1981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 02, 2023, 06:20:07 PM
If not for Jofra Archer, England would have lost the match by a big margin. None of the other bowlers were able to trouble the South African batsmen, but Archer was regularly chipping England away with his raw pace. But it needs to be seen whether he can take heavy workload. T20I/ODI matches won't be a problem, but IMO ECB should wait a bit more before reintroducing him to the test format. That said, sometimes I wonder what would have happened in case Archer continued with West Indies rather than moving to England. If players regularly migrate from the smaller boards such as West Indies and South Africa to stronger boards such as England and New Zealand, it will have a detrimental impact on the balance of power in cricket.
No doubt this was Jofra Archer Heroics which helps England to safe their face from whitewash in this series even their batting was at his best, but sadly things are not favouring them for having positive results after amazing end of this ODI series which give good hopes for the direct entry to South Africa into ODI world cup2023.

Even after having 346 this was not easy task to achieve but Jofra Archer done good job after his comeback and give them good win having back to back 340+ runs is also amazing stuff from English team, but their bowling was not good enough which needs some improvement in coming days for to defend of title in ODI World Cup 2023 in India Buttler and Malan done good job in this last ODI for the England, and they were able to have big score even after losing early wickets.
1982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 02, 2023, 05:13:36 PM
I honestly feel like a lot of cricket boards are genuinely not very serious about test cricket right now because honestly, test cricket is going to die very soon. That's why I think Pakistan is actually not very serious about it. On the other hand, if Pakistan is actually serious about it, I do not think that they are doing a good job.

You are absolutely right, only being dependent on one bowler for the test format is absolutely not a good idea at all. And I think not only in the test format, Pakistan depends on certain players in almost all formats of cricket. If they are not performing well, Pakistan is losing.

Some serious changes need to be made in cricket. Otherwise, it is very true that cricket will eventually die. And they have to change the funding based on the revenue.
Right now we have only three countries those are interested in test format, and they are Australia, England and India because they have good domestic set up and all resources which are helpful for having good check and balance in this format others are suffering due to finances and other domestic issues which is the biggest concern right now with this now time to give up about ODI and just depend on test and T20 which will be more beneficial and having better chance of development.

ODI is also having no chance to grow up, so now we need to give all intention to t20 which is future and right now we can bring 16 to 20 good teams which will provide good entertainment, and we will have better revenue as well and then Olympics is also needed good intention which will give more exposure to this game in many countries but if ICC wants to have better results in test then surely needs to have good strategy for this as well which is important for the better future.
1983  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will 2023 be another up year for Bitcoin? on: February 02, 2023, 04:40:03 PM
The price has gone up more than 40% when compared to the end of the year and makes us worthy of expecting a lot in 2023, we must forget the dark story in 2022 and prepare to welcome the New ATH this year
For those who experienced similar dark stories in 2014 and 2018, last year must be just another year and nothing to remember about that which may impact the future. Similarly, you might need to wait till 2025 to see a new ATH as no bull trend is stronger enough to sustain and to take bitcoin market into a new ATH immediately. We need to face another shorter bear conditions by the middle of this year as this year is usually to be a sideways market in the bitcoin's four year long market cycles.

the market will immediately rise and make us regret if we sell at a cheap price.
Bitcoin market is known for that kind because in long run bitcoin is usually keep raising hence every seller will regret after certain time frame. For example, people who sold in 2021 around $65k might be proud of their decisions but if they do not buy back now then will definitely regret by the beginning of 2025 when bitcoin will be testing new ATH.
1984  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: February 02, 2023, 03:41:32 PM
No one knows the bottom from the top, so whatever that it is comfortable for your you buy in, is ok.
This must be an exact scenario of every market because no one could predict the accurate reversal point of a market. The only thing we could do again market volatility is, keep buying at regular interval. That is the only thing, everyone must need to follow as of now and must continue regardless of bulls or bears dominate in coming days. Bitcoin is a fundamentally proven asset and keep doing DCA will help for anyone at every market condition in long term.

