1241  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX Japan resumes fiat and crypto withdrawals today on: February 22, 2023, 10:09:35 PM
They must then confirm the balance on their FTX Japan account.
Great news for all FTX customers  Cool
It's good news solely for Japan FTX customers and not entirely for all FTX users in different regions.

Customers who traded with FTX.US are still waiting to hear what will happen while the exchange continues its bankruptcy process. Japan's regulators were praised for passing stringent laws to protect its investors so quickly.

While people around the world have higher hopes now on getting their money back, it's important to make it clear that Japan is a rather unique situation: there FTX had to insure their operations in order to get the license to operate. That insurance is what pays now the customers' money, not FTX.

PS: In my topic in Press about FTX withdrawals in Japan I seem to have better source for the news.
Thanks for this explanation because it's making it look like that FTX is the one acting on it but it's the insurance that covers all the damages that this debacle made by FTX.

Still, great thing for the customers from Japan that have been affected by this mess.
1242  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why should we observe Every that matters about our kids on: February 22, 2023, 08:05:21 PM
This is why it's important to have a bond with your children. You'll give them sometimes what they're asking especially if it's making them happy so that you can also ask them certain questions.

And, they won't hide things from you as a parent.

There are techniques to do that so that your kids will always be open and will tell you quickly if something is bothering or hurting them. True, observe your kids and if there's something wrong or odd, you should take care of it and facilitate their feelings.

When a kid keeps secret from you, it's no good. That's why treat them not just your kids but also your best of friends and show how you really love them.
1243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Do Gamblers Do This? on: February 21, 2023, 12:47:10 PM
why do gamblers tend to wait until they have suffered a catastrophic loss or a string of losses before quitting or seeking help?
Realization and regret is always at the end part of what we do.

When we gamble, we don't ask for help when we're just starting out. We're only coming out with that when we already experience those losses. And much worse is that some are seeking help to have more money to gamble than to seek help to stop their addiction.

It's thesad truth but it strucks the reality for those people so that it will sink in to them eventually when they don't like what's happening to them anymore.
1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is currently the best crypto to invest in? on: February 21, 2023, 10:35:40 AM
It's nice that you've asked first before investing. Because most of the newbies that have known crypto, they were so quick to invest up to the point that they never understood a thing or two of what they're trying to do. They've just heard someone told them that a shitcoin is good to invest and they did followed the advise.

Mimiklinton, you'll never go wrong by choosing bitcoin as your main and first crypto investment. It's a beginner friendly and the best in the market that you can ever look at. Hear it out from the majority who's telling you to start out by having bitcoin.
1245  Economy / Economics / Re: The current situation in the country Nigeria. on: February 21, 2023, 09:22:04 AM
I have recently talked to someone that went abroad and someone from Nigeria told him that the situation there really is hard for them. We've got forum members here that are also from that country and has expressed on how they're dealing with the hardship there.

Apparently, Nigerians have hot a local board now and you might want to move this thread over there.
I agree that OP should be active there and talk with other Nigerian forum members on how they're coping up with the situation. They can help each other on dealing with it since they know the situation better.

1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there age limits to Bitcoin investment? on: February 21, 2023, 08:10:21 AM
I was actually wondering if there are any restrictions on age as to investing in Bitcoin?
I read threads where people have constantly introduced Bitcoin to their underaged children (10years below) and I really don't think it's necessary because I feel those kids still have some mental growth  to do and since Bitcoin is a very volatile digital asset, I think children shouldn't be made to go through such stress.
Same thing also applies to the elderly as I've also read news of people trying to get some retirees investing their pensions into crypto rather than advising them to relax and enjoy their pension and I really wanted to know if it's wise to get kids and elderly into the crypto industry.
I have no problem if kids as young as 10 being introduced to bitcoin. They're not being obliged to invest but it's an additional thought and knowledge to them to know bitcoin at a very young age.

In general of investing, there's no restriction of age on when they can start. As long as they're aware of the basics of it and they know what they do, that's the key to investing to any asset like bitcoin.

Anyone can invest as old as they can like Warren Buffett although it's a different case on him because he doesn't like bitcoin. But I'm talking about the general rule in investing that no age is really required on when you'll start and when you'll stop.
1247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Common Mistakes Made by New Crypto Investors on: February 20, 2023, 11:38:15 PM
This is really a common mistake by most newbies. They think that it's fine to keep their assets in online wallets or exchanges where they are trusting most. They do trust the exchange but they don't know what's the importance of holding their own keys.

The result isn't great at all because we know that this is an important fact being in here. If you don't hold the keys, it means that you don't hold your crypto. And that's the same with the assets being kept in exchanges, you're just seeing your deposited asset but it's no longer you that owns it while it's there.
I think everyone made this mistake once. I used to keep my assets in exchanges and in mobile wallet where I didn't had the control of my own coins. But later I lost some coins form my exchange and they told everyone that there exchange was hacked. I know it can truly be hacked by others or simply they just removing balance from the users and label it as hacked.

