I just came across this site. Saw the Peercoin guys talking about it.
Can someone tell me what is different here? Seems the only way I can get in is by registering with email.. which I do not want to go through just for the sake of checking them out.
7822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: generating unlimited address from same wallet ? on: November 08, 2019, 09:53:30 PM

I guess i'm lucky this isn't my project because i'm already getting anxious from just reading this. How exactly are you assigning a deposit adress to each user? "randomly"? I just don't see how you can do this efficiently with electrum... anyway... just curious.

yes i used just that when the above gave python loop, and yes i already did that successfully, and i did it without demons or rpc.

basically i created a tool to derive keys from the master key and now each address is mapped to user id  so no address is reused and cause confusion, while i can still do the bulk transaction to and from the address.

and it would be still working well with electrum, mind that it takes considerable more time loading transactions from 1000 address, anyways i will be trying 10000 address next !  ill post updates here !

I really don't get it.
How is your mapping of addresses to each user id going to prevent reuse? If that is the case then the user could simply redeposit in that address and have the balance show up for him?
I really don't understand why you want to waste $880 on an experiment that could be done for free and still give you the same observations.

Why on Earth are you posting this on Project development when you should be posting this in Altcoins bounty campaigns?
And I don't think you can stand at the end of 2019 and call your brand new crypto coin the first of anything. Especially not the first deflationary coin. And with you intermingling the word deflation with inflation is giving me some serious headache.
7824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: generating unlimited address from same wallet ? on: October 31, 2019, 07:48:56 PM
Cant you use checkgap api? and generate new addresses only when they unspent ones are paid? Like by creating a transaction on the last unspent address? Although this can turn out expensive and messy to maintain.

I recently upvoted a solution to a similar question. Read here https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/74410/blockchain-address-gap-limit-solution
7825  Other / Meta / Re: Unban Appeal from BitDeer.com on: October 26, 2019, 11:39:51 AM
I did not know BitDeer was banned on Bitcointalk. And looking into the explanation made by Lightlord it seems like a clear case of plagiarism at first sight.
But now that I hear their side of the story, I can totally understand the real picture.

My main concern is the reason for the ban. Was it purely because the supposedly copied a design? or was it something else? Could moderators make a clear stance on this?
I've said it before and I'll say it again :-

Quote
99.99% of Cloudmining websites that you see on the internet are nothing but a ponzi scheme or a honey trap. You will lose your money no matter what.
Only a few turn out to be good, genesis mining, hashnest, Bitdeer and a few others. Beyond these big names, all the small ones are pretty much scam and the further you stay away from them, the better it is for you.

Being one of the few legit and big ones out there,it doesn't look right to ban their account like this for what could really be an honest mistake. And I think they should be given a 2nd chance.

NOTE : THIS IS IN NO WAY AN ENDORSEMENT AND I AM NOT BEING PAID BY BITDEER TO SAY THIS. JUST MY TWO CENTS.

7826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet reader on: October 26, 2019, 08:29:38 AM
Since you didn't reply within the last 4 days, can we assume that you find what you were searching for?

Why would you presume anything, since you don't have what it takes to do such in the first place and be accurate? You are just speculating in the absence of being able apparently to do anything more than that. Pure conjecture.

He has a good point to make that assumption unlike you who's just being a dick.
People come ask questions and disappear when they find their solutions without ever bothering to tell others that hey guys, I got my answer here is the solution. It helps the people who might have otherwise wasted their time thinking up or doing research and at the same time it would help others in the same situation. Like me. I wanted a proper solution to this as well. Without going the public watch only address route.

Bottom line, quit being a dick.
7827  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is controlled not just manipulated but controlled on: October 22, 2019, 08:03:50 AM
I don't think you understand how bots work or what is the logic behind their buy sell movements. Selling and buying through bots do not give them infinite free money, they are still limited by the amount the bot controller has. If the bots do not have money, they cannot be selling or buying anything.
7828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Coins are a Threat for Bitcoin? on: October 22, 2019, 05:29:18 AM
No I do not see them as a thread but as a boon for the crypto economy. Stable coins can do things that Bitcoin or most major altcoins cannot do. That is to take care of the day to day transaction of everyday people and to provide a stable vehicle for people to park their money in times of instability.
Think of it like, if Bitcoin is a Bus, Altcoins are the steering and stablecoins are the wheels. They are not a threat but a necessity for the bus to run.
7829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum and Satoshi on: October 22, 2019, 04:31:01 AM
Now fashionable to call themselves Satoshi Nakamoto and to prove that he real in court as Craig Wright, but why if he indeed real he not writes nothing on bitcointalk, on forum where he first time uploaded information about its coin bitcoin? What do you think?

Before you think about Satoshi, you should consider improving your English. Or at least learn to use the correct grammar to write sentences that make sense. And seriously, people should forget about Satoshi. He wants to be left in peace so let the man be in peace. He is gone and he is not coming back. (Unless he changes his mind). And people like Craig are scammers, imposers and people should not be bothered with whatever the fuck he says. He really makes Australia look bad.

I don't get it. Why do you want to do it? What do you get out of it? is it some kind or trick or promo? If you told me now, it would help me decide whether to be a part of this or not.
7831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Who has a NXT wallet? on: October 21, 2019, 07:46:29 PM
For a second I thought he was talking about WWE wrestling. At any rate, if the exchange does not allow a withdrawal, I don't think there is any way the OP could export the funds out of the exchange. That is the problem with most IEO's these days. This protects the value of the asset in the short term, but in a forced way. Not really in line with the crypto mentality of freedom.
7832  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: October 21, 2019, 07:33:59 PM
Don't judge me. Not an artist. This is supposed to reflect the current state of this forum that has more altcoin talkers than Bitcoin.