Bitcoin has been positive for more than 30 days and it may continue to remain positive for another 30 days and if you are a short term planner then you could trade with the strict stop-loss in this bull conditions because usually bull market is profitable for all traders.
1985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My greatest fear about Bitcoin Halving. on: February 02, 2023, 05:12:50 AM
Bitcoin halving is characterised by price boom and this is a general believe of some bitcoiners and members of this forum.
My greatest fear is; what if 2024 halving comes and go without any kind of bull run? Don't you think that there will be a serious problem and panic in the industry?
This is because 2024 halving is the greatest available hype that can move the market. Besides that, I don't see any possible wave that can move Bitcoin to a new ATH. Unless US government will have to make BTC a legal tender.
Miners will not lose interest because we would still be paying a good amount of money for it. If you think that miners are only mining because they like to get the rewards from bitcoin itself, you are very much wrong. They are mining for the fee already, that is why ETH got higher fee a year and a half ago, because they didn't want just the miners reward, they wanted higher fee to work, same goes for bitcoin.

It may look like they are not getting much individually from us right now, but collectively they are still getting a ton of returns. Plus, it is not going to be that hard to see most of them close shop, so the lesser amount of miners left will get bigger share.
1986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you stacking up on? on: February 01, 2023, 06:20:55 PM
Successful investing relies on maintaining a diversified portfolio. A large portion of your holdings should be in trusted cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, but you shouldn't ignore the upside of investing in promising new initiatives. Striking a balance between the two is essential before making any financial commitments.

There are a few things to bear in mind while doing preliminary research for brand new endeavors. Examine the project's team first to get a sense of who will be working on it. How seasoned are they, and how well-liked are they among their peers? Second, think about the challenges that really exist in the world and whether or not the technology that the project uses may help. Finally, you should think about the project's potential success in the face of other offerings. Is there a genuine need for the project's proposed solution?

Investing in new ventures and initiatives requires diligence if you want to locate the ones with the highest return potential. While it's true that there's always the chance of losing money when trading or investing in cryptocurrencies, the right amount of preparation and study may help you reduce your exposure to risk and make educated choices.
I agree that we should be able to focus on making as much as we can from the investments that we have, otherwise it would not make any sense at all to keep on going as they want. We shouldn't be really focusing on how much we can make, because that is the result and the result will come by itself if you take the right path.

So that means we should be learning and studying the path there, and in order to do that we need to build ourselves a strategy that would align with our personal character as well. If we can do that then we are going to make a good amount of profit from it for sure, it is going to end up being something that is good for all of us.
1987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots on: February 01, 2023, 05:40:43 PM
As long as coin holders share custody with Centralised exchanges, the exchange's carelessness and insecurity will be everyone's problem, especially when the team behind the exchange is fraudulent as well. The ability to set up trade orders and P2P trade on decentralized exchanges could reduce the use of CEX, as there are currently no decentralized exchanges that offer such services. DEX needs to keep improving its use and trading since they seem more secure
DEX does need to keep on improving, but that doesn't mean that CEX will stop, the more DEX world improves, the more CEX world will have something that DEX doesn't have. This is why it's very important that they fight on the ideology part and not just the tech part.

If they keep fighting at the innovation and tech part of the situation, they are going to stay behind and not make any money at all and it will be something sad to watch, but if they go out and talk about how they are decentralized and they can't be hacked into because they are not keeping anyone's money in a centralization location, that alone would get enough people to make it very good to use.
1988  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: February 01, 2023, 04:52:04 PM
Not many people even saw the big difference in the idea. "Trading" bitcoin, but somehow it's investing into stocks. If you said trading bitcoin or trading stocks, I would understand, if you said investing into bitcoin and investing in the stock market, I would understand. But why trading bitcoin yet investing into stocks? That's not just words, that is a totally different thing.

If you invest into bitcoin, as in buy and hold for a long time, then you will make more profit than investing into bitcoin, but if you invest into stocks yet trade bitcoin then it depends on how well you can trade it, if you are good then yeah, if not then it is better to invest into stocks.
That's true, if we would be investing into bitcoin, then that would be better than investing in stocks, but this is trading discussions section so I am going to talk about trading bitcoin or trading stocks. If you are someone who buys and sell stocks quickly, like a short term trader in the stock world, the amount of expenses that requires will be huge.

