7701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Deal with worst Market on: February 20, 2020, 09:42:50 PM
Best way is to keep vigilant and learn from the market trends, also market lows are a good time to re-assess whether its worth investing time and effort dedicated to one crypto or whether is best to switch to a different one.

In either case, keeping a close eye on the market will usually give you a good indication if you need to hold or sell, and for some these are opportune moments.
7702  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Quantam: How Long Before Computers Crack Private Keys on: February 20, 2020, 09:38:59 PM
In my opinion, the time expected for computers to crack down private keys is dependent on the computing power and since that is limited due to our current technology . not much could be said after that. What's clear, however, is that once one builds up or manages to access as much computer power as required to compute all the different pattern permutations the security will be entirely breached.

Though, this is requires an enormous amount of energy, and also resources we currently don't have, and are in the process of just about understanding what they are.
So it will take at least 10-20 years before private keys become useless.
7703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than your bank! on: February 20, 2020, 09:34:04 PM
Every service has its own benefits and drawbacks, in the case on cryptocurrencies the benefits are obvious where decentralisation allows greater flexibility as well as anonymity, and of course, control. The drawbacks are quite simple really, no security regulations outside of the blockchain technology.

Institutional banks on the other hand, are very regulatory and some could describe them as quite secure but the openness, transparency and control over the account go out the window, as in this instance these are only in the power of the banks.

So its pretty obvious that crypto is the way forward, and the reason for this is that it's much more efficient, cheaper in the long run and much more easily automated.
7704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does Regulation really means? on: February 20, 2020, 01:56:41 PM
Regulation as I understand is just the freedom to operate in the legislated country, and so long as that's lawfully allowed in that country, when a profit is made from your trade or crypto activities, one should add that to their tax, the opposite is also true for a loss. Most people, however,  tend to apply this only when cashing out as only then the transactions will be traceable through the owner's bank account (sure, this can be avoided if cash is taken out straight away).

However, as far as regulations go in the space of crypto, it does not protect either person on either end, buying or selling, and this is because these putative fraudulent activities are embedded, if you like, on the blockchain. And so because of the complexity of the blockchain technology, thus far the government has not created an infrastructure whereby they're able to provide any form of protection.

In other words, all the legislation allows you to do is to use crypto in whichever way you want and when profit is derived from it this should be declared but that's yet, it doesn't extend any further than that.
7705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoins Should Be Watched Closely in 2020 on: February 18, 2020, 10:05:46 PM
I’m not sure that you should continue to look towards alternative coins, especially in 2020.
As practice shows, these types of assets are extremely unstable and in order to really make money on them you must clearly understand which of the assets will be capable of growth in the future.
Because Bitcoin itself is constantly making adjustments to the entire crypto market, which greatly complicates the planning of investment moves.

Not quite sure about that, most major altcoins are still in a huge profit compared to their ICO price.

Sure, a few are down significantly in the last 2 years, but that's because of a bullshit rally in 2017.

You can't compare an anomaly to natural growth.
7706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction Finality on Bitcoin on: February 18, 2020, 09:48:04 PM
As I understand, transactions are only as final as the network is secure.

The deeper a transaction is rooted in the blockchain, the more difficult it is to modify, since it would require more work to achieve.

This is because a large number of blocks would need to be undone by the attacker. Because of this, surface level blocks (e.g. ones that were just finalized) are more vulnerable to a majority attack, while a more sustained attack might be able to alter blocks from a few hours ago. Most platforms bank on the fact that such an attack would be thwarted well before older transactions are modified.
7707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Leave gambling, if it destroys you. on: February 18, 2020, 07:18:54 PM
Gambling can only be seeing as a fun only when you are playing the game with not your real money. This just happened to me recently when I was playing gambling on a particular gambling site, at the initial stage when I was using the airdrop they gave me it was really fun and I was making it but when I deposited my on money and started playing gambling it was not fun anymore because I was losing my real money.

Not really.

Plenty of people have fun when gambling with real money, the thrill comes as part of risk.

There is no risk when you're gambling with fake money.

Even if you lose your money it can still be considered fun if you're in it for the thrill and suspense, rather than the profit.

If you want to make huge profits, play the lottery.
7708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE FUTURE OF CNB COIN! on: February 18, 2020, 07:09:20 PM
Lmao, stay away from this junk coin, they're obviously going to try to shill their coin because they directly benefit from the sales.

Never take the word of anybody who is directly involved in a project as truth. They always see the project through rose-tinted glasses and will often straight-up lie to gain investment.

If you want to find promising projects, look at the small cap coins tracked by bletchleyindexes.com, these have done well recently.
7709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest winning so far on: February 18, 2020, 05:58:22 PM
Congratulations, you won a good jackpot. Unfortunately I have nothing to brag about, this year I almost did not start gambling.
However, one case was still there and it ended in failure. I lost about $ 100. I think that in the near future I will hold several gambling sessions and try to restore my position.

You should never chase your losses back bro.

Just accept the loss and move on, it's fine to start from a negative position, but if you go chasing your losses you will end up making poor decisions that will cause you even deeper losses.

Just enjoy the game and keep it casual.
7710  Economy / Gambling / Re: GameCash.io - Colonel Blotto Game - BTC | ETH | ShapeShift on: February 18, 2020, 05:37:55 PM
Looks like a solid game, I'll be giving this a try later today.

