I agree, when the market is going down much better to hold it or if you have extra money just buy it, don't miss that opportunity because when the market goes up you'll gain more profit but it takes time i think. The market has really gone down enough and the fact is that it will soon get to a stage where it will end up bottoming out and the only thing left is to start testing the upper trends, but really I believe that this should be happening anytime soon anyway irrespective of the time the market takes to consolidate. A lot of people missed the road of great opportunity as a result of not being patient in the past, and if care is not taken, some people are already on that path as well right now by panic selling. Holding is one thing we can do, to earn more is second, third is to buy more, we can spend what we have in many ways, we have what do to in the times of big drops. What that means many people missed the road of great opportunity? That sounds like we could sell at top and to wait better times for buying, like in this times now? Opportunity is not lost, its still here around, everywhere around, you just need to know how to spot it and use it in your advantage. No one really knows when it will recover. Everyone are expecting that market should recover by this month. It just that FUDS and misfortune keeps happening lately. Hacking, banning of ads and etc etc. These kind of things cause panic to other holders. I will give it more 2 or 3 months and hope market will recover.

When summers come like every time, this or next one 50% chances, if not in 2020 definitely. Not too long ago price struggled to pass 500$, months passed before price get to that and months to climb to 1.000$. In 2017 things were waster, this week price is going up and down in whole 1.000$ range! Price will go up in months to come, maybe we will see 20.000$ only in the end of this year or in summer 2020, when ever it happen it will be great, but even better it would be to hold this price for months, this is great price. |

So yeah i'm just wondering whether can you make serious money with trading or is it more than not just gambling?
Are "pro traders" making millions, or are they barely getting by and need to sell their signals and such?
Not in a bull market anymore so i'm looking at trading as a way to make money, but not sure whether it actually works. Note i'm not complete newbie, but i was never really trading.
In the way of trading you probably gamble a little because yes we have a thing called risk. In certain possibilities you cant say if bitcoing will drop or increase as you trade. One morning price is low and you got a hint it will increase so it did but Tommorow you cant the calue of your coin decrease so that is risk in short sometimes you lost due market value that decreases. TIPS 1. Main lessosn study how value will increase and decrease. 2. Don't panic 3. As I said in the situation you will lost due to matket value that is low so in trading you should also hold. I think that holding is the big part of trading, if you don`t know when to hold and when to sell you will constantly lose money with trading. Your second suggestion to op should be the first maybe, don`t panic is easy to say when everything is good, but when market start to collapse don`t panic can`t find easy way to brain who screams cut your loses, cut your loses, are you waiting for zero. In my thinking trading was always like gambling, both have big risks if you wish to earn a lot. Pro traders that are making millions invest ten`s of millions, and they are making 10%, if you wish to invest 1.000$ and to make a million, that is 1000 times higher, what you think how much you need to risk to make that kind of profit? Main lesson is good, study, read, watch how it moves, where it moves, and try to figure it out where next step. Don`t think you will be good at it from beginning, but with practice you can make yourself better, good luck my friends. |

I earned on top, that was at 3.2 for me. That was nice spike up, I sold in the right moment, ripple was one of my best hits until now. I was thinking to wait more or to sell, and later I saw that sell decision was great. Now I have ripple again. I bought around 1$, but price is down more, I will buy more. Ripple will recover 3$ and rise more, they are working a lot on ripple and they are showing that, all market is quiet, prices are dropping more then they rise, but that will change until the end of the year and when market start to grow again ripple will grow too, now is the time for waiting.

Though social media news is good but sometimes its advisable to always get news from a liable source cause some news in the the social media are most times specylations and most times causes FUD. Same goes with the Media. I hear or see the news probably the last one, cause this forum is the best place and here you can find the most reliable news about crypto and what is happening around, but a bit late maybe. For me that is not so bad, I choose reliable news over fast and false news, and I like this place cause there is some expert to clear some things I don't understand. For my mid term trades I don't hurry to see news before others, its better to be last but well informed, that is what I think, but I get it that some people trade daily and they need fast informations. If I'm on their place I would be active on twitter and telegram, there are many people who give informations straight from developers. |

Suggestions would lead into speculations,what i do suggest is to start reading each whitepaper of every coin im the market,do a little background research,go to github find the developers activity ,check the profiles if these people are legit,team credibility? is the coin has a good working product/services? there you will morelikely know if the coin is worthy investment or not.
I wont be suggesting any coin so you will find it yourself which of these thousand shitcoins may give you good gains in the future.
Do not rely on people's suggestion because different people will have different point of views.
You are right, he needs to learn more about each altcoin and only like that he can find altcoin that is interesting for him. Most of the altcoins are new, not yet fully developed, we are investing in their future. I wouldn`t call them shitcoins, some of them are exactly that, but there are serious projects, with great teams behind, and amazing plans for the future, who succeed in realization will have a higher price then now in beta stage. Cause there are so many altcoins the best in my point of view is diversification, have more then one, maybe cause of that invest first in bitcoin and later buy with that bitcoins other altcoins, with each purchase save a bit of bitcoins in wallet with the rest buy some altcoin you like and like that for years. |