Online wallets and exchanges are easy to use compared to wallets where you have the private key or seed phrase. For the advertisement and easy to use reason newbies keep their coins at online wallets.
It's true that using exchanges and online wallets are easier because on how they're being marketed, that's why everyone seems to be confident and comfortable using them because of how accessible they are and ease of access.

But, the truth has to be said and usage of it will determine on how knowledgeable you are with these type of keeping of your assets.

If you're not too careful and don't do researches then, your confidence will stay on them and when they're hacked there is a possibility that your funds might be gone forever and they have to reason out that no refunds will be made.

I am not familiar with Shopify Rebellion and I am surprised they have quite a high odd to win Lima Major. Is there anything particular with EG and Shopify that would get you excited about their series? They might not even meet since they are in different groups.
EG moved from NA to now South America and replaced the old roster which were the Shopify Rebellion's now(North America).
Oh, I see, that is something. Do they have beef because one took a slot from another or are we just speculating here?
We're not speculating here, that's a fact and I've followed the transition and that's why I'm aware of it. There's no beef or anything about them and EG's old roster.

It's just because they're getting the same result with the old roster, they need to do something and they want change and that's why they've chosen the SA boys to form their new roster.

But we are not sure if they will ever meet in this competition since they are in different groups unless both of them get into the Semis or Finals. Hopefully they will meet so we can judge if EG made the right decision or not.
Yeah, they're on different bracket but I don't mind seeing them have a match.

I'm kinda laughing at the name but seeing how EG let go of the old roster, I kinda understood the rebellion part. They're doing well in SA though, but they kinda have to grind since the SA region is already packed with a lot of good teams. I'm hoping that Shopify Rebellion get better placements in the DPC in order to qualify for a lot of prestige tournaments.
SA region is one of the quickest improving region honestly. Before, they weren't being noticed and like a mediocre region for most div 1 teams.

But with the last TIs and mostly with the recent one, they can't ignore the talents that are from there.

Brackets are already been made for the Lima Major of Dota 2. Look at the bracketing for group A and group B....

2 more days and we will see another great DOTA 2 action. And I am actually more curious about a series between Evil Geniuses and Shopify Rebellion. These 2 teams will have the attention of this major. Although we will have to wait a little longer as both teams are not in the same group. I'm not a fan of Bulba but maybe in this new team, Fly will be able to dominate a big part of the team's drafting and strategies.

The betting odds are picked Team Liquid, Tundra, and BetBoom as early favorites. Shopify Rebellion has 9x odds while EG is at x101.
EG and Shopify Rebellion aren't on the same bracket so, if they're going to face each other then that might be on the playoffs. It's going to take a while until they be against each other or possible that it won't happen.

-Keeping Crypto in Online Wallets: Keeping your cryptocurrency in exchanges or online wallets does not provide complete protection and is easily compromised. Because online wallets do not provide the same level of security as offline wallets, it is preferable to keep your valuables in an offline wallet.
This is really a common mistake by most newbies. They think that it's fine to keep their assets in online wallets or exchanges where they are trusting most. They do trust the exchange but they don't know what's the importance of holding their own keys.

Brackets are already been made for the Lima Major of Dota 2. Look at the bracketing for group A and group B.

Group A

EHOME
Evil Geniuses
Execration
Gaimin Gladiators
PSG.LGD
Talon Esports
Team Spirit
TSM
Tundra Esports

Group B

beastcoast
BetBoom Team
Entity
Geek Slate
HellRaisers
Knights
Shopify Rebellion
Team Aster
Team Liquid

I've just noticed that Knights is there, isn't it this team was the one accused of fixed matching during the qualifier for Lima major or they were clear as they've been qualified?
1252  Economy / Economics / Re: Lebanese depositors smash up, burn Beirut banks on: February 18, 2023, 11:45:49 AM
IIRC, there were incidents last year when people were forced to robbed the banks just to take their own funds.

People in Lebanon are robbing banks and staging sit-ins to access their own savings

It's sad that its own people can't access their own deposited money and not just on that country but even in China, I've seen the same news.
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin on: February 18, 2023, 10:28:43 AM
Because according to my research most crypto miners use cloud mining
Can you show us the proof to prove this research of yours? Most cloud mining are likely scams.

I also read an article that said all Bitcoin come from hardware mining which means that even cloud mining is hosted by hardware miners
What do you think?
What's real with these cloud mining is that, majority of them are total scams. If there's a legit thing about them, you will rarely find them. That's why if you find some cloud mining that offers you an investment, it's likely a scam and that's the truth.
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 17, 2023, 12:07:21 PM
I haven't gone through with most details yet but I am happy to see that Donaire is going to have a championship match again. This is what he really needs to do before the possible retirement that he might announce just after the match.

