2401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 16, 2023, 12:27:51 PM
It depends on the type of record to keep when it comes to gambling discussions like this, what is the benefit of keeping a record that will always bring tears to one's eye if all you had was a perpectual records on losses, there's nothing to encourage one in this than add up to depression because the records aren't enticing to keep, share or see oftentimes, but when we have some outstanding moments with gambling experience, we couldn't wanted to afford loosing these moments with putting them into archive for remembrance, such are good for this purpose and not all we have are disheartening records of losses.
In my own opinion, keeping record of gambling activities in both winnings and losses is very essential for every gambler in other to regulate his their gambling activities.
There are some set of people who has never been lucky enough to win in gambling despite spending huge to win and keeping records will help them know that gambling isn't favourable to them which might make them to quit gambling instead of betting more and still losing more money.
2402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 16, 2023, 11:47:37 AM
Now, the big question is this.... Is Drake being funded by Stake.com to make these huge bets, because he is an affiliate and a brand ambassador for Stake.com.  Huh

The same thing apply to his occasional gambling streams, where he gives away tons of money. It is one thing using your own money, but paid streamers are playing with casino money.

Will we ever know what happens behind closed doors.... right.  Tongue

I’m sure Drake is compensated by Stake. I don’t think that is really a question. Drake probably just bets the money they pay him. Even if he loses he gets a decent rake and I’m guessing he gets a % of users that sign up clicking his name or during certain periods when he’s got Stake in the news. I feel like when it comes to Drake the real money for him would be in the referrals.
Drake is a global influencer who happens to be influencing for Stake and I think he receives some certain compensation from the loses he does include in those big stakes that most times worths millions of dollars.
Again, the fact that we only get to see receipts of his losses doesn't mean that he's always losing all his stakes. Probably they don't make public the ones he does win and that's the work of most influencers.
2403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which games offer the best chance of a big win? on: October 16, 2023, 11:40:05 AM
Personally, I betting on football matches offers the best chances of winning big in gambling and that's because the outcome football matches are more predictable than any other means of gambling. Football results are sometimes very surprising just like other means of gambling but the options in football betting like number of goals to be scored, who's to score goals and many others are what makes gambling in football give a gambler more chances of winning big.
2404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 16, 2023, 11:31:46 AM
At one of the local gambling shop I visited during the weekend I happened to listen to a conversation between two bald looking gamblers at the shop talking about one of their gambling colleague who had won a big amount of money amounting to a million in the local currency and due to that win this colleague of theirs' has been avoiding them since e won that money. From their conversation it was obvious that they were a circle of close three friends that gamble together.

After all I finished with my bet headed home and was asking myself what could the colleague act that way avoiding his close friends they all gambling together and just because luck shines on him first he decides to create a distance and class. I couldn't actually annex a good reason why anyone should do that.
It would have been nice to know how much money is what that person won in terms of dollars as that will give us a clearer view about his reasons for avoiding his friends.

Because if that amount is high in terms of dollars, it is possible the reason he is avoiding them is that he does not want to listen to the loan requests of his friends, as he will have to reject them directly, probably putting an end to the friendship right there, or he will have to accept the request, and most likely he will never get his money back.

In same vein $1million is a big money to an average US citizen that's how 1million in any local currency would seem big to a citizen of that country to which that currency is designated irrespective of exchange rate difference in the international market.

It doesn't have to be in dollars for it to worth his reasons for the avoidance.  Giving loans to family members or friends is a risk that any one would like to avoid because the ending part about getting back that loan in 10 out of 8 cases has never ended pleasantly for both parties.

For it's not difficult to get back a loan from strangers as you will be willing to apply every force necessary to getting it back without a feeling of sympathy for them but for family and friends sympathy and affinity usually gets in our way while trying to device forceful means to regain the loan from them.
It is the avoidance of loan requests from family members and close friends that most gamblers does try to stay away from them whenever they win big and that I think is absolutely understandable judging by the fact that these requested loans aren't paid back in most cases and when they try to pay back, it always ends in big fights and quarrells.
It takes a lot of patience from gamblers before they can win big after several losses and that's why it is very important to wisely put to use any proceed they make from huge winnings . Allowing themselves to be accessed by family and friends after winning big increases the chances that the proceeds from the winnings are gonna be shared among friends and family instead of investing the proceeds.
2405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 16, 2023, 11:21:39 AM
Personally I think before starting gambling you should make a budget and have self control. When you lose your maximum daily loss/limit simply take some fresh air and reserve it for another day.

That can help a bit but most gamblers when they lose money be it the predetermined budget or something more they cannot that easily forget about this situation and in most cases they continue to gamble which leads to more heavy loses than the daily/weekly budget.