Buying and selling stocks causes a lot more money than what it does with bitcoin, whereas trading bitcoin could be great because even 0.25% profit could end up being profitable due to trading fee, depends on where you trade of course. That is why it's important to realize what you want to do, and what you want to achieve.
1989  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Success in futures trading after long wait. on: February 01, 2023, 03:19:22 PM
I continued to liquidation there without giving up. At one point while adding liquidation my total balance became very high and liquidation also came down and loss went to high level. The bloody year 2022 ends and in 2023 the market is slowly pumping and all my losses are recovered and I see profit.
Please do not try to set wrong example by these things. The first mistake you have done was opting for futures trading, but high risk people do go for it and this is absolutely a personal preference still I do consider this as a newbie mistake in cryptotrading ecosystem. The second one is, keep waiting in futures trading; a highly contradicting and must be a blunder one considering its high risk level.

I'd never see a mistake of what OP did, it actually happens when something bad happens in the market like the FTX issue which affects crypto prices.
No, luck favoured hence got chances to escape; just imagine a situation about getting liquidated even after adding $2000 to avoid liquidation. So, early stoploss is always recommended and buying back when market recovering (after bottomed) might have got them better profits than this.
1990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 01, 2023, 08:46:56 AM
LOL! Grin What is happening with Pakistani Cricket? Especially what is going through N Shethis's mind? An online cricket coach is not something I have heard in the past and neither I would like to hear in the present. Cricket is not an online classroom it is a physical brain where you need to use your body more than your mind. If this is the situation in Pakistan cricket then I doubt they will be able to organize PSL. If they do then I doubt they will be able to their payments. What a Shit Show PCB would be going to display when PSL starts can be easily imagined by their online viewers? Shocked
Even things are not clear about this posting but still you are not understanding this rightly because Mickey Arthur is already busy with this contract as sporting head of Derbyshire, and he doesn't want to end this just because of this now he is not the coach of the Pakistan team his job is just as consultant, and they will hire few other peoples as well because Saqlain Mushtaq is already going after completing his assignment as Pakistan head coach, and he rejected to do job as his replacement.

But, few things are fascinating because after Covid-19 era things are completely changed around the globe, and we have mostly workout with online option which is not bad and hopefully soon we will have completely changes in this all system and mostly teams and clubs will be able to have services of online coaches and trainers which will increase their performance. For more details, you can check here all details available about this: https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/mickey-arthur-set-to-be-appointed-pakistan-team-director-1356583
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 01, 2023, 06:19:05 AM
My proposal is to divide the test and associate nations, based on their performance. Each tier receives a proportionate amount of ICC funds.

Tier 1: IND, AUS, NZL, ENG and PAK
Tier 2: SL, WI, BAN, RSA and AFG
Tier 3: IRE, ZIM, SCO, NAM, NED
Tier 4: NEP, UAE, OMN, PNG, CAN
Tier 5: HK, USA, QAT, JER, UGA
I am in favour of tier system specially while it works based on performance which is based for every cycle because this will encourage teams to enhance their performance and having healthy competition and also given good shape to this game but here we need all settlements on every format like we need to have 24 to 30 teams in T20i and then 12 to 16 in ODI but just 8 for the Test format because now it's not beneficial for them many countries and also creating burden on their system, so now it's all on ICC to reduce their burden and just allow few countries for this format with having more activity in other formats.

Here again we need to work on few things which are more important like allow native players or players with having parents from this country as we have rules for the FIFA and Olympics because this will also increase native players to bring more players instead of having players from subcontinent for their teams which is unfair for this game.
1992  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area on: January 31, 2023, 08:25:01 PM
We also need to develop a good management skill to be able to make effective utilization of the little resources we have into something big, this will help us towards avoiding excessive wastage, damage and gives give maximizing potentials to the resources within our capacity, many have failed alot in many areas of life all because they couldn't developed a good management responsibility in life, they miss out alot of opportunities at the cause blaming the situations around the economy and this is not really a location base factors, we can achieve to any lent in life irrespective of where we are only if we are determined to.
Resource management is hard because if you calculate just "things", then it will become easier, but if you are talking about man hours as well then it becomes very hard. I am one of those people who does a job in 8 hours when it can be done in 4, because it takes me too long to make sure I did the right thing.