7833  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for Bounty Announcement pages on: October 21, 2019, 07:19:27 PM
I wonder how the OP was able to navigate to this section of the forum and somehow needed help finding the Bounties and Altcoin section? Like it isn't hidden under a secret door or something..
7834  Other / Meta / Re: Italian board doesn't work on: October 21, 2019, 06:57:15 PM
Got it, I didn't think about cleaning cache, I thougt it was an universal problem as some days ago forum was down. Thank you all.

Next time if a particular url is inaccessible to you, try using it in the https://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com website. If it is not a local issue to you, it should load up fine with this site and it'd let you know. If the URL is inaccessible universally, it would tell you that too.

The thing is I think you are a shit poster. Someone who talks a lot without actually adding any value to your posts. But hey I could be wrong,I barely know you and I apologize in advance if these words hurt you.
7836  Other / Meta / Re: Creating an Altcoin Technical Discussion Board on: October 20, 2019, 11:23:05 PM
This has a higher chance of getting approved.
I don't think so it would get approved.

This was a topic started by me last year requesting for a Altcoin Technical Section : Can we have a separate board for Altcoin Technical Support & Discussion ?

P.S All the attempts requesting for a Alt Tech board has resulted in a failure till now  Sad

That's what i think as well, additionally there's no moderator or potential moderator who :
1. Have sufficient technical knowledge to identify pseudo-knowledge
2. Can be neutral when moderate controversial topic (such as on-chain/off-chain scaling and PoW/PoS)
3. Interested to moderate this suggested board

I agree. I wouldnt want to leave this forum and go to some other forum only to find my email id / password leaked or sold off during some hack attempts. Which is entirely very common for small forums like those.

Temporary email and different password for each website could solve your concern.

I personally know two people that would kill each other debating over PoW and PoS it would not be very hard to find someone from the technical bitcoin boards to be a mod here. At first it can be a global mod board too. Much like your Indian section.
I know mods here like to remain neutral, it can be a character trait that can be looked for if there was an active interest in getting things moving in the right way. Sad that no attempts before have resulted in anything good, so why don't we try something that lets us make a stronger case this time around?
7837  Other / Meta / Re: Creating an Altcoin Technical Discussion Board on: October 19, 2019, 06:36:01 PM
There is a seperate Ethereum and other Altcoin based Forum on Altcoins Talks forum. I think we can create a Techincal discussion board on that Forum. Altcoins Talks is a Cryptocurrency forum specifically for discussions related to Altcoins. Instead of creating a board on Bitcointalk, you can create a board on Altcointalk.

The two forums aren't managed by the same individuals that's theymos doesn't have control over what happens on that forum. If there was any forum that needs an altcoin technical discussion, it would be Bitcointalk as altcointalk is just filled with spams and copy paste posts been discussed on bitcointalk. Bitcointalk is a host to more individual which can be accounted for technical discussion.

I agree. I wouldnt want to leave this forum and go to some other forum only to find my email id / password leaked or sold off during some hack attempts. Which is entirely very common for small forums like those.
7838  Other / Meta / Re: Creating an Altcoin Technical Discussion Board on: October 19, 2019, 02:14:29 AM
Thank you guys for the support you are showing to this topic. Let's continue to have a healthy discussion on why we need a technical board for all altcoins rather than scattered threads here and there that are really hard to distinguish from financial, ico, bounty chatter.

The obvious solution would be to report the 14 threads to be moved to speculation, perhaps some others can be trashcanned for being shit - and there's room for technical discussion. Inside technical threads any shitposts should be reported too until shitposters learn that they shouldn't step into anything that has unknown words in it. A new board wouldn't magically solve this problem anyway - it would still rely on reports and moderators to stay clean.

It would have been much easier to do that if the reporting process was any easier. Right now it takes too much effort to report a mere shitpost.
7839  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: October 18, 2019, 12:56:15 AM
I suggest you create a pool for prize where every Bitcointalk whale can pitch in for the prize money. 1 btc may seem a lot but given the number of people that are on Bitcointalk, it might be too little. Say if some old time donors or vip members decided to get generous, they can pitch in to this pool.

In fact - we could do this yearly. It could be a good way for new established projects to sponsor some creativity in this forum. But we can discuss that later in another thread.
7840  Other / Meta / Re: Creating an Altcoin Technical Discussion Board on: October 18, 2019, 12:39:04 AM
Usually the threshold for creating a new board would be if a certain category of threads crowd out most of an existing board. So for example if technical threads take up 50%+ of Altcoin Discussion you might have a case. But I don't think that's happening. Alternatively, perhaps some other category is dominating Altcoin Discussion and can be split off, leaving Altcoin Discussion for more technical threads, but I don't see that either.

It is not happening because altcoin discussion thread is inundated with signature spammers. It is not happening because there is no space for it to happen. Not the other way around. There are boards for off topic here and there are board for regional languages which are almost always dead. So why not something that let's people discuss the technical things with more ease. I know some people like ETF, Dannyhamilton, etc never leave the technical and project development parts. If a new board existed, it would give us altcoiners a chance to get our queries resolved by them. Not that it cannot happen now, but getting noticed for a technical point among a sea of shit posters is like being the lucky needle in a stack of hay.