I third the motion.  Cheesy Let's make a poll.
I am sure that the votes will most likely for Donaire. Looking at the stats of Santiago, he may not that be an easy opponent. I'll find and watch some videos of his matches.
1255  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I can't convert my btc to usdt on coinbase. on: February 17, 2023, 10:06:56 AM
Show some image on how the error looks like but if it seems to be under a dollar or the value is in centavos then that's not really enough. Just as they said, exchanges have minimum amounts for conversion and transactions.

Like in Binance, it is requiring $10 amount minimum in crypto for you to convert and trade it.

Having that said, your balance isn't really enough to proceed with the transaction/conversion.
1256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin gambling problem on: February 17, 2023, 08:28:34 AM
But I think those gamblers who are already entering a deeper level of gambling problems or addiction should consult a professional face to face.
Undoubtedly. Those that are experiencing severe gambling problem and addiction, they need to seek professional help. But with these websites that are giving some solutions if it may, they're a big help for those that will check it out.

A conversation or actual assessment, consultation, counseling, therapy, etc is much better and helpful for their proper recovery.
Aside from those, a support that can be seen from their immediately family will be also a big factor to show that they want change. It's going to be part of recovery and with that, the gambler might appreciate all the help and support that's been given.
1257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: February 16, 2023, 10:50:27 PM
BTS SEA finals are going on and even if I missed first games where Talon won , I will go with Fnatic to win 3rd map as I'm sure this ORG has at least 1 more victory in store for them in DOta 2 scene before they fully disband.

I've also trow my last LTC balance into this game and if they win 3rd map , I will go with Fnatic on 4th map as well.
Fnatic ended their journey and made their last match against Talon with a straight 3 times loss. They've come into 2nd place and Talon wins the BTS pro season 14 (Sea).

Although you've lost this bet. I saw how they've progressed in the lower bracket and beating every opponent with a 2-0 until they made 0-3 against Talon.

What's sadder is that, Fnatic is already out of dota 2 and that's the last run that they've made. For so long, they've been one of the known team in dota 2.
1258  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance to Airdrop $100 to Turkey Earthquake region affected users on: February 16, 2023, 07:17:56 PM
I think they've done the same with Ukraine before. What's sad these days is that with these donation drives and help, we're thinking that they're not just giving it away but also there must be something in return in their favor.

But in tough times, there's really nothing better to see but those that are sending help to the victims of the Earthquakes. And, there's this condition that they have that it's only for those existing verified users that are from the affected regions.
1259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 4 Altcoins to look at in 2023 on: February 16, 2023, 06:04:31 PM
Well, those wallets that we have, they have automatic calculation on what's the percentage of each crypto that we have.

These choices that we make really have to be dependent on what we know about them. If you've been making a research very well, you'll see those ins and outs of other projects.
Yeah, which is why we need an in-debt analysis of the project before putting our money down,  because without adequate knowledge and understanding of project usercase and what they intend to offer on a long-term scale if you let emotion take out your sense of judgement one may end up in a bad investment.
Truly our emotion is one of the factors if we'll be able to choose the right one or we won't. If we basically rely on it for choosing the good projects we can have, it's likely one of the mistakes that we'll ever commit.

-So knowledge is the key factor and tool that aid our decision-making process, especially in altcoin where the risk level is incredibly high compared to Bitcoin.
No doubt with that. When someone's knowledgeable enough to look at these prospected projects, he sure know what he's doing. Just like us who understood first what bitcoin is and how volatile it was, then we'll get a glance of those projects we may want to get involved.

~snip~
For this long, BITVEST and it sister casino have been active in solving player problems and also responding to enquiries and tickets as their raised through the appropriate channel and thos is somehow commendable on the part of the admin and the operational team of this casino.
I have a couple of experiences on this site and to a great extent,  I haven't regretted it yet even though I only wagered little amount.

But all the same, there will gain more confidence from this community, if they have an active representative here in the forum.
That's good to hear. Basically, the issue before was just about the hot wallet not being filled but then it was solved. Well then, wishing that this type of service will continue as they're one of the oldest casinos out there that still operates.

~snip~

Absolutely correct mate cause we all know that signature campaigns problem of this casino is already been solve so for now and we must forget about that ,and focus on the casino itself .cause they create this thread to give some information and opinions to other user here in community and not all in campaign. But honestly this casino and the sister casino itself has done many good things before but for now there a little bit problem and we don't know yet if will continue to manage and re build this casino or not.
Actually, the campaign talk should already be done and be refrained for the topic as this is mainly all about the casino per se. I don't think that there's a need to rebuild it if it's already working and operating well for them.
