Last season, Napoli dominated the Italian Serie A and despite Inter Milan's brilliance of last season that saw them reach the final UEFA Champions League league, they couldn't match Napoli's performance in the Italian league. However, Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi has taken it upon himself to make sure he rewrites that particular story of concerning the dominance of the Italian league this season and his determination to make sure his side dominates the most part of the league this season as well as winning the league at the end of the season has seen Inter Milan deliver incredible performances in the league since the start of the season. The English Premier League game between Liverpool and Manchester United didn't produce the kind of result that was expected of, the performance of the two clubs made the boring and unable to live up to the expectations of football fans across the globe. Liverpool with all their quality attacking players couldn't score a goal in that match even when they were tipped to rip Manchester United apart before the game kicked off. Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag would definitely be happy with the result because in recent weeks, his team has lost crucial games which made many football fans to believe that they were gonna be whitewashed by Liverpool yesterday. The draw sees Liverpool drop from the the top spot of the league standings.



Earlier in the beginning of the season when Manchester City were still at the top of the English Premier League table, many were of the opinion that they were gonna win English Premier League title at the end if the season again which if achieved will see them lift the trophy in each of the last four seasons. However, I was of the opinion then that Arsenal who were close to winning the league title last season before they were pipped to the trophy by Manchester City will have a better contender for the English Premier League title than they were last season because after I saw how tactically disciplined the entire team was, I made my conclusion about the team. Their consistent results since then has gone a long way to validate my opinion about the team. On Saturday, they defeated Brighton by two goals to nil but could've have had a better scoreline if they converted most of their clear chances in the game. The win keeps them at the top of the league table after the final games of match week 17 has been played as former league leaders Liverpool failed to beat Manchester United yesterday at Anfield.

It was the mindset of last time winning of Liverpool over Manchester United with high margin of goals as 7 goals that made many people predicted that Liverpool will demolish Manchester United. Besides, when Manchester United ate 7 goals from Liverpool, Manchester United was more inform than they are today. So, many people have thought that since Liverpool was able to beat Manchester United 7 goals even when Manchester United was inform, it therefore means that they will score upto 12 goals this time.


Despite Liverpool inability to win Manchester United, it does not make them weaker contenders of the English premier League title. Liverpool is a club that hardly slide when they are clearly ahead. If it were Arsenal, I would have my doubts but Liverpool is equal to the task.

In this season champions league, if I am not wrong or making unreal assumptions, no one is expecting PSG to win the champions league. When Messi finally joined both Neymar and Messi to form the strongest trio it didn't also happen. So for now no one is tipping that PSG will win the champions league. If they are not even lucky in the draws, they can just exit in the next round. The hope of PSG this season is just their entitlement ligue 1 trophy and why they are optimistic about the trophy is because there is no strong contender on the ligue, if there was, they won't deserve any trophy this season.

Some gamblers actually stake more than they should. They most times make their decision to stake high due to their peer group or friends who is in the constant habit of spending more. I don't know whether it will be fine to say that Manchester United team B is better than Team A. The absence of Bruno wasn't felt in the midfield and the boys fought a good fight against the better side. I must give them their credit.

As earlier predicted, Bayer Leverkusen are currently in full control of the game against Eintracht Frankfurt thanks to Victor Boniface goal in the fourteenth minute of the game. Bayer Leverkusen who finished as the winners of their group in the UEFA Europa League competition knows that they are not gonna play any European game again until February hence the reason to concentrate on the German Bundesliga and further extend their lead at the top of the league. The Xabi Alonso team are yet to lose a game in the Bundesliga since the start of the season and are currently leading in the league standings but they know that to maintain their position, they'll have to keep winning more games than second placed Bayern Munich.

Eintracht Frankfurt aren't sitting deep to defend all game as they've also made some good attacking moves which unfortunately hasn't been fruitful. Bayer Leverkusen are playing in front of their home fans who's been very supportive since the start of the season and with the kind of rousing chants I'm hearing from stands, I don't think Leverkusen would want to to let their fans down by dropping any point in this game.

Undoubtedly, Andre Onana has made series of mistakes since the start of the season that's caused Manchu United valuable points both in the league as well as in the UEFA Champions League competition but let's also not forget that there are games that his good goalkeeping performance saved Manchester United from losing games just like the Manchester United home game against Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League competition. Manchester United's decline in form this season shouldn't be entirely blamed on Onana but the entire team if you ask me because almost all the members of the club squad are underperforming. We saw Andre Onana at Inter Milan last season and how good of a goalkeeper he was for the Inter Milan team as well as his days at Dutch club Ajax and we all saw that his performance in those two club's were outstanding. A good goal keeper needs a good defense to be able to perform well and Manchester United's defense line isn't giving Onana the kind of protection he's supposed to get from them hence the poor performances.