Like for example, I write something, then go back and read it twice each time, rarely some days I don't and I warn my boss to check it, because, I want to make sure. If I removed that, and just wrote and never looked back, I could finish in 4 hours, and write for another 4 hours and make more. So man hours is a lot harder, it's really tough.
1993  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rise described as false bull on: January 31, 2023, 07:11:40 PM
So far the movement of Bitcoin is still very good and is still in a small bull market, we believe this is not a trap from a bull market, until now the price of Bitcoin is in the area of $ 22.8k, making us happy by ending the month of January above $ 20k and above , The price of Bitcoin at the moment gives good news for longtime holders who fully trust, those who buy in the $ 16k price range I think the current state of the market and being at the current Graphic point is still profitable for them.

The target of people investing is of course studying the market charts and waiting for a decline to buy, they will continue to hold back until they see the movement of the Bitcoin price chart touching a higher value, those who had bought below the Bitcoin price which was $20k-$16k yesterday, of course this still giving profit on the selling, we think bull's movement will continue although only sloping with small bulls.
we say this is a small bull market and not a bull market trap, the movement of the Bitcoin Chart will continue as it is, it does not always go down and it does not go up all the time, we take advantage of this good situation to hold Bitcoin.
I think it will definitely be something that gives everyone some hope, it's not going to be easy, but it's going to be something that will take just a bit of time. I know that it's going to be a bit of a decent situation where I think it will take a bit of a time, but it's going to end up with a good amount of profit in the long run. I think small bulls do not matter because it's going to be pretty wild and pretty entertaining and pretty good.

I just think that we could end up with something that could be pretty good, it's just about the fact that we need to do something much better, and for that to work we need to just wait and hold so that we can profit when it goes up, if not then we had whole 2022 like that so it's fine.
1994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 12,000 in 2023. on: January 31, 2023, 06:48:02 PM
It seems to me that bitcoin is in bad demand right now. You can see that in the volume of purchases. It looks more like a dead cat bounce to me. I don't know if we will see 12k for bitcoin, but the price could easily fall again. So far, nothing has changed positively in the world and inflation has not gone anywhere.
Dead cat bounce? Are you kidding me it has passed over 23k, that means it's going up a lot more than just a dead cat bounce. That would have been true maybe like 20% ago, but now we are too high. Even if it doesn't end up going to 30k or 50k or whatever, it has gone up a lot to call this a dead cat bounce, it's beyond that already.

It's start of a bull run, there is no guarantee that this bull run will go on, it's only a possibility that we are going to end up with something much clearer and I think it's going to be at a point where it will make sure that we are going down at a great path to this. I think just keep holding and making profit will prove you wrong.
1995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan was a major early investor in Ethereum? on: January 31, 2023, 05:56:19 PM
Reason #1001 why I only invest in bitcoin. Everything else is a copycat scam token.
I would say there will always be some people who will find hatred, and for some reason they enjoy that, and I do not get why. There are so many people out there who hate stuff that has nothing to do with them as well, like why are you angry at something that doesn't even matter to you. In this regard, if you really want to invest into ETH and won't because of this, then just avoid it and move on.

JP Morgan did invested into crypto as a whole a few years back, I wouldn't be shocked to learn they got some ETH too considering it's the second biggest coin, but if that makes you not want to invest, then I fear to say that they have billions in bitcoin as well, and they could sell at any moment.
1996  Economy / Economics / Re: The Economist: 335000 people could "freeze to death" in Europe on: January 30, 2023, 08:55:59 PM
since that I am Canadian.   who are these 13,000 people that are dying from the cold in my country?  those homeless that pretty much never seem to die from weather anymore?   13,000 dead people from cold in canada would be all over the headlines.

since i think that numbers false the USA number is prob just as false.
Maybe they raised the number for Canada as it wouldn't seem such harsh contrast against their own death count.
And as a Finnish guy i understand that Canada is pretty well prepared for cold weather as well so those numbers don't make much sense.
We know it's not just about electricity, it's about isolation of buildings, quadruple-glazed windows and clothing etc.

When one has been fighting cold all of their lives they are pretty well prepared even with some blackouts and super low temperatures.
I agree, homeless people are harder to die because they end up getting ready for the worst possible thing, and I do not believe that freeze to death is really a realistic thing in todays world. Like seriously, unless you are in wilderness, just go to a coffee house, even if you do not buy anything, it's better to stay there for an hour instead of dying, and then if they ask you to leave, you will leave.

