Congratulations.

You still have to pay your own legal fees even if found not guilty? That's... medieval.

i think a public defender is still free .......usually some useless wimp that will agree with the prosocution case
and recommend you take the plea bargain

if you want a top notch lawyer that will fight your case tooth and nail  and spend days doing research ,i think that
comes out of your own pocket which is kinda shit if you cant afford decent legal represantation
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.11.0 has been released on: July 15, 2015, 06:00:20 AM
the new client is unfunctional as a wallet ??
WTF #

if i wanted a node i could set one up but most people want the wallet first and foremost  i would imagine

they need to get on this ASAP

if i upgrade what happens to my old wallet + addresses + priv keys + btc balance ??
1103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: The End of Money as We Know It documentary is out! on: July 14, 2015, 08:18:16 PM
where can i watch it for free

Just wait a few days and it'll likely be all over warez and torrent sites. I'm interested in watching it but wont be paying for it either. I think the title of the doc is a bit ominous, though.

Its already on the pirate bay being shared among about 60 people atm....

Note-to-Future-Self: Come back to comment in this thread if it ever hits $10kUSD/BTC.

10k will be the floor at some stage on this journey ....
If we see 10k it isn't going to stop there so rather than dumping I would still hodl....
1105  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: July 14, 2015, 06:03:00 PM
I would sell all my Bitcoins if satoshi nakamoto moves his bitcoin from the wallets

Why?
If he wanted to cash out into billions of dollars he could have done so anytime until now or anytime in the future, this is quite an assumption that he kept every private key anyway when coins were being harvested at near zero difficulty by his laptop

He could still sell the private keys to the genesis blocks without visibly  moving the coins if that were his plan but I think if he was in it solely for the profit he would have bailed out already

He might have up to  an estimated ~1m+ btc, what more  profit could be worth waiting for?
1106  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 14, 2015, 03:08:22 PM
If you did cash out a million dollars to your bank account, aren't there some legal/technical issues to consider, right?
Don't worry, I won't be cashing out.  I'll be spending my bitcoins directly.

be aware that for example iin the USa IRS want their portion even if you use your bitcoin directly, they will know about it if you buy expensive thing like a lambo....
This. They want you to keep track of price when you received (bought) the bitcoin, and the price you spent (sold in their eyes) at, and that is taxed.

what happens if you mined 10 btc for free (barring costs ) and suddenly that was enough to buy a lambo ?

you need to declare no matter what you used to have that lambo, even if you bought it with rocks, substantially all wealth should be taxed

but for small ones, they simply don't care

if i grow the worlds biggest apple by accident on my tree,on my property  its 100% mine
if i eat it myself  and shit it out i pay no taxes
if someone swapped me a lambo for the apple  whats the differnce ,i still acquired value from nothing so i pay no taxes
if  i sell it to my neighbour who makes apple jam with it and we sell the jam for $500k i guess we owe taxes
the part im not sure about is when exactly does the government own 30% of my apple ?
is it when its still on the tree ? and the value is as yet unknown ?
is it when its converted to jam ?
does it go by yearly tax dates ?
i cant declare an apple that hasnt fully grown yet as its value is still appreciating etc

1108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah Scam on Mintpal - Reporting Missing Coins on: July 14, 2015, 02:10:18 AM
Apparently MintPal Limited is also in liquidation.  Syscoin folks haven't mentioned that.  Can't find any record of Ferd's action against Kennedy or MooPay (recall that said action was crowd-funded w/ 25 btc (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=843070.0), but no evidence of any such action has been provided to date).

https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/2313390/

Interestingly, Ferd is still partners w/ Chelsea: http://companycheck.co.uk/company/09143500/TORIHIKI-LTD/directors-secretaries

People have been saying for months ferdous fucked everyone Over and is as guilty as anyone else whether he sold the company to mystery thief or stole the funds himself

Either way he should be liable

after I get a house, car, wife from it  Grin

and have profit of $500,000. Then I would be set for life  Cool

Unless you live in Africa, house car and wife cost a lot more  than 500k to maintain for life  lol

1110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: July 13, 2015, 07:14:44 PM
should bitcoin have an update to compact the blockchain?
even if the HDD become cheaper in the future, it won't help for synchronizing, that is horrible - less people uses qt = less security.

It should get compacted, it is shocking to see how big btc wallet is getting with all the confirmations and blockchain in it. Now getting closer to 30GB. I stopped using this due to this fact and crashing when trying to download or update. Moved to Bither wont ever go back to qt main wallet unless I really need to and so far Bither is been a kick ass wallet.