I agree with you, taking a long walk is a great way to distract yourself from gambling and to feel a bit better after the loss we experience gambling but the sad reality is that only few people are able to do this and as such to relieve themselves this sort of pain.
It is the lack of self control among some gamblers especially when they've lost their initially budgeted daily limit that's led to them becoming gambling addicts. Whenever ones loses his daily budgeted limit, it is very important for the person to quit gambling for that very day and focus on other things that can yield him some income.
Trying to gamble more in other to recover already lost money isn't a wise decision as the chances of winning again on that same day is very slim.
2406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 15, 2023, 11:15:11 PM
According to news PSG are still trying to convince Mbappe for another contract extension these days. They are trying everything they can to prevent him from leaving without any transfer fee. PSG are of course one of the richest European teams right now but it isn't like they are in need of a lot of money.

It wouldn't seem nice if they lose their most valuable player on free transfer. They would be criticized by everyone for letting him go like that. But it won't be easy to convince Mbappe for sure.
This is not a matter of convincing Mbappe. He isn't a kid and he knows what is good for him I believe. If he has made up his mind to leave the club by next open window there is nothing the club will say to make him change his mind unless they are willing to offer him the whole Paris Saint Germain as the new owner.
Assuming PSG allowed Mbappe to do his mind, by now the news would have been a past tense and a new star would have arose for the club. Now they have season 2 of the same drama that will happen next year because of one man. I think Mbappe s influence in PSG is no longer favourable to the club yet the club is pretending and are on their way to make more monetary mistakes.
2407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 15, 2023, 10:56:47 PM
If Dortmund does not stop their habit of selling their best players there is no how they are going to be successful competing with Bayern Munich. They need to follow this with alot of wisdom. I know that they are known for being up stars and in as much as this is their culture they do it better than other teams. And how things works is that every season must arise a star from the club. I am not against them buying low and selling high and I am not also against them promoting from feeders and selling high. What I am concerned about is if they can at least delay these transfers for one season. I mean allow such a player to play for two seasons before putting him off for sell. If Jude Bellingham was to be in Dortmund this season, that narrow miss of the title last season would have been gotten this season.
What amazes us is that they sell star players and can orbit other players to become star players in the next era. In the previous season Dortmund had haaland and they sold him to manchester city and after that they managed to make Jude bellingham's name soar and sold him again. I think dortmund are used to their way of stabilizing the team's performance and maintaining their finances.

This season, Dortmund are still quite strong in the bundesliga because they have not been defeated in the 7 matches they have played. Their strength is still quite strong and losing Jude bellingham won't have too bad an impact on them in the bundesliga. But in the Champions League they haven't won after drawing against AC milan and losing to PSG.
Just imagine that Dortmund doesn't have the selling mentality and see what their squad and their legendary squad will look lik, let's just try to mention
  • Lewandoski
  • Aubameyang
  • Sancho
  • Haaland
  • Bellingham
I know I have omitted many but the fact is that Dortmund doesn't want to build for long. They are simply doing what they are used to doing and what they think gives them results.
2408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 15, 2023, 10:45:58 PM
I instead believe that Guardiola will be interested in young players that has long future to spend in the club. I also do not think that Guardiola will allow players like Gundigon and Mahrez to leave the club and in the end bring player as old as Toni Kross to play with him. His experience with Toni in Bayern is old enough to be forgotten and dwell on new people and new challenges.
In the other hand, Toni wanted to end his career in Madrid but was persuaded by Madrid management to help the club to play one more season. I am surprised Toni wants to continue playing. It is good and passionate although
Due to the absence of key players this season, the once-dominant Manchester City has crumbled, and Pep Guardiola will rebuild his club into an alternate configuration. Bringing in Toni Kroos won't help the Citizens; instead, they should look into various ways to sign outstanding players during the upcoming transfer window, which is one of the most effective ways to improve the team's performance. Toni Kroos won't try to leave Los Blancos this season; he wants to reach greater heights with the team that gave him his exceptional performance, accolades, and titles.
You got my point of view clearly but some other persons are insisting that Toni will be a short term solution to supplement the absence of KDB in the team. I don't know how effective this arrangement will be and for people to be suggesting for Citizens to bring a short term solution shows that the Citizens made mistakes in the past transfer window.
If I were the coach, I would not touch the squad that gave me FA cup, EPL and CL the same season. I would just repeat them for the next season. But Guardiola didn't think this way, rather he made some changes and brought in few new blood and it seems that the decision is not favourable to the club at this time. Although the season must started but then City should be city always.
2409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 15, 2023, 10:34:13 PM
Dortmund has built players who you can no mention their name twice in the all world now, I really agreed with your statement saying they are not after Bundesliga title because if the want they will get it, Robert Lewandowski was their product which move to Bayern Munich than later to Barcelona and is still doing great, take a look at Haaland has taken Manchester City to the next level by win so many trophies, look at Jude Bellingham that recently joined Real Madrid and gradually make name there, Jude Bellingham scored in every matches he has played, now people see him as future Ballon d'Or winner due to his playing habit. I Don think Dortmund really need Bundesliga title rather they prefer business.
Germay teams don't have what it take to pull a tough battle for the the Bundesliga this season, perhaps this season kind of seems quite different due to the current standings on the table with Bayer Leverkusen that totally understands the entire operations of these teams. Borrusia Dortmund is the only consistent contender with Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title every season. But they have woefully failed due to the one repetitive mistakes they kept making. That's selling their important players to elite sides in every transfer summer, it's not longer amazing because they do make quite good figures from these players.
I agree and Kevin De Bruyne is one of the most powerful midfielders in this game. I am a lucky person to see this guy play the game, he is like the Messi or Ronaldo of the midfield.

