake up, guys. The Chelsea team is much better than Arsenal and Tottenham. They competed for the league title last season until January, when they lost steam due to COVID19, and they finished the campaign as semifinalists in the Champions League and winners of two domestic cups runner-up medal. Chelsea is a force to be reckoned with; they want the league this season.
No, I don't compare new season with Chelsea's friendly games, I know for a fact that Chelsea won't be a contender this season, just like last season. They have no chance to finish the league in Top 3. I can make any bet for you that it's not gonna happen. Chelsea is not even a minor threat to Liverpool or Arsenal, let alone Manchester City. They are lucky if they can pass Tottenham to be honest. I don't call Manchester United and Chelsea as league title contenders at all. They are nowhere near same level as Manchester City, which is the obvious favorite again.
There is no doubt we are going to have tough competition for top rank and this is not easy game for any club right now Chelsea is having few issues in last season and right now they are still having same because change of management is having serious trouble for them with Tuchel is already complaining about this, but new management is still not giving required funds which are not good for team and their performance in the future.

They have few quality players but after watching preparation from other English clubs look like they are far behind and can face serious problems because in current season we have good work in transfer market by Tottenham and Arsenal which are tough challenger for them and can put them out of top four race.
2756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There will be 1 billion crypto users by 2030 - research on: July 29, 2022, 07:06:21 PM
I also believe that these numbers will be achieved soon because if we say about eight years period then we can imagine how much growth the crypto market would witness. At current we already have millions of users in this space but for me 1 billion users would be soon within few years only
The first crypto which was bitcoin came out on 2009 and then after that many cryptos have followed up, so to sum it up, cryptos are now running for 13 years but it shows that the total number of crypto users are only 300 million.

I am thinking that if we will hit another 13 yrs, only 300 million more are going to be added so that will be over 600 million in total, therefore I can't really agree with you or to the op that by 2030 we can have 1 billion crypto users. We can't just say that cryptos are now more popular so it will now be easy to be adopted. Let us not forget that many people have been scammed and they now hate cryptos, also there are countries which are still banning cryptos.
2757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rise of Streamers in Online Gambling on: July 29, 2022, 06:34:04 PM
There are actually quite a few streamers playing for their own money, but as my marketing experience. And I can also tell you that some streamers will have sponsors from online casino websites to invite them to play and make videos with free credits, and indirectly advertise it to attract subscribers and I am also happy to see it and indeed it will make people want to do it.
Maybe there are streamers which are sponsored and then after they have done their jobs, they will switch on their main account and gamble for real and maybe they have another streaming account only to stream their real game. While there are also streamers which don't have any sponsorship and only play using their own money.

It can be noticeable because their bankroll is not that big enough and also they are more careful with their moves. Seeing sponsored streamers play can entertain us not only because they are betting with bigger amounts and playing on a high risks games but also because of their awesome commentaries.
2758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallet demand increases in 2022 bear market as exchange scramble on: July 29, 2022, 05:09:15 PM
In fact many of the crypto users in my circle are the one who use a non custodial wallet.
It makes sense to use these wallets since these are better than centralized ones but if the amount of crypto is anywhere more than $1000,
then I think it is better to invest a few dollars in buying a hardware wallet instead.
It is a one time investment after all.
I mean sure if you want to, but I do not see the point of it. My entire savings are in 3 places right now, one is binance, the biggest one, second is metamask which is technically good and allows you to do easily what you would normally be able to do yourself anyway, and lastly a tiny bit in electrum, nothing big there though, it is very small and could be hacked today and I wouldn't care, it would be scary to know I am hacked, but not to know I lost that small amount.

So, I never had the feel to buy a ledger or a trezor or anything like that, metamask type of stuff are understandable, but that’s about it, I do not think that physical ones are really needed.
2759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi is not dead, what is he doing? on: July 29, 2022, 04:28:49 PM
<cut>
Wouldn’t you from time to time come back with another account, to make shure all goes the right way with the future development?
How exactly would he make sure that everything is going the right way in terms of Bitcoin development, even if he has an alt account here? No single entity has such power in a decentralized system that everybody contributes to, especially one that has many independent developers and thousands of independent nodes all across the globe.
The idea is that he doesn't have a centralized power to do anything, but he does have a huge huge huge influence. Hell even Elon has enough influence to change the prices a bit for some reason, have absolutely no clue why he does, but we can't deny that he does have that influence.

If Elon could say "Tesla sold all bitcoins it had" and drop the price, then I can assure that if Satoshi was alive or around, and he comes around and says "bitcoin failed my dream" or whatever, then we are going to see a much much bigger fall. Of course it is not going to happen because if he declined to talk so far, I have no reason to believe that he would do that now. Dude could have become the richest person alive, and didn't do anything about it.
2760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling in Moderation, Pros can out weigh its Cons in Financial and Health? on: July 29, 2022, 01:52:11 PM
Gambling makes you happy unless if you always winning in it , but if you're not a pro and your just basing your luck on daily basis then i don't think you will be happy and it will become your stress reliever after all. Lol many people are frustrated in gambling and that's the truth, wherein these perspective is clearly for those who have good experienced in gambling only not the majority of all people who use to gamble.
So you are saying that you feel happy when you lose? Or maybe you are saying that you feel happy when you are entertained. For the rest of us, what can truly make us feel happy is when we win huge in gambling. We won't stop till we get it but if ever we got busted then fine we can still accept it.

You do not need to be a pro if your only goal to gamble is to relieve stress and you don't need a luck either but both of that are only required if you are playing for a profit. The only reason why people are frustrated in gambling is because of their expectations that most of the times cant be met but only if they learn to lower it then they can feel a lot better.