You might want to rethink specifying the exact number of users you've got and max winnings in your ANN image though, since this is going to grow in future and will confuse people into thinking the plaform is smaller than it actually is.
7711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 18, 2020, 03:54:30 PM

The first fight it was Fury who won it but corrupt judges scored a draw to preserve their boy Wilder as obviously he can make more money than Fury or wilder is a good market than fury.

This rematch is to cut that controversy, and maybe Fury only said he will knock out Wilder as he doesn't want to get rob again, the question is can he really do that, if he gets aggressive in the fight, the advantage will be on  Wilder as he likes to fight toe to toe.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that the judges were corrupt. Judges look for different things and score things differently, it's just human bias, that's why there are three judges.

Fury is definitely not going knock Wilder out though lol, he's just saying that to get into his head. Everybody knows Fury would get demolished if it comes to a swingup.

It's going to go to decision again if Wilder doesn't know him out. If Fury can avoid touching the canvas, he wont need to worry about getting robbed on points again.

Though if he somehow gets another draw, then we can start calling corruption.
7712  Economy / Gambling / Re: UK Gambling Commission mysteriously suspends Matchbook casino licence on: February 18, 2020, 03:36:19 PM
Usually when something like this happens it's because the regulatory body is unable to release further information for a variety of reasons. The actual cause behind the suspension is likely valid though, since these organizations don't mess around.

Most likely there is a criminal or civil case going on, or the casino is currently being investigated by the police. As such, releasing the information why could compromise the criminal investigation.

In any case, I'd avoid this place and any related casinos for now.
7713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 17, 2020, 09:46:11 PM
Its quite entertaining to look for that kind of aggression but going too much or overboard isnt already appealing.I agree that most of boxers nowadays are not really that aggressive compared on previous decades.

Im not saying im underestimating the current generation but i dont really believe that Fury would able to beat up Tyson on his 80's? I can already foreshadow on what would happen.  Grin

Well, to be honest it's quite possible to be cool and composed and still be an absolute nightmare. So I don't even know if aggression matters that much. If anything, it could make boxers act reckless during their fights.

I'd still lean towards Mike Tyson against practically every heavyweight now though, not because he was aggressive, but because he was a straight up monster.

Anybody else love the design of this game? Definitely among the most gorgeous dice sites I've seen so far.

I'd love to see what else Wolf.bet have up their sleeves, no doubt they're already working on their next title as we speak!
7715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done for you? on: February 17, 2020, 02:46:02 PM
Personally, Bitcoin hasn't done a huge amount for me. Most of the time I invest in cryptocurrency, it just happens to be at the wrong time so I end up in a loss.

With that said, I do acknowledge what Bitcoin stands for in the long-run, and what blockchain-based currencies stand to do to modern finance.

Because of that, I don't mind losing some money to help support this growing ecosystem. I know that someday it will be worth the losses.
7716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Earn Bitcoin in 2020 on: February 17, 2020, 12:52:00 AM
Playing at crypto casinos is a way to earn, I didn't know that somebody considered gambling in this sense. How can online gaming platform be used for making profit? It isn't reliable.

How can you first say playing at casinos are a way to earn, and then immediately contradict yourself?

Yes, casinos are one of many ways to earn, but you need to know that the house edge is always against you.

Similarly, most traders lose money because they've got no idea what they're doing.
7717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig W. only claims to be Satoshi, because he knows the real Satoshi is dead? on: February 16, 2020, 11:56:08 PM
Let's not ascribe CSW any more credit than he is due.

It's quite clear that he simply took advantage of the early naivete of the community and lack of blockchain analytics platforms back in the day, to falsely claim that he is Satoshi in order to manipulate the market.

He's a straight-up fraud and not worth discussing. He'll be in jail soon enough, since he tried to co-opt the identity of another individual.
7718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crowded Casinos - Play or not? on: February 16, 2020, 11:37:04 PM
Realistically, if a casino isn't crowded, then they're doing something wrong.

This could either mean they're not in a popular location, or they don't play fair.

Also, it could mean that their house edge is too high.

Likewise, having too few punters could force the casino to drive its house edge up, thereby making it less desirable to play at.

I'd avoid a place that isn't crowded tbh.
7719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC ATM's installation and business model, any advice? on: February 16, 2020, 11:16:22 PM
Most of the premium spots have already been taken up, and if you're forced to franchise or lease one, then you'll come across clauses that means you can't place your unit within X distance of another Bitcoin atm.

As for how much you'll earn, you should try contacting other Bitcoin ATM providers and ask how much they earn. Then you'll need to estimate whether you're likely to get the same numbers where you end up placing your unit.
7720  Economy / Gambling / Re: 9HORSES THE BEST SLOT GAME WEBSITE on: February 16, 2020, 04:57:35 PM
Looks like the OP made a hit-and-run. Most likely he won't be returning to this thread since he was last seen 14 minutes after posting.

Well he did only appear for the first time yesterday, so we can't say for sure yet.

That said, based on the amount of negative attention he has already drawn for his trash platform, I can't imagine that he'll be desperate to come back any time soon.

With that in mind, people should avoid this 9Horses platform until it is proven genuine. There are a huge number of trustworthy platforms here on the forum, so there's no need to resort to trash platforms like this.