I also think de Bruyne is a very special player. But even without him, Manchester City win their matches. Manchester City have a very large and very high quality squad. They brought the best players in the world to the team and the best manager in the world is coaching them. The absence of a player is not felt. However, if 5-6 players are missing at the same time, there may be a problem. Apart from that, they have very solid rotations. For a team that plays around 70 matches a year, it's important to have strong squad depth. Manchester City management does this planning very well.
KDB is a silent achiever and because he doesn't glory going to media to make some noise some people tends to underrate his abilities in the field of play. Every good player and football lovers know the worth of KDB in every midfield. Guardiola himself understands this very well, that is why he doesn't joke with Kelvin.
Even anytime Haaland is interviewed, he doesn't stop emphasizing the abilities of Kelvin in the midfield. It is clear even to the blind the space Kelvin has left in the midfield of Manchester city. Should Kelvin be around, I do not think that Arsenal would be able to win Manchester city last week.
I wish KDB fast recovery so that he can rejoin his team for a greater performance.
2411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: October 15, 2023, 09:59:02 PM
I think you guys are getting it all wrong the Elclasico has always been big even before Cristiano Ronaldo and Leonel Messi both reached their prime. The Elclasico has always been an important fixture in the Spanish La liga season. This is bigger than the player, it's a rivalry that would always be big any day any time. Yes Ronaldo and Messi gave it more appeal from neutral fans (non real Madrid or Barcelona fan) but anyone who is a core fan of both team or a strong follower of football would always anticipate this fixture.
El Clasico is very crucial match despite without Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, I blame with many people still said not interested with El Clasico match after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo departure from La Liga competition. Before both players are popular, el clasico have been interested and there are not problem have Messi and Ronaldo keep make more attention with El Clasico match. Its great rival between Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga always more interested with el Clasico match despite there are not Lionel Messi with Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid, exactly Madrid have leaves by Ronaldo last several years and they got many tittles and seems there are not really important when have one player leave club because still have other player will replace his position.
Every football lover knows the anxiety, excitement and pleasure that el classico brings in. The world of football. The El classico is not about Messi and Ronaldo. But I have to confess that Messi and Ronaldo gave El classico a very different flavour to what it has been having from time. Meanwhile it is because both were at their prime and they played for long in Real Madrid and made name for themselves and the club. As a matter of fact, every El classico has people who are the faces of the El classico from the two different teams. At a time it was Benzema Vs Lewandoski.
This time around I do not know the faces of the El Classico. From the Madrid team I have Vini Junior and J Bellingham but I do not know who to match them with exactly in Barcelona.
2412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: October 15, 2023, 09:42:15 PM
We are still at the beginning of the season and although PSG is further behind than its rivals, the difference in points is not much. Of course, they are not playing as well as if they were having an undefeated season and they lost a lot of points, but we cannot say that their opponents played great either. I am sure we will watch a competitive league this year, we started as if the champion might not be determined until the end of the season
So far for the League PSG is still quite competitive. The difference in points is not much and the opportunity for the champion is still wide open. But for European competitions it seems that they will only reach the group stage. In addition, the arrival of new coach Luis Enrique seems to be making a big change. Verrati, who has been 11 years old, seems to be leaving because it is not in Enrique's plans. It seems that hoping PSG sooner to dominate the league requires a process.
It is true that the points difference is not much and the league competition has not gone so far. So PSG is still in the race 100%. I think the complaints and concern is about two things;
  • PSG doesn't have a history of having a poor start of the season, so it is just strange to see it happening now.
  • The recent misunderstanding between PSG and their star player Mbappe, compared to the exit of Messi and Neymar.
Many things have happened in PSG and they might likely not be able to maintain their leadership in the ligue 1.
2413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 15, 2023, 09:28:21 PM
Even when we do win, we tend to spend most of our winnings, so we don't treat it as business money. This leaves us in a precarious situation when we lose because the money we initially budgeted for our families gets diverted to cover unexpected gambling-related expenses.
That's to some people. I have seen someone who won big in gambling, what he did was to use the money he got from gambling to establish a big business for himself. From that time till now, he has been living comfortably and he does minimize the way he gambles each week.
When asked why is he not betting as he ought to before, he answers by saying that he has gotten the amount he's longing for to start up a business. Any other thing will come but not by getting addicted to gambling to win more bets because you will end up losing the money won from gambling bets.
Well I have heard this type of your story of people quitting gambling when they have gotten the amount of money they needed for something important like a start up capital for business. But some other persons do not gamble with target, immediately they win big in gambling, they will see the winning as a free money, forgetting how much they have been lossing in gambling. They will therefore largish the money and return to their usual gambling life.

