Price is looking very good today hope coin will be worth lots more.

Because the coin is exact snapshot of bitcoin will the snapshot coins be burned?
I imagine this will push the price close to a btc for 1 BTX

Any ideas?

where do you think the free coins are coming from ?

Stevebc

What do you mean by schemes toward senior members only encourage people to spam? Are you implying that all I'm doing is spamming and not bringing up a cogent point?

Not at all! I'm agreeing with you that the way some coins using Senior Member as a criteria for a reward results is a bad idea.  All it does is encourage people to make accounts and posting hundreds of times simply to be eligible for those rewards.

you could  limit it to users who have been a member for x months AS WELL AS ranking/posts
but actually a sliding % will be beter based on bitcoins or BTX held in 1 address
need to encourage the whales not to use multiple addreses or the coin will fail

largest ICO means each token will have less value. Just think what's the total market cap can be for this one? uncapped ICO is a joke to me.

but Lambos for everyone at tezos man !
even the janitor gets a lambo.. Cheesy

I've seen on blockexporer that now there is also the feature "largest wallets". Would it not be possible, in case you want to keep the top 1000 airdrop, to refer it to the wallets instead of the addresses? It is true that whales could split coins also between wallets, but at least they'd need one computer per wallet, and I doubt that anyone here qwns 100 computers  Wink

Perhaps I'm wrong but they only need 100 virtual machines or simply change wallet.dat file every time they start bitcore... doesn't it?

yes ,it would be possible to cheat in most cases
thats why the best argument is make it beneficial for a whale to keep all his coins in 1 address
and only take up 1 place from the top 1000
giving extra small %  incentive would stop people from wanting to split their balance up among lots of wallets
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 05, 2017, 11:32:01 AM
As i understood, 7th dealing out will take place soon. I wonder how many in total will be made and if we joined once with an address already, can we participate again with the same address. Little information will be appreciated. And one last question... Is Blackbyte going to be in a market soon? After all, this would be the real progress for the developement of the project as being added on a market is the best marketing you can do.

same address will be fine ,no need to change it
it would be good to get onto some  big exchanges
bittrex isnt really puting us on the map compared to the likes of polo ,bitfinex or the big 3 in china

The great part about no cap is that everyone is getting in for a similar price.   When it goes on the market, no one will have a ton of free coins to dump or others who got huge amounts for a fraction of a penny.   Who cares about the no cap.   If they are at 200,000,000 now, that would make the marketcap a just above 200 million.  So?  After it picks up steam and hits 1 or 2 billion marketcap,  thats 10x!   Come on, think this one through.   The biggest problem is the coins you have to lock up for undetermined amount of time to invest,  could be a good choice or a horrible one.     we will see.

I'm not saying invest,  I'm just saying stop complaining.  20,000 wallets have been created, thats great.   This isn't 4 whales with a huge stack who are going to dump it all over you.

Yes.  I purchased.

100% of the tokens are not being distributed at the ico iirc

Sorry for being paranoid.Please answer
Signatures are part of Bitcoin. Short answer: it's safe.
If you think it can be cracked, this address holds 53,880.0574758 BTC ($140 million) and has signed this message.

Aha, you found my change address
I had forgotten about that one....  Wink
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 04, 2017, 08:37:19 AM
You know what is the pun
Poland used to be a wealthy country but when the Jews were thrown to the camps/out from Poland, it crashed economically and now it is in the level of a third world country.

Oh wow. Associating jews with money and wealth is the climax of anti-jew stereotypes. Don't you know that TrueReactionnaire ?
What's next ? Jews are bankers and a fifth column ?

These antisemitic rhetoric have to stop. Why you no learn lessons from history  Huh

It is not antisemitism to say that the Jews are associated with money.
While there are some "Milkman Tevjes", they are very exceptional cases. The majority of Jews are highly successful people and they have significiant wealth (at least in my country, I do not know if it has a lot to do with the smallness of the community but that seems to be the case).

Many Jews are involved with banking and finances. Bear in mind, we probably would live in the middle ages still if we hadn't functioning banking system.

Bear in mind that it is Gemara that says that the righteous people consider money more valuable than their body (Sotah 12a). Of course we can make a whole shiur on this what that does mean and it has several perspectives.

---

But now back to speculation: Monero will go down and fall into oblivion, but it will not happen over night. Bear in mind, Monero is not "get poor quick" -scheme.