You need to have fingers in many things, like that you are protecting yourself if any of investments went wrong cause any reason. Scammers look for victims everywhere, this forum is not an exception. I see you wish to help, but signature or bounty campaign are the same, even managers can't guarantee that ico is legitimate. Even that word is making confusion, legit by what or whom? We need to be aware that some businesses fail, simply they didn't have customers. Legitimation doesn't mean much if business fail in some other aspects. He can check our signatures, he need to do his own research. All of them are going down, not just neo. Pay attention on this drops. almost all of them are going down every time except couple ones, last time maybe week ago litecoin was going up more then 10% while bitcoin and most of the others were going down. Yesterday and today similar situation, just nem, lisk, waves are gaining some value while all others are going down.
You need to be a wizard to earn from this fluctuations, that`s why I`m mid term or even long term trader. In this times the best we can do is to keep our position and maybe buy more, good times will come back again. I bought some coins on top, some of them are down more then 60%, but I don`t worry, I invest more on this price again. I learned the best how to that with ripple and iota, my first great long term trades, straighten you position if you believe in your investment and wait.

I go gambling for my boredom and also to relax and entertain myself, I don't bother to record my win/lose amounts but it's quite but now I stay away from that since nothing is good, just wasting my time as I have now some outlets for my spare time. I gamble for same reasons and I gamble a lot, maybe if I recorded my wins and loses from beginning I would know how much I won or lose, but I didn't and after so much gambling its impossible to know how much I won and lost. I think I'm in profit until bow, I probably won more then I lost, but there is no way for me to prove that. I don't know do I really want to know, I enjoy playing, and if I win that is great if I lose I always think more luck next time and when I have some money I return to same place and in most cases I win after couple times, that win is sometimes very big, sometimes I can barely cover my loses, but I always try to think positive, next time I will win a lot. |

Promising coin in thousand other new coins is something that is hard to find. In some moments I think that many of the coins will collapse soon after releasing, some will stay where they are and just couple good ones will rise a lot and join the top 100.
I wear bitcoin2 signature, I like that PoS structure, until now I wanted to participate in some of this PoS coins but I didn`t. This is my first one, I would like to earn some of them trough campaign, to buy some and to try to run my first masternode. Each of us have some picks, this is mine, and for now its going good, I wait they to release wallet and from that point I think development will take faster pace.

I must say that 2017 will not be the last best era of bitcoin but currently if we depend our prediction and estimation of future prices i think 2018 will not be as good as 2017 although i think it might touch almost its ATH, but being optimistic is not bad so better look for positive outcome and help to spread the good word about cryptocurrency in the community  Yes it will not the last era of bitcoin, once you invest in bitcoin for long term you will believe that its not stop from their. After many practice I found that mid term and long term trading are the best for me. You don't make profits everyday but after a lot of waiting some coins brought a lot of profit to me. Day trading is hard, I was losing a lpr of money, my timing was wrong in 80% of my trades and more. With mid and long term trading you choose when to sell and how much profit will satisfy you. Until now may waiting paid out a lot, some of the coins I hold for months before I saw profit, and even then I choose to sell or to hold more, couple times I made good decisions, couple times I sold to early, but its working for me I'm satisfied with my profits and that is the most important thing of all.

Just don't! When I see that someone doesn't know basic things and want to trade and earn money its clear to me that you will lose your money very fast. Just cause many of us here talk about trading doesn't mean that all of us earn from trading. You need to learn a lot, then you need a lot of practice with paper and pen before you start making profit with your trades, when I see what kind of questions you have its clear to all of us that you don't have a clue what is trading, learn that first then learn how to do a quick research, learn about bitcoin and altcoins, learn, learn, learn and after that think about starting to trade, before that nothing, you will just lose whst you have. |

I have been holding some altcoins since January 2018, But then the market crush hard and I am not able to sell my altcoins because I am in loss with these coins. Even I invested in more established coins like, Waves,strat,Iota,wabi but overall my portfolio is around 40% down so far. When I am able to see profit? Holding them for long term is worth my patient?  I suggest you to be patience. We are still at Q1 of 2018 which means there is a lot of time for us. Remember this if we will break another ATH at the middle of this year and this is my speculation. It seems you are new in the crypto space. If you are selling in loss and you will be regretting it later. Yes i dont wants to regret more, I sold my crypto currencies earlier when I was new into the crypto world. I used to sell bitcoins without any major in need of money but now I know the value of crypto. He need a lot of patience, he bought on tops in January, I have some coins from that time and I plan to hold it. Recovery and after that rise and profit can come in 2 years, more or less, we never know that. Will he be able to see profit this year, he and we I think yes but will you be satisfied with that profit or not is up to you. I aim on some profit, and I will not before that comes, I am ready to wait a lot for that to happen. |
