I honestly can't wait until the Great Hard Forkening finally happens, because when it does the Sell-off wars between Unlimited & Core will cause both Bitcoin versions to drop back into the low hundreds for a little while.

There won't be a great hard forkening, both sides are not stupid enough to risk it unless they have significant majority because btc can't just fork like eth because of  it's design.... The minority  chain wouldn't be able to function properly at the outrageous difficulty it would have to mine at...
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: May 09, 2017, 01:05:42 AM
ETC == ETH is going to crash so hard as ETC rises Wink lmfao

lets keep it real gentlemen
Etherum is Vitalik's baby .he is literally  the brains of the operation
all the fortune 500 companies are supporting  his version ,whether it forked or not is beside the point now and not worth arguing over

I am not saying by any means that ETC has a value of zero #
but i will be realistic and say when they eventually find a good usecase for it and some adoption ,it will be worth at the very max 1/3rd of the real ethereum ........and thats a generous and optomistic  estimate considering its worth about  1/13th now but i hope they both do well and everyone here gets rich/richER............ Cool
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: May 08, 2017, 01:06:13 PM
Crazy Year so far for Eth and all the altcoins, maybe 100 billion total marketcap by end of summer for all coins.

Yeah, banks will pour billions into every established centralized altcoin, so that people get distracted from the decentralized ones. Its okay. If banks give you free money get them! But take care, don't be the bagholder!

I hope banks will give me free money and push the ETH to $10,000.

That might happen too. If bitcoin gets to $1,000,000 banks could get so scared that they might try to push the ETHf to $10,000. One can never know how high bitcoin will go. That is why the safest play is sell ETHf and buy ETHc.

who takes advice from a degenerate troll such as yourself ?  Grin
344  Economy / Speculation / Re: sub 1000 gone forever on: May 08, 2017, 12:29:13 PM
buyers will come in at 1100-1200 on next dip.  you will never again get the chance to buy a bitcoin for under 1k.
Some of willing to use bitcoin is waiting for the price to get down before they start using bitcoin lmao they didn't know that bitcoin will never be at the price of the way they think. If they knew about it since day one maybe they one of the millionaires now.

if anyone hanging out here since 2011 onwards and isnt a millionaire by now  they must be incompetent or something

Sub $1400 maybe gone forever the way things are going...

nah, it is too soon to say that.
lets wait until ETF is rejected once again and if price could hold above $1400 then we can talk about whether or not sub $1400 is still possible!

(the first rejection price went down from $1230 to ~$900)

We are not getting an Etf,but I don't think people care about that
As much as last time
Japan  as a nation treating Bitcoin as a legit currency is worth more than an Etf would be, especially if you don't live in USA

Also depends how high we go between now and the next Etf rejection lol...

haha i don't live in US and i couldn't care less about ETF nonsense but it seems like market cares a lot about it for some weird reason!
in any case i hope i am wrong as this rise is all or at least 90% because of Japan ...

when is this one going to be rejected anyways? i heard it is next week but i couldn't find it on the news.

SEC have said they will answer by not later than the 15th / next monday
i think the rejection is mostly priced in tbh ,if we get a dip il buy MOAR tho Wink

Do any of you guys who only use "10% of coins for trading and 90% in cold storage" or whatever the ratio is find it frustrating every time you double up the 10% but missed the opportunity to double up the rest of the 90%? If I did such a thing it would feel like a huge loss to me.

Depends on the size of your stack, a large pile will crash the market so early adopters or whales can't throw in 100% even if they wanted to...

349  Economy / Speculation / Re: hmm, was it bit-finex or bit-stamp with the weird price! on: May 06, 2017, 06:47:34 AM
You should buy there and sell it @ coinbase...
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell my stocks buy bitcoin... on: May 06, 2017, 05:10:37 AM
Yeah as someone had already written. Dont put one egg into one baskets. Bitcoins is a good hedge against stocks and vice versa so you could have both as well as oil or other commodities which could only rise in price as they are so low.

i wouldnt be so quick to invest in oil when the world is turning to electric vehicles ,oil might go sideways for a long time because there is no shortage of it anymore.....

I wouldn't go for oil for a long haul, for certain. The rate at which alternative energy is proliferating is outright astonishing.
to be honest for a long investment i wouldn't go with anything else other than bitcoin bitcoin is the investment option that in the longer run will always bring you some good money, it's supply is always going to be limited thus the price can only grow in a longer run and bring you some good profit.

I also do not think its worth trying right now because of the bitcoin price, you can better try it on a later moment when the price has lowered a bit again.