Regarding op questions. It is not a good habit to gamble at work, when it becomes a habit it will affect your work conditions and your output at work will be very low. Just have a time for gambling and avoid gambling at work.
2414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 15, 2023, 08:58:01 PM
Sancho going to Barcelona would be a dream for both parties. Juventus is not a huge team, but Barcelona could become a great team with him, they are still not far away from the title possibility at la liga, and they are doing great at UCL as well, so all those combined could mean that we could potentially see him do fine at Barcelona.

Juventus had so many troubles and I am guessing that we are not going to end up with that many amazing deals for them in the near future, players and their agents will know that they are not going to get what they want out of there and could face trouble and success could be very difficult. On the other hand if he goes to Barcelona then he is going to get everything he wants there, success, fame, money, everything will be there and he will be playing at the second biggest league in the world. Not like there is anyone who would be better than him neither, so he will get as much time as he possibly could as well.
Sancho should be able to work on his attitude in order to have a good stay in any club he will go be it Juventus or Barcelona. It doesn't matter who is at fault between him and his boss. Erik Ten hang is the manager and that fact should be respected. Even if he is been cheered by some persons saying that he did nothing wrong and need not to apologize, he should disregard the advice and apologize.
This matter might likely be used against him in his new club if care is not taken. So even if Sancho wants to leave Manchester United he should endeavour to be in peace with all men in Old Trafford such that his career will not be marked by things that are clearly avoidable.
2415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons you should not gamble on too many things at once. on: October 15, 2023, 08:13:11 PM
If you have the habit of playing and gambling on different sports and game, I think it is not good because of some few reasons like;
YOU WILL SPEND MORE MONEY ON GAMBLING.
YOU CAN BECOME MORE EASILY ADDICTED THAN A GAMBLER WHO PLAYS ONLY ONE GAME.
YOUR CHANCES OF LOOSING WILL INCREASE, BUT YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING MAY NOT INCREASE.
YOU WILL SPEND MORE TIME GAMBLING.
Which other reason?

Being successful in gambling has many things to do with emotions and control more than your skills or experience. If you gamble on many things at the same time you will not be able to control your losses and it is a bad habit. When you are unable to control or track your bets it is a one step close to losses.
Some people believe that the more options they gamble on, the more chances for them to win but this is not true I must say. The ability and attention you split in different bets, if it is assembled and concentrated on one bet or one type of gambling, it will be easier to get a win. Study one type of gambling and be consistent with it.
2416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 15, 2023, 07:30:12 PM
Manchester City may be interested in Toni Kross. He is a great midfielder. However, Manchester City's midfield is already much stronger now. So I don't think it would be very profitable to add Kross, who is almost 34 years old, to the team. Talented midfielders like De Bruyne, Silva and Phillips are already in the City squad. If City want to plan long term then they should add a young talented midfielder to the squad. The addition of Toni Kroos to the squad may have strengthened City's performance. But I doubt if he can give service to the team for more than 2/3 years.

The new interests me and since Toni Kroos is a player that has worked with Pep Guardiola with Bayern Munich, moving to Manchester City have a good possibility of happening.
Being 34 means nothing. Toni Kroos, still has that ability to break down defense with his passes. That is something he can bring into Pep Guardiola's side. Besides, they've lost Gundogan and since left, no player has met his standards.

