4601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hopeful Noob Miner on: July 05, 2016, 08:34:13 PM
Ethereum is probably the best altcoin to mine right now with GPU. You've fine specs computer system and you'll only need a good graphics card to get started with. AMD cards are generally more better than nVidia for ether mining, with a few exceptions. I'd recommend R9 280X or you may wait for R9 470, as I'm guessing that it'd be definitely worth it. What's your budget for the GPU BTW?

What's the price of unit/kWh at your side? It needs to be less than like 25 cents.

The US average is around .12 i think. I'm not the one who pays for the electricity where i live, but i believe it's .09. And i'll be moving soon, so that is subject to change. I'm a bit poor atm, but if the card will pay for itself before long and generate income, then the start up cost isn't too much of a problem. At least for my first experiment i'd want to stay under $400. If everything goes well, i can always reinvest my earnings.

Well the unit cost is pretty good, you can make some good profit. Ether value is pretty down right now, but I'm sure that it'd be back up soon. $400 for a single card is a good budget, you may also start with 2 R9 280x cards.

4603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 1GB for Mining ETH on: July 03, 2016, 10:47:50 PM
Forget the mining with a notebook, no matter if you manage to get a very good dedicated graphics card in a laptop, you won't be able to mine anything with that. In result, you're only gonna burn off your notebook.

The only way you can enter the altcoin GPU mining world is by buying an average CPU with a good PSU and GPU. Search a lot about the GPU before purchasing it, in this section of forums, you can find some good information about the mining specs of graphics card you'd like to purchase. You should have like ~$200 budget for the card BTW.
4604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's your kWh price while mining Ethers with GPU? on: July 03, 2016, 10:43:02 PM
2.5 cents per kilowatt here.. woot!!

LOL, that makes my mouth watery. What's the place BTW?

~.010 per kwh

Texas, US

Which power company are you using? I asked one of my relatives in Texas, US about the price of each kWh and they told me $0.16.
4605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Need Help] How do you know which coin is the most profitable? on: July 03, 2016, 01:49:06 PM
currently most profitable are FTC, Mona, VTC and ETH, then you have some times Spreadcoin and you have a secret one called SIA, but this one has a huge variance if you don't have a proper farm, because there are no pool

at present SIA is the most profitable at least 50% higher than ethereum and other

Siacoin? Have you actually moved from mining ethereum to mining siacoins with your GPU's? Pretty much interested in trying it, gonna try it today for sure.
4606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's your kWh price while mining Ethers with GPU? on: July 03, 2016, 11:18:50 AM
Unfortunately, I have to pay 22 cents per kWh. I'm still in profit. Even if someday I'm in loss, I'll continue to mine, because I know that someday one bitcoin will be worth 10 000$ and because it will be a kind of way to convert fiat into bitcoins.

So... you mine ethers and convert them into bitcoin at once? Well if you ask me about that, I just keep ethereum as I think it'll touch some good point before bitcoin, if it resists the current problems. It is being funded a lot.

I would like to add:

Please tell the country at least Smiley

I'm in Midwest US

Price ~12c per kWh

Yeah, I should ask that, lemme edit the first post.
4607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What's your kWh price while mining Ethers with GPU? on: July 02, 2016, 11:57:57 AM
What's your kWh price while mining Ethers with GPU? Are you able to get any profit? It would be great if you could name your country as well.

I've to pay $0.15 per kWh, and still able to get out some profit with my GPU mining. With the current mining difficulty, I'd continue to get some profit as long as the value of ethereum remains above $9.
4608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon released RX 480. (Card is Released) on: July 02, 2016, 11:52:58 AM
This is what I came home to today.

Were you using RX 480 graphic card with that motherboard? What temperature were you getting with it? Definitely curious to know that... Roll Eyes
4609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU's For Mining? on: July 02, 2016, 01:41:17 AM
so it seems that the new 470 is better than the 480? same bus but less consumption

I definitely believe that. 470 is gonna be much better than 480 for GPU mining, with less than 50 watts of power consumption. 480 hasn't proved much to be too good for mining, but I'm pretty positive for the 470 and would definitely wait for it to arrive here at my place.

Fight the chargebacks, that's the only way for you. Sorry to say but no fool is going to like your idea and be in the middle. Try to win the disputes, and you should be able to win them if you're selling something good and legal.
4611  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best online wallet on: June 29, 2016, 07:57:04 PM
The best online wallet avaliable is coinbase.com!
They are a free service, conditionally insure the currency stored there, DDOS protection and they cover the transaction fees.
They are also a fairly trusted site on this forum.