The  range I expect for 2017 is $3000-7000
Buy now while you still can afford a whole bitcoin
hahaha, yeah right, the price is not going to reach 2000 dollars not even talking about the higher prices, you might need to wait for a few years to reach such heights.
could happen in a few days... you do not understand how bull markets work.

Some people have a wealth of no idea but yet they somehow feel entitled to give advice to others on subjects they have no clue about.... Frankly hilarious

Btc is up 40% in a month and that's on the current crippled form without any scaling solutions yet
351  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: May 06, 2017, 05:00:13 AM
Bitcoin does not look that dead to me, since the price of it went above $1,300 not to long ago and there were news articles stating that the price of Bitcoin broke the previous all-time high. I think that the people that invested in Bitcoin when you built this thread made a bunch of money and cashed their Bitcoin out and went on with their day.
Since Bitcoin is going up now, they might be trying to begin holding Bitcoin again.

Dead for sure lol
If you have any left send them to charity
352  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which one to buy? Stocks Houses Gold or Bitcoin or Bonds? on: May 06, 2017, 01:51:04 AM
Gold will Not make you any significant profit, however it will protect you against the devaluation of paper cash and therfore allow you to retain value you already had....

To gain a larger stack in a reasonable time frame, use crypto or the stock market or both

Move the wealth into gold for safekeeping after you make it
Gold alone is Historically a bad investment but a good store of value although people who bought it for $1800 in 2011 are still deeply in the red and might still take several years to break even never mind profit...

353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else HAVE most or maybe ALL of their money in btc/crypto? on: May 05, 2017, 06:11:22 PM
Most don't have a large amount of their money on BTC because it is too new and too risky. Who has a lot of coins was a super early adopter that kept his/her coins "forgotten".
The new altcoins that are been created in these days has attracted much attention, with investors trying to figure out which can be the next BTC... maybe this one way to earn a lot... or lose all:Smiley

Btc IS the next Btc.... Get it or regret it folks
Ethereum is growing alongside it but they are not the same animal , differently designed for different purposes but that's not to say anything necessarily  bad about the altcoins..

You can't really go wrong with top. 5 coins over the long term imo, the only one I would not buy is dash
354  Bitcoin / Electrum / Anyone use TrustedCoin 2Fa on electrum? on: May 05, 2017, 04:49:31 PM
Anyone here still using or recommend this?
I used it before but it was long ago and haven't
Tested it for ages...

Is it as reliable as other 2Fa solutions?

355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 05, 2017, 01:24:23 PM

C$41 and climbing.  Of course, the whole field of alts is going fucking looney, and BTC holding near $1600 US.  Not sure what world this is  Cheesy

Either a world that's gone fucking looney as you said, LOL, or a world where the long-awaited "S-Curve" of cryptocurrency is finally starting to happen...

I hope it's the latter *but* having been burned once too often in the last 3 years I still fully expect at least a few more "head-fakes" before S-Curve is real.

We'll see.  IAC not making any more changes to the portfolio, come what may.

Now it's just popcorn time and watching the pretty green candles rise up and to the right Cheesy

HODL gentlemen
if it isnt this time ,it will be next time
crypto favours strong hands ,just like everything else .........
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else HAVE most or maybe ALL of their money in btc/crypto? on: May 05, 2017, 01:22:33 PM
Well just like folks diversify in stock, I diversify in cybercurrencies; spreading out over 10 different ones.

i agree with this 100%  ,the results speak for themselves
i have friends who keep investing in  property and other assets  because thats what they know
but nothing and i mean nothing produces  returns like crypto .... Grin

357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where are we? on: May 05, 2017, 12:34:01 PM

do not let yourselves become weak hands
10k is approaching ,all you have to do is hodl and if someone wants to know how you

can you guys not afford your own thread or something ?

This is the thread about ETHc. This is the thread about ETH as it was in the beginning.

This is the ETH thread, you and bit pop can go rent a room somewhere else....
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else HAVE most or maybe ALL of their money in btc/crypto? on: May 05, 2017, 11:17:17 AM
Differentiation is always the key. Differentiate you crypto investments as well as your non crypto ones. Putting all eggs in the same basket is never a good solution.

http://www.businessinsider.com/cuban-on-investing-diversification-is-for-idiots-2011-8

If you are confident in a certain area of the market, it makes sense for professionals to focus on that.. Ordinary people should have a mixed basket but if got know what you're doing you can make a lot more by focusing on your speciality