Some people will disagree with you on that one but I'm personally not sure
Someone told me years ago "If you want to find out if the guy  drinking beside you at a bar is a jew you need to drop some money off the bar "accidentally"... If he's a jew it will land on the back of his neck because he will be faster going to get it than gravity  Grin
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: July 04, 2017, 07:42:33 AM
this will eat some eth cake

There is no way this will overtake 3 years of ethereum development and partnerships with fortune 500 companies....
Some people will probably be looking for the exits as soon as it hits exchanges..... To get the level of development and industry acceptance where eth is at now will not just come by magic after they launch the token

Why not? So neither AEternity or EOS will overtake or compete just because ethereum was the first Smart Contract platform? What kind of stupid logic is that, that's like saying that alts will never overtake bitcoin when alts are up  6000% in a few months. Ethereum almost overtake bitcoin in terms of market cap .

bitcoin is the king of crypto  and ETH is the queen
if you think some hyped up shitcoin is going is overtake  either off them please hold my drink for a minute while i laugh at you  Wink

there is no need to give bigger addresses more %
because there is no incentive to split coins there will be no competition to enter the top 1000

There is no incentive to stack them either. If a whale has 20 addresses already in Top 1000 why stack them?

Might as well keep them like this and stop other people from getting the airdrop.

A slight increase in percentage for higher balances solves that
Not really, if its a small % increase.  If it was large it may be worth it.

2.5% is already a small bonus, hopefully this will be adjusted soon because it's 8 x times less reward  than the last +10 reward for people with around ~50BTX

233  Economy / Speculation / Re: price after segwit? on: July 04, 2017, 05:38:31 AM
The price will double overnight once we have segwit and 2 MB BLOCKS..... You would  be crazy to dump any bitcoins when we are just weeks away

If there is a big block chain and a small block chain you will have a coin on both and you will be able to sell one and buy more of the other if you are quick

I'll be moving to the big blocks chain  myself with all the miners but there maybe some of you who prefer to stay on  a 1mb chain with Luke and that's fine too...

We all gets what we want....  Grin
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell Bitcoin ahead of 1st Aug Hard Fork on: July 04, 2017, 05:20:58 AM
Only an idiot would sell now, the price is likely to double as soon as we get segwit2x...
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: July 04, 2017, 05:14:45 AM
The fact that this ico has no cap has made me decide not to participate. Looking at the huge amount of money that tezos has collected i am happy i didnt. There is no argumentation to why such a large amount of money is needed besides greed. Be prepared to hodl long if you participate!

How much did eth collect?
I think it was 5 or 15mil

Anyway, this product is supposed to be already finalized according to the founder lady, that's an awful lot of cash for a shitcoin that's more or less already developed....

Even their junior team members will be driving lambos lol

In my opinion, the only 'fair' solution (if you really want to stick to that 1000 top holders thing) would be to have some kind of a variable percentage paid to the top 1000.
For example (don't nail me down on the numbers, just an example):

Top 1-100 gets 3%
Top 101-201 gets 2.9%
Top 301-401 gets 2.8%
...

That way you would force ppl to stack their coins in one address to get the highest possible reward, leaving room for other ppl to join the Top 1000. Of course some extremely rich a$$hole could still split his coins, just to pi$$ off ppl, but that would be just idiotic...

actually ,you only want 1 rich guy to take up 1 place on the list
if he owns enough coins to split them he will claim for 539 addresses  as we have just saw in last airdrop

the end result will be 4-5 whales dump in november and the coin just  dies like many others because there is no userbase
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 03, 2017, 07:13:53 PM
can you link more than one btc address? my electrum wallet has balances split between a few addresses.

yes ,as many as you like

or you can consolidate all your balances to 1 address if you wish

hashrate is dropping like a stone. From over 17GH/s to now around 5.6GH/s. Since the diff is over 730 and difficulty recalculation only happens every 2000 blocks or so, block times are very high now.
This also leads to way less coins miners can earn, and most likely more will stop mining, meaning the block times will rise even higher.
I bet big miners will join back in when the difficulty has been adjusted again.

As for the airdrops: Sorry, but this round was a complete joke. Even worse than the first one.
Again, it was highly abused, and seeing at least two wallets with over 100 addresses in the top 1000 clearly shows that the airdrops are gamed by a few.
Most coins in the hands of a few makes the possibility of a dump much higher...

this is the best and only solution i can see working to stop whales claiming for 100's of addresses
just give them an incentive to stack all their coins in 1 address and that leaves the other 999 addreses free for normal users

its better to give them 1% extra  than have them taking up 100-500 spaces from the top 1K per whale so normal people can still get something ...
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: ...was that the dip ... now the bubble on: July 03, 2017, 06:53:16 PM
I just noticed about unconfirmed transactions and fees, it seems that the fees suddenly increase from BTC1 for 12K unconfirmed transaction to BTC3 for 11K UT right now. Don't know how could it happen but some global exchanges shows bitcoin price increases as well, maybe bitcoin rally has been started since today because of segwit activation in the next month, hopefully it could break $3000 again.

segwit2x is going to roll forward in advance of bip148 so i wouldnt be surprised if we see a bullmarket in anticipation of 2mb blocks +segwit