The idea that people will die from it makes no sense to me, it's probably calculating what we have seen so far, and how it will go under that and it should cause this, but they do not take into consideration what people do when it gets worse, they expect people to do nothing about it and just die?
1997  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has someone tried to use ChatGPT to help in trading? on: January 30, 2023, 08:48:40 PM
I tried asking something along the lines of your question and it returned me the same result. Honestly, props to the creators of ChatGPT because they don't try to milk the popularity of their AI. They are blunt with the limits of its technology and does educate the user as to why it's not advisable to let someone decide for your financial moves. There are some specialized AIs that can predict prices for stocks within the next few minutes, and an hour at most. They use this highly in stock trading and is constantly being updated to match with the current scenario in the stock market. Perhaps, if these AIs go public, people can use this and try whether what information it gives out is useful or not.
That is both for their moral reasons I am sure, but it is also because of legal reasons. Can you imagine if chatgpt gave financial advice? That would mean that if you end up following what it says and you lose money, there is a good chance you could sue them and if they allowed such a feature that means millions may have done it and millions would sue. They wouldn't want a headache like that, I am certain that they wanted to just be okay with it and they just wanted to keep it going.

This way they would be able to get rid of any potential bad lawsuits coming their way. I am sure they also wanted to avoid that for moral reasons too, but that wasn't the first reason for sure, it was legal reasons first.
1998  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How bitcoin supply can be more than 21 million on: January 29, 2023, 10:21:04 AM
This is why I always thought leverage trading is a scam since you're not actually trade with the real coin, but you're trading with the underlying asset created by the exchange. Leverage trading can trick anyone with false understanding like this one, not to mention there's a rules you need to understand and each exchange differ from the other. If you want to get a real experience to trade Bitcoin, you can use P2P platform e.g. localcryptos, hodl hodl.
I think this was already explained by some exchanges (if not all) before they implement such feature. This can be included in one of the rules or mechanics on how this game worked, so I wouldn't call it a scam. It only becomes a scam if the exchange itself is also a scam.

But, if it's true that rules for leverage trading differs from one exchange to the other then this might be (one of) the reason on why many traders are losing because they didn't bother checking the rules thinking all of them are still the same. Other than p2p, spot trading will also allows you to experience on what is like to trade a real crypto plus they are also less risky than leverage trading.
1999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 28, 2023, 01:09:30 PM
After whitewash in the ODI series, it can certainly be a little worry for India when they defeated by New Zealand  in the T20I match. The criticism can also arise about the performance of the T20 team members. Although losing a match is reasonable . India maybe lost the match in the last two overs. New Zealand scored 17 runs in the 19th over and 11 in the 20th over, 28 runs in these two overs helped New Zealand score big. India lost the match by just 21 runs.
You need to check again all details about this match because Arshdeep Singh concede 27 runs in last over which was hit by Daryl Michael and these runs were the turning point for the match with their top order also fail to have better start and lost wickets very quickly.

Here we have to praise Santner who is the best white ball bowler for them in recent times because his figures were also amazing specially while he bowls sixth over maiden against Surya Kumar, and then we have another maiden over in last few overs which give big setback to Indian batting which was struggling badly and have no one to hold them for having good end of this match but as two matches remaining, and they will fight back good as they have hobby of giving good fights after defeat at home.
2000  Economy / Economics / Re: In your country, today is money the real root of all evil? on: January 27, 2023, 08:52:52 PM
I think the desire for the people to do crimes only to earn much money have been increasing overtime especially on poorer countries. Gold came first than money so yes it was the first to be the root of all evil but even up until now, people are still greedy about it because the rates of it are much higher than fiats. We shouldn't be jealous about those rich people.

They can spend their money all what they want because they also work hard to earn it. It's not their fault on why we are poor but it can be the fault of our ancestors, yet we shouldn't heavily blame them. We still can do something in order to improve our lives but it must be done in a legal way.
I do not think that it is true for "every" nation. Even though there are plenty of nations with corruption, we could say that there are some nations who have managed to successfully put law above all the powerful people. Meaning, even if the president of that nation, usually called the most powerful person, could still get punished if they do not follow the law and with a few examples in the past, they managed to beat the corruption.

This is why I believe that they did not caused any trouble further along and they just managed to keep money not being an issue. Because if you can't be corrupt, then why would you rule a nation badly? You might as well do a good job and actually help people because you can't just profit yourself.