Close to 30GB?? Did you mean 40 Smiley

1111  Other / Meta / Re: Just remove signatures already. As in delete, disable, gone. on: July 12, 2015, 04:54:48 PM
Are you guys blind or what? It's just this easy. If you are disturbed by signatures do this, if not then why complain? Let others be free to earn some money Smiley
You might be; or at the very least you didn't bother to read this thread.  That checkbox has been pointed out several times, the reasons why people may not want to use that checkbox have also been discussed, and hiding (campaign) signatures alone does nothing with regard to the other side effects also discussed before, as recent as 3 posts above yours.

Well i dont see any other side effects then. If someone is disturbed by too many ads he can disable it, just with adblock you can disable website ads.

But if you dont, then atleast support the company he is advertising, bitcoin is a small community ,yet, and it doesnt have many means to advertise new stuff.

Since our forum community is big, obviously new services will target forum users, we need to help support them by watching and checking out their ads.

After all you guys want all the way for bitcoin to succeede, so we must do a sacrifice like this for the bitcoin economy Smiley

Dices, scams and ponzis make up most of the advertising /spam

I don't care if they all fail, I hope they do actually now u think about it..

LOL

most people who have big money didnt get it by being stupid
if any whales are entering the market i would imagine they would acquire their coins slowly in this fashion
to get the required amount without creating a massive splash and crashing the price up to 4 digits

If these whales just want to invest, then they will buy slowly without affecting the price.

They may have already  reached the stage where they can't acquire more coins without small raises in the price
1113  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which BTC wallet are you using on: July 08, 2015, 06:23:49 PM
I am used to kept my btc on bittrex

 another rocket scientist ..........
just dont complain when you get goxxed ...... Roll Eyes..
Hope their dont goxxed me

You deserve to be goxxed  If you are still using an exchange wallet as your  "Bitcoin bank"
After gox and mineral and all the others  is hard to believe people still ain't learned anything Sad

the btc block chain Cheesy fastest and easiest to recover if passwords are lost

So, how do you recover your bitcoins when the passwords are lost ?
This should be good....
1117  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which BTC wallet are you using on: July 07, 2015, 04:23:08 AM
bitcoin qt why would I use anything else?  Huh

is there any other way thats more secure?

maybe trezor is a good option but if your trezor breaks you have to purchase a new one to get your keys back I find that stupid anyone else?

trezor still cost too much in my opinion, better to buy a cheap usb for cold storage and store wallet there

for your main desktop qt-core/electrum are the best, multibit seems still too buggy and armory has some problem too
My thoughts exactly.

I've had multibit for several years and i have yet to see Any bugs in it
Unlike core which has been buggy as fuck and constantly crashing and then  wanting to reindex the blockchain which can  take days.... Ymmv
1118  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to cash out 500k euro? on: July 06, 2015, 04:28:24 PM
So the idea is to put 500,000 € worth of taxable income in your bank account and not pay taxes on it? Sounds like a bad idea to me. You're posting on a public forum, asking for advice on how to break the law in a big way. That sounds like a bad idea as well.

Some countries have not decided to tax or regulate Bitcoin yet
For half a million euros it might be worth moving to a tax free country for a few months and cashing it out there safely

After that you can bring the cash anywhere or leave it in the tax free country's bank and just spend it via atm card worldwide
1119  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: July 06, 2015, 10:13:51 AM
[IMO] I predict that we will face a time when Bitcoin wallet is rarely secure

The security issues  is a personal thing
I'm sure there are people who have a ton of coins and very weak security and probably others at the opposite end of the scale with fort knox  security for a tiny amount of coins

If  you have any non trivial amount of btc its in your best interests to keep it secure as possible
10-100 btc today might be a life changing amount of money in a few years and they're will most certainly be lost and forgotten passwords in the future and much heartache for the losers as they see the coins they own but can't access gain shit tonnes of value..... Sad
1120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction over. on: July 06, 2015, 09:58:50 AM
Could be more people squirrelling away coins as it's starting to dawn on them that this thing isn't going away, it's actually being slowly  adopted although it is taking years and will take at least another 5 years to  gain awareness, development and trust before we see 5 digit prices imo....

The infrastructure and practical application development is only getting started so I feel we are lucky to be here at the tip of this iceberg and the people who already dumped will be like the people who said google,  Apple and Microsoft  were dead in the 90's
