1661  Economy / Economics / Re: Propose to change terminology on: June 08, 2014, 06:12:09 AM
Since we are still in chasm we can easily change this to the correct terminology.
Just like we are starting to make mBTC the norm we should also change to exchanging fiat for (m)BTC.
You do this when you for example want to exchange your $$ for €€.

People have a hard time "buying" a currency @$550 per 1.
Do we treat BTC as stock or do we treat BTC as currency?
Now that pp/ebay might be coming aboard it might be better if we exchange over inflating fiat which requires 0 hashpower to the deflating CURRENCY bitcoin.

Of course BTC is a great investment, but I don't usually pay my local supermarket with bonds or shares.

We can use the terminology currency but then we can change to mBTC instead of BTCs, people will buy easily bitcoins knowing that they worth 0.650 usd / mBTC, thats cheap!.. and if they buy for example 500 mBTC that number will sound as an investment.

Yup. That's actually one of the bigger problems with new adopters who don't know all the things about BTC. And then Bitcoins seem expensive and they say that's too much for them and can't buy a Bitcoin. For what it's worth, we should really start telling people about decimal places and about uBTC and mBTC.

1663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $540 or so? on: June 08, 2014, 06:06:40 AM
In my honest opinion, this is all cheap coins. And the train is leaving.
1664  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: June 08, 2014, 06:04:14 AM
Starting post: #6481 (is that what you mean? Please clarify if I made a mistake).
Bitcoin address: 1KR2NjPuyL4MWwrrMSMhbzhuGmnCQy4YYg

No, instead of "starting post", you should have the number of posts you made so far; so 194 as of my post. You can see that in your "Profile", under "Posts".

EDITED! Thanks for the clarification! Now, again:

Starting post: 194
Bitcoin address: 1KR2NjPuyL4MWwrrMSMhbzhuGmnCQy4YYg

Smiley

How do I effectively keep track of "constructive post" I've made? Thanks!

For one, you could stop posting spam posts Cheesy
Just kidding. You'll probably have to count it all, good luck!
1665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 08, 2014, 06:02:20 AM
Good morning folks!

The prices are so weird. Has anything interesting happened yesterday?
1666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $540 or so? on: June 07, 2014, 06:19:51 AM
I actually wish I bought Bitcoin when it was at $1, or less. Wink

Meanwhile, those of us that bought at under $1 are wishing we hadn't sold at $5, $10, $35, $65...

Long gone are the days of selling 70 BTC at $80... Damn.
1667  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.35 Loan, will pay back 0.45 on: June 07, 2014, 06:18:20 AM
op has not sent back yet.

Um... Didn't he say 9th June? I thought you made a deal.
1668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2014, 06:11:07 AM
Someone sold at $0.85, ouch!!!

Search the "Bitcoin will plummet to $10" thread.
1669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $540 or so? on: June 07, 2014, 05:55:50 AM

hehehe

That actually happened to me by accident. I had a limit order on Bitstamp at 520 or so, and completely forgot about it. One day I log into Stamp, and I see +10 BTC. One of the best days ever.
1670  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the best thing in the universe? on: June 07, 2014, 05:53:31 AM
I like very much combination of drug and music . you have to add this new option to your poll because I can't click both at the same time Sad

+420

Seriously one of my biggest joys.
1671  Bitcoin / Press / Re: Ebay CEO serious about bitcoin on: June 07, 2014, 05:46:38 AM
If Satoshi dies then Bitcoin will be worth a lot more ... oh, so that's why he is anonymous. Smiley

According to rpitella, Satoshi owns some BTC980,000. That is still less than 8% of all the Bitcoins in circulation. And we are not sure whether he is having the private keys to all of his wallets. Most of the coins haven't been moved for almost 3 years now. That said, who would murder someone else for just 8% rise in their net wealth?

You're talking like 8% is nothing. It's way too much. Are you saying you wouldn't want to have a million BTC?
1672  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2014, 05:36:37 AM
Its 1am here on the east coast and I just bought some bitcoin.

half a wall's worth?

Yeah right, look at that. Unless someone cashes out some big bucks, that's staying.
1673  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2014, 04:49:52 AM
Just got home.. Somebody eat that whall! I'll do it, someone just lend me some cash

I'm all out of fiat...
note to self: I need to start selling random stuff from my house for BTC.

Hopefully this wall will be gone by tomorrow. Also, the US is still sleeping, wait a few hours.

what if I told you I am the US, and I am not sleeping

Most US people I know like to trade at broad daylight Tongue
There will surely be more traders tomorrow(?) than it is now. What's it like there, 1 AM?

1675  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: June 07, 2014, 04:41:00 AM
Not investing $2k when BTC was $2. Wife told me to go for it and I bought hardware instead.... Sad

Ok, but you made 100ish bitcoins still?

made 54 coins all up but spent them as I mined them on fuel, groceries, 1.5kW solar panel system, etc..

still have two of the GPUs, a Jally and adding some next gen hardware this week from the profits.

Did OK by turning $2K into ~$7K but it could have been $2K into $1M (buy $2K when $2/BTC for 1K BTCs then sell 1K BTCs @ $1K during peak for $1M)

Oh well...got some goodies out of it I suppose and now self renewing wallet / hardware

I am rather curious to what she said as BTC crossed 1k...  Rather unusual(nothing bad just diff from the norm!) that the wifeskie is telling the hubby to invest.

Hopefully she is still saying invest. BTC is still way undervalued.

People who sold in Nov-December and bought back a few months after almost double their bitcoins holdings!

It is very risky to do so, apparently R successfully did so : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=12156.new#new

Yeah, pretty, pretty risky. But it really paid out. I've bought when it dropped to $500-ish. Didn't sell at ATH though, somewhere at $980.

LOL at that! Morning's off to a great start.
1677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: June 07, 2014, 03:35:01 AM
Guys! Wait up a minute.

He still has about 25 days left!!!!!  Grin

Not actually, more like 7 days... And next week is probably gonna be big, with all the news from this week.
1678  Economy / Speculation / Re: This forum is full of future millionaires on: June 07, 2014, 03:27:27 AM
yea I'm even more confused with the last page of posts and that is why I will probably be keeping all my coins in/at Coinbase.

if you're going to do that, just make sure to use all the security features coinbase has available to you.

also you may want to enable 2 factor authentication on the email address linked to your coinbase account, i recently saw someone on reddit complaining about a hacker getting into their coinbase account after having their email compromised. and of course make sure to use a unique strong password...never use it anywhere else.

Personally, I'd never use 2FA unless I can use it with my phone.
1679  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2014, 03:24:33 AM
Good morning everyone! Today we should finally see some movement.
1680  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going to the MOON? I dont think so... on: June 06, 2014, 01:11:28 PM
Next month we will be on the Moon (1000$), but we won't see Mars (10000$) soon, not this year.
2015 maybe the right time to go to the red planet, and then sodl all and cya.

Why are you gonna cash out? What's the point then?
I'd never cash out at 10000 or something. When it gets there, it can only go up up up.

Although it'll be a bumpy ride.