There are also oter online wallets suh as yobit and blockchain.info but these, I feel, are less reliable!

Well I'm amazed that they cover the transaction fees. I've been using blockchain.info for a long time and have processed almost 200 transactions, with their standard fee of 0.0001. So if I had used coinbase.com all this time, I'd have saved 0.02 BTC.

4613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should I mine on: June 28, 2016, 11:23:36 PM
There are  a few new alt coins that pop up every now and then, which run on different algos so GPU miners stand a chance. Check out the ANN forum to see.

No altcoin is worthy enough to mine yet except for the ethereum, specially with the graphics card. If you try to mine any other altcoin, you'll make some loss or if you get some profit, it'd be half of what ethereum would provide (I've tried many alts other than ethereum).
4614  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still have time to reach the 21 BTC goal? on: June 28, 2016, 11:13:10 PM
I don't think so that I'll be able to reach that goal in at least next 1-2 years, unless bitcoin's value crashes a bit and I buy some with my own real-life wallet.

BTW, what's with the value? Why don't you round off it to 20?
4615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon released RX 480. on: June 28, 2016, 06:51:39 PM
in my crappy country rx 480 version with 8GB is 366$, fUc.K you distributors
In my it is about 400$ :s

Here it is $330. I'm finding a website to purchase it from and get it through DHL. I'm pretty sure that I'd get it at a cheaper price this way.

Any suggestions from where I can get this card?
4616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which GPU to purchase with $200 for Ethereum mining? on: June 27, 2016, 01:32:50 PM
will 8G vRAM make any difference from 4G for the ethereum mining? I have planned to get 2X480 to start, noob about this.

If the ethereum PoW finishes within a year as planned, a 4GB card will be more than enough to mine it.

I think it is better to buy the 4GB cards. It will consumes less energy as it has only 4GB memory compared to 8GB.

Exactly... that's what I've judged too. The hash rate is not much different of same model graphic card with different memories.
4617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin address & it's private key... Is that all what's required? on: June 26, 2016, 09:02:43 PM
I would keep a 'watch only' address with just your public key imported. That way no one has access to your coins ever. I'd suggest making a paper wallet offline, on a brand new OS (Ubuntu Live USB) for maximum security. The only way they could have access would be to brute-force your wallet (so close to impossible it's not really an option) or find the paper wallet you have printed out and important the private key (just make sure you hide it/lock it up in your house. In the very unlikely event someone found it they would need to know what Bitcoins are and how to use them!)

Well that solution is pretty close to what I wrote. All I'll have to do is to input my public key in my blockchain.info wallet which will help me to track the record of the wallet, and about the private key, I'll just write it down or maybe print it down on a piece of paper. Moreover, to avoid any further risk, I'll keep the wallet.dat file as well on a CD which won't be used normally.
4618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin address & it's private key... Is that all what's required? on: June 26, 2016, 08:26:34 PM
Because of the risk of keeping bitcoins online, I decided to take them out of BlockChain.info and keep them in off-line wallet. I remember I once input my off-line bitcoin wallet through my private key and bitcoin address into the blockchain online wallet, as I wasn't able to download the off-line wallet data (synchronizing).

So, I want to ask... If I don't want to send my bitcoins (and only receive them), is it safe to just & just keep it's address & the private key? Then delete off the bitcoin software as well along with the wallet.dat? As I don't see the point of keeping the backup file wallet.dat if you have the address & private key. Once I'll need to spend them, I'd simply input the wallet address & private key to some online web wallet such as blockchain.
4619  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: How Faucets website is getting earning... on: June 25, 2016, 10:38:17 PM
Freebitco.in, one of the biggest faucet earning websites, has been using Google Adsense since start. It really bugs me that how come Google is allowing the advertisements to be on it. It is extremely clear in ToS of Adsense that any website relating to earning of money online is not allowed (which even involves the GPT websites).

Anyways, one may use Google Adsense in start, but must keep in mind that eventually the account would get suspended. However, if, someone manages to keep Adsense ads running on the faucet with a bit of popularity of the faucet, I'm pretty sure that he'd be earning a bunch of profit.
4620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: LiteCoin/ ETH mining? on: June 25, 2016, 07:55:59 PM
First of all, forget the Litecoin mining. It's not profitable at all to mine it right now, especially if you have Ethereum available.

Now about the specifications of the computer you're about to purchase, see, CPU mining is not much profitable. So instead, take my suggestion and buy a core 2 duo instead of quad core, and the money which you'll save here, spend it on the budget of the GPU and buy a good one (I'd recommend R9 280X). Then you can mine ethers with your GPU.