He's yet to concede a goal in their game against Liverpool that's currently ongoing because the team's defence is performing well. Hopefully for Manchester United, they might finish the game without conceding a goal

Casemiro has won every trophy that's expected from a footballer and his current age abd performance isn't as good as it used to be and that's why I think a move to the Saudi League would be a better choice for the Brazilian than joining another European club if he decides to leave his current club Manchester United. The competition in the Saudi  Pro League is undoubtedly a very strong one but not as strong as that of any of the top five leagues in Europe. Again, the Saudi clubs offer very good financial packages for players of Casemiro's status so joining them will help him earn more money than he'll earn in any European club at the moment as well help Manchester United to make a lot of money from his sales than they can make of he joins another European club.

Cristiano Ronaldo was Casemiro's teammate at Real Madrid as well as in Manchester United and I'm sure he'll definitely want to convince his club Al Nassr to bring Ronaldo to the club.

Robert Lewandowski is undoubtedly one of the best centre forwards in football for over the past decade and I don't think there's anyone who's followed his development from his days at Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich where he won most of his club football trophies and individual awards and finally down to last year that he joined Barcelona that is ever gonna dispute the fact that he's was nightmare of opposition defenders in his prime. Lewandowski after joining Barcelona last year delivered a great performance in his first season with the club as he helped the club to win the Spanish La Liga title but has failed to replicate same feat this season largely because of injuries cases that's kept him sidelined in most part of the already season.

There's been a lot of reports from different sports media platforms that the Poland legend is linked with a move to the Saudi League next summer and o think it'll be good move for the veteran who I don't think can deliver the kind of performances he had in the years past. The Saudi League is not as competitive as the leagues in Europe and so I think a move to the middle East wouldn't be a bad idea for Lewandowski.

After the draw for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League was made, I was of the opinion that Copenhagen were gonna finish the group stage in the last position of the group A and that's because of the fact that the other three teams on the group are better than Copenhagen on papers but the Danish side had another thought about what they can achieve and the team spirit in the club was one of the factors that helped them reach the knockout stages of the competition alongside side group winners Bayern Munich while teams like Manchester United and Galatasaray couldn't stop Copenhagen from progressing out of the group.

Anyone who's seen the tactical and technical abilities of Erik Ten Hag before he joined Manchester United would never think that he's the kind of quality manager that should be compared to Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp. Erik Ten Hag before he joined Manchester United was undoubtedly a good manager but doesn't in any way fall in the category of Pep Guardiola. Manchester United's performance in the UEFA Champions League competition this season was one of their worst in the history of the competition and Erik Ten Hag will definitely take much of the blames for his poor tactical approaches.

As a 4 times UEFA Champions League winner with Real Madrid, I don't there's any club in the Saudi Pro League that'll not be very happy to receive Casemiro if he decides to join the middle East based league. A lot of clubs in the Saudi are trying everything possible to sign high profile European based players to their league and if a midfield maestro like Casemiro decides to join the league, he'll definitely receive numerous offers from many clubs in the Saudi Arabian League. Since Casemiro joined Manchester United, he's not been as effective for the club like he was in his days at Real Madrid and that's because of the fact that he's aging if you ask me.

 Aaron Ramsdale's best season as an English Premier League goalkeeper was undoubtedly last season that he was delivered great goalkeeping performances for Arsenal as they fought for the English Premier League title which they lost to eventual winners Manchester City. Unfortunately for the Englishman, Arsenal manager decided to use David Raya as the club's first choice goalkeeper. However the manager's choice to use Raya instead of Ramsdale doesn't change the fact that Ramsdale is a very good goalkeeper. I wouldn't want to compare him to Manchester United's Andre Onana because I think the both goalkeepers are good in their own rights.

If Chelsea wants to sign Aaron Ramsdale to replace their injured goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, then k think it'll be a good transfer deal for the London club.