Pep Guardiola already brought in a yougin from Manchester City Academy he ( Lewis ,) is already doing well. Did had a good game against Arsenal but no matured enough in midfied.
I instead believe that Guardiola will be interested in young players that has long future to spend in the club. I also do not think that Guardiola will allow players like Gundigon and Mahrez to leave the club and in the end bring player as old as Toni Kross to play with him. I do not know if this has been discussed before, but I want to know why most discussions on sports asides tennis is about the men's side of it and the women side is about only barely mentioned. Take football for example. Why is there low engagement in women sports from the side of viewers and even gamblers who are sports bettors? Is it not easier to win on gambling on women sports than men's sport? or is there no gambling site offering odds for betting on women sports?
The question should be who are those that are discussing the sports here in bitcointalk forum, it is the male gender and which sports is more interesting between the male and female genders, it is the male. Which among them is the most popular, it is also the male gender sports that is so popular.
Who are the gamblers, it is also the male gender. I think these said it all why the male sports is more popular and discussed. I sincerely do not know the names of many female footballers because I do not follow up their sports.

If Arsenal and Arteta happen to have the opportunity they had last season by occupying the top of the table for more than half of the season, I am very sure that the title will not elude them again. Arsenal must have learnt from their mistakes. It is not just Arsenal, but Arteta himself. Arteta made a very big mistake last season by relying on only few people and over used them for the season m that actually made the players like Saka and Marteneli and towards the end of the season they had fatigue and could not fight till the end

This season, Arsenal has a good squad depth. I didn't confirm this until Arsenal was able to beat Manchester city without the involvement of Saka. This is a clear indication that Arsenal is ready for this season.

Mistakes must have been learnt but not completely. Arsenal is still yet to sign a perfect replacement for Saka just incase Saka gets Injured for a long time.
Neto the Portuguese winger has been linked to gunners, I do hope he gets signed up.
Mikel Arteta had a good squad last season, he wasn't having enough depth and replacements for important players.

Against Manchester City, they played well and Mikel Arteta did his part well also. He brought in the perfect players to win him the game and also to hold down the game for him.
It is true that Arsenal needs a good backup for Saka... To be very sincere the match against Manchester city was with great tension because because of the absence of Saka. The saving grace of Arsenal was the absence of KDB and Rodri and that weakened the squad Manchester city which made it possible for Arsenal to withstand them even without the presence of Saka.

If Arsenal can manage their squad till January open window, it will be a great one and they will make a good signing to help Saka from the right side of the pitch. Saka has played good and many football from club to country and he needs to be relieved.

Neuer is very old now and that's why I think he won't be able to play like before even if he recovers from his injury. Goalkeepers can play for longer years than other football players, but their reflexes slow down and they cannot play as well as they used to. Currently, there are goalkeepers among the young goalkeepers who we can say are very good, but I am not sure whether they deserve the money paid to transfer them. I think the current goalkeepers are not playing well according to their value
Despite his advanced age, Manuel Neuer continues to work hard to make breakthroughs. He is a valuable goalkeeper for Bayern Munich and has given the Bavarians a great deal all throughout the course of his career. Unfortunately, he had a catastrophic skiing injury during the Qatar World Cup, and as a result, he has been completely sidelined for at least 10 months. It took the German such a long time to recuperate, but we were hopeful that he would make a full recovery since after the international break, he plans to make his first outstanding appearance of the season against Mainz.

The ages of goalies help them to player longer in football than other players. After the coaches, it is the goalies that play longer. For instance goalies like Edwin Van Der ser was mounting the goal post till about 42 of age. But the disadvantages of it is that any injury sustained at old age doesn't heal easily. If you examine very well, that is the problem of Neuer.

Talking about the new goalie, I will not say he is so poor but the standard set my Manuel Neuer is high that no goal keeper can easily fit in. If Bayern continues for longer time, they will get used to it. That is the same problem that Manchester United is facing with Onana

I think the Arab world is giving more attention to Footblall.

I am seeing a take over of Football interests from Europe as concerns are now heightened from the Saudis. More resources being pumped into the game and even offers rolling in to buy Manchester United with a whooping sum of money. This only tells me one thing, the game of soccer is about to change hands

https://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/man-utd-takeover-investors-saudi-arabia-5-billion-race-bid-deadline/bltcc885ca1142e9068
The paradigm is already changing and it is so obvious to everyone and including the Europeans. Before now the Europeans uses the world best players to control football just like what they did with Ronaldo and Messi in Laliga for so many seasons. If Saudi Arabia has learnt how to buy important players despite their age, they are one step closer to thin down the competition line.

The successful takeover of Newcastle United and that of Manchester United about to happen is another signal. The main tool to control this football industry is money and the Saudi Arabians are really to invest even more funds to achieve their desire. Time will tell how fast they will be to achieve this.
