621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin still be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years? on: December 14, 2016, 06:07:12 PM
Will bitcoin still be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years or will something better take over?

Most likely it will not be, technology moves forward so fast and new people will adapt crypto.
From the current coins I think it is Monero that will survive and gain a significiant market capitalization. Monero may not reach the market cap of bitcoin but I think from the current levels it has significiant growth potential and yes even there is a chance it will go beyond. Will Monero be the best coin from now to eternity...? Most likely not, but among the current ones it will be definetely a good choice for some time at least (be it 3 years or 8 years or...)

XMR key selling points will also be its limitations imo
for sure ,it would make a great coin for dark markets ,tax evaders and under the table deals
(these are precisely the reason i invested in it )

i dont think it will be traded on the nasdaq and wall st though ,areas where bitcoin is already pushing into
as i think governments will consider it a criminals coin..........and some of the hate will shift from btc to xmr
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 14, 2016, 05:54:33 PM
@OP - Can you come up with a FIX for txn malleability (the root of MANY issues) ? If you can, I'm all ears.

transaction malleability..

what does it solve. you show me what you think it solves and i can easily counter it with how that is an over hyped exaggeration used to push bitcoin in one direction that does not really give us any more expectations than the 'possibles' of 2009-2013

..eh ?

You such a 'hater' lately - Frank.  Undecided

Was the $1 billion dollars stolen from MtGOX an 'over hyped exaggeration' ?

I know - sloppy code. Well - what if every other exchange out there, (with BUCKETS of code complicating things trying to get around txn malleability), could now NOT worry about that issue, and simplify their withdrawal process by a factor of, I dunno, 100 ? Pretty useful if you ask me. (And I actually write code for an exchange)

..I could go on.. (there's almost too much).. but I know you're going to lay into this post whatever I say..  Smiley

karpeles robbed mt gox blind
tx malleability was a convenient excuse but if it ws that big of a problem ,it would have affected every player in the industry ,not only gox lol
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 14, 2016, 05:51:50 PM
Any news on when the Q1 GUI project is going to be completed. Eagerly waiting for it.... Hoping it by January or early..

I was very wrong at all kind of Crypto speculations. But I give tiny chances that GUI will be out after 5th January.

the gui is likely already priced in
xmr is a nice project ,my only worry is so many other coins are coming to the party
with privacy features ......
hopefully the XMr network effect will be too strong.......
624  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1000+ is anytime now on: December 14, 2016, 04:31:40 PM
I do not believe its around the corner you cannot say that it will be around the corner due to the fact that we cannot predict the bitcoin simply.

with that attitude you will surely miss the train to 10k when it does come .......... Wink
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 14, 2016, 03:39:22 PM
I also will NOt be upgrading to SEGWIT in its current form ...

If segwit came with a dynamic blocksize it would be a more appropriate solution
but a segwit we have no choice but rather forced upon us is not equivalent to the product of a free market
626  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to start seriously talking about a $5000 BTC on: December 13, 2016, 07:42:41 PM
we're at $770... $1000 coming soon.

Is it time to start seriously talking about $5000 BTC in the next 3 years?

Let's talk about $1001 when we get to $1000, talk about $5000 when we get $4999. Hopeful thinking is good but that is crazy lol

If you think btc adoption will grow in an  orderly fashion at 1 usd  increases you must really be new to this game lol

627  Economy / Speculation / Re: If we didnt had idiots blocking segwit we would be sittting on 4 figures by now on: December 13, 2016, 06:54:59 PM
Just to be clear "some idiots" are more than 70% of the network?

Seems to me there is probably a bit more to it than a few die hards.

It's only been out, what, a few weeks? People aren't going to rush to change if it's going ok for them.

it has been a lot longer than that, the signalling officially started recently (a couple of weeks ago) and "people" don't have to change anything it is miners who are signalling the change and should change to it not nodes.

p.s. i also think we would have broken $1000 resistance if Segwit was released.

Segwit must be rejected and fortunatey most of the community are rejecting it in favour of a proper scaling plan  ..
628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Bitcoin price ever drop back down to $500? on: December 12, 2016, 01:07:24 PM
It's funny that when people talk about reaching $1000 that they see it as an easy thing (which it's obviously not) that might happen this month, but when they talk about $500 it's next to impossible to see such prices, while the difference to reach both levels is not that large ($230 to reach $1000 and $270 to reach $500). It doesn't only depend on whether or not we'll see another major exchange getting "hacked" as some people say. We can very well land into a bear market that is pushing the price slow but steadily towards $500 prices. Realistic possibility since the price can't only go up.

There will not be such a market as you describe for the simple reason that there are now a greater amount of bulls than bears and people in certain countries are even paying 25% over the spot price because btc is in short supply..... Already

$5-10k before the next halving, if anyone needs to accumulate under 1k the train is leaving the station....
629  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Cold Storage with Electrum on: December 12, 2016, 08:44:05 AM
Just store your seed in an encrypted folder on the cloud.  Eliminates the need for USB sticks and is just as secure.

What encryption method  are you using to store this in the cloud?
630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Bitcoin price ever drop back down to $500? on: December 12, 2016, 08:41:37 AM
My answer is yes and the supposed time is year 2020. Reason: btc has already been $1k and then it dropped to $300 or so. Big operations with btc stolen and halving are two things which are likely to make the price go down. Another thing is electricity becoming more expensive in poor countries trying to integrate into EU and stuff which is happening in my country now. If electricity is not cheap then mining is unprofitable, the whole process stops and btc explodes.