Juventus have been showing signs of a team that's determined to win the Italian Serie A title at the end of the season but their performance against Genoa today was absolutely the opposite of what we've seen from the in majority of the games they've played this season. After Federico Chiesa converted from the spot in the first half of the game, Juventus stopped pressing their opponents for a second goal rather they were absorbing the attacking moves from the home team Genoa. In the second half of the game, Genoa pressed further and were rewarded with a goal which was enough for them to claim a point from the crucial game. Victor Osimhen who scored one of his club's two goals in their last game in the group stage of UEFA Champions League that secured their place in the knockout stages of the competition during the week was on target again today as his Napoli defeated Calgliari. The win took Napoli back to the fourth position of the league table and a lot of people are of the opinion that Osimhen is back to his best again. The Nigeria international has been linked with a lot of clubs in Europe and if he can continue to perform well again this season like he did last season, I'm very optimistic that he's surely gonna leave the club next summer.

Monaco who many believes are gonna be one of the strongest rivals of Paris Saint Germaine for the French Ligue 1 title this season surprising lost at home today against a struggling Lyon in game many had predicted that hosts were gonna win comfortably. Considering the performance of Monaco since the start of the season, I was of the opinion that Monaco will not struggle in the game to grab all three points but little did I know that Lyon came with another plan to make sure they win the game. The defeat now leaves Monaco gives Paris Saint Germaine a good chance of further extending their lead at the top of the league standings.

In a game that saw both teams receive red cards, second placed Nice also lost to Le Havre in another surprise result in the league today and I think all these results will help PSG increase their point difference at top of the league of they can be able to win their game against Lille tomorrow.

Eintracht Frankfurt is one of the top performers in the German Bundesliga and I don't think any team in the league including Bayer Leverkusen would want to underestimate the strength of the team because of their ability to pull of surprises especially on games they're not favoured to win or get a good result in.  That being said, Bayer Leverkusen is undoubtedly the most consistent team in the league since the start of the season and I expect them to comfortably beat Eintracht Frankfurt when the league leaders host Frankfurt tomorrow afternoon. Bayer Leverkusen knows that the strength and depth in the Bayern Munich squad is enough to fight for the top spot till the end of the season and that's why they can't afford to lose any points now if they truly want to win the German Bundesliga title at the end if the season and that's I think they're definitely gonna be playing at their best tomorrow to further extend the gap at the top of the German league standings.


Borussia Dortmund who started their German Bundesliga campaign this season on a very good note seems to have lost their tactical strength to win games and get good results like they were doing at the start of the season. Against Augsburg today, Borussia Dortmund were wasteful in front of the goal after coming from a goal down to equalize in the first half of the game. Dortmund are currently out of the top four of the league and if they don't improve their performance, I don't think they can finish the season in the top four of the league.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is undoubtedly one of the best football managers ever in the history of football but judging from the current performance of the club in the English Premier League, I think he is acting like a man who doesn't know the best approach to bring his team back to winning ways again. City have dropped a lot of points since the start of the season and I don't think they're strong contenders to win the English Premier League title this season because they've not shown enough consistency and good results to show that they can end the season with the league title.

After Rico Lewis scored Manchester City's second goal of the game, I thought the team were gonna cruise to victory in front of the club's homes fans at the Etihad but Manchester City's defence allowed Jean-PhilIppe Mateta to convert from Jeffery Schlupps assist in the 76th minute to give the visitors hope of a come back before Michael Olise scored a stoppage time penalty to deny the citizens an important win. If Pep Guardiola doesn't improve the performance of his team in their coming league games, they might be struggling to finish in the top four of the English Premier League table at the end of the season and o don't think that's the kind of campaign the club would want to have after winning the treble last season.

I've read about numerous cases of match fixing and most of them I think are reported from small countries of the world. Fixing a match is mostly done by heavy gamblers and it was common in the olden days of football because the current technological advancements will expose moments that'll make football governing body FIFA to know teams that are into match fixing.  When it was common in football, match fixing was one of the main factors that was killing the excitement in football but thanks to heavy punishments from FIFA against any club or national team that engages in match fixing, it's now a rare to find it in modern day football especially in the European leagues.

Football is very interesting and the most talked about kind of sports because of the fun that comes with surprising results that was very unpredictable before the kick off of football games but when match fixing is involved I football, it becomes a very boring sports.

I am not so much thrilled about the champions league since Newcastle was unable to make it through the group stage of the champions league. They were new and I wished them well but it is unfortunate that they entered into a difficult group. Assuming they got a group like that of Manchester United, they would still have been in the Champions League by now.


I can say that Manchester city does not possess the super power that bookmakers are seeing them to posses. They are less powerful than last season. If Real Madrid players are to return from injury, they will become the favourites to win the champions league. I don't know why Bayern is rated high by the bookmakers.