631  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: December 12, 2016, 06:37:31 AM
Bitcoins in the future for me would just be a mean to buy some experimental altcoins, until some of the altcoins will become so popular that bitcoin will become unnecessary.

bitcoin is going to triple in value in 2017 and most of the altcoins are going to go to shit for awhile since theyre priced in relation to a bitcoin ....
if bitcoin is allowed to scale up ,add fungibilty/privacy ,smart contracts and unlimited  txs per second on sidechains most alt coins will have no purpose ....
the network effect btc has  along with the features from some alts wil be a unstoppable combination

633  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to start seriously talking about a $5000 BTC on: December 12, 2016, 05:17:28 AM
I think that it is not possible because i think that this situation will happent:Many countries will use laws to move bitcoin from own country and bitcoin price will go donwn and local crpto coins will win the battle what is bad for us because we will need to use so often exchanges to get bitcoin.

the solution to your problem is  **DECENTRALISED EXCHANGES**

634  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think will be a best time to buy bitcoin? on: December 12, 2016, 04:20:54 AM
When do you think will be a best time to buy bitcoin ?
of course when the price is low because we can buy high amount of bitcoin and then hold it. or you can buy it on April - June (just my prediction)

and when is the best time to keep bitcoin first before selling?
probably on August - December. if you want to sell bitcoin, sell it by the end of the year because sometimes the price goes up by the end of the year

be very careful dumping in this december
the price could rally over 1k anytime and you may end up with a bunch of fiat and not enough to buy back your coinz
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Story of Bob Surplus on: December 11, 2016, 09:47:56 PM

I don't know why anyone would want to go hatin on poor bob. He's just makin money the cryptocurrency way - he's fuckin stealing it. You're all just jelly.

Crypto has a proud history of being a nest of thieving scumbags from Zhou Tong to Mark Karpeles. Even the beloved of this forum like Cypherdoc, DeathandTaxes and Eric Voorhees have ended up being worthless fucking scammers. Why pick a little guy like Bob to hate on?

You forgot Matthew N Wright on your scammers list....

No, he's on a different list of mine. He's on the silly dumbass list. He's not really a crafty scammer like Eric Voorhees or Zhou Tong that made us all feel warm and fuzzy while they walked away rich with our money. MnW made a silly bet for tons of money that he lost, couldn't pay and walked away broke. That's different.

He is trying to say that he has repaid everyone in the bet and even posting about it on other forums for anyone he owes to get in touch

https://bitcointalk4.com/important-announcements/matthew-n-wright-is-trying-to-pay-his-debts/

For the record, he hasn't contacted me even though I'm marked on the list as not replying to his contacts ....

There will be a legal reason for that, probably any debt is legally void if someone doesn't reply to a contact attempt after a number of years. Contact him about the debt, and keep a record of it so he can't deny you contacted him.

Matthew  has locked the threads in question and asked all affected  members (whose names are highlighted in red) to contact theymos which i have done but he didnt reply either ..........

I have not went anyway ,nor am i uncontactable

I dont expect matthew to pay up but whenever i see him lying  on other websites  he has made good on all his bet debts  i will continually state for the record that he has NOT so at least  he doesnt get enough trust to scam new people who dont know about the past ..............

Is this the Matthew N. Wright you had dealings with? I couldn't find your name in the negative feedback left for him. You could leave him negative feedback, and mention that you sent him a pm requesting repayment in it. Unfortunately his profile shows he was last active on January 23, 2014 so he isn't reading bitcointalk pms. Is there any other way to contact him through his websites?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=24749

It's ironic he asked you to pm theymos because he gave him negative feedback.

yes ,its the same Matthew N Wright ,surprise surprise lol

you can find my name on this list in red  : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140654

and on other bitcoin forums in the last few months he has claimed to resolved this with affected persons

if he had any intention of contacting the users on that list he could have done so as far as im concerned
and why lock the thread and  tell them to contact theymos anyway ?
636  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are heading towards a new All Time High on: December 11, 2016, 07:22:10 PM
The problem with unconfirmed transactions won't go away anytime soon. If Segwit gets activated, at least the transaction throughput will increase and some pressure will ease on unconfirmed transactions. Bitcoin might die a slow death if segwit doesn't get activated, the block size doesn't increase and transactions keep piling up.

That's why I switched from Core to Bitcoin Unlimited because the latter allows me as a full node operator to define my own maximum block size limit. If everyone set their own maximum block size limit then it's much better than an ugly segwit hack in the code that will scare new coders away from the project.

i also believe SEGWIT is a dangerous step in the wrong direction and i am running a BU node now

bitcoin must remain what it always was ,peer to peer with no third parties

its only a matter of time before payment chanel operators wiil have to  AML/KYC and freeze funds
because the governments will DEMAND the info from them as you can see happpening now to coinbase

after that we would have frozen funds/accounts and blacklisted coins and the IRS hounding the users etc

the blocks must be allowed to grow as well and sidechains must remain optional rather than compulsary

Vitalik is a criminal running this scam

You sound like Vitalik molested you when you were a kid ......or was it someone else ?

Youre in here every day bitching about ETH when you could just fuck off and
do something constructive................... on the ETC forum .....

The only reason anyone spams against a coin as hard as you do  is because they have an agenda ....
(like kwukduck and talkscheep  FUDDING bitcoin everyday for years lol )

Yes my agenda is immutable blockchains

you could hear a rat piss on cotton in any of the ETC forums .......its dead
it is otherwise known as the losing chain and the one that the majority  community DOESNT
support and i say this a considerable  ETC holder .....(the price is a clue )

Constantly badmothing ETH or Vitalik doesnt add anything helpful
The best way to support ETC is not by  spamming an ethereum thread

Compare the community/developers/roadMap or any other metric   for both coins and you should be able to see for yourself which coin is going to prosper ........
